Had a fantastic experience exploring Lower Manhattan with Jon! He is incredibly knowledgeable, especially about 9/11, and his background as an actor really shines through in his engaging storytelling. The small group made the tour feel personal, and Jon was attentive to everyone throughout. Despite the rainy weather, he remained enthusiastic, patient, and accommodating, even going beyond the scheduled time to make sure we had a great experience. Highly Recommended!
Jon made this tour experience so much more than just a tour, he shared interesting stories and plenty of local knowledge being a true American. Jon's enthusiasm was infectious, his sense of humour made it even more enjoyable. He went out of his way to take photos for us and made sure everyone had a fabulous time.
Jon is a proud New Yorker and a passionate tour guide. He has a wealth of knowledge and has spent numerous years perfecting his craft. This is the second tour we have done with CityShuffles and we would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.
Jon is a phenomenal guide!! His FiDi Wall Street 9/11 Lower Manhattan walking tour is equal parts fascinating history and passionate storytelling. The tour was also a great compliment to seeing Hamilton on stage. It was a highlight of our whole trip and should not be missed! Do yourself a favor and book this tour!!
This was my second tour with Jon Noto (last year I took his Brooklyn Bridge tour) and he’s far and away the best tour guide I’ve had. I take walking tours in every country and state I visit so I know what good looks like and Jon is the GOAT. He spends a great deal of his time building his expertise doing research about 9/11 in particular, especially the personal stories from first responders, and he tells the story of heroic people who saved many lives and gave their own in the process. He’s amazing and I am telling all my friends and family to take any and all of Jon’s tours wi to CityShuffles when they are in NY. Thank you, Jon, for what was the highlight of my trip.
I was highly impressed by this tour and my guide, Jon (who also happens to be the founder of the company). Jon was obviously knowledgeable and passionate about showcasing NYC. Also, from a hospitality standpoint, he went above and beyond. Before the actual tour, he was communicative - and even after, he kept his line open and was more than happy to provide suggestions for good neighbourhood eats. I might be coming back to NYC in December, and if I do, I am definitely reaching back out to him if I’m looking for any other tours!!
The tour was more than worth it — we highly recommend it! We visited so many places that we would never have seen if it hadn’t been for Jon. We learned in detail about the history of Lower Manhattan and everything that happened at the World Trade Center on 9/11. We’re extremely grateful for the tour and for the wonderful way we were treated. Thank you so much!!
MJ was great. Took us through how is to be a New Yorker after 9/11. She's funny, very informative and passionate about history. This tour was even inspirational. 10/10.
Jon is an extremely knowledgeable tour guide who keeps you informed and entertained throughout the whole experience. Two and half hours flew by! I’ve gone on two tours by Jon and I’d gladly go on more in the future.
Jon was a knowledgeable, entertaining, and charismatic guide. He answered all of my questions, and gave me a personalized tour. I got a private view into some of the taverns in Wall St. And Jon told personal stories of some heroes on 9/11 that brought me to tears. He was captivating. Great guide for all ages.
Incredible experience. Thank you very much for your expertise, passion and fun along the way. I saw many inside local experiences I would never have seen if I traveled the area alone. Thank you very much!!!
We had a great time with Jon, he really entertains you throughout the whole tour and tells a lot of interesting facts and stories. One of the best tours we ever had and we would highly recommend to do this tour while in NYC! Jon goes as a tour guide beyond the standard - amazing guy!
I took Mike’s Brooklyn Bridge/DUMBO tour on a previous trip and enjoyed it so much that when I returned to NYC, I reached out directly to see if he was running any other tours. I ended up joining his new Wall Street/Financial District tour, and it did not disappoint! What sets City Shuffles apart is the storytelling. Mike explains the stories behind the places you are seeing and really helps to paint the picture of why they matter. The result is that you actually remember what you learned long after the tour ends! The tour was packed with fascinating details about the development of New York City, Wall Street, the Financial District, and the events of 9/11, but everything was presented in a way that felt engaging and relevant rather than like a history lecture. I left with a much deeper understanding of the city and several stories that I am still able to share with others later on! If you enjoy architecture, urban history, engineering, city development, or simply learning how New York became what it is today, I highly recommend this tour. This is exactly the kind of tour that makes a city feel more connected and more meaningful. (Even in a city that you may have visited already many times!)
Jon is such a great person, filling the tours with little stories besides all the more in-depth information about what you can (and what you sometimes cannot ) see. The tours didn’t feel rushed and I would advise to bring a little more time than expected so you can enjoy all the different sites, ask questions (Jon’s knowledge about the city goes way beyond what you would expect) and find out the best places for pretty much everything. I would definitely book a tour again if I’m back in the city. I really recommend CityShuffles (I heard the sunset Brooklyn Bridge tour is amazing too)!
Jon is an encyclopedia! We had a great time on the walking tour and he managed to pack a lot of sites in to the itinerary. Highly recommend! Well worth it!
What an incredible way to spend a morning. I got my steps in, I learned so much about NYC history, and I had fun. Highly recommend!
This tour is absolutely amazing, and Jon is an incredible tour guide. It is clear he has incredible knowledge of the area, sharing his many interesting notes with us with his great sense of humour too. The tour finished at the 9/11 memorial and the tone of the tour certainly changed, he shared many moving stories of incredible bravery and sacrifice. I've done 10+ walking tours all over the world and New York and Jon is right at the top. Totally recommend Jon and his company to anyone looking for a tour in NYC.
Highly recommend the tour. Jon is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about the city, specializes in the memory of 9/11, and taught me a lot about the subject.
Fantastic Lower Manhattan tour—highly recommend. We covered Wall Street, key spots throughout Lower Manhattan, and spent the last 1/3rd of time at the 9/11 Memorial. Jon our guide was the highlight of the tour —incredibly smart and on the ball. Jon brought the history and significance of each location to life with insights you just wouldn’t get on other tours. The pace was perfect, and every stop felt worthwhile. Overall, a top-notch, informative, and enjoyable experience. Definitely worth it!
I’ve been on several tours with Jon, and he is the definition of a tourism professional. His command of the material is exceptional, paired with outstanding communication and presentation skills. He manages to cover an astonishing amount of ground—both geographically and historically—without ever feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Most recently, we did his Lower Manhattan tour, and it was genuinely mind-blowing to realize how much world history unfolded in such a compact area. We’ve also taken several of his food tours, which are just as expertly curated and engaging. Highly recommended—the best walking tours in NYC, hands down.
I had a great tour with Jon. He knows so much about 9/11 and NY history, it’s possible to tell that he is very passionate about it. Thank you Jon!
Jon noto did a fantastic tour of Wall Street , the financial districts and a very moving history of 9-11. Despite the cold weather we were totally engaged and he added plenty of indoor elements to the tour to warm up and coffee stops. His tour was one of the best walking tours we have done anywhere in the world. We absolutely recommend him and the tour and our only disappointment is we probably don’t have time to squeeze in another tour with him. The history of the financial district was fascinating. He has a great depth of knowledge and is very professional.
Awesome tour, Jon was extremely knowledgeable and told very engaging and very human stories. This tour is a must if you find yourself in NYC!
Jon was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. We’ve traveled Europe and Asia, taken tours at every destination, and this one tops the charts by miles. There were colorful explanations at every spot, delving into details that you wouldn’t pick up anywhere else, without being dry or boring. We asked a bunch of questions and he knew everything there was to know about the city. We even reached out afterwards to ask for food recommendations in a different neighborhood and he gave us a detailed list of must-see places and must-order items. Could not recommend enough. Worth triple the price.
Jon was an excellent tour guide, this tour was a fascinating insight to the history of NYC as well as an in depth look at the events of 9/11. His storytelling is so moving and passionate, and he gave so much info during our tour that even supported the rest of our trip. Highly recommend this tour, or any of Jon’s as he is so knowledgeable and helpful! Great pace, lots of detail, super friendly and funny too. We even reached out a few days later for recommendations and he sent great suggestions for our time in Central Park and we created an itinerary from it which was perfect. Book Jon’s tour - definitely a highlight of a busy NYC trip!
Jon was an amazing tour guide during the walking tour! He was engaging and humorous. I enjoyed my informative walking tour with him in NYC.
We attended two walking tours by CityShuffles during our long weekend in NYC and they were both amazing! Due to serious rain we ended up getting a private tour of lower Manhattan, covering early revolutionary history, Wall Street, NYC architecture, and the 9/11 Memorial among other things. I cannot imagine a more knowledgeable and entertaining guide than Jon. Highly recommend!
If you have time for only a single tour- this is the one! Jon’s is engaging and funny. Add to that his overwhelming knowledge and his friendly approach and you get the perfect combination.
Jon is the best you can get! I use guru walk all around the world and I had really good guides. He is in my top 3! The tour was so informative and detailed, very interesting. I could listen to him another 3 hours. Jon answered all of my numerous questions and there were many! Especially when you want to know real local tips, he will provide that and more. It was a mixture of history, movies, stories, insights, curiosities and lots of fun! Very clear and careful with us (my mother didn’t speak English), couldn’t ask for more! He even made stunning photos with his smartphone and send them to us later. From our hearts, very recommended!
Had a great time on this walking tour! The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the whole experience fun and informative. I learned a lot and got to see parts of the city I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Highly recommend to anyone visiting!
Don’t miss this tour! This a lovely tour! New York has such rich history with so many chapters across the last 400 years that makes it so interesting. This tour captures the genesis of New York and it is literally walk down the lanes of the past. We see places that mark the independence of USA, how NYC evolved into the metropolis it is today. We also see spots where famous movies were shot. The tour guide Jon is passionate and excited to answer all questions you have! The tour ends at the WTC, where we learn about the treacherous 9/11 attacks and how the city and its essential services worked relentlessly to get the city running again!
John was an excellent tour guide, very eloquent with a bunch of history 🔥🔥 I really recommand you this tour, you'll learn a lot of history (especially 9 11, it's his speciality) and see a lot of good places not to miss in NY
Jon, our guide, was great! The tour was a mix of history, free museums, hidden gems and interesting facts. Highly recommend!
An excellent tour around lower Manhattan. Jon was a great guide, very knowledgeable about the area and architecture. Only myself and 1 other on our tour, so it was pretty much a private tour. I would recommend this walk to anyone visiting the area.
Jon was an exceptional tour guide—professional, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the entire experience. The tour was incredibly interesting and packed with fascinating information. He shared so many unique details and stories about the city that we never would have discovered on our own. Time flew by, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to have a great time while learning more about the city's history and hidden gems.
I really enjoyed this tour and I highly recomend it. Tour guide Jon was amazing, anwsering all our questions and giving interesting facts about NYC and its history. I did many tours and could truly guarantee that this one was well prepared and interesting.
