Hotel Litteraire Gustave Flaubert

Traveling in France for 3 weeks at many wonderful hotels - this is the BEST! 15 minute walk to the train station through the beautiful old town, next to the Church Jeanne d'Arc Square. 5 minute walk to Rouen Cathedral (spectacular light show every night across the entire cathedral). Set back from the street through a timbered tunnel it is quiet yet easily accessible. The literary decor is a delight. We read through so much delightful literature for our stay. The room was luxury comfort and the staff is extraordinary. They fill glass bottles for your room with your choice of sparkling or still filtered water. The evening staff let us host our friend after dinner with pastries we bought earlier. The receptionist brought beautiful ceramic plates and utensils for us. Everything is done with a touch of elegance that is a delight. Short walk to Beaux Arts Museum and many free exhibitions all around town. Rouen is a lovely walkable city and this hotel is in the center of all the beauty. We walked a few blocks to the Seine and watched sunsets in the evening before the cathedral light show. Public benches let you relax on the beautiful bridge with sculptures.

Great location in Rouen. The hotel is a bit set back from the road with a building and courtyard, so it is quiet and peaceful. The beds and rooms are comfortable. The air conditioning unit in the room was quiet, which I loved. Breakfast buffet was great - meats, cheeses, eggs, salad, etc. Bread and cereal options for the gluten free! Wonderful staff!

We had a great one-night stay in a superior twin room on the 5th floor. It had a small balcony and view of the Rouen Cathedral spire. There are two elevators, perfect for guests with limited mobility. I love the books, decor, attention to detail, and unique room names ... Lots of character. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and stored our luggage for us. The breakfast was tasty. The location is fantastic with an easy walk to the Cathedral and other key sights. For vehicle access, call the hotel before your arrival to get the code to lower the bollard at the corner of Rue Fontenelle and Rue de la Pie, it'll save you time and trouble.

Please come to this quaint hotel, nestled deep in the Heart of Rouen. Each room is filled with the essence of literature. The staff is excellent and very patient with visitors. The breakfast menu is filled with delightful culinary tastes of France. The location is easily walking distance to all of the sites in the city! Come to experience it for yourself! Merci!!!!
