Despite the tour operator messaging us the day before to say they would pick us up at 1400, they were a no show. No contact, no apology, no explanation. Nothing! Since we were due to be collected at 1400 we had a lazy morning and by the time it was clear this was a no show from the firm, we had essentially wasted a day. I have asked for a full refund and had an automated message saying it’s coming but that’s no compensation for essentially wasting a whole days holiday and missing a trip. I do not recommend booking this trip as others have experienced the same! A terrible experience overall.
What review?? The driver never showed up! We waited 1 hr past the meet time. No one came. No one email. A big fat nothing! We have had many tours over the years with this group and we were looking forward to it! Not even a text message.
They are a scam. I booked months in advance and on the day I waited for an hour before I decided to message them, no response. I waited another hour and nothing. So I returned to my room and waited another half hour before requesting a refund. They immediately responded and declined the refund but I’m still waiting on a respond to my initial message. Viatour won’t give me a refund either.
Informative and comfortable tour led by a professional tour guide. Wine tasting was lovely and the scenery was fantastic!
What a fabulous day! Our driver Jack was very knowledgeable on all areas we traveled to and very friendly. The wine tasting was in a gorgeous setting and it was great to hear about the different varieties and how the wine is made. Stunning day!
Driver never turned up, absolute waste of time and money, avoid this tour!! We contacted the company the day before and they told us that we would be picked up at 2pm, we waited until 2.45 outside our hotel and no one turned up. We contacted the company 3 times and still no one responded to us!
It never happened and I haven't heard about a refund. I found out 2 hours before the winery was closed and we were leaving France the next day. We could not reschedule and no one has replied with a refund or other options.
The tour never picked us up, when contacting the company they said they were on their way and stopped responding. Waited outside for an hour with no further response.
Wonderful experience! The wine tasting was lovely. Beautiful area..very scenic, and the wines were all delicious. I especially liked the White & Rose wines. My friends & I really enjoyed St. Paul de Vence. Beautiful place! I could spend a day or 2 there! Would highly recommend this trip!
Vineyard was beautiful, wines were great and the owner was very informative, friendly and welcoming. All in all nice time for a 1/2 day out, only complaint was the drivers rushed us out right after the tasting. Would have like a little more time at the vineyard to try some of the other wines, explore and take pics.
Really enjoyed the wine tour and our guide David was very friendly and enthusiastic.Had an amazing time with friends . Would strongly recommend.
An amazing wine tasting experience for a great price! Tasted 5 delicious wines in a beautiful location over looking the hills of Provence on a stunning terrace. The transfer was great and picked us up from our choice of location. Took us to a cute village too. All in a great value for money
Terrible!!!!!!!!! They cancelled the tour twice!! They blamed the booking company but they later said it was the fault of the weather, which wasn’t bad. We waited to be picked up for 45 minutes before finding out!
Given incorrect directions for pick up both before and during the trip. Too much time in the van. No Narration of first stop or any sights along the way. Driver rushed and driving fast most of the time. Was not a wine tasting "tour". One stop for wine with minimal pours. Too many people in small cramped wine tasting room. This tour needs to be scrapped or totally redone.
David did an amazing job! Explained everything very well and gave us great recommendations! Amazing experience!!!!!
David was a great guide! We would definitely do this tour again it was so informative and enjoyable! We recommend! We learned a great amount about wine and Nice as well as touring a beautiful town!
Not worth it. The village was cool and I would have loved to stay there longer - an hour is not enough time. The wine tasting wasn’t worth it. They drove us to the vineyard and the winemaker was late so we just sat in the van for a bit. The winemaker talked at us for well over an hour and we only tried five wines - the amount was less than a thimble…it was wild how little wine we were given. The tour started way too late in the day which meant when we were done we sat in rush hour traffic on our way back.
Parfait was a spectacular guide! Very interesting explanation of the wine processing and the tasting was very enjoyable. Our time in St.Paul du Vence was shortened due to rain but it remains a beautiful 14th century village full of galleries and shops to explore!
We were driven to St. Paul de Vence, and had an hour to look around. It would have been nice to have had some tips about navigating the town. A map would have been helpful. It is a beautiful town and one hour is no-where near enough time to explore. Our wine taste was nice, but we were combined with another larger tour group which wasn't as described or expected. Our driver was very nice and polite and answered a lot of questions in the car.
Overall experience was below the expectation. In St Paul de Vince we had only 30 min. It's not enough time to even walk around 2 streets. I am not sure what is the point of brining people there for a such short amount of time. The driver was rushing to get to the winery, because they gather many different tours there at the same time. Wine tasing wasn't as good as expected. Was funny to see a tiny piece of chocolate that they offer to taste with one of the RED wine type.
It started off great with a friendly driver who was on time. We got a one hour stop in beautiful St Paul de Vence before we went to the wine tasting. To our surprise there were 30 Americans cramped together like kettle around one table and a really small area that didn’t have enough chairs for everyone. It was the most chaotic place with leftovers (old food, plates and dirty glasses) that filled another table. There was only one person in charge of the wine tasting - a stressed Chinese guy who had to pour wine to all the 33 tourists that were stewed together. He did not seem comfortable with the situation and only gave a brief and extremely superficial information about each wine. Each glass he poured only gave us two small sips, so it was actually kind of difficult to really taste the wine. It was the most impersonal and quick wine tasting I’ve ever experienced. I felt like their main focus was earning as much money as possible during a limited period of time. A complete waste of time and money! Moreover, the toilet was messy and disgusting, but the people in charge did not seem to care even if we told them about it. I would not recommend this trip!
Driver never showed up, contact number never picked up my call. Viator refuses to issue a refund. I’m lost for words.
Nicole was an amazing guide. She was very informative and we saw beautiful areas of the French Riveria !!! Highly recommend
Views were amazing, but we didn’t have enough time (by the time we got there, we only had 30 minutes) to explore St. Paul and overall tour felt very rushed.
Booked and paid for but got an email later saying we were cancelled, only discovered the email less than 2 hours before we were supposed to be collected! Very disappointed
My partner and I were super disappointed by how much of a let down this Wine tour was. Unfortunately for every positive, there was a negative… TRAVEL: Positive - they pick you up from your hotel which is super convincing. Negative - because of this (and dependant on the group size) they can run behind. In our case, we were picked up a whole 35 mins late. Which then leads to… THE FIRST STOP: Positive - you get to visit this gorgeous village and explore its streets. Negative - because we were already running so far being, instead of the advertised 1 hour allocation for this, we got 25 mins so we hardly got to see anything. THE WINE: Positive - absolutely delicious wine. Negative - instead of the advertised 6 wines, we only got 5 and they literally provide you with a thimble size tester! By the end of it, we probably only had 1 full glass each. And finally the biggest one… THE ORGANISATION: Positive - the lady running the tasting was super informative and passionate about what she was doing. Negative - she was completely let down by whoever organises these tour groups. It says that each group should consist of 24 people. Well, ours consisted of 38 as they had accidentally over booked and there were hardly any seats for everyone. And because of how late some groups were, half the people missed out on the introduction and first wine simply because their driver was late. Legitimately, the only reason this review is getting 2 stars and now 1 is because of our driver, Mtchedliani Daviti. He was so friendly and enthusiastic about what he was doing he practically saved this review from getting a 1. Do yourself a favour and opt for another tour.
This was an excellent way to spend an afternoon! David was our driver/tour guide and he was so lovely! Would highly recommend
We booked this tour weeks in advance to be notified of a cancellation the day before via text. Having agreed to reschedule for the following day we received no further contact, no pick up details or timings, nothing. We spent all morning trying to contact the company and sat around waiting! We tried calling them DOZENS of times! to no answer, they eventually blocked my number. Due to the late cancellation we can't claim a refund so will be contacting our credit card company to resolve this.
Do NOT book this trip. Well, you can book it and pay for it, but 4 hours before planned start. They cancel the trip without any form of reason. Very frivolous. Stay away from this and don’t plan your days around this “tour”.
Would avoid!!! I was contacted the day before to be informed that the tour was not able to go ahead but I was offered the following day. I accepted and asked what time we’d be collected. No response via message or phone call. My refund request has also just been rejected!
The tasting itself was fine. However, the pickup was 30 minutes late, which meant that the "tour" itself was really 1.5 hours - 30 minutes in St Paul de Vence and 1 hour tasting. The rest was driving in silence. If the pickup was in time, at least we would have had more time in town.
Hello We had an excellent trip today, with Parfait (perfect) as our guide. Extremely friendly and very accommodating to all the guests, picking us all up at our chosen destination and dropping us of wherever we wanted (we decided old town for dinner). The tour itself is great, you get to see a small beautiful french village and then have a very authentic wine tasting. Definitely recommend. Love from Scotland! 🏴
Jack was a great driver and guide for our tour. He picked us up early, indicated points of interest along the drives, and answered any questions we had. We visited Saint Paul De Vence, then tasted 5 wines at a unique winery. I've visited a few wineries, their traditional methods of growing and aging wine stood out. Good value for tourism, pick up and drop off, and the tastings.
A very enjoyable half day trip. We were collected, on time, to start our journey. We initially visited St Paul de Vence, a very lovely village which contained many cute shops and had a summer fete when we visited. Secondly, we visited Vignenoble Rasse, an 80 year old family run vineyard. The owner himself hosted our wine tasting, and told us about each wine, as well as the family history behind each one. I would definitely recommend!
The wine tasting experience itself was very good. Our host at the vineyard was very knowledgeable and personable, we also got to enjoy some beautiful views while enjoying our wine! However the journey to and from the wine tasting was only ok. We stopped off at a village to see the area and were told we had only 10 minutes to see the area however we were then waiting for almost 15 minutes for the driver to come back to take us to the cellar. The itinerary also told us we would visit the Jewel of Provence which we did not get to see. Finally we felt that we were rushed out of vineyard. We had paid for another glass of wine which we did not get to finishes because we were told we had to go. Had the transport to and from the vineyard been better it would have greatly improved our experience.
The wine was very good and the winemaker was an excellent host! However, our experience on the way there was not what we were expecting. We got a message saying that the pick up time would be at 2:20pm then we get a call at 2:00 saying that our driver was here and he was not happy with us. We said to him that we were told the pick up time was at 2:20 and he got even more angry. We were supposed to have this great tour and stop at this small town for an hour, that ended up being 20 minutes and he drove crazy and made everyone in the car carsick and afraid. He did not communicate with us the whole drive. We eventually got to the vineyard and got to taste 5 types of wine and headed back home. The driver ruined the experience for us!
This tour was not as described and was very disorganised. 2pm was the advertised start time. Message received that I would be picked up at 2.20pm. Minivan arrived at 2.40. Drove to Saint Paul de Vence, but if we wanted to stop for 30 mins (advertised as an hour) we would be at least 30 mins late for wine tasting. Finally got to the winery where we tasted 5 wines - not the advertised 6, wine was okay. I’ve been to many much better wine tastings in France.
The trip was amazing, our tour guide was so invested and just a very nice guy. We want to book another trip with this guide if possible.
Amazing trip! David was the best driver we have ever had on a tour! Great English skills, great sense of humor, very clear instructions. This was so much fun, St Paul du Vance was so much fun! Winery was beautiful, wine was good and the winemaker gave us the tasting himself! Beautiful scenery the whole time! If do it again!
We did NOT make it to our wine tasting. Our driver was ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES LATE. Before he arrived, he asked if our group (of 11 people) could walk ten minutes to a different spot than our designated pickup location. Since we have all ages and abilities with us, we said no. When he arrived, he stopped in the middle of the street, holding up traffic and split our group up because not everyone would fit in his vehicle. Because we had waited for over an hour, we were extremely hesitant to split up because we weren’t sure that the other vehicle would ever show up…which spoilers: it didn’t. For those of us that were in the van, our driver dodged every question including: What winery are you taking us to? Where is it located? He wouldn’t tell us ANYTHING. If it wasn’t for the driver messaging me via WhatsApp the day before to confirm our pickup location and time, I would think we were straight up being abducted. Which honestly, I’m still not confident that we weren’t. We asked to get out of the car. We did not trust this guy at ALL. Not only would he not let us out, he locked the doors and put on the child locks so we REALLY were trapped in the van. Eventually, after running through a light but running out of room to pull up, we were stopped and stuck on the train tracks. A TRAIN WAS ROLLING INTO THE STATION. I had to ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN AND OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. I was able to get out and open the back door for us all to pile out as fast as we could. Then he drove away. THAT was our experience with our “half day” wine tour. NEVER. AGAIN.
The trip was not as advertised. Our driver was 30 minutes late so we didn’t get to visit St Paul de Vence for a long time. He called us 15 minutes after the pickup should have been and said he was 10-15 minutes away, with no explanation of why. The driver didn’t even explain where we were or what to explore there, he just stopped the car and said we should meet him there in 50 minutes. The vineyard was nice, but only 5 different wines and very little of each. At the end our driver dropped us off by the side of the road, not near the hotel. Would not recommend this trip.
It was not a large group so we were able to ask questions. It was definitely a great tour and we enjoyed our private group so much we asked our guide to drop us off at a local restaurant and we all went to dinner together.
Definitely one of the best wine tours we have been to. There were only 8 people in our group so it felt very private. The tour guide was very funny and could interact with the group vibe very well. First we visited St.Paul du Vence. Unfortunately, we only had 30min to explore the village which was a bit too short. After we went to the vineyard. The wine tasting was done by the owners and we tasted 4 different wines and heard a bit about their history and wine making. Our tour guide also gave us some time afterwards to just sit and enjoy the sun and wine.
Our driver was lovely but our experience at the vineyard left a lot to be desired with young, uninterested, unhelpful staff.
Our driver Matt was friendly and attentive. He made the trip even more memorable for us! We liked the wine tour but the best part was the short walk around Provence (reminded us of the village from “Beauty and the Beast”)
David was a lovely knowledgeable tour guide. We were picked up promptly from our hotel and the winery we visited was beautiful. Would definitely recommend 😊
Our guide was a half hour late to pick us up and we felt cramped and rushed from place to place. But the town was lovely and the wine tasting was great.
Great tour. The driver was nice, friendly and courteous. The town of Saint Paul de Vence was beautiful. Enjoyed the wine tasting and the winery. Our host was lovely, and very knowledgeable. Met some fun people, would highly recommend.
They canceled the tour day of with no explanation. I received an email and that was it. I had messaged them twice before giving them my location and asking for the meetup location. No response.
