My driver/ history buff John was an East End treat. I was not expecting an Englishman but John was fun and knowledgeable about numerous details pertaining to the area and D Day landings. It was great fun and a unique experience and worth every penny.

Your Gentleman Sider (guide/driver) will meet you with his vintage sidecar at the pickup location of your choice, or at the parking lot of the Bayeux Battle of Normandy Museum, or at the Bayeux bus station. He will help you gear up with helmets, gloves, and retro goggles before getting you settled in. There will, of course, be stops along the way to take breaks and capture photos.
AMERICAN SECTOR OPTION *This stop may be excluded if your guide estimates that there is not enough time left.* Liberated on June 8th, 1944 by the 47th Royal Marines Commando during Operation Overlord, Port-en-Bessin became, as early as June 16th, the central hub of a pipeline network of approximately 120 km designed to supply the Allied armies with fuel. By the end of August 1944, this system was expanded through Operation PLUTO, which involved laying underwater pipelines between the Isle of Wight and Querqueville near Cherbourg.
AMERICAN SECTOR OPTION *This stop may be excluded if your guide estimates that there is not enough time left.* Omaha Beach remains one of the most iconic D-Day landing sites, holding undeniable historical importance. Here, you will stand on the very sands where thousands of American soldiers bravely landed amid intense gunfire and artillery bombardment. Your guide will share moving accounts of the challenges the soldiers faced during this fierce battle. As you walk along the beach, take a moment to honor the memorials and reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought here.
AMERICAN SECTOR OPTION The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, perched on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach, offers a poignant and deeply moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. As you walk among the rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David, you will be filled with a profound sense of gratitude and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Your guide will share stories about some of the individuals laid to rest here and provide meaningful insights into the significant impact of their sacrifices on the course of history. *During the low season, the cemetery closes early. Any tour starting at 4:00 PM will not be able to visit the cemetery.* *Please note that starting in 2026, the visit to the Omaha Cemetery cannot be guaranteed.*
BRITISH SECTOR OPTION Your driver will take you to Arromanches-les-Bains. It was on this beach that, during the Battle of Normandy, immediately after D-Day on June 6th, 1944, the Allies established Mulberry B, a temporary artificial harbor designed to allow the landing of heavy equipment without waiting for the capture of deep-water ports such as Le Havre or Cherbourg (Cherbourg-en-Cotentin since 2016). Although located in the center of the Gold Beach landing zone, Arromanches was spared the worst of the fighting on D-Day. To ensure the harbor could be installed and made operational as quickly as possible, the beach needed to be preserved and the surrounding communication routes kept intact. British troops therefore landed further east, between Asnelles and Ver-sur-Mer, and liberated Arromanches by land on the evening of June 6th. The harbor was put into operation on June 14th.
BRITISH SECTOR OPTION The Longues-sur-Mer battery is one of the artillery batteries of the Atlantic Wall, located in the coastal commune of Longues-sur-Mer in the Calvados region. The site consisted of four long-range 150 mm naval guns, each protected by a reinforced concrete casemate, along with various installations used to operate and defend them. Situated in the Allied Normandy landing zone, between Omaha Beach and Gold Beach, the battery was subjected to intense aerial and then naval bombardment, preventing it from fully engaging on D-Day. It was captured the following day by British troops. Listed as a Historic Monument, it is in a very good state of preservation. The site is open to visitors and has become a popular stop on tours of the D-Day landing sites.
Return to the starting point by the countryside.

Had a great experience with Remi, Phillip and Thomas! They were very knowledgeable and made the trip fun and lighthearted even through the emotional tolls of D-day. Would recommend this tour to anyone who’s looking for a fun way to enjoy history with family and friends!
As two over 60 Canadian female travellers, Philip was an amazing host, driver and guide. We toured the British beach, German canon bunkers and he gave of lots of information and even directions to head to Juno beach. Would definitely highly recommend this tour to anyone!!!
Our guide John was absolutely fantastic. The riding was so professional, the knowledge about what we saw was so deep and interesting and as for John- we had so much fun and laughs during the entire tour We recommend this for EVERYONE!
It was a great experience! Just driving around in Normanady like this is just great. The extra is all the information that the guides gave us about the landings of the allied forces! Just a great experience!
It was so much fun! You will see way more than on a group tour. John was absolutely fabulous! His knowledge of the Events surrounding D day was off the sharts! Also a super nice guy.
Tour was great, John very knowledgeable and fun. And easy on the eyes! Highly recommend. P.S. Viator overcharges, book direct!
We had a great experience with our drivers Pierre and John. They arrived at our Bayeux hotel a little early and made sure we were well prepared for the trip and the weather conditions. We only booked a 2 hour trip and so they made sure to make the most our D-Day tour based on what we had already seen and what we planned to visit later in our trip. They were friendly, humorous, brought their charm and knowledge to make our experience one of the best parts of our time in the area. It was a fun experience our us two parents in our 50’s and our two kids in their 20’s. It was also meaningful and full of learning opportunities. They even had their own laminated photos and maps to supplement what we were able to see at the locations we visited. Both the side cars and the back of the motorcycles were comfortable—the sidecars especially. We certainly book another trip when we’re back in the area. Having had this experience, the cost of the tour offered good value.
Great memory to keep, Philippe and John are very king, skillfull and funny; we really enjoyed our tour my husband, my daughter, my son and me, it was both joyfull and instructive.
Fantastic guide. Great with my five year old
This is an absolute must-do experience! There is no better way to experience this tour of such an important historical event! And our guide John L was extraordinary. It’s safe. It’s informative. It’s fun. It is the perfect way to explore! From teens to 50s and beyond, this tour should not be missed! It’s for everyone, and I cannot recommend it enough!
We had a fantastic tour to Omaha beach with Phillipe and John. Traveling as a family (kids aged 12 and 9 years old) we wanted to take a guided tour to one or more of the d-day beaches. When we found this tour we were instantly sold as something a bit different and very cool! Whilst the 12 year old is very much interested in history and found all the fun facts fascinating, our danger mouse 9 year old was very much enthralled with the bike ride! sometimes even lifting the wheel of the side cart of the floor! This really made her day! The history buff 12 year old was able to ask all his questions, which the very knowledgable guides answered very extensively. Our only regret is not having more time.. We highly recommend booking this tour. it is worth every cent!
Excellent tour and pilot John was awesome and very knowledgeable! My wife and both loved the experience!
Very informative guide (Phillipe) and capable sidecar motorbike driver. Phillipe was very knowledgeable, interesting and friendly.
This was one of my favorite tours on my trip with my son. Unique experience and great perspective of Normandy riding on a motorcycle. Our guide, Remy, was fantastic. Tailored the tour to our preferences and provided great information.
The side car experience with Phillip (tour guide) was fantastic. The tour was a lot of fun and we enjoyed the details and history provided on our tour. My son (7YO) had a lot of fun and enjoyed the ride, along with seeing some of the sights around Omaha beach. The 2 hour tour was a great memory for my son and I while visiting the Normandy area. I would highly recommend this tour along with our guide Phillip!!!!
Great tour anna great guides Philipe and John. Very knowledgeable and fun. Would highly recommend
Remy was the best of the best. He was an expert historian, an excellent teacher, and took lots of time with us. It was our favorite thing we did for our 30th anniversary trip. We cannot recommend it enough.
Great experience with a very knowledgeable guide. The sidecar took a lot of the walking out of visiting places.(for us the British sectors)
Amazing experience! Lots of fun riding on the sidecar motorcycle. I always felt safe. Beautiful scenery! The tour guide, Phillip, was knowledgeable and had interesting stories straight from the veterans he has come to know. The grounds are stunning and it is a stark contrast to the battles that were fought there.
This tour was amazing! Our guides Remmy and John were and absolute blast! taking us around the different sights explaining what went on there- just full of knowledge about the area. Riding in the side cars was a lot of fun for the family keeping the kids interested and enjoying the views. Even though we only had a couple hours it felt like we were able to do so much. Thanks again guys!
Phillip is a great guide He is very knowledgeable and he can bring you to where you want within the time limit The car ride itself already with the while as you can cruise along the coastline Phillip will point you every point of interest along the road and explain every detail about the dday I pick 2hour trip for more flexibility but I’m sure a half day trip must worth every second of it! Highly recommend
We loved our tour! John, our tour guide, was informative and funny. He was happy to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this tour!!!
This was a really fun trip! Remi is a terrific guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about WW2. We gained a lot of insight and saw specific sights which we would have missed on our own. The motorcycle/sidecar experience was new for us and he made us feel very safe. He’s a very good driver and the whole experience was wonderful!
We had the dynamic duo of Remi and Monty who were fabulous! There was a little snafu at pickup location, but that did not affect our adventure. We chose to explore Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery Normandy. Quite the adventure riding on the back of the motorbike with my hubby in the side car! My daughters loved it as well. A great 2 hours of exploring and learning more about the incredible feats that took place in this historic area. Don’t miss a chance to book with the dynamic duo! And Remi made the daughter’s heart swoon! And thanks, Remi, for the fabulous recommendation to the Bread Rolls restaurant in Bayeaux—delicious. Merci mille fois!
Remy and John were incredible guides. Great drivers and very knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. A motorcycle is a great way to see the area!
Adrien explained the history precisely. Such a wonderful person.
John was our rider. He had great wit and confidence. His knowledge of the history of the places we visited was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour and I plan on coming back to visit the other sectors.
From start to finish it was fun. Phillip and Remi great drivers and a great balance of fun and so knowledgable of the history. It was a different way to visit the dday braces. Highly recommend.
Trip with my son and family friend. Excellent trip, very exciting. Adrian and Philippe were a very friendly team to host and drive us.
It was truly a magnificent experience. Our guides John & Adrian were very pleasant & made the whole trip a very enjoyable one. Their knowledge & skill in riding the motorbike & sidecar absolutely made our day. I can not recommend these guys enough, thank you for a great time.
Absolutely fabulous tour with Philippe & John! They were helpful, charming and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Their advice to go to the British area of Arromanches (instead of the American area of Omaha beach) was spot-on (shorter time on the road & better things to see). The 4 of us enjoyed it tremendously! Highly recommend!
Unique experience. My grandson loved it. What teenager doesn’t want to do 50 on a motorcycle! Guide was well informed so the history information was really good. Countryside is beautiful.
Our guides Thomas, Philip, and John were fantastic! Knowledgeable and interesting with a splash of comedy. We would not have enjoyed the beaches of Normandy on our own; the stories were important. The motorcycle/sidecar was a phenomenal way to see travel. The fresh air and wind in our faces provided an experience of the countryside that we otherwise would not have had. This was a highlight of our trip to France. Our kids have continued to talk about it!
How can I even begin to describe what a phenomenal tour this was! Talk about stepping back into history - Our guides, Phillip, John and Thomas, brought the beaches and scenery of Normandy to life. And the sidecars were just plain fun! Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for active adventure on their travels.
This is one of the most amazing experiences I have been fortunate to have been able to enjoy. The ride in the sidecar was absolutely exhilarating Remi or Driver and Host was full of history and stories and humor, and he took really really good care of us don’t hesitate book it.
We had a great few hours on this retro D‑Day tour. Pickup from our hotel in Bayeux was easy, and the stops at Arromanches and the Batterie de Longues‑sur‑Mer were genuinely fascinating. Our guide Philippe was excellent — a safe driver with real passion and deep knowledge. You can feel how much he cares about the history, and it made the whole experience richer. A well‑run, engaging tour that I’d happily recommend.
Remi was an amazing guide-very knowledgeable and personable! We had a great time learning with him and seeing some amazing places. Very funny and tailored tour to us.
Thank you to Philip for the fun, engaging and informative tour of Omaha beach and cemetery. Recommend!
This was a wonderful day trip to Normandy! It’s a stunning town, full of history. It’s a great way to see historic sites and learn about D-day. The tour guide was informative, kind, and funny! Well worth our time and money.
So fun! Guides were so kind and very knowledgeable with history. They also were very sweet to help us find a family member that is buried at The American Cemetery. Beautiful scenery and a memorable experience we’ll cherish!
Amazing tour with quite an experience and gave us a lot more knowledge on what happened during D-Day. Our tour guide Paul was great. He answered all of our questions and gave us a great ride on his motorcycle.
This is an excellent way in which to explore the D-Day historical sites, made all the better by our “motorbike pilot” and tour guide, Thomas. Merci Thomas! The thrill of being a sidecar or pillion passenger adds to the experience. When we stopped the different locations many people were eager to ask about the motorbike and take photos. It’s generally a unique way tour tour Normandy and I would absolutely do it again.
This was without a doubt the highlight of our four day tour of the D-Day beaches, our Drivers (Adrian and Philip) were really informative, their knowledge was excellent. They also kept us entertained throughout our tour, all four of us on the tour had a great time. This is well worth booking if in Normandy. Thanks for your excellent services.
This tour was amazing! Phillip was incredible and a wealth of knowledge! He tailored the trip to fit our needs and we even extended for an extra hour! The tour of Omaha Beach was so informative and the motorcycle ride was exhilarating!
We met Philipe & from the off he made us feel comfortable on the bike & sidecar, my partner is a nervous passenger & Philipe was a careful motorcyclist ! He took us to points of interest & had a very good knowledge & happily answered our questions.
A great experience (2-hour). Riding sidecar through the Normandy countryside, arriving at poignant D-Day locations, was great fun… while also moving. The tour guide - Philippe - was a fountain of knowledge. I thought I knew a lot about D-Day history, but he managed to still surprise me with his depth of intricate knowledge. Especially about the sites we visited. I would definitively recommend it. To the extent that I would do this again….just selecting one of the longer tours next time.
This 2-hour tour was exceptional in every way. Wish we could have booked a longer one. Phillip, Thomas and Remy were the perfect guides; prompt, courteous, adaptive, informative, pleasant and accommodating! We started our vacation in Scotland, traveled to London and then on to Paris. This excursion at the end of our journey was the all-time family favorite given the uniqueness of it and the genuine kindness of these three personable men. We couldn't have asked for a better experience to suit our history buff crew, and the sidecar experience was exciting as we rolled thru the quaint and charming towns. It exceeded our expectations and we are happy to leave them this glowing review. My husband Cliff commented that they represented the company exceptionally well and that given the opportunity, we'd book again. Don't hesitate to try this. There's not a better way to experience this historic event - D-Day. Respectfully, Cliff and Sylvia
