Stayed here for several nights as we toured the area. Hotel was clean and service was fantastic. Daily breakfast was very nice with plenty of choices. Hotel also has dinner (menu) and the food and service was good as well. Great location, easy walk into town center or an easy taxi ride. Front desk staff was always helpful with arranging transportation.
The Staff were amazing! So welcoming... they definitely know how to make a cocktail. Weather wasnt too great for the pool but didn't look the cleanest. The rooms where ok... but definitely needed updating, pillows where very hard!
I’m sorry for posting my review so late, but as I am currently staying at another hotel from the same group, with the same number of stars, it made me want to finally share my experience of what was a truly disastrous weekend. The difference in hospitality and professionalism between the staff at the two hotels is honestly unbelievable. I was particularly disappointed by the attitude of one member of your team. I’m sure the person concerned will recognise themselves. Proper training would definitely be necessary to improve the level of service and hospitality. Stayed here the w/e of Aug 15th, honestly pretty disappointed tbh. Hotel quality wasn’t great bins in the room weren’t changed, floors hadn’t been cleaned & the welcome wasn’t great either. One plus: bedding was comfy, no complaints there. Then went to reception for towels… nobody around for a good 5-10 mins, finally got seen to by a blonde lady w/ glasses who seemed proper annoyed to even help us, like we were asking for a favour. Is this really the standard for a 4* hotel? Just goes to show star ratings don’t mean much hotel to hotel tbh. Really disappointed w/ the Accor group so cheers for such a disappointing stay.
My stay at Novotel Bayeux was spoiled by a very unpleasant breakfast experience. The room was fine, but the service at breakfast was not. A staff member stopped us as we entered, raised her voice, and demanded that one of us remove a backpack. The rule was posted, so we followed it. However, moments later I saw another guest finish breakfast and leave with his backpack on. When I asked the same staff member why the rule wasn’t applied consistently, I received no clear explanation. A manager came over and spoke to me abruptly, asking what I wanted. Honestly, I wanted a simple apology and some acknowledgment that the situation was handled poorly. Inconsistent enforcement of rules and dismissive communication from staff made us feel unwelcome. This was not the level of hospitality I expected.
I’d rate this a 3 star hotel. It was comfortable, service was polite and efficient, etc- Novo Hotel simply doesn’t rise to the level of a 4 or 5 star hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, although it can get cramped with 2 people in a room. The mattress was medium-firm and I felt the room was quite soundproof. The restaurant is very good yet has a limited menu. Breakfast is good but gets repetitive. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the city center. I’d elect to stay in the city center on my next visit to Bayeux.
