I had no idea the west village had so much history and Robin was so knowledgeable and it was apparent that she really loves her job doing this. I've done food tours in many places outside the US, but his was my first stateside. It was a fantastic experience. I am so glad I chose Greenwich over other options. Not only did I sample great food, I learned a lot about this lovely area.
The tour was fantastic. Bert was our tour guide and did fantastic at keep all of our spirits up and interested when the weather was a little challenging. We had a fantastic selection of food and portion size was perfect for the tour. Bert’s knowledge of the the village and city was great and made the tour very interesting. We had a great time even in the rain and I would highly recommend it.

I did this tour with our host, Marie. From the start, I knew this was going to be a terrific three hours. Marie is passionate about this tour and it reflects in her energy and excitement. She really did an outstanding job in showing us the hidden treasures of Greenwich Village. There is so much to learn and understand about the history of the area and she was a wealth of knowledge. However, it was the food that really made this experience outstanding. I’m a foodie and what we sampled was perfect. You cannot do this tour without sampling at Joe’s Pizza. Being a pizza connoisseur, this is an absolute must. A huge high 5 to Murray’s Cheese Shop where we started. The mac & cheese was to die for. Across the street we sampled these divine tacos and guac with a fabulous watermelon drink. I could not leave without topping it up with a margarita. Definitely these places will be on my list to repeat when I’m in NY, again. It was really nice to become more familiar with the neighborhood and all that it has to offer. Our group size was reasonable that we were all able to interact and give our feedback. Marie kept it flowing with relevant tips. I could not have signed up for a better tour, although the next day I did plan to attend the Chelsea market tour. Do check out my review on that. Overall, highly recommend signing up for one of these tours, if not more with this company. It’s well worth the price, but it is extremely enjoyable. To be repeated! Thanks Marie!!

We just took The Original Greenwich Food and Cultural Tour. Our guide, Bert, was excellent. Bert was personable, knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. The stops-7 of them were flavorful and quite enjoyable. This was an outstanding tour. I would highly recommend this tour. Great tour guide+delicious food=an incredible experience
We did the Original Greenwich Village Food & Cultural Tour with Bert as our guide, and it was fantastic from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, funny, and clearly loves what he does. Between stops he gave us great history on the neighborhood, and it felt less like a tour and more like exploring the Village with a friend who knows everyone. The pacing was great, plenty of time to enjoy each tasting without ever feeling rushed. Murray’s mac and cheese was a standout, and Janie’s apple pie crust cookie was a total surprise favorite. Every single spot was worth it, and Bert made sure we understood the story behind each place, not just what we were eating. If you’re deciding whether to book, just do it, and ask for Bert if you can. Best few hours of our trip to NYC.
The food choice were varied and good. We loved the Italian salad on a real plate in a little room with AC! Our tour guide was too verbose. She knows a lot, but was disjointed in her stories - gave us too much info so we started tuning out. Just the salient details would be better. Also her attire could be improved upon - she was sloppily dressed. But she was extremely courteous and knowledgeable.

What an amazing experience! The food was delicious and the guide was so knowledgeable. All the stops were well planned and ready for us to visit. Bert was an incredible guide and had so many interesting facts and stories about the places we visited and the neighborhood in general. At the seated stops we were not rushed and had really nice conversations with other guests. We have been on many food tours and this was one of the best.

Saturday 11am tour led by Marie - a highly professional, experienced, enthusiastic and bursting with local knowledge easily answering all questions. Led a group of 15 efficiently and safely through busy streets and avenues. Starting with incredible mac & cheese at Murray’s and ending with a Rocco’s cannoli the portions were perfect and total amount of food was just right. Certainly needed coffee afterwards and a rest. Highly recommended.

The food!! We had so many stops, and tasted more food on this tour than any other i have ever been on, and I have been on a ton. Also, most surprising part was the walk through town, and the history lessons!! 5/5.

This was our 4th Foods of NY tour. I keep coming back because we have enjoyed each one so much. This time, our tour guide was Rick, but we have done others with Robin and Bert. All the guys are knowledgeable about the area, funny and generally warm and friendly. I have enjoyed every bite and every minute. We always have great conversation with the other guests and if your visiting NYC and don't know where to go, the guides have a vast knowledge of neighborhoods and recommendations.
Just returned from Original Greenwich Village tour with Rick as our guide. Everything was excellent. Rick was very personable and knowledgeable. He made sure everyone was together, knew where bathrooms were and refilled our water bottles for us. It was a very hot day and he did a great job keeping us in the shade as much as possible. The food was all very good! I liked Murray's mac and cheese and Jaine's cookie the best. The fish taco at Tacombi was delicious too. We'll be back for another tour soon. We've done almost every tour with Foods Tour of NY, some twice. Highly recommend every one of them!

I recently took the Foods of NY tour in Greenwich Village and had the fortune of having Ted as our guide. I love food tours and I’ve never had SO MUCH great food on a food tour before- the food at all the many local establishments we visited was delicious and the portions were very satisfying…. We all were so full at the end of the tour! Ted was so personable and gave us a great feel for the history of the area and the stories behind the restaurants. You could tell he loved Greenwich Village and his job. I would recommend this tour for anyone who loves history and great food!!

Fun few hours touring Greenwich Village and checking out some of the food options. Marie was an excellent guide. Has lived in the Village all (most?) of her life. Had great insight as to the changes over time.

My husband and I took the tour to get a sampling of the good eats in Greenwich and what a treat it was. First of all, glad we didn't have breakfast prior to the tour. We got so many delicious tastings that we didn't even have dinner! Our guide was super knowledgeable, engaging and thorough. Enjoyed not only the food and drinks, but the local history. I think our guide's name was Rick. (Sorry if I got it wrong) He was great! Will definitely do this again. A walking food tour is such a fun way to experience the neighborhood.

It was a wonderful tour. We booked another tour from another vendor earlier in the week and are so sad we didn’t do this first. Our guide, Robin, truly knew the city and from the sounds of it, so do the other guides. The food was very good. The walking had purpose with many stops to share stories and history. Wonderfully spaced sit down opportunities as well. Highly recommend!

We toured today with Cindy and had the absolute best time despite the frigid temperatures. She is so knowledgeable and really shared so much valuable information. Our group was small and so we had a good amount of time to talk. It’s so wonderful that food and travel can transcend all different backgrounds and beliefs. Fantastic food tour with delicious food and a wonderful tour guide, Rick who shared lots of interesting history and tidbits about an iconic neighborhood Greenwich Village. Well organized and executed. Stuffed by the end but so worth it for a chance to try a variety of local historian spots. A must do for foodies but highly recommended for just anyone for a day out or for out of town visitors. As a native New Yorker I appreciated it even more because we are so busy we sometimes forget to enjoy what’s right under our noses. This was an amazing birthday gift from a lifelong friend. We got to spend the day together chatting, eating and drinking. Incredible day out.
