Itinerary
Grasse is a major town in the middle country of the French Riviera located in the west of the department of Alpes-Maritimes 12 km north of Cannes on the Mediterranean coast. Grasse is the world capital of perfume, supplanting Montpellier whose Faculty of Pharmacy was the source of the creation of ointments and perfumes. Discover its cobblestone streets dating back to medieval times and its historic buildings.
Installed since 1926 in this magnificent factory, tannery in the 18th century, it became a perfumery factory at the very beginning of the following century. Completely renovated and sublimated in 2013, it offers an original journey of discovery of the mysteries of traditional perfumery, from the processing of raw materials to the packaging of finished products. The machines used, from copper stills to soap workshops, offer historical, social and cultural interest in the techniques and working conditions governing family perfumery until the 1950s.
Located in the mountains of the meadows of the Alps , Gourdon enjoys breathtaking views. Enjoy these small shops with local specialties such as family glassware or artisanal confectionery.
Discover the traditional know-how, fused with an unparalleled love for the vine, that gives birth to great organic wines. These unique grape varieties, Rolle for white, Braquet for rosé and Folle Noire and Grenache for red, reflect the typicality and character of these rare wines.

Just arrived back from a great day out on the perfume and wine tasting tour. Billie, our guard, was fantastic, communication was excellent, both prior to pick up and during the tour. She was very informative regarding the tour, the history of Nice and the places we stopped at. Would definitely recommend this tour, it gives you an insight about perfume making and wine production along with some lovely towns to explore, all in a relaxed environment at a great cost. There were only 4 on the tour of which the two young ladies with us also made the day a success
The tour was very relaxed, our guide was very nice and easy to understand and was knowledgeable about the area. I would recommend this tour, it was enjoyable, laid back and very enjoyable. Well done!
From start to finish this trip was superb. My husband and I had been wanting to visit this area for years and it was a dream come true. From the Grasse perfumerie , to the wine tasting it was a delight to the senses. The Provençal villages are steeped in history and beautifully preserved. Our guide Jaoued was knowledgable, professional and went the extra mile to make sure we had wonderful time. This trip well exceeded all our expectations and we have memories to treasure. I would highly recommend this tour - it was magical.
Our guide was knowledgeable but also gave us space to explore independently. That balance worked really well for us.It was nice to sit down after exploring all day and discover some local Provençal wines.
Casa Blanca Ben was amazing !!! He made are tour so enjoyable. He was prompt , polite and well versed in explaining everything. A wonderful time.
For me, the highlight was seeing a completely different side of the French Riviera. Away from the busy streets of Nice, everything became quieter and more traditional. Grasse had its own unique charm, the villages were beautiful, and the wine tasting was a relaxed ending to a wonderful day.
A day full of beautiful smells, stone streets, countryside views and good wine, what’s not to like? 😄 Grasse was fascinating, the villages were incredibly photogenic, and the tasting was a fun way to learn more about the region.
We were lucky enough to get Ben as our tour guide. With 17+ years of experience, he was very knowledgeable in describing the history of the places we visited. Ben was fluent in English which made it very easy and comfortable to converse with him. Overall the tour was interesting and charming. Highly recommend Ben and Viator.
I came mainly for the wine tasting but ended up loving the perfume experience and villages just as much. Every stop offered something completely different.
Grasse was a real surprise for us. The perfume history, beautiful surroundings, and charming Provençal atmosphere made this part of the tour especially memorable.
A fantastic combination of food, culture, scenery, and local traditions. The wine tasting was enjoyable and the villages around Grasse were absolutely gorgeous.
This excursion deserves more attention. It offers a completely different perspective on the French Riviera beyond the beaches. If I return to Nice, this will definitely be one of the first tours I book again. It was relaxing, scenic, and full of authentic local experiences.
After spending days along the coast, it was refreshing to discover the countryside and local traditions. The regional wines reflected the character of Provence, making the tasting feel authentic and memorable.
The wines were delicious, and the relaxed setting made the experience even better. The villages were incredibly picturesque, and the viewpoints were some of the best we saw during our stay.
We booked this as a group and had the best time. Everyone loved the perfume workshop in Grasse, and relaxing over local wine in the villages was such a treat. Unforgettable Riviera memories!
Huge thanks to our driver/guide! They knew all the best spots in the villages away from the huge crowds. The wine selection was delicious too!
Three amazing things in one single day: A great cultural experience at the perfume factory in Grasse. Time to explore authentic, charming French villages. A delicious and educational local wine tasting. The transport was comfortable, the schedule was simple, and we never felt rushed. 10 out of 10!"
If you had to choose: A lifetime supply of world-class Grasse perfume, or unlimited Provencal wine? (Don’t make me choose! 🫣)
Medieval charm, fine wine, and endless blooms. Can’t ask for more.Highly recommend if you want to experience the true charm of Provence!
A fantastic selection. The local wine tasting was fun and we learned a lot about Provencal flavors. The timeline was very simple and gave us enough free time at every stop.
The guide was amazing . We had a good visiting the perfume factory and the médiéval villages of Grasse and Gourdon . We finish by a local vignard very interesting.
Wine, perfume, and fairytale French villages? Say less! 🍷🌸 If you are staying in Nice, you have to book this. It takes you away from the usual tourist spots and deep into the gorgeous Provencal lifestyle. My camera roll is completely full. 10/10 recommendation!
Billie was an amazing guide and the tour allowed us to visit Grasse and Gourdon, then ending with an amazing wine tasting experience. Highly recommended !
Billy was amazing and we had a great time! She spoke eloquently, was warm, and kind and told us so much of the history too 🌻
We had a wonderful time saw lots of beautiful villages in the countryside, and wonderful Mountain views. The tour guide herself was excellent and we appreciated all of her helpful insights.
Grasse was a lovely stop where we learned about perfume making. The medieval villages were our favorite part—so quiet, historic, and full of flowers. To finish the day, the local wine tasting was excellent. The wine was high quality and the atmosphere was very peaceful.
Amazing tour begining go end. Billie is a proud local and her love and passion for the region made the tour really special. She's also a very fun person and it felt like you were being shown around by a friend. We especially enjoyed the vineyard tour which was unique and unlike any I had taken before. We also had the best meal of our stay in Gourdon which Billie had reserved in advance. She also provided great recommendations which made our stay better beyond the tour itself. Do yourself a favor and take this tour. If we had longer we would have booked addition tours with Billie and will be recommending it to all our friends and hope to also take ourselves next time we're in the area.
A very enjoyable excursion from Nice. The landscapes were beautiful and the villages felt like stepping back in time. The local wine tasting was excellent, and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable.
Billie provided my daughter and I with a wonderful trip to Grasse, Gourdon, and a lovely organic, family-owned winery. The region is beautiful, and Billie curated a fantastic experience for us: we had a great day enjoying the sights, scents, tastes, and tactile goods of Southern France. We also loved the balance of learning about the region from Billie and spending some alone-time to explore. I highly recommend this experience!
We did the coach tour of Grasse, Gourdon, and visited a winery. Our guide was lovely, talkative, and very knowledgeable about Nice and the surrounding area. The factor of Fragonard was interesting and lunch with a view from Gourdon was nice. The highlight of the trip was the wine tasting at a stop were wine had been cultivated since Roman times.
Honestly, Gourdon felt like another world! Grasse was lovely (smelled amazing), but those stone streets and views in Gourdon were something else. Our guide was super chill and shared some cool local secrets. It was a very laid-back day, finishing with wine and good vibes.
Spectacular views and a very relaxed atmosphere. The walking tour was easy to follow, and the guide was great. The sunset wine tasting was the perfect finishing touch. A must-visit!
Gourdon was much calmer, perched high with insane views. The guide explained things in a really casual way. Walking around was easy and enjoyable. The wine tasting at the end, watching the sun set over the hills, was probably my favorite part of the day.
Grasse had all these tiny streets and shops that smelled like flowers and perfume. Gourdon felt like stepping into another world—quiet, stone streets, and views that make you stop every few steps. The guide shared cool local tips and history along the way. Walking around and taking photos was super easy. Wine tasting at the end was a nice way to kick back and enjoy the vibe.
Had a wonderful time. Tour was a fun experience learning about the cities. The wine tasting was fun & educational. Would recommend tour for someone wanting to see French mountain countryside ending with wine .
The trip was a nice experience with many new places and experiences. The guide spoke good English and was very pleasant to talk to. Something negative with the pickup arrangement, there were wrong updates between the guide and Tripadvisor.
