We had a wonderful day exploring the Verdon Gorge and the beautiful lavender landscapes of Provence. The scenery was absolutely stunning, especially the turquoise waters of the Verdon and the charming villages along the way. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful throughout the trip, and shared interesting stories about the region. The whole experience was well organised and enjoyable, with a great balance between sightseeing and relaxing. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nice who wants to discover the natural beauty of Provence!

The tour from Nice requires too much time spent in the car, and two little times seeing sites and Villages (e.g., in Moustiers Saint Marie, we only had time for lunch-did not see the Village at all). I’d recommend staying in Provence & picking up a tour from there, instead. Also, it is important to check the status of the lavender harvest before booking. In 2026, the heat caused an early bloom and harvest. Our driver had to work very hard to find one small Field with late-stage lavender, not the picturesque views we were expecting. In fact, Viator should not run this tour late in the season.
Huge gratitudes to Adam for the amazing excursion to the Verdon Gorge! His professionalism ensured we felt completely safe on the challenging mountain roads, and his engaging stories made the long journey seem effortless. Incredible turquoise water, breathtaking views, and impeccable organization—this trip for sure will be a memorable one!
Beautiful views! Our guide was a bit grumpy, and talked a lot about the politics, which I didn’t appreciate. Also we only stopped for 15 min st each little town, I would like to have more time to explore
We are airline crew and very experienced travelers obviously. The driver had little knowledge of any of the towns we visited and then was upset when our lunch was delayed. He said I should have txt him but I had told him I did not have a contact for him and he did not have a card. Instead of calling on WhatsApp he called on my direct US line🙈. And then just took us to the first lavender field there was and said this is it. Sad…it could have been a lovely day had he had a bit of knowledge and maybe a couple of recommendations for lunch. I have to say in the past Viator has been good and I have recommended it but I may take a step back.
We booked this tour mainly for the lavender fields. A little over a week before our tour date, I reached out to the company via Viator to ask whether the lavender were still available but they never replied. On the day of the tour, our guide Jack did the best he could, knowing that our main reason for booking this tour was to see the lavender fields. He went above and beyond and asked around to other tour guides to try and help us find some. I’m extremely disappointed in the company however for their lack of communication. If we had known the lavender was harvested already, we would have cancelled the tour.
We had an amazing time on this tour! The scenery looked like it came straight out of a postcard! Our guide, Alessandro, was so informative and friendly. We learned a lot about the region and got some amazing pictures. So far it’s been the highlight of our vacation! Would definitely recommend this tour.
It was a beautiful region and the tour guide, Alessandro was great. I’d recommend this tour. Getting in an out of Niece made for a long day though. The only thing negative was that Viator said that bottled water was included but the tour guide said it wasn’t included by his company. However, he did give us water out of his on stash. There’s a misunderstanding somewhere. I would recommend this tour with a small group of family or friends.
I booked a tour for my elderly mom. She waited 2 hours for them, they never picked her up nor told her they canceled her tour. When I reached out they blocked me and never answered. TERRIBLE experience, she woke up at 5 AM for this company to do this.
We had a great day with Aleksander, who took us for an epic journey through the beautiful gorge and the many vistas therein. He told us about the history of the various towns and villages along the way, while expertly navigating the narrow and sometimes heavily-trafficked road along the way. The changing landscape was fascinating from the comfort of the van we were in and the stops along the way were interesting and fun for the whole family. The deep cuts through the sedimentary rock and the many different colors thereof were beautiful to behold. By virtue of being a private tour, changes can be made easily. We opted to spend more time in the first village (beautiful!), enjoy a lovely lunch and lavender ice cream, followed by lengthy swimming and a short visit to the lavender fields rather than visiting both villages. But that’s the thing, Aleksander will customize your visit as needed so you come away super happy. We were super fortunate to spend the day with him and to enjoy all the vistas, history, and unique character of the regions we crossed.
My mom and I did a private tour from Nice to the Lavender Fields with Jaba as our tour guide. Simply put, the entire experience was outstanding. Jaba was incredible - a fantastic and safe driver, a kind and thoughtful individual, and a smart and fascinating person to chat with. He was so attentive to our needs and made sure we had a phenomenal time, fully customizing the experience and making sure we got the very best viewpoints at each stop, etc… it was a long, lovely day and certainly a memorable one! The lavender fields were gorgeous (make sure they’re in season before you book), the towns were adorable, and the lake was breathtaking (bring a bathing suit for this part). I would recommend this tour, especially if you are able to get Jaba as your guide! I can’t say enough wonderful things about him.
I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this tour company. Less than 24 hours before our scheduled tour, Jennifer informed us that it was canceled due to road closures. There was no apology or attempt to accommodate us. Instead, they offered to reschedule the tour for the next day, which was not feasible for our plans. This explanation turned out to be a lie, as we managed to book a last-minute tour with another company for the same sites without any issues. When I requested a refund, the operator said "ok." However, the next day, they still had not officially canceled the tour or issued a refund, even though they claimed they had when I followed up. I had to call Viator support, who cleared it up and issued a refund in minutes. We had been planning this trip for months, and this tour was supposed to be a highlight. It seems likely that they either double booked or had car trouble, but I would have preferred if they had been honest about the reason for the cancellation. The last-minute cancellation was not only frustrating but also deeply disappointing. This company should be removed from Viator to prevent others from experiencing the same hassle. Avoid booking with them unless you're willing to gamble with your vacation plans.
Proposed to my girlfriend on this tour just about a year ago (early July 2023). The lavender fields were in full bloom, it was gorgeous. Took a while to get there but it was worth it. The little town where we had lunch at was also great. Our driver was great and executed my plan perfectly!
Our tour guide, Xu Bin was on time and explained everything well. Apart from that, the entire trip was well planned and we get to see lavender fields.
Nice driver, nice spots, nice experience. Not suitable for people who might have sickness from longer ways via car due to mountains roads but we liked the trip!!
Our guide Mathew was excellent.Stopped in a lot of photo spots along the way which we would have never known if we drove ourselves. Always checking on us even while driving if everyone ok. We noticed he cares a lot about the environment very knowledgeable. Highly recommended! Made this tour really memorable.
Ask to rent a boat at the gorgés du verdon! Best part of the day. Can easily skip out on time in the smaller towns and still see everything.
Roman was a great guide. Made the day very informative and exciting Went the extra mile to make sure we had a great day.
The place was beautiful and definitely worth it!! Our guide Francois was very kind and explained all the history along the way. We recommend it!
We took a tour in the verdon with a guide of french riviera sightseeing tours We loved many explanations she answered all our questions and even organized us the tour so we could enjoy the lake. Thank you again for a wonderful day
