This was easily the best experience we had in NYC and an absolute must-do for any visitor. The tour perfectly showcased the diversity of New York pizza—from the legendary coal-fired pies at John’s of Bleecker, to the classic, no-frills New York slices at Joe’s Pizza, to the authentic Neapolitan craftsmanship at Song’ E Napule. Each stop highlighted a completely different style, and our guide David brought it all to life with engaging stories, deep knowledge of pizza traditions, and a genuine passion for the craft. The pacing was great, the group was fun, and every slice was memorable—highly recommend!

OMG! Total 5 star experience!! Was visiting my brother in New York and signed up for a Scott’s pizza tour on the recommendation of several family members who had previously done them and loved!! We loved it too! We met David at John’s on Bleecker St and he immediately struck up a conversation and was hilarious. I loved all 3 pizza places we visited and was so impressed by how well David connected with all group members including my two girls (ages 10 and almost 8) throughout! David’s Pizza knowledge was terrific as well. We loved the experience so much ! Can’t wait to do it again!
Dan was an amazing pizza tour guide for our pizza experience. We were so impressed by his knowledge and dedication to the pizza craft. I would definitely like to take his bus tour or even his private pizza tour to unlock more of Dan’s or Scott’s pizza knowledge . This was a great day wondering around in NYC, while also enjoying some delicious pizza. Thank you Dan for opening my eye on how to more efficiently handle my at home pizza creations
Great! The pizza was very good and being able to cut the long lines and go in the pizza shops before they open was great
We had our tour with David. He was so informative and super friendly. We went to John’s then went to L’Industrie Pizzeria and ended up at Denino’s Pizzeria and Tavern. The pizza was delicious at all of them. Highly recommend this tour.
Our guide , Laura, was great. Knowledgeable and personable. We went to 3 different pizza spots, all packed, to sample 3 different styles of pizza. There was ample pizza, though including a nonalcoholic drink would have been nice. Our tour had 5 people, which was nice. Great way to spend a couple hours.
Our family, 2 adults, 14 and 12 year olds absolutely loved this tour. Our guide was informative, we learnt so much about pizza, both the history and ingredients. The pizza restaurants chosen really showed how the different sauce, cheese and oven used can alter the texture and taste. All the pizzas were delicious, but we definitely had a favourite (you’ll make up your own mind). Highly recommend and when we return to NYC we’ll be back to try more.
This your was so fun!! We had a great time from the offset. Our tour guide David was so funny and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves and involved. We tried some amazing pizza and learned a lot! It's also a fantastic way to see the city and meet some new people. Would highly recommend this tour!
Just brilliant. can not FAULT this tour. and great value.Host brilliant 3 differant pizzas and history of area incl in tour. BOOK IT
This was one of my favourite NY experiences!!! Having travelled to the City with my boyfriend and friend from the UK to celebrate my 40th Birthday, we took the tour on Valentines day. IMMEDIATELY, David made us feel welcome at John's; the longest serving pizzeria in NYC, and uses a coal oven. The history was fascinating, and included props (coal) which delighted my boyfriend who was able to share his family history of coal mining in the Old York (Yorkshire :) ). We then visited Lindustrie, which has only been opened for 18 months, and uses innovative and modern techniques with their dough. Our final stop was Brunetti, whose pizza's have traditional Naples vibes. Here, David told us about how the concept of pizza originated, and we got to try dough (from their wood oven), sauce and cheese all separately before enjoying a slice. The whole experience was SO much fun and really interesting. The walk trough Greenwich Village, where we got a photo opportunity at the friends Village was a real bonus, with much more tranquil and communal atmosphere than midtown Manhattan. To document and commemorate the tour, we were given a pizza lover's wristband, pencil and notebook, where we were able to rate every aspect of each slice, with a bonus recipe at the back. My friend had done the tour with Scott almost 10 years previously with her Husband and had recommended, and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I had been hesitant to commit several hours just to pizza being there is SO much to see and do in New York, but this was the best spent 3 hours! When David asked which of the 3 was our favourite, I absolutely could not decide, as they were all unique and DELICIOUS!
Dave the tour guide is really terrific and very knowledgeable. He makes the experience both fun and educational. It doubles as a fun walk tour of the West village of New York.
Visited three restaurants all serving great pizza. Easy walking. very informative tour guide. Call fired was the absolute best. John’s on Bleecker Street exceeded all expectations.
I don't write a lot of reviews, but this was a highlight of our trip. Our guide, David, was so knowledgeable and made the tour a lot fun. My kids loved it as well. We would highly recommend adding this to your itinerary.
What’s not to like about spending a couple of hours strolling around Greenwich Village trying out 3 different types of pizza and learning a lot about the neighbourhood and the evolution of pizza in NYC. We had a great time sampling pizza at 3 iconic NYC pizza establishments - Johns, Joes and Bens. Laura, our guide, was great. We loved her enthusiasm, knowledge and humour. Would highly recommend this tour
Where do I begin? March 2020. I had booked many activities for my one-week trip to NYC. And that's when the world came to a screeching halt. Scott kindly refunded me, and I promised to rebook on my next trip to the Big Apple. Promise kept. David was an outstanding and enthusiastic guide. He engaged the teenagers on the tour, showing great sensitivity to their needs and interests. What of wealth of information regarding just one type of food! Very educational. The icing on the cake was when Scott joined us for a few minutes to share his unbridled passion for his most favourite dish. I'm very much looking forward to my next trip to NYC, so I can go on another one of Scott's Pizza Tours.
Our trip would not have been complete without this pizza tour! It was so fun, the pizza was delicious, and learning the intricacies of pizza making was amazing! The bonus was our amazing host, David, and walking the neighborhood of Greenwich Village.
David was our guide for the Greenwich Village walking tour for myself and my 11 and 8 year old grandchildren. My granddaughter summed it up beautifully when I asked for her review. David was kind. He involved my 8-year old grandson. He answered all the questions really well and made sure that the kids understood the answers. From my point of view I would recommend this as a fun few hours, a delicious lunch at John's, Joe's Pizza and Song'E Napule and we all came away understanding much more about pizza! Thank you David.
I'm really glad we booked this tour, as I was a little hesitant with only going to 3 places. Laura was great and very knowledgeable. It was fun!
Great your and great pizza! Lower east side very walkable . Generous slices. Our guide was wonderful
What a fab tour today with David! He was clearly very passionate about pizza and provided us with a really informative and tasty tour around Greenwich Village (a beautiful area to have to eat pizza in!) thanks guys! Highly recommended.
Awesome experience! We really enjoyed hearing about the history of pizza in NY AND being able to sample and "critique" three different pizza establishments serving three different types of pizza.
David took us to three distinctive pizzerias in and around Greenwich Village and it was a blast. Our group was comprised of a mix of locals, tourists, couples, and families, and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. We also learned a lot about the pizza making process and the wide variety of ways that simple ingredients become quality pizza. We were full and happy by the end.
This was SO fun!!! I highly recommend! All of the pizza was amazing and we even got a pizza journal to document everything. :) Great for adults and kids.
We went to the Greenwich Village tour in June while visiting from England. It was incredible! Amy our guide was so knowledgeable about all styles of pizza and so enthusiastic! After each pizza she asked us to review the crust, sauce and then the cheese. We were also given a history lesson in NY and pizza from Naples. She even gave us great recommendations for other pizza places and cookies! On her suggestion we ended up having a wild night in a Brooklyn pizzeria. Before we went on the tour we thought it looked a little expensive but it was totally worth it!
Amy was great! She was very nice and knew everything about pizza. The tour was very succesfull. Thank you
We had a great time with Dan and learned so much about pizza and pizza making. This is not a NY tour but it’s a pizza tour. We walked from Greenwich Village to Soho in the rain and each of the 3 stops had unique pizza.
This was a great tour - my wife and i thought pizza was pizza and we found that not to be true. Our guide Dan was very knowledeable, very interesting and very passionate about pizza. We went to 3 different pizza places to sample the different kinds and believe me you could tell a difference . This tour is well worth the money and time spent - plus you got a little tour of greenwich village and soho.
David did a great job he was full of personality and information..... we would have liked to eat more pizza for the prize... overall good experience
Enjoyed going to Keste, John's, & Fiores but the first 2 are across the street from each other. This isn't really a "walking" tour. You'll get only few fitbit steps. The guide was friendly & knowledgeable and there was a table waiting for us at the popular John's. The history of pizza & info was good but for the per person price there should be more VIP perks/tastings etc.
I found out about Scott's pizza tours on Instagram a few years ago and I've wanted to go on one ever since. It was our first visit to New York (all the way from Scotland) so we decided to do the East village tour and it did not disappoint! Our guide Amy was brilliant, super knowledgeable and friendly. We visited three pizza places, all different and uniquely delicious. I would definitely recommend to pizza fanatics like myself and my sister!
My husband and I took our 2 teen daughters on the Greenwich walking tour and we all loved it. Our guide Peter was very knowledgable and super friendly. The pizza was delicious and the presentation is really interesting. If you are looking for an NYC activity that everyone in the family will love, this is a good one!
Great tour. Our guide, Cedric, was extremely friendly and full of knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend it.
Our guide was fantastic and the tour across the three pizza locations was great and full of fun knowledge. I do wish we could have packed one more location in the tour, and it was a shame that two of the three locations had limited to no seating available for the tour, but otherwise it was definitely a fun experience!
At first I thought this was a lot of money to pay for a tour for just 3 slices per person but it was truly a great tour! I loved our guide David - super fun and incredibly welcoming as soon as we walked into the first stop. Highly highly recommend!!!! For sure ask for David.
Saturday was a beautiful day to be in NYC but what made it even better was the tour we took with Scott's Pizza Tours. Our guide Pete made our experience fun. He was witty and gave us lots of information about pizza - the different types of ovens, the dough, even a little demo. All three pizza locations greeted us warmly and served the most delicious pizza. I would recommend this as something to do while visiting the big apple.
We had a great time walking though Manhattan and learning (and tasting) about pizza. The 3 places we went to were different from each other. It also taught us to not judge a place by the outside! We enjoyed the pizza and atmosphere at Fiore's and we ate the pizza outside standing up! (Note: usually we were sitting in a restaurant but it happened to be a special event at Fiore's and we ended up outside...only added to our experience!)
We had fun on our pizza tour. Amy & Miriam were great and entertaining. We enjoyed learning about the different ovens and why the different crusts were so different. And of course, we loved trying the pizza at each place. It had been years since I'd been to Lombardi's and enjoyed going back there (my favorite crust). We enjoyed also seeing a couple of the ovens up close & personal.
This is a really fun thing to do in NYC. Highly recommend especially if u get Pete as your guide. The west Village added to the fun surroundings.
Mariam was our tour guide and she was wonderful! So fun and engaging. Great way to hear a little history about pizza but also lots of good information about the the neighborhoods that we walked through!
Did the tour with Cedric as our guide. Cedric is really knowledgeable about the history of pizza and is a very engaging and entertaining guide. Tour was nicely paced with three different pizza stops spaced nicely between. Decent amount of walking but not too much to tire you out. Definitely worth it!
The pizza tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip to NYC. We had two 11 year-olds with us, and they really enjoyed it. There was so much to learn, so much to eat and it was fantastic! Krista, our guide was absolutely the best. She was so passionate and helpful.
My husband, my father and myself went on the North Village Pizza Walk and it was a blast! Peter is a great tour guide with lots of knowledge on the pizza making process and the neighborhood pizza history. An easy distance to cover in the 2-ish hours, and we were solidly satisfied after 3 slices of pizza in that time. Would definitely recommend and would gladly do another tour if we are in New York again.
Disappointed in the quality of pizza choices. I thought we would have the "best" of the best. I have had better in my own neighborhood. Tour guide was enthusiastic.
Have been on three different Scott’s Pizza Tours. You’d expect some tours to be less or equal. But they get more fun everytime. The guides really put their hearts and belly’s into making this tour authentic. These folks are not doing this just for being a tour guide. These people actually love and breathe pizza. And so it feels like a friend talking with full passion about their hobby. Only for the 2.5 most amazing hours of your life.
Miriam was our guide and she was friendly, fun, helpful, and knew more about pizza than I could imagine. We went to three different places, all different styles and all delicious while learning history and techniques of making pizza. It rained on us a good part of the time and we all had a great time anyway.
This tour was a lot of fun. Very relaxed and great guide but also a lot of useful info and great pizza places you visit! They make you feel at home and you can ask all the questions you want. We went back to one of the restaurants we visited because we loved the pizza so much !
Scott is one of a kind. His passion, enthusiasm, almost unbelievable knowledge, and great sense of humor are infectious to be around. Oh and by the way the pizza was all fantastic. I would do this again in a heartbeat.
Very educational and fun. A great way to eat some awesome pizza. Scott was informative and extremely energetic. A must do when you are either visiting or live in NYC.
Great tour. The tour guide Peter was fantastic. He truly knew his pizza. I would take another pizza tour again
Alexis was the greatest tour guide ! This tour was so packed full of info , humor and of course spectacular pizza ! I’m normally a thin crust person but Ben’s Sicilian style was my absolute favorite on this tour !! Would highly recommend this to others !
