Super tour, we decided to go on the day turned up and purchased tickets. We were super impressed with the videos and the sets it was different, interesting and really well done. Our 9 year old enjoyed the tour and even got to join in the tasting with Apple juice at the end. Would recommend!

This tour is so well worth doing! Regular visits in English lasting about 45 minutes, you walk through the story of Normandy. Its apples and cider and the Calvados making experience. And you finish with a tasting. Unlike another other distillery tour and one you’ll remember
This is the best tour I have ever done. We did it in English and were the only ones there. There were multiple rooms with history, projections, artistry and beauty. So much to see it was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds with sampling of Calvados afterwards.
This tour was the perfect way of showing how Calvados is produced. Very interesting and informative.
This was a random choice that turned out brilliantly! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, it was the middle of a hot day and we were the only visitors. You walk through a number of rooms, each with a video presentation taking you through the history of the area, Père Magloire himself and the development of calvados. There are also scents, movements and sounds taking you right into the heart of the action. It finishes with very generous tasting of a number of products. I would love to go back!
Amazing tour experience from start to finish. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Tasting at the end was lovely.
We had a surprisingly good experience on the tour of this renowned Calvados producer. We were fortunate that the 3 other visitors arriving at the same time we did were Swedish, and spoke English, so the immersive experience - which is offered in either English or French, but only one language at a time - was played in English. You walk through the distillery and each room has a huge screen, and you watch the history of the drink as well as it's production. It was a first class presentation - cutting edge production values, excellent acting, and highly informative. After the tour/experience, we were taken to the tasting room, where we received generous portions of several different products, all of which had a kick! The tour ended in an
very informative personal approach with plenty of time to annswer questions great tastings lots of variety
Excellent experience. A lot of effort has been put into the tour with an excellent English video tour suitable for all ages. Wheelchair accessable
The experience was first class and very informative, excellent presentation. The tasting encourage us to buy bottle.
Apologies , in my recent review I said it was 19 euros; it's actually 14.50 euros which makes it better value! really a very good experience. Even better if you do the calvados tasting at the end
Very professional presentation of the Calvados process/history. Amazing special effects as you go from room to room. A little pricy at 19 euros but a lot of money will have been spent in setting this up. Calvados tasting at the end included but we had some very nice apple juice instead. Car parking free across the road. Could do with more signage on the roads around.
A brilliant afternoon out from our river cruise ship . This was fun , informative, interesting, very well organised and a great experience. Loved the “ immersive tour” , it’s a clever way to make it all interesting. The tasting was very well done with our guide suggesting which foods to try with each product we tasted . Very professional & very enjoyable. Certainly recommend this to anyone.
This Calvados learning experience was terrific. Fun, entertaining and a little bit “Disney”, as Calvados lovers we had a lot of fun. A great way to learn a little history, learn a little about Calvados and try a number of different types, ages and brands of Normandie’s “eau de vie.”. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon. A lovely facility and the surronding town of Pont L’Eveque is adorable. If you are visiting Normandy, this is a mandatory stop.
Amazing experience to dip into a process of creation of calvados. incredible performance, charming and professional staff, interesting and informative way of information deliverance , unforgettable memories and emotions. Perfectly suits for groups lone visits. it is a MUST see point
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who gave us some great recommendations for additional things to see.
Great tour and informative Video tour that explains everything Small group which was great Tours seem to go regularly Plenty of seating for people who find it hard to stand for a long time
Very nice “Disney” caliber audio-video tour within the distillery. The tour was highlighted by the tasting and education along with it. Worth the drive from Bayeaux
July 3: Visited the Calvados Experience at Père Magloire during a week in Normandy. Friendly welcome, the Expierence was surprising, educational and very professional. Then a tasting where the differences were very noticeable. Employee Corentin was knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. Bought 2 bottles in the shop to enjoy the delicious Calvados at home in Holland.
My wife & four year old boy showed up to take a tour. We were told to come back at 3:45pm for an English version. We returned & were told the English group started at 3:30pm. There was then a confusing & frustrating set of conflicting instructions from two different people to rush in to catch the previous group then to come back out & wait then go back in .... grrrr The tour was EXCELLENT. Great visuals. Interesting narration. And a series of rooms focused on the area, growing different apple types, harvesting, the double distillation method, the choice of wood for barrels to impart color & nuanced flavor ... at the end there's a tasting of three different calvados One of the ladies who had been giving the conflicting instructions at the start spoke with us and apologized and provided some Normandie cheese along with the calvados. A nice gesture. Highly recommended. And not just for adults. It kept the attention of our 4 yr old very well.
Although you don’t see the actual production this was a really interesting and enjoyable experience ( a touch of Disney !) certainly exceeded our expectations and we learnt a lot! The tasting was exceptional due to our excellent host! Easy parking and so pleased we booked this-Do go it’s well worth it !
An immersive interactive tour that lasts 45 mins. You go through a series of rooms that bring the history of Pere Magloire calvados to life. Finished with a tasting session and talk about the different varieties of calvados and liqueurs plus a taste of a fabulous apple juice led by Steve who did a cracking job. Better than we expected. Completed tour with a trip to the shop.
Very attentive guide, excellent experience and well worth the money to see. Kept everyone entertained
Had a fabulous afternoon learning about Calvados then sampling some. Fascinating 4D multi media presentations in several rooms outlining the history and production of this ray de vie. Following relaxed and generous tasting with Steve who shared his knowledge, enthusiasm and fine amber beverages. Would thoroughly recommend!!
This was a very interesting and great experience. The way they told the story was super and the tasting at the end was definitely a highlight. Can only recommend this.
We had a fantastic time. Very knowledgeable staff. Sampling at the end of the tour was the highlight, while simultaneously learning about the process and different bottles. Highly recommend for an enjoyable and informative experience!
Modern. Visally fantastic. Techy. Even the tweens enjoyed it. The tasting at the end was varied. Glad it was in english tour and the tasting staff, so we could understand.
being passionate about Calvados, this was a fantastic visit, very well organised and presented and very informative. A visit to the lovely town of Pont l'eveque is also a great experience.
As you enter each section a film / animation begins. The English and French versions alternate every 15 minutes. We were the only two visitors for our "session" and found it fascinating. Lots of information about the region, apple production, and of course the making of Calvados. At the end you go into a bar area where a young man with excellent English explains about the different grades (VSOP, XO etc), and you taste each one and try and spot the difference. Only criticism is that the samples could have been more generous !
This experience is geared to a tourist crowd - it's a "Disney" view of cider making and not a visit to a family run cidery. And what an experience it is! You are guided through several rooms of a cinematic experience as you learn about the process of making cider and calvados. The experience is extremely well done and has the capacity for large tours (though we had the luxury of a near personal tour). Then you have a fabulous tasting room experience. Our only disappointment is that we had limited space in our luggage and could not buy that much!
Very informative tour and excellent tasting at the end with Steve who was very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend.
Excellent! Very easy, very informative immersive experience! Special mention to Greg at the tasting bar who is a real asset to the organisation, very personable and knowledgeable! The boutique is so well presented, it is a delight to the eyes. Highly recommended!
Amazing selfguided tour followed by an excellent tasting of many variations of calvados. Gregory our bar man was simply amazing 😉
Great experience, Steve, our tasting guide was very personable, knowledgable and extremely friendly, attention to detail was on point, answered all the questions we had. Thoroughly enjoyed it. highly recommend!
Excellent guided visit, it is a 45 min show with a lot of explanations on history and technology of manufacturing the drink, completed by a tasting experience...and you can buy some very precious bottles at the end. Congrats and thanks to the entire team!
This is an excellent view into the making of Calvados! Multi sensory and informative. Glad it was available in English. Special kudos to Steve for hosting our tasting. His encyclopedic knowledge of history and spirits made the experience one to remember.
My family and I traveled to Calvados and visited multiple distilleries, leaving the Pere Magloire Calvados experience last but certainly not least. This is an absolute must do for anyone looking for a world class experience followed by a tasting of the fantastic Calvados. Our host Steve went the extra mile with us and taught us about the different types of Calvados, how to pair them and gave us a lovely tasting of different styles. This visit was the perfect way for us to finish our trip in Calvados and is the highlight of a lovely experience. Thanks again Steve and the team for making this a special experience for us all. Greetings from Aruba!
We had such a good time…..totally unexpected! We were visiting Normandy with a cloudy weather outlook so opted to head here…it was so worth the visit! Totally pulled us into the story of calvados and Steve was an amazing tour guide! We learnt so much and Steve helped us select the best buys in the shop! Thank you, what a joy :-)
Wow what a tour Somehow we were the only family on the tour this morning. It’s a seven room automated tour and you take a walk through the history of the region. Every room kept the kids entertained and engaged. The staff are first class and very welcoming and friendly. They are all exceptionally good English speakers and very friendly. The samples of Calvados were very nice and the shop is well stocked and the whole place has an air of class and culture. My children said it was like Cadburys world for drinkers. It’s well worth a visit if your in the area
We didnt know what to expect as we were just told next English guided tour in 15 minutes but previous positive reviews made us wait and it was so worth it - quite extraordinary light sound and visual experience as you move from room to room to learn about Normandy and the making of calvados with an informative tasting at the end.in one room I felt I was in a scene from chitty chitty bang bang!Fabulous
This was our first experience of Calvados and what an experience it was. We were the only persons on the tour(including dog) which probably made it even better. The history and story as told by the tour was very good. Not only did we find it interesting but the visual effects kept our 5 year old amused and engrossed. We then had a wonderful tasting experience with Steve what a great guy. So knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the whole history of Calvados. His advice whilst tasting was very useful. We bought one or two bottles……… and look forward to sampling them. We would recommend this tour.
My wife and I visited the experience yesterday and had a wonderful time. I feel in love with Calvados several years ago and was interested in learning more about Calvados. The immersive experience was great but Steve was awesome in the tasting room. We learned a lot more about the different labeling of Calvados and really enjoyed the tastings of the different types of Calvados. Steve is a gem.
What a great little tour in the heart of Normandy not far from Deauville, a must if you are in the area. Only 9€ for the tour and tasting with great information on different types of Calvados by Geatan which resulted in a purchase in the gift shop
We stopped here on a family trip to Normandy during our summer holiday in 2019. It was really quite fun and even the children enjoyed it. I was also great to learn a bit more about Calvados and also taste some!
This place was AMAZING!!! We had our own VIP private tour.....meaning....absolutely no-one else was with us in the English version of the experience!!! Utterly fabulous!!! I so want to expand on that - but that will take away from the experience for someone else. Certainly a 'must do' in Normandy.Old and young enjoyed this one. Youngest rated the Apple Juice as the Best in the World.... and i kinda agree with him. It was sooooo yummy!
Very beautifull and immersive experience. It has a theme-park feeling with all those beautifull decors. After the tour you are invited for a tasting. You can taste different calvados-/apple-based products untill the next group arrives. The children got some apple-juice (which was the best they ever had). There is also a shop where you can buy everything you just tasted.
It was a nice and “educational” tour with afterwards a nice calvados tasting. Steve was very kind and matched the different Calvados and Cider variations with our taste! He never became pushy although the goal of this experience is to sell you one or more bottles of Calvados. Steven thanks again!
Steve who talked us through the drinks, offering us tasters, was a wonderfully eloquent and expressive man! He gave a wonderful feel of Calvados, explaining the life in every drop with some wonderful recommendations! This is a great experience for all ages and groups! I would 100% recommend. Also there is a reason it’s coined liquid gold- delicious!!
we, as a group of three, had decided to stop and see what this was and we were very surprised! The story and the way it had been shown was very interesting and informative. The story itself didn't last too long so it didn't get boring. After the story of how this drink was made there was a tasting session. The lady that explained everything was very nice and attentive, we understood everything! Afterwards we couldn't help ourselves but to buy a few bottles ;) definitely recommend!
I am not he type who likes tours and museums! However I really had fun in this one. what made this visit special is Steve “the tasting guy” the way he interacted with us expalined and discribed the drinks! He definitly has an exceptional great taste because his favorite Calvados is just PERFECT. If you don’t know much about Calvados he will show you the perfect bottle to buy!
