Weather was awful but operator insisted on going forward. Asked us to meet 1.5 hours before the scheduled time to avoid the rain. It didn’t work. Dangerous driving conditions, drove super fast , took us for a stop in a place that nothing was open and we were soaking wet. Requested to return but he didn’t. Finally he agreed to return since nothing was open and ferry closed. Awful experience and couldn’t get our money back. Terrible service.

We had a wonderful trip to Saint-Tropez. Our driver was excellent—he arrived on time, was very friendly, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. He first took us to Sainte-Maxime, where we took the ferry to Saint-Tropez and spent time exploring the town. After our visit, he came back to pick us up, and when we asked if we could go to the beach, he gladly took us there and waited for us until we were ready to leave. The van was spacious, comfortable, and air-conditioned, making the journey very pleasant. I highly recommend this service and would definitely use it again.
This was an exceptional trip and hugely enjoyable. Francois our guide was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Francois had to deal with a very difficult family that tried to upset the trip multiple times but Francois dealt with th situation so professionally. Thank you Francois for the beautiful trip. 12/10
Our day tour to Saint-Tropez and Port Grimaud was spectacular, largely thanks to Francois. He was professional, highly knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. We loved exploring both stops and appreciated all the insider tips he shared along the way. Highly recommend booking a tour with him!
Tour with Francois was amazing day! He is very knowledgeable and helpful too! I am a foodie and he's an expert on what to sample and where! Love the ability to come in via boat to see town from the water and maximize in town time. Port Grimaud was a hidden treat. Francois went out of his way and I am grateful being a solo traveler!
Nice easy way to see St. Tropez and Grimaud. The drive was very comfortable and relaxed. Our driver was knowledgeable
excellent tour .. our tour guide Alexandria was excellent.. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour…. Next time in Nice , I would definitely make this tour again.
This specific tour was almost self guided. On our two hour car ride to st tropez I was hoping our guide would tell us a bit more about the towns and history of France. That did not happen. St tropez was a beautiful town but not much to see or do. Just lots of shops, expensive shops, and restaurants. We had about two hours to walk around the town. Port Grimald was nice but all the same - just walking and shopping. Our guide just dropped us off and picked us up. It would have been nice to learn a little history about each spot. If you like to shop this is the tour for you. If you are looking for a history lesson and amazing views I would Maybe skip this one.
Francois was an extraordinary guide. The tour was wonderful!
Alexander is a great guide. He is thorough and patient. We have a nice one day trip to saint tropez.
David was a great and knowledgeable tour guide, He was always on time at our meeting points. St. Tropez was great as well as our stop in Port Grimaud!
Matt was so knowledgeable, and a had a great sense of humour. He made the day so enjoyable and allowed us to explore and maximise our time in each place!! I highly recommend Matt and the tour! It’s an absolute must!!
I was extremely disappointed with this trip. First, there was not a lot of history or information provided. The guidance was minimal for St. Tropez. There was a MAJOR holiday the day of our tour, church and streets were packed to the point of not being able to move because of the towns people waiting for the parade and the castle was closed which we didnt know until after climbing all the way to the top. Our guide didn't give us any heads up or pointers. Ig anything this tour should NOT operate during this holiday. Also, I feel the stops are too short. It would be better to have more time in port grimauld. It felt rushed there.
We had requested Russian speaking it was Not. We couldn’t see much from the van because seats headrest is to high blocking the view. We were Not able to hear the driver since we were in the back seats and he was talking forward. You need to add speakers for the back like normally it is done for the tour vans. We were dropped off in few locations and had to wait to be picked up for longer than expected time
David our guide was GREAT! Our drive there and back was very fun and humorous! Highly recommend to go, especially with David!
Pretty much a shared lift to San Tropez and Port Grimaud. Driver was nice. This is not an actual tour.
Matt was a fantastic guide. His knowledge of both the terrain and history made for a really informative journey. Stops for photos made the day - especially rouge mountains. Fantastic time!
The Trip was lovely, we were given a lot of information and tips on what to do, and we were able to take lots of photos! We have a lot of free time to explore the city, and our guide Cecile was amazing, she was very nice and funny. She made sure everyone was comfortable and introduced the groups to each other. I would recommend this trip
We traveled as a family, according to the program, from Port Grimaud to Saint-Tropez on a scenic cruise. Well, we went from the port of Saint Maximon with a scheduled boat of about 40-50 people on a road without attractions. There were 3 hours of free time in Saint-Tropez, after which they took me by car to Port-Grimaud, which is really very nice, but it was only 45 minutes of free time. According to the program, on the way back we took the "wonderful and picturesque road on the Littoral" where we stop and take photos while enjoying the most beautiful views. Well, we went through the mountains where there was no view, mainly because we didn't stop once, I think he only took the detour because we would have gotten back to Nice sooner. Overall, it was a simple taxi service that would have been cheaper with Uber because I paid €440, and Uber would have been €300, and I go when I want and spend as much time in the cities as I want. It was ridiculous, out of the 9-hour program, 4.5 hours were sightseeing and 4.5 hours by minibus, without stopping. I threw the money in the trash.
We had an excellent guide, Raphael, who was knowledgeable, thoughtful, polite and spoke four languages 🙂 Port Grimaud visit on the way back from Saint-Tropez was very well worth the time as well.
Such a disappointment, driver was extremely rude, did not even introduced himself. He brought his wife with him and all he worried about was his wife from the temperature in the car to the music he played . He was not our guide, he was a driver and not a good one. Started driving with the automatic door open, extremely unsafe. Did not talk the entire way, only to his wife in a different language, not English. We had to ask him where we were when he stopped the car, we had no idea. He rushed the trip and dropped us off at the hotel at 5:30, apparently had some personal business to take care of. Completely dissatisfied, I used viator in the past, many times all around the world. But now I'm going to think twice. Was obvious that the driver hated his job. Sad
French Riviera Tours need to smarten up their act 4 of us went on this tour, we could have e taken an Uber for the price of two, up and down. I suggest French Riviera Tours provide at least a basic level of support by proving a paper map and some guidelines on highlights. We were dumped in St Tropez with no guidance whatsoever or a map, had to go looking for a map. The driver told us the places should have seen afterwards!!! The driver told us he could not take us to the sights he mentioned due to company guidelines. We don’t blame the driver we blame French Riviera tours I appreciate this is a non guided tour but some basic level of support is necessary to lift this from a mere Uber ride to a proper tour . We have done many tours in other countries Italy Greece etc but here in France the quality of the tours is not great.
Bottom line: packed into an old van (yes it’s a Mercedes but it’s old AF) and the air barely works and you are literally squeezed in, shoulder to shoulder, leg to leg, like suit cases in a cargo plane have more room than you will in this vehicle it should be illegal. Huge waste of time; 3 hours is not enough time to see or even get a taste of St. Tropez much less anywhere (I didn’t book this my husband did-last time I let him do that) then you are dropped off this small town for 40 minutes, which is pointless, the town is okay but there is nothing to do or see really (that can be done in 40 minutes). So Bottom line unless you want to waste your money, be in a sweaty inferno, packed in like a medieval torture chamber (vehicle), and waste a perfectly good day more time on the road than actually doing anything DO NOT DO THIS!!!! Spend the extra money (yes Uber is more expensive BUT worth it compared to this and you would then have the luxury of deciding when to arrive and when to leave) or just don’t go; this is not the place/time to be cheap! You will hate yourself for booking this and the people you drag with will hate you too! More Issues (in detail): 1. I paid the same as everyone else and the description says it starts at 9am BUT what they leave out is they will pick you up an hour early (8am) which is what they did in our case because they have to pick up the other parties (this doesn’t seem like such a big deal-I know), but we waited like 40 minutes for the second party! They should either have a central meeting place with a 10 minute grace period and if your late you should be left. It’s not fair to hold up the entire group/trip because you can’t be on time. 2. The driver made me and my husband sit up front with him because we were the only ones who were not obese. For reference I’m 5 foot tall and weigh 100 lbs and the drivers stick shift was literally in between my legs!!! Again this should be illegal!!! I was either on top of my husband (who was also uncomfortably crammed into the front seat with me) or the gross sweaty French driver who kept spraying himself with mist water because it was like an inferno inside!!! 3. The stop to the small town is literally a gigantic waste of time and pointless. By this point everyone just wants to go home. 4. The “scenic” sea side view you will get to see will give you whiplash at the speed at which our driver was traveling. His driving was super scary. Several times I thought we were going to die. 5. The day before the driver texted and said he would pick us up at 8am, again not happy about this because it was not as advertised, but I asked if since he was picking us up first if he could drop us off first since we had a reservation dinner. The driver said yes that would be fine. As we were coming back into Paris I reminded him and he said that would not be possible. He lied. WORST DAY EVER!!!!! Don’t do this trip!
This trip was ok. It’s hard to get to st tropez from nice. We got no commentary from nice. Just dropped off in saint Maxine and had 3 hours in st tropez. That included a 20 minute boat ride so really 2.5 hours. Then we went to port Gormand for 1 hour or so. There is a boat ride for like 10 euro. Hard to find clean bathrooms unless you spent your time in st tropez eating. I would have taken the ferry to st tropez and Uber to port gortmand. But I suppose the tour is easier. All the tour companies in French riveria have 8 seater uncomfortable vans. You are packed like sardines with 2 in front seat. But every company uses these vans for all their tours which is why for nearby towns it is worth it just to take train or Uber Seeing these towns is definitely worth it. The tour is the easiest. I would have liked more time.we were back by 530 so if this tour went to 7pm as advertised we would have had more time
Great excursion with good driver. St-Tropez is really nice and worth the trip. Green boat ride was a fun way to avoid traffic between Ste-Maxime and St-Tropez.
Terrible tour guide! I didn’t learn anything from your tour guide. It doesn’t look like he likes his job! He’s very short to everyone in the tour. We had a terrible 7 hours of experience for an expensive tour with your tour guide. We had to explore a wonderful place on our own!
Loved our singing guide, Valey. Not only did he have great knowledge of our tour sites, he kept us entertained with incredible opera singing on our journey. Best guide ever! Madelynn
Saint Tropez was beautiful. Loved the boat ride to get there. The tour operator was nice but hard to understand and he did not have a solid plan. The tour operator kept asking us what did we want to do. I have used Viator in the past and had a wonderful experience - this was not the case this time. The driver who was also the operator drove way too fast. I was glad we saw Saint Tropez but we were even happier when the tour was over.
Saint Tropez was really lovely and our tour guide was warm and friendly 😀 Overall a very good experience 👏
It was worth visiting the city. And the tour guide lovely Cici, friendly, hilarious, we enjoyed her company. I recommend visiting it in spring or summer.
CeCe was wonderful. I was the only one in her van and it was so easy to talk with her. She told my about the highlights in Saint Tropez... especially the La Tarte Tropezienne!! YUM!! My ticket back to Nice was taking a picture of biting into the delectable tarte! Great day! :) Roxy
The day trip with our guide Valy , was an amazing experience! Thank you for the recital! Recommended!
Saint Tropez was nice . Everything was good except the journey on the way back was terrible. The driver went through the mountain route rather then going through the highway back. The road was so dangerous and winding. We felt so uncomfortable.
Our driver was kind and timely but that our is really more of a driver taking you to specific destinations and it’s not as robust with information or activity ideas. There wasn’t a ton to do in St tropez or port grimaud but we entertained ourselves the entire time. The citadel/maritime museum took up most of our time in at tropez. The market is also very enjoyable. I think this tour could be improved with a little more tour guiding and information woven in but overall we enjoyed ourselves because we did a little of our own research on what to do in these towns.
Very disappointing experience with tour that turned out to be just an extremely expensive ride. The booking confirmation promised 10 hr tour accompanied by certified professional guide, also bottled water, and WiFi on board. Instead, we got barely English-speaking driver unable to answer basic tour related questions, no water, no WiFi. Driver would drop us off at designated stop, specify pick-up time and leave without expected tour narrative. She refused to stop for needed bathroom break, cut trip by 2 hrs but didn’t forget to demand five stars review several times. Don’t waste your time and serious money booking this tour.
Mostly good for shoppers or eaters. You spend about as much time in the car as in ports. Rush to church in St Tropez first, if you care to see it before it closes at noon. Then the citadel has great views. No time for castle or beach. In Port Grimaud, eat lunch (if you went sightseeing in ST) and do 1 euro view from tower, or boat the canals else there is little to see/do.
I had difficulty getting a response from the company about pick up time and contacted them multiple times so communication wasn't great. I agree with others that said the driver is more of a driver than a guide. He really didn't tell us much along the way. The bright spot was we got to go to St. Tropez, take a boat ride, see a couple of other small towns and some scenic lookouts. It was the only trip I could find from Nice to St. Tropez so it was better than not going.
I can’t remember our guides name, but he did an excellent job. Very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasant drive to the ferry and a few hours of free time in Saint Tropez. The ride home was the coastal route, which was beautiful. There was a 45 minute stop in Port Grimaud, a very cute town with great gelato. There were two other short stops at very scenic places. Good for photos and stretching out your legs. It’s a long ride. It was a long day but worth it!
It was our first experience in Nice with a small group to visit St. Tropez. I do recommend this activity. Thanks to Jean-Jacques who did a nice job in stopping for lots of memorable photo sessions while showing us around
Our tour guide was excellent; he was warm, kind, and very knowledgeable! We had a wonderful time, our only complaint is it would have been nice to have more time in Saint-Tropez as 2.5hrs just wasn’t enough time to fully explore and grab a bite to eat. Port Grimaud was lovely and we highly recommend the additional boat cruise through the town!
Same problem on the day before. This was not a tour. It was a driver who had zero knowledge of the area. In this case, his English was limited. He couldn’t respond to simple questions. Good driving and nice personal but we thought we were paying for a tour.
I enjoyed St. Tropez, but Port Grimaud was a peaceful and picturesque surprise. The driver was excellent. Don't hesitate to book it.
Spectacular and Best Way to see St Tropez in a day!!! To start our guide Celine got in touch a few days ahead so we knew what to expect for pick up and gave updates in route to pick us up due to traffic. If you have done research on how to get to St Tropez with ease, you will see it is next to impossible due to distance and location in relationship to public transportation access and schedules. This tour makes it possible and is a gem. Some tour details may be different; this was our day. We drove to St. Maxime. Took the ferry to arrive via the water and catch the postcard perfect view. Spent three hours on our own; in market, churches, eating Tarte Tropezienne, visiting inside Citadel for the other perfect view of the city and boats from above along with pano view of gulf of St Tropez. Met back up with group and continued on along a scenic seaside drive, to sweet scenic marina district in Grimaud with shops and cafes, before driving back to Nice. A delightful day for sure!!!
I enjoyed the ferry from across the bay and the view of all the boats as we pulled into the harbor. Great people watching, street performers, shopping and open air restaurants. Our driver Clinton was amazing, very informative and gave clear instructions.
With several people, it's not too expensive. We had a great time. Great discoveries from start to finish.
It was fun to visit St Tropez. The driver Antonio was very knowledgeable about the different towns and gave great history on the drive there and back.
The village was historic and picturesque and the visit to another town afterwards was a bonus. The tour guide was astute and informative.
Mathieu did a great job as our tour guide. He had a lot of knowledge about the different historic events that happened in the area and communicated very well in English. Loved the tour.
You do not get a tour you get a driver and unfortunately not a very good one. There were 8 adults stuffed into a van - 2 sitting in the front seat crowded with the driver. We were simply driven to a location and dropped off - no information on where to go or what to do in St Tropez no map just try to figure it out on your own and we were only there for 2 hours. Meeting instructions were vague at best; we literally ran around town trying to find it. Port Grimaud was the same, no information given. Best part of the day was a stop at a winery (which wasn’t on the itinerary). We have taken many Viator trips all over the world and the 4 of us agree this was the worst.
We really enjoyed this trip even though there was a lot of time in the vehicle. Since we were sitting in the front seat, we had the opportunity to play some trivia games about the French Riviera with our driver. We really enjoyed him.
