We had a great time on our food tour! Our guide Raul was outstanding, taking us to wonderful locations and providing just the right amount of historical and present day context throughout the tour. His food selections were excellent and everything was delicious! It was a great value and I would definitely recommend this tour, just make sure to come hungry! I also have some feedback on the booking process through Viator that I’d like to share. I booked this tour through a link provided to me from a Fora travel advisor. When I booked through that link, I was able to apply my Viator rewards I had earned from previous bookings (which was good), however I did not earn rewards for this booking (should have been $7.59). I also was not able to add the tickets to my Apple Wallet (I received an error message when clicking the add to Apple Wallet button), and my tour did not automatically import into my TripIt app as happens when I book directly through Viator. Going forward, I would not book through the Fora link unless these issues are resolved or a reduced booking rate is provided.

While you eat, I will let you know the history of the dishes and the history of the neighborhood. All of the places we will go are known for one item, so I will order while you eat! Other things to note: Bring warm clothes, a mask, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, a good mood and a large appetite!
Little Italy is a neighborhood in Lower Manhattan in New York City, known for its large Italian population. It is bounded on the west by Tribeca and Soho, on the south by Chinatown, on the east by the Bowery and Lower East Side, and on the north by Nolita

Good tour and pleasant guide. Pizza a bit disappointing but China town tour particularly good and enjoyed arancini. Good tour for family with teenagers
Raul was a great guide - we really enjoyed the food selections and the atmosphere of the group. Recommend that all guests arrive fully hungry and ready to eat. Would definitely take another tour with Raul again!
Cool tour guide, very knowledgable and friendly. Food was amazing. We brought a toddler and we managed just fine, restaurants were accommodating. Would highly recommend
Great food, generous portions and knowledgeable and nice guide. Only issue was that the pace was a bit slow. We had to wait quite a while before our second tasting was ready, which was a little odd since the restaurant was empty.
This was a great experience! Raul was a great guide and everything that we tried was delicious. I was very full at the end.
Dom was a great guide, the food was good, and there was lots of information about the parts of the city we were walking through.
Hello, secretfoodtours.com I’m having an issue submitting a review for the following date below. My wife and just had our 2nd New York vacation in 10 months. The first vacation was a very good vacation. But we had a tremendous time on this one. Or course the bug was attending a Yankee game in Yankee Stadium. And we also had several tours but, this tour with Renee Lavalle was a blast. Her hospitality, knowledge and the joy that she has doing doing job and visiting with people is second to none. We look forward to our next New York adventure and we look forward visiting with Renee again in the near future. Booking Reference BR-1412281891 Booking date.png Sun Jun 21, 2026 Ultimate Food Tours
If you are sensitive to spices you may want to think through this trip. Very enjoyable and the tour guide Gracie made it interesting but the food can be spicy. Other than that thoroughly enjoyable trip very interesting to see Chinatown and Little Italy.
We had a wonderful time on our tour! Our guide, Maud, was awesome and brought such great energy to the experience! She taught us about the rich history of the individual restaurants we went to and the Chinatown/ Little Italy area. Overall a wonderful experience and delicious food choices!
This was a really fun day with fabulous food. Katie was brilliant - her insights into Chinatown and Chinese food really added to the whole experience.
Good food and our tour guide, Lance, had knowledgeable tips Excellent little hidden gems to eat at Need good walking shoes, Chinatown can be hard to navigate footpath at times
Megan was our guide and she was a delight. Lots of great food at little places we never would have found ourselves. Plus lots of good context about the neighborhood and its history.
Traveling on a mother/daughter trip to New York’s China Town in Manhattan. We had a great time with Lance, as our guide on our tour of China Town. The 5 food stops we encountered were all different & overall a great variety of culinary delights! We learned a few tidbits of history along the way as well! We would definitely recommend this tour if you are wanting to experience China Town for history & food.
Great tour with Meghan, she was so sweet, knowledgable and considerate. Highly recommend! We visited some great restaurant and got some nice insight into the area.
My daughter had a fun time on the food tour! We never could have enjoyed all that Chinatown has to offer without doing a food tour!
Incredible experience, great food, generous portions. Highly recommend! Katie was awesome and kept us engaged and fed despite the cold. The places were locations I would have NEVER visited on my own and having an experienced guide curate the tour was fantastic. The tour was my husband’s favorite part of our trip.
I'm a New Yorker who didn't want to do something super touristy, and this tour delivered. Our group of five went to a number of spots that I probably would not have ventured into on my own, so it was great to discover some new gems, all while gaining a deeper understanding of the neighborhood history. Our knowledgeable and entertaining guide met everyone's dietary needs and preferences. And the food was delicious. We were all full by the end of it.
Lance was a lot of fun. My entire family enjoyed being with him and he provided useful knowledge. As a family we have shared a lot of what Lance shared about and on our tour. Not only would I recommend him, my family and I would use him on our next trip to New York.
The tour was super interesting and the guide was very informative and lovely. It was very gritty and felt like we were in the bowels of Chinatown. I loved learning about the tenements. Food was reasonably good.
We went on the ultimate Chinatown food tour with Megan. She was a great tour guide giving us a history lesson and sharing all the tips on navigating Chinatown. It was great to visit places outside of the more well visited areas of Chinatown. Would highly recommend this tour!
Lara was such a fun tour guide. Her knowledge of Chinatown was great. We learned a lot about the area and how it changed over the years. The food choices were perfect. We definitely went off the beaten path with the restaurant choices. The amount of food and the length of the tour was perfect. We would highly recommend the tour and Lara.
Great food, interesting history and overall a lot of fun. The walk was easy with multiple stops to try delicious food. Lara was fabulous and kept us entertained with her knowledge.
So glad we booked this tour to celebrate our anniversary. Scott was a thoroughly knowledgeable and fun guide and his love for the city and its history came through. Also he introduced us to some delicious Chinese food that I can’t wait to try again in the city, accompanied by some cool history of the area!
I love doing food tour when I travel. This had to have been the best one yet, Lance our tour guide took us to some fabulous restaurants in Chinatown, places we never would have found on our own.
Delightful experience eating some very delicious food. We were taken to legit places that felt like getting a real insider's secret on the best places to eat in Chinatown. Our guide was very gracious and hospitable and added extra sunshine to the experience!
Everything was delicious and served with a side of really interesting history - both of the cuisine and the area. Our guide Lance was so informative, friendly, easygoing, professional and fun! Each of the great places we went were places that we would never have gone to on our own, but we know better now! Really wonderful tour, do yourself a favor and book it!
Meghan was friendly, informative and enthusiastic. We ate delicious food we would have never tried if we hadn't gone on the tour.
This experience was amazing! Lance was the most wonderful tour guide! He was full of knowledge and he shared some unique facts. The food at EVERY stop was so good! I would book this tour again the next time we visit, it was that good! I highly recommend this tour!
Loved our food walking tour of Chinatown. I went with our three adult children and we all loved it. Our guide, Lance, was the best and took us to 5 places we would have never found on our own - he also shared little tidbits of the area as we were walking from place to place. Everything we tried was delicious and their was plenty of food at each stop. Highly recommend.
This was a great tour! Lance was our guide and he was awesome. He took us to parts of Chinatown we never would have found on our own. This food tour was a gift for my son's 15th birthday and he loved it. We sampled noodles, dumplings, spring rolls and desserts from various regional cuisines throughout areas in Chinatown. Lance even set aside vegetarian dishes for us and accomodated a tree nut allergy in our group. I highly recommend this tour. It was the perfect "experience" gift.
We booked this Chinatown food tour to celebrate my dad’s birthday, and it turned out to be such a wonderful experience. Our guide, Lance, was fantastic — friendly and genuinely passionate about the neighborhood and its food. The highlight for all of us was definitely the pork buns — pillowy, flavorful, and something we never would’ve found on our own. Lance led us to so many hidden gems that we would’ve easily walked right past. He also went above and beyond when I told him last minute that my mom only eats fish; he made sure she had great options at every stop so she could enjoy the experience, too. It was the perfect mix of history, culture, and delicious food — such a fun, memorable way to celebrate a special occasion. Highly recommend!
In NYC for a friends weekend. This was the perfect way to spend the afternoon exploring Chinatowns history and eating delicious food. The pace of the tour was perfect. Some walking, some sitting. Portions and places were well selected. Every location welcomed us and food was hot and ready when we arrived. Excellent assortment of noodles, soup dumplings, gyoza and more! Our guide, Scott, was professional and accommodating. We had a friend who was vegetarian and she was able to enjoy the tour as well! They have other tours as well. We can’t wait to try them next visit! Highly recommend!
Katie was amazing!!! Found so many cool spots in Chinatown and learned some great history. Would do again! Highly recommend in the fall.
Our tour guide was Meghan Sara. We were impressed with all of the food choices. Meghan was very knowledgeable about the area and cuisine. She has a witty, campy personality and good sense of humor. The Food was the star 🌟 of the show.
We had a wonderful Chinatown food tour with Katie. While the dishes we tried weren’t terribly different from ones we have had elsewhere, the experience of eating them in Chinatown with someone who can explain the history, flavors and techniques was absolutely worthwhile. Definitely wouldn’t have been able to find some of the places on my own.
We highly recommend this tour. Lara was a wonderful guide. Food was fantastic. We loved the stories and history that was mixed into this food tour. We went to place I am not sure we could have found without her, Thank you, Lara!!
Some of best stops on a food tour we've have had! And we have done quite a few. This rivals our Mexico City tour. Katie was great and full of info!
Our tour guide was incredible. Very knowledgeable, very friendly. We will definitely refer this tour. Very enjoyable
Katie was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Chinatown and we learned a lot from her. It was nice to see how the local restaurant owners knew her and it made the whole experience more personal. She was very accommodating of food allergies in our group which was a huge positive as well. I highly recommend this tour and Katie as a tour guide!
I recently took the Chinatown food tour in NYC on my own—my wife and son decided to sleep in. I wasn’t sure about going solo, but I’m glad I did! The vibe in Chinatown was refreshingly laid-back, less touristy, and full of charm. Every food stop was delicious, with each spot offering something unique. Our guide, Meghan, was a treasure trove of local history and personal anecdotes that made the neighborhood come alive. We even ran into the owner, Scott, at one of the restaurants. His passion for the place was obvious, and it was a pleasure to chat with him. If you’re visiting NYC, I highly recommend this tour. Next time I’m in the city, I plan to try their Little Italy tour as well!
As a native New Yorker I was skeptical about booking this, but did it because my family wanted to. But I was pleasantly surprised at how great it was! Katie was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide, and brought us to delicious places that we wouldn’t have found on our own. Highly recommend!
Very pleasant and cheerful tour (also, yummy). Was a fun and knowledgeable experience. Will recommend to friends. Thank you
This was so fun, we learned so much and the food was amazing. Really recommend! Our guide was very informative and gave us some great tips on finding other places to eat.
Great tour guide and amazing food spots. I was looking forward to this and it did not disappoint. Cant wait to do some of the other food tours in NYC with this group.
Meghan was AMAZING. She was funny, knowledgable, kind hearted and all around a perfect person to experience a food tour with. In our group, we had a vegetarian and a severe shellfish allergy and Meghan did a ton of research to ensure they had safe and delicious options to enjoy so their food tour was as good as ours. She is the kind of person you wish you had more time to hang out with and more time to go around Chinatown and eat food with since she knew all the hot spots and what to have at each location. This is a food tour you cannot do on your own. She takes you to places you would never find on a tourist map for the most delicious food. It is 10 a 10 out of 10 tour with Meghan.
Megan gave us some interesting background on the history of the neighborhood and our tasting stops were a great illustration of the different immigration waves that have come through the area. We haven't been to Chinatown in many years so it was an eye-opening experience. And also yummy.
We found and met our friendly tour guide at Roosevelt Park quite easily especially when he came up and asked if we were there for the tour. There were only seven of us so we were able to follow along and hear what our tour guide was sharing with us. Even though I grew up here, there are still pockets of the city that need to be explored. This food tour helped me explore a neighborhood I do not always take the time to check out. As our tour guide shared the history of Chinatown, we walked around and ate some iconic dishes such as peanut butter noodles, soup dumplings (he showed us the right way to eat them!), spring rolls, spicy fish stew, and sponge cakes! Even though the weather was hot and muggy, it was an easy walk around the neighborhood and it also helped that we stopped at various establishments and was able to cool down before heading off to the next location. Anyone who enjoys food and would like to explore Chinatown for a few hours should definitely go on this tour. Our tour was like hanging out with friends you haven't seen in awhile and catching up with them.
My mom and I had the best time learning about the history of Chinatown and tasting the food. I would highly recommend. Our guide Lara was knowledgeable, fun, and all around great person. Definitely one of our highlights of our trip.
Excellent guide Meghan with extensive knowledge of NYC food, history and architecture. But the highlight was the food. 5 stops with a variety of styles and tastes. Not too much walking. Great experience.
