My friend and I had a great time waking the streets with Morgan. He had really interesting insights about the area and its history. All of the food spots were delish, and we left full and happy!

Itinerary
We start at the historical heart of Manhattan, Astor Place, where the Lenape congregated for hundreds of years before the arrival of Europeans. THIS IS A SAMPLE ITINERARY. We take input from the group, then draw from a big bag of options to make each outing unique.
Start with a cheese plate and a beer at McSorley's - the oldest continuously operating bar in New York. Abe Lincoln drank here, and the place is absolutely dripping with curios and artifacts, since nothing's been removed from the walls since 1910.
We'll take a stroll down St. Mark's Place, where there's tons of restaurants and street activity.
Donut Pub has been feeding New York donuts 24 hours a day since 1964. The vibe is good and the donuts are great.
Visit the site of one of the most tragic and traumatic events in New York City history, where 146 garment workers were killed in a fire in 1911. This event helped transform labor practices in the United States and it's a story every American should know.
We might hang out a bit and learn the remarkable history of one of America's most important city parks.
Songs, stories, and stand up - they've all bubbled up from MacDougal. We'll stop and tell the story of one of the most culturally significant streets in America. And we might stop and get something to eat at Mamoun's, Pommes Frites, or...
Mamoun's was the first falafel joint in NYC, opened in 1971 by a Syrian man named Mamoun. The business is now run by his sons, but 50 years later this incredible little hole-in-the-wall is still serving incredible falafel to comedians, musicians, and students all day and late into the night.
Not your normal New York slice, but Two Boots is a vibrant and colorful shop with outstanding food and a friendly atmosphere. It's in a space that used to house a lesbian bar that refused to serve men, but today Two Boots welcomes everybody. Interesting things happen here.
Bleecker is full of bars, boutiques, and beautiful people. Not uncommon to see a world-famous face walk past.
This Latin/Indian fusion spot is owned by a woman with a Puerto Rican mom and an Indian father, and staffed by a largely Nepali crew. This place embodies the best of New York. Innovation, tradition, and hard work. The food is unique, colorful and delicious, and they play great music.
We end the night at Marie's Crisis Cafe is a delightful subterranean bar where you can sing along with a live piano player to your favorite show tunes. It's a great visit, even if Broadway isn't your thing.
These cookies really are life-changing. And Janie has a cute story of overcoming obstacles. It's a cute place with a friendly staff and truly amazing pie-crust cookies. Always worth a stop.
Whether we drop in for a drink or stop in Christopher Park to soak up the vibe, the Stonewall is a must-visit in the West Village. Now a national monument, the Stonewall was the site of a pivotal 1969 uprising that galvanized the modern gay rights movement. One of many extremely influential cultural spots we'll visit in the West Village.

One of the best tours we’ve been on. Morgan’s such a brilliant tour guide. Everything was so relaxed and he catered for everyone and what we all wanted to see and try. Can’t recommend this tour enough, there’s so much involved that you’ve never experience
Morgan kept the stops close to each other on flat ground. We got a variety of food without having to walk too much.
Morgan was the BEST tour guide. We've been on food tours in Boston, Rome and lastly, New York! We learned so much while on our tour and genuinely had the best time strolling through the village and eating our way around. Just book it! You will not regret your time spent . Morgan makes you feel like you are just out and about with friends- not stuffy at all!
David was great! Fun, informative and very knowledgeable. Food choices were excellent and delicious! We had a great time, thanks David!
Morgan was an excellent tour guide, he was very knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood. He made sure everyone was doing well throughout the tour and the food choices were excellent! Our group was very pleased with everything and will travel back to the neighborhood to explore more when we come back to NYC.
My husband and I had a great time on our tour with Morgan. He was very knowledgeable about the area and made the tour fun and interactive. We loved that he incorporated stories about the history of the area. We ate food that we otherwise would not have tried, everything tasted great, and he gave recommendations for places that we didn’t stop at. The tour is free flowing with the ability to change food stops.
Great, interesting tour with Morgan! Lots of history and delicious food. My son and I really enjoyed the restaurant choices.
My husband, daughter, and I went on an adventure with Morgan. Morgan is a fantastic tour guide! What we loved about him the most is that it felt like we were eating and walking with an old friend. He introduced to us to an array of tasty and cozy cultural food options and pastries, the story behind the restaurants, historical events, hidden gems, nightclubs, some celebrity homes, and much more. He even stopped at Carrie Bradshaw's apartment upon my request! We highly recommend a tour with Morgan. You won't be disappointed or bored. Believe me, we are back in LA now, and we are still talking about how much fun we had with him! We learned so much about the city and the people in it. He made it exciting for our whole family and long-lasting memories! We had about 10 tours in NYC while visiting for a week, and this tour was by far our favorite!!!
Took the village nights tour with Morgan as our guide… he was terrific… both knowledgeable and flexible! Would recommend to anyone looking to eat/drink explore the villages!
I am a lifelong New Yorker. My wife is not but we’ve both lived in Manhattan for 26 years — and we’ve always thought walking food tours were something only tourists did. Last night proved us completely wrong. We joined the "Village Nights: Greenwich Village Food Crawl" with Morgan as our guide, and it turned out to be one of the best nights out we’ve had in years. Morgan is a phenomenal guide: knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating stories that even native New Yorkers like us didn’t know. Along the way, we learned so much about the Village’s history — from Washington Square Park to the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire to the Stonewall riots and more. The food and drink stops were outstanding. Some were hidden gems we’d never noticed, and others were places we’d walked past for years without realizing how good they were. From falafels to Indian fusion tacos, pizza, pomme frites, and dessert, everything we tried was delicious. The mix of history, culture, and incredible food made the whole evening fly by. What really made the experience special was Morgan’s ability to weave together the neighborhood’s stories with today’s flavors, making the Village come alive in a way that felt authentic and fun. Whether you’re a visitor or a longtime New Yorker, I can’t recommend this tour enough. We’re already planning to bring friends on it next time. Thank you, Morgan, for such a memorable night!
Awesome Experience I've done many of these tours in the past, and they never get old, especially because each guide has a different perspective and how they present it to the group.
We had such a great time on this tour! Our guide, Morgan, was not only super knowledgeable but also incredibly intuitive—he adapted the night to our group’s energy perfectly, whether that meant grabbing a quick beer or treating us to something sweet when we needed a pick-me-up. The food was fantastic. The Mexican-Indian fusion at Taco Mahal was such a unique and flavorful surprise, and Janie’s Life Changing Baked Goods absolutely lived up to the name—I’ve already gone back since the tour! Exploring Greenwich and the West Village through Morgan’s lens gave us a whole new appreciation for the neighborhood. My parents were visiting from out of town, but even as a local living in Brooklyn, I found myself learning new (and old!) stories about the city I call home. This is a great tour for anyone—visitors or locals—who loves food, a good story, and exploring NYC in a relaxed, engaging way. Highly recommend!
I took this tour with another couple and we are all veteran New Yorkers, but we ate places we would’ve never dreamed of and learned a lot about New York City that we had never heard of This is a fantastic tour for people who think they know New York and no New York food and also for people out of town. I love it so much. I’m gonna tell my other friends who live in the city that they think they know New York, but not until they take this food tour
Morgan, the tour guide really knew the area well, and the food stops he picked were good. The meeting spot was clearly marked.
Morgan, our tour guide, was extremely interesting to listen to. He seemed to know a lot about the area and gave out the information in a fun and compelling way. The food stops were fantastic! It's just a great way to see a tiny slice of New York life.
Morgan was very passionate about NYC and knowledgeable of everyday parts of the city. This was a refreshing tour for both New Yorkers and the rest of the team that were visiting. All of the locations were great, and we were definitely full by the end of the tour. Happy to end with dessert!
This was one of the best things we did in New York. Morgan was an incredible guide, knowledgeable, fun. He made us feel more like hanging out with a friend than going on a formal tour. The places we visited were very interesting, soulful and of course tasteful. All the food he picked was amazing, specially the falafel and the pommes frites…oh and the doughnut place. We also Got to meet really nice people so this tour is absolutely recommended if you want to really have the New Yorker experience. A must!!!
The tour was a great way to see the sites, eat good food and learn both historical and cultural events that shaped the Greenwich Village area. Morgan did a great job being flexible and informative.
It was canceled the morning of due to a scheduling error. We did not have time to reschedule to another day which was disappointing.
Morgan did an amazing job showing us Greenwhich Village and choosing wonderful places to eat. He was accommodating to the needs of the group and added a personal touch to this experience. What me and my mom enjoyed most was that he chose places that we would have not experienced. We would definitely take another four next time we are visiting NY.
Morgan was great! Full of knowledge and he took us to some delicious spots. He also let us suggest things we wanted to do, which was appreciated. Highly recommend this tour!
Had a great time and learned so much about the West Village while eating some delicious food. I would not have found these places on my own, so I’m really glad I did this tour. Morgan was awesome, knew so much about the area and made it so interesting . We even popped into a few unplanned places that ended up being perfect! Highly recommend this tour!
We had a lovely time with Morgan! He really took us to local spots we would have never picked out on our own and pointed so many important spots that again we never would have known were there. We had some great beers, pizza, falafel, tacos, Chicken Katzu & cookies.
Morgan was absolutely incredible! His passion for Greenwich Village was contagious, and his deep knowledge of the neighborhood's history, architecture, and the artists who shaped it was truly fascinating. We visited some truly unique spots with incredible cultural significance, and Morgan's storytelling brought the past to life. But it wasn't just about the history – Morgan was incredibly engaging and genuinely interested in our feedback. He was even willing to customize the tour based on a specific request we had, which made the experience feel truly personal. Of course, the food was amazing, but it was so much more than just a food crawl. Morgan clearly knew the area inside and out, had strong relationships with the locals, and has a deep love for the city and its impact on the world. Highly recommend!
Morgan began by sharing his goal was to plan an evening that was as comfortable as friends walking about town. He did a great job of asking us what we wish to tour to encompass; great food, conversation spots, secret hideaways. He came prepared to do a preplanned tour but did a great job of making suggestions and taking us to a variety of spots. Perfect for a quiet New Year's Eve walkabout.
Had a super relaxed time strolling around the city and discovering fun facts about it and having great food with friends.
Morgan was a great tour guide, sharing a lot of history about the Greenwich Village area of NYC and also sharing some of his fave food spots. He offered us some say in our experience and that was appreciated. The food was all delicious and would be classed as casual, think taco and falafel sandwich with a donut and asian fusion joint thrown in. Lots of fun!
This was an incredible tour! 10/10 for our tour guide Morgan. Our work team had an amazing time on the Village Night tour. The food was awesome, but what really made the experience special was Morgan's passion for the city and the people that made and make it. His knowledge of NYC history, culture, and pop culture was impressive. He took us to special places like the Stonewall Inn and the Cafe Society, sharing fascinating stories along the way. Morgan was also super accommodating, customizing the tour to our interests and pace. We highly recommend him and his tours!
Awesome tour, loads of good insights and amazing food. Morgan is a fountain of local knowledge, great mix of historical insights and the best places to eat. Would 100% recommend!
This was a great tour. 3 hours walking and learning the the history of the village & NYC. We had about 5 stops for food, including tacos, pizza & falafel and a stop at the oldest coolest bar in the village. Morgan was a fun informative guide he focused on our interest, which was great since only 2 of us were on the tour. Highly recommended a great way to spend an autumn night in NYC with a friendly enthusiastic guide.
If you like seeing things up close, sights and sounds you might otherwise miss (or might be intimidated trying to dive in and get acquainted with) then this tour should be on your list! We visit New York when we can to soak up the bigness and smallness of it. We of course dig the grandness of Central Park, enjoying a Broadway show, feeling the Times Square's energy, and checking out attractions like the Edge Sky Deck or walking the Highline. But come on, this is one of the most densely populated places in the world. It's where you can easily and effectively contrast the big stuff that got you here, with the granular, street level stuff. Does experiencing the character of a Manhattan neighborhood appeal to you? This may be your flash pass. It was for us. When I saw this walking tour's description and sample itinerary on Viator it was an instant yes! The booking was easy, the communication clear and prompt, the instructions easy to follow. We met Morgan our guide at the designated, easy-to-find and get-to location and we instantly clicked. He quizzed us on things we might want to include, and from there was a delight to walk and talk with, listen and learn from, and enjoy the dynamics of life in the West Village from someone who has curated a wealth of knowledge about, well...everything? The food stops were fun, varied, tasty, and tailored to our liking. There you are, exploring places you might otherwise walk by in the inevitable "travelers uncertainty" one has when visiting a new place and not quite knowing what you're looking at. We covered so much during our time together—visually and verbally exploring everything...from historically significant places, stories of some of the people and icons who had a hand in shaping the place, right down to the nitty-gritty of the area and street we were on, all while bouncing amongst those that call it home. It was comfortable, casual, and probably not something you'd effectively accomplish trying to do it on your own. The time flew by! Be bold, you're in New York..consider this tour.
Morgan as awesome - he's super go-with-the-flow, so we got to explore different areas and go to hole in the wall places. He had such cool information, not just about the history of the locations, but about random graffiti on the street and anecdotes about the areas. It was a really fun tour, I would definitely do another tour with him!
Morgan's tour felt very customized to our group and we all thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. The food was incredible, the historical insights were fascinating (even as a lifelong New Yorker), and Morgan's genuine adoration of NYC was palpable and infectious. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys learning, trying new food spots, and exploring the unique magic of NYC.
Morgan has done his research! As our questions intensified about the place that is The Village and its role in America’s/New York’s counterculture movements he exceeded all of our expectations and it was so much fun!! My Queer group was taken to LaLanterna de Vittorio, America’s earliest Lesbian Bar (100 years ago) and we had Eve’s tea!! As an Italian who cooks, the rucola parmigiano & Lasagna Bolognese was exceptional. Arturos for drinks and a pie THE BEST! and it had a jazz pianist! The walk thru Washington Square Park and its history and fun vibe was perfect on our way to the new STONEWALL INN and Park. For us it was symbolic and profound in its role that helped us live into our authentic selves. I can highly recommend this Tour and Morgan!! Jean Iannelli Craciun
A very nice tour! Dan knew all of the shop owners and made sure to keep our input in mind. Would recommend to people looking for a tour!
Our tour guide and his personal knowledge and passion for the history of various locations and buildings! We also hit some great bars and food spots! Loved the sour beer sampled! Thanks Dan for working so hard to show us a great time touring the villages!
This tour was one of my favorite things of our NYC trip! The tour guide was so knowledgeable & very accommodating to the various food allergies in our group. 10/10 would recommend! Can’t wait to come back & do the Chinatown Tour🤩
I had such a fun time on the tour. Morgan is so knowledgeable about the history of the city. He really tailored the tour to the neighborhood, food, and beverages we were interested in trying. I would definitely book another tour next time I find myself in the city :)
Had a great time on this tour/experience/adventure!! The whole thing felt professional and polished…yet improvised and customized to our group. It really was a unique way to see and experience the city, and different than a ‘typical’ walking tour. Highly recommend!
Fue una gran experiencia con un chavo que más que guía era como si un amigo que sabe mucho te lleva a dar la vuelta. Los lugares muy interesantes y la comida buenísima. A must!
