Countryside Tour

The tour operators did not turn up at the designated meeting point as provided on a Google maps link. Tried to phone for information several times and had no reply. French speakers tried to help by leaving messages for us, Very very disappointing and frustrating.

The tour itself wasn’t bad. There was a lot of driving to see just a few spots. The big issue was the driver (I wouldn’t call him a guide, he hardly talked). He just basically went from point to point and dropped us off.

Although I reached out multiple times about the time to be at the hotel stop, I chose, I never heard from the Tour operator. I had to call Viator and was told to be there 30 minutes early. When I went to the hotel that was on the list the manager told me they do not have a stop there and told me to walk to the beach. I went to the exact spot and could not find the Tour bus. I reached out to get a refund. I do not recommend this Tour. It is not well organized, and the communication is very poor.

Excellent half-day excursion and well worth the money. The views of Gourdon were mind-blowing! Highly recommend this. Our guide Peter, was very thoughful and friendly.

No one ever showed up to pick us up. They claimed we were outside of a pick up location even tho it was confirmed in the itinerary and confirmed thru the messaging on the visitor app. No one ever contacted me to let me know they were lost or late. Very unprofessional and ruined and wasted an entire day and my time.

Saw some beautiful villages at Christmastime. Wish the tour started earlier in the day since it was dark by the last two stops, but Christmas lights in the villages made up for it.

Same as for so many others: -we showed up 30min before pickup, then -no show -no message -no phone answered I wonder why...

Tour wasn’t available on date of booking. No response about refund. Stopped responding to messages. Based on the reviews from other people on here, I’m shocked Tripadvisor still allow it to use its platform.

Fantastic tour Jaba was a great driver and very informative really enjoyed it. Took his time with us explaining history of areas and telling us useful information

I would give zero stars if I could. I booked the afternoon tour for two on August 12. The day before, I received confirmation that we would be picked up from our hotel at 2:00 PM. We were back at the hotel by 1:00 PM and I even informed reception that we were expecting a pickup for a tour. At 1:50 PM we waited outside, but nobody showed up. At 2:05 PM I sent a message to the tour operator saying we were outside waiting—no reply. I tried calling them, but nobody answered. I then contacted Viator (since I had booked through them), and even they couldn’t reach the operator. We kept waiting until after 2:30 PM, but no one ever came. I requested a refund, but the operator refused without any explanation. Our plans were ruined, and we missed the chance to see Grasse and the mountain villages. It left us frustrated and disappointed, turning what should have been a wonderful vacation memory into a bitter experience. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries across 4 continents and taken countless tours with local operators—this is the first time I’ve encountered such unprofessional behavior. Avoid French Riviera Sightseeing at all costs!

This tour is a fraud. After confirming the previous day the pick-up, no one showed up to pick us up for the tour. Waited for more than half an hour. Avoid this tour operator at all cost.

Great trip, very informative guide, lovely guests. Comfortable transport. Loved the perfume factory.

They didn't turn up, even though they confirmed the pickup location the night before. No further communication from them despite several attempts on my part. Very disappointed and very unimpressed.

Amazing tour. This tour will bring you to places which will make you feel as if you are in some fairytale land. Definitely not to be missed if you are in French Riveria rather visit to French Riveria so that you can see these places.

Nobody picked me up at my hotel, I missed the entire tour yesterday. No email, text or call. I am very angry with French Riviera Services and will be applying for a refund.

David was the best tour guide!! We went to the little old city town with restaurants and stores and then went on a wine tour where we tried many wines and chocolates. Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend it!!

The towns were very pretty and our guide was knowledgeable about what was around us at the time. He also gave us suggestions of where to eat in Nice. If you get the chance, do the tour in the morning if you do it late in the year. Sun sets early this time of the year. It was very nice to see the town of Tourettes sur Loup after dark with the Christmas lights on

The most stunning views! Our tour guide was hilarious, so sweet and thoughtful. She gave us restaurant and area tips. I hope the tour company sees this and gives her a raise 🙃

Although the road was windy Matt handled it with ease. He gave us an enjoyable trip to the Provence countryside while driving the roads safely like an expert. We loved our tour.

CANNOT BE TRUSTED! Told me to meet at location for 2:00pm, I arrived 15 mins earlier and am still here 30 minutes past “departure time”. Nobody even showed up and they fail to respond to my messages. Save your money and your time! Absolutely ridiculous.

The views and the waterfall were great. Pick up was not communicated to driver so nearly missed the trip but was fine in the end. The perfume factory was interesting and learnt a bit about perfume and that you shouldn't store it in sunlight as it looses its smell or nose. There is a lift to get up to the second floor where we saw them producing soap shaped like eggs.

Scammers and thieves!! Booked a tour with them, paid 150eur. They call on the day of the tour to move it even though we booked it at an available slot. Then on the new day we agree upon they don't show up. We have called over and over again, sent emails and messages, but we are being ghosted. They litterally ran away with our money and made sure they would never pick up the phone when we rang. Scam, scam, scam, don't ever book with them

We had a fantastic trip into the hills around Nice , the driver Parfait was excellent, the small group of 7 people worked well, very friendly

Stunning views, beautiful villages, we wished to have more time to spend there. Our driver Doto was very funny and friendly, drove us at the lower speed up in the mountains. Is not good for people who are scared of heights but I don’t regret the experience.

A very enjoyable trip, with our guide, George. We covered a lot of the countryside which was stunningly beautiful. We learned about each site and George contributed some local history as well.

The tour to Grasse and the countryside was spectacular. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. Be sure to ask your tour guide to take you through old town Grasse to see all the pink umbrellas.

Calling it a tour is a stretch as our driver never provided information about what we were seeing. He acted more like he didn't want to be there. I would describe it as a taxi service that included these locations. Granted the driving was challenging and he did have to pay attention to that. He needed lots more training or better yet, another career. Expectations must be kept low, but it did get us into the countryside which we could have not done ourselves. That's the most positive description I can give of the experience. I would not trust any tour provided by French Riviera Touring.

A perfect afternoon exploring the French Countryside. Nicole was very knowledgeable about each historic village and each castle. She was patient and even stopped per our request to give us a chance to take a photo of the outside view of Gourdon. She provided tips along the tour as well stories about each of the historic mideivel villages we visited. We traveled with 2 kids who enjoyed the tour. So much to learn from food, culture and history! We were a bit hesitant about the time and how long the tour was and it was a perfect amount of time to visit, view and explore (to maximize your visit since stops are shorter in duration , I would recommend eating before the trip)

Very small car. I and my whife had to sit in front next to the driver in an inconvenient position and sqeezed i. All together nine people in a full van. Guide had very poor knowledge in languages and objects to see on the tour.

The places we visited were good - Gourdon (view of Nice being spectacular), Waterfall (which was beautiful), St. Paul (cute town with so much exhibits), Fragonard (perfume factory was good). The guide Parafat was excellent, kind, respectful and on time. We weren't happy with the very less time we spent at St. Paul, and Viator described the tour to be 6 hours whereas the guide mentioned and showed us on GetYourGuide that it was 5 hours only. He mentioned that Viator was incorrect. This isn't our concern really, and the extra hour would have made a huge difference to the entire trip. Shocked how different information is conveyed to customers than reality. Very unhappy.

They didn’t show up. They didn’t call. We waited 45 minutes. Only when we called did we find out, supposedly, they were at the wrong place. Wretched experience.

Giving this excursion 3 is being generous. First of all, our tour guide seemed to be in a rush from the start. I was picked up on time, however the first three stops were for, at most, 10 minutes a piece. This was NOT a countryside tour, but a mountainside tour. The guide drove VERY fast along the Alps' mountainside; so fast I texted my family back home telling them so and I loved them. The guide also did not give very much detail about the places we visited. I had taken a different trip the day before and visited the first and last places then. I ended up telling the other people on the trip about what I had learned the day before! I should have been the paid guide. Also, this was NOT a half day tour - it was 4 hours, advertised as 6! Will not use this travel company again. The guide's name was Jacques (Jack).

John was a very fun and interactive driver. We felt very welcome, and had a lot of fun getting out of the city to see a few hard to reach places! The roads are very windy as we were taken through the gorges, be weary if you get car sick easily!

Great experience. Our guide, Roman, told great little stories about the beautiful villages. He would drive awhile, then start us with a little story or information about the beautiful place, then allow plenty of free time for exploration, then drive again, etc.

Amazing tour! In addition to seeing and experiencing the itinerary items, guide Matt painted the whole picture of each place with historical facts and his personal experiences. Matt also did a great job of balancing guided and self-guided time; allowing the opportunity to explore. Highly recommend the trip with Matt.

I had a wonderful tour to the countryside of France our guide was great. Warning… the roads are curvy and if you get car sick easily you may to be in the front seat. Great tour highly recommend.

Roman was a great tour guide and we had our best tour yet!! We saw more than we thought we would and even drove on the road that the Tour de France and had gone on!!!

It’s a nice way to get out of the city and explore the surrounding countryside. Our driver, Matt, was engaging and friendly, and spoke relatively good English. I’d recommend this tour

I enjoyed this tour very much. However, there were to many stops in half-day tour and not enough time in each place

Unfortunately after over twenty years using Viator this time round we had a terrible experience ! We were sent a rude and u safe guide - driver who just wanted the tour to end asap as he had another tour at six pm when our tour started at 1400 and should have six hours . He never not once explained where we are going where we are and where to go. He just dumped us in each place telling us we have 20 mins instead of the +\ - one hour we should have had. Very disappointing reply from Viator as well

My wife, who works in the perfume industry, absolutely wanted to pass through this village. I followed her, I also loved it

The tour was cancelled due to not enough participants. No problem. Problem was that the company didn't inform me until 8pm the evening before, only because I kept writing emails asking what is the pick up time from the hotel and getting no answer, asking my hotel reception to call them with them not answering the phone call, eventually they communicated via email saying the trip is cancelled. That was on a Saturday evening between 8-9, while I was getting ready to attend a theatrical performance, and having to handle all this, to take advantage of my free Sunday to go sightseeing in the region. Communication is not their strong point. However, I managed to go on the only available tour on the day and had a very lovely experience of the guide/ driver Monsieur Nicholas. He was professional, punctual, knowledgeable, made the participants feel as a group and enjoy the tour. That a full day Riviera tour Monaco, Eze, Saint Paul de Vence, Antibes, Cannes

Hugely disappointed with this tour. Nothing like described. The itinerary under what to expect said one hour in Grasse, discover Grasse. The whole time was spent in the perfume factory. Next it said one hour in Gourdon. We got 20 minutes there. Next was Tourrettes. Supposed to be there for one hour. Spent 10 minutes at the underwhelming waterfall then a quick drive through Tourretttes without stopping. Last on the itinerary was St. Paul de Vence. Supposed to be there for 1 hour 30 minutes. We had 50 minutes there but arrived as all the stores were closing. Also listed under inclusions was professional guide. Theo was very nice but definitely not a professional guide. Bottled water, we had to ask for it and we’re offered warm bottles from the trunk of the car. WiFi on board, NOT. In addition it took many weeks and multiple emails to get any response to my request to set a pick up location. If this is an example of your tours, I definitely won’t be taking any in the future.

This tour was very nice and gave us a good chance to see the countryside. Our tour guide Chu was very personable and friendly. It was nice to travel by air conditioned vehicle in August. There were plenty of good views, but this tour does run late so make sure to bring something to eat because you won't get enough time at each stop to sit down at a restaurant for dinner.

You can consider this a drive not a tour ! So manage your expectations so you enjoy it. We went with a car, no wifi on board , no guide only the driver and even the bottle of water was not offered. But it’s a good way to explore the country side . Better than public transportation.

Really glad we did this tour, it took you to towns and villages you maybe wouldn't usually see on a trip to Nice. Our driver picked us up from our hotel at the time arranged. The car was very clean we were picked up in and the driver was friendly. We visited Grasse, Gourdon, the waterfall at Gorges du Loup and St Paul de Vence. The perfume factory tour in Grasse was included as part of the trip.
