Laura was a wonderful guide who shared many facts about Grand Central & the Summit. The Summit is an experience I’d definitely recommend. It’s a modern & new observation deck experience

My 17yo daughter and I booked this tour because the GA Summit One Vanderbilt tickets were sold out everywhere. It ended up being just us and the tour guide, Alex. He was AMAZING. So knowledgeable, so nice, so easy going. I was a bit nervous at first that it would be awkward since we were going to be spending 3+ hours together, but it couldn't have been a better experience. He knew everything about everything, and he made the whole tour very fun AND informational. He went above and beyond to make sure the entire tour was excellent. 100% recommend!
This was a knowledgeable tour of Grand Central Station and surrounding cityscapes of New York from the observation tower of the Vanderbilt Tower. You will be immersed in the hustle and bustle of Grand Central Station. You will learn the history of GCS. Ryan our guide shared extensive knowledge on the history of each Burroughs in all directions. More than just an observation tour, but a history lesson.
Already sent in my review. Worst excursion ever with Viator. Guide was over an hour late and we were continously given incorrect information
Waste of money. Go for less expensive Front of the Line. Guide was over 1 hour late. We were constantly misinformed . Worst experience yet with Viator. Service provider was out of Ireland and difficult to get a hold of
Definitely take the tour of Grand Central Station! Our guide, Christine was awesome!!! She was very educated on the history.
The VIP Summit Vanderbilt tour package offers a premium experience with exclusive access and breathtaking views. However, the cost is significantly higher than expected and feels overpriced for what’s provided. While the views and amenities are impressive, the value doesn’t quite match the steep price tag. Look for alternative packages that might be more budget-friendly, but make sure to visit VIP Summit Vanderbilt if you’re in New York—it’s a must-see attraction despite the price.
Terrible experience. They sale the tickets through a third party that supposedly give you the actual ticket for entrance, they only give you a voucher and that’s no the actual ticket. At the summit theres no one providing information or assistance or the customer phone number for support never answered . I have to purchase tickets there again since the people at summit don’t have anything to do with third parties. The best way is to purchase directly to the summit website
Worst tour I have ever booked through Viator!!! Will never use this vendor again. I suggest you use extreme caution using this vendor. They are not local. I was dealing with a customer support system out of Ireland. Was told to meet the “tour guide” who was not outside at the meeting point. Which he was not. We showed up (as told 15 minutes before the meeting time at 8:30am with a 8:45am start time) no tour guide. Waiting in the cold with a child, for almost an hour (calling customer service which was in another country) and using their “chat service” which kept saying he was there. The tour guide once he showed up said sorry “I had a cat wake me up early”. I’m not making that up. Then when we tried to start the tour. The tour guide changed the tour and wanted todo the Grand Central Station tour and not the Summit tour, which was not as advertised. Come to find out he didn’t have tickets for the Summit as advertised for the 9am but for later in the day. Also the ViP for the summit (which is what everyone in the tour wanted) was just a get you in the with everybody else. Very disappointed. I’ve used Viator many many times in many countries. This was the worst experience I have ever had.
Don’t take this tour! Just buy regular tickets from the Summit One website. The summit is amazing, this specific tour is scam. Meeting time 8.30am. The tickets for entrance were for 10am. The tour guide (Stan) arrived 9.30am, one hour later. It is not a VIP tour (despite the name). You wait for 30min in the line with everyone who bought tickets for $64 (basically we’ve paid double price for literally nothing, actually we’ve lost one hour waiting for the tour guide who apparently was stuck in the traffic) We and three other families were just keep calling the tour operator over and over but the responses were (he is very close, etc…). For the Grand Central station, it is in the same building, you don’t need tickets or tour guide to take few photos. As a conclusion, this is a scam, the tour operator just buys off a bunch of tickets for regular price and then as all scalpers do, are selling the tickets by 2x of original price. In order to cover this shady scheme, they stick “vip” in the tour name and add a tour guide whose only role is to hand you over the actual tickets (after being one hour late).
We had difficulty finding the guide as it was said that Francesca would be it but instead there was a guy. He was very knowledgeable and a good person, patient, and took a lot of photos for us.. We liked it very much. Now we can’t wait to get out photos!
I had the chance to go back to NYC with my partner after many years and we decided to take a guided tour. Summit One Vanderbilt was a new discovery for us and the art installations with the breathtaking views were fantastic. Our guide took great pictures of us inside. We also went to visit Grand Central Station which we knew of from many cult movies but we didn't know anything about the architecture and the design so it was just great to learn about it. This tour definitely made our day in New York.
Amazing tour - everything was great! The views are incredible and we had a fantastic time. Thank you for this unforgettable experience
Absolutely incredible tour of Summit One and Grand Central Station with LetzGo City! Our expert local guide made the experience unforgettable—full of fascinating facts and hidden gems. A must-do in NYC if you want top-notch insights and breathtaking views! Highly recommend!
Brilliant tour and guiding. It definitely made my stay memorable. It was great fun and amazing photo opportunities. This is NYC
I did not have a memorable experience I was left embarrassed and confused wondering if this was a scam. I booked online in advance got the instructions where to wait. Email said 15 minutes before the schedule time of 8:45 . I was there early waited when 9am came I went downstairs in the line to see if the barcode confirmation I recieved could get me in. No as the only African American in the line I felt embarrassed as I was told that what I had was a confirmation and not the actual ticket to get in. I went back upstairs used the phone for a guy who was trying to sell me a tour to call the number in the email. Long story short the guide eventually showed up just when a manager from summit 1 was going to allow me to do the door as she saw my distress then some one called back from the number in Dublin to say my guide was looking for me NoNoNo I was there and he was not there until 9:07am . I was crushed I was hyped and looking forward to the tour the tour guide smelled and appeared as if he was on something. We got a 1/2 ass tour of grand central. During the tour a gentleman stopped and asked if he was our tour guide as if he wanted to say something but just stood there and then left. He was informative took great pictures but summit itself does not need a guide so he was not necessary for me I just went through the experience and went about my business. It was not worth my $135 and actually ruin my day as I had other things plan. I could not access my picture as they were all under the group as when I scanned my barcode that is what I was told. I believe I should have at least $90 returned to me. The summit experience was on another level by itself but the tour guide his lateness and then trying to make me feel stupid when I was there from 8:25am and only getting on the tour at 10am I felt as though I was stripped naked for all to see.
The guy on the tour knew both the summit and the gran central area perfectly. A truly exceptional tour. Very nice tour… thank you!
The views from Summit One were unbelievable. We had a clear day so could see practically all of Manhattan and beyond. The History around Grand Central station was a highlight too, our guide was fantastic at bringing the architectural history to light so a big shout out to John for that. You made our trip!
We were alone with the guide. She has comprehensively explained all the main points and sights of this tour and has responded directly to our questions. We felt very comfortable and the interpersonal chemistry was right. Too bad we couldn't do the other tours with her.
We had trouble finding our guide for the vip tour. Otherwise, great experience once you get in the elevator and at the top.
