Tuffy was very fun and kind host throughout and made fun of my mum the whole tour who missed out due to a hangover (all very tasteful and funny!) Very in the scene himself, so had a lot of information and inside info your average tour guide wouldn’t. Mousey was also a great addition, showing some moves and getting everyone involved. Couldn’t recommend Hush tours enough, great for adults and family friendly also! Great NYC experience🍎

The Hip Hop Hush Tour was very well organized from start to finish! Our guide, Mike C, was incredible—his energy, knowledge, and passion for hip hop brought everything to life. A must-do when you visit New York! Big thanks to Mike C!. Highly recommended!
It was very nice I had a great time
Mike C is the man. What a cool cat. We enjoyed not only the sightseeing, but especially his historical knowledge as a pioneer. The story’s he tills gives the tour so much extra. What guy. Thanks Mike C the answer is 11 August 1973, dj Kool Herc
Great experience Razor out guide, was more performer! He was brilliant taking us round the sights,he definitely had the sounds. Recommend if a hip hop fan,the history and upto today!
Overall, the tour was great! Rayzor was an awesome MC and gave us a lot of amazing hip-hop history. However, a few things could be improved. The tour felt a bit rushed, and we weren't allowed to take pictures or videos on the bus—only group photos taken by the guide. Travelers definitely need time to take their own photos! Also, be aware that the tour drops off by a Harlem subway entrance instead of returning to the starting point, which wasn't stated in the description. When we asked the driver how to get back, he was surprisingly rude to us tourists. Loved the history and the energy from Rayzor, but the logistics and driver attitude need work!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hush Hip Hop Tours’ Birth of Hip Hop tour was easily one of the highlights of our NYC trip! If you love hip hop — or even just want to experience a side of New York you won’t get from a typical sightseeing tour — DO THIS TOUR. It was fun, energetic, informative, and completely authentic. We loved getting out into Harlem and the Bronx and seeing the places where hip hop history was actually made while hearing the stories behind the music, artists, culture, and neighborhoods. Our guide RayZr brought so much personality and knowledge to the experience and kept us entertained the entire time. It never felt like a history lesson it felt like being immersed in the story of hip hop. We walked away with a whole new appreciation for where hip hop started and the people and communities that built it. Such a great experience and absolutely worth adding to your NYC itinerary. Highly recommend! 🎤🔥🗽
It was fantastic to learn about and see where and how hip hop was born. It was interactive and engaging and the hosts were great! Also a good way to see more of nyc.
This experience was amazing , full of fun, engaging with the tour guide who was fantastic, learned a lot, saw more than expected and I highly recommend this excursion if you want to learn about the History of Hip Hop. It was amazing to ride through the Bronx & Harlem seeing all the historical spots . Getting on & off the bus to get a first hand experiences was a great surprise & walking around & standing where famous performers once stood & performed was awesome . I could go on & on about this experience but to put it in a brief sentence, it’s totally worth taking this excursion, wear comfortable shoes & your sun glasses & enjoy the ride. I’d take this excursion again just to absorb the hip hop culture & see & experience Harlem along with riding thru the Bronx. This is a winner & if you are reading this put this excursion on your list .
Listen, a hiphop education was learned on this trip. Razor is an amazing tour guide and was so knowledgeable about the history of hiphop. Enjoyed rolling through Harlem, Spanish Harlem, The Bronx, the Apollo Theater, Ruckers Park, 106th & Park, and all the other historic places. This is a MUST DO tour if you are ever in NY.
This tour was one of the best tours I've ever been on. It was informative and the tour guide, Mike C was very knowledgeable and passionate about hip hop. He really made it fun!! I highly recommend this tour!!
The Mighty Mike C was great fun, interesting, and informative. The four hours never dragged, it was fun throughout. It was more our (grown) kids that were the hip hop fans, but my wife and I had tons of fun. We got to see music holy ground and tour parts of the city we likely would never see. Very safe and fun day. Highly recommended!
Excellent tour. Rayza was the host which got everyone hyped. Took us to all the spots which we felt safe. Even had a little dance lesson. It's an interactive tour. We saw lots of artist memorials and movie scene spots. Definitely worth the money. Also props to the driver not just a driver but had good knowledge.
An amazing pilgrimage for me having been a lifelong fan of hip hop culture.
This tour was beyond INSANE! Me, my husband and my mum were visiting NYC from the UK. My near 70-year old mum decided she wanted to check out the Bronx/Harlem, not quite sure she knew what she was letting herself in for. The irony was this tour was made for me, I was in my absolute element. We were incredibly lucky enough to be hosted by the amazing Rayza and John. The trip from start to finish was packed with history and musical memories rap highlights from living legends to those who unfortunately have passed way too early. Dancing in the middle of a basketball court in the middle of Harlem in front of a bunch of strangers was something I never expected but loved. You will not see picture perfect Graffiti than on this tour... it is artwork at it's best. We all loved the tour and meeting all the people on our bus. Rayza was the most fire guide ever, his love, passion, rapping, friendliness, knowledge was everything. The community are lucky to have him. This tour was the most unexpected, knowlegable, fun, happy, tour I think I've ever been on. I've been fortunate enough to go on lots of tours around the world and this is one of a kind. For anyone curious, wanting to get an insight into the culture, life and people of Harlem and the Bronx in a safe and fun environment then this tour is a MUST... GO!!! 11th August 1973... forever! Thank you Rayza and John, big love from London xxx :-)
It was a great tour. The tour guide (Razor) kept us entertained and very informed about NY. I would definitely recommend this tour to others. Also, the driver John was great and we felt safe in his care.
If you love hip hop and the culture, this is a must! From early beginnings in 1973 to current artists, they explore it all showing where the artists lived and how they were inspired to rise. Also includes Apollo Theater, Graffiti Hall of Fame and, especially for me, Rucker Park! Rayza was a great host who kept the energy high the whole time with his mix of hits from 5 decades to his freestyle on the mic. OG John is clearly a legend and knows all the people and places where hip hop began, evolved and thrived. Check this one out.. Really worth your time.
Highly recommend this fun, engaging, and thorough tour! Our guide Rayza was knowledgeable, high energy and super talented. We all really got an immersive experience in art, culture and history of Harlem and the Bronx. Highly recommend if you want a tour experience that extends beyond typical NY sightseeing!
Our original time had to be changed due to lack of participants however, we were accommodated into another time slot. I spoke with Monique on the phone and she was extremely pleasant and helpful. Our tour guide RayZa was on FIRE!!!!! What a performer, keeping us all entertained despite the gloomy weather. He was very knowledgeable and made sure my birthday twins had an excellent time. We all loved the tour (including my daughter who isn’t much of a hip hop fan so there you go!!!!!!!)
My kids and I had an amazing day! Mike C (and his right-hand man John) was the perfect host; Positive energy, encyclopedic knowledge of Hip Hop's history, and always happy to answer questions. We got stories, historic locations around Harlem and the Bronx, and plenty of film and TV references too. Kid Glyde - legendary B-Boy - gave us a crash course in breakdancing, we saw plenty of graffiti murals, and even met some of Mike's friends and family. Couldn't recommend this tour enough, thank you so much.
It's a great tour very informative, and the guides were the best 👌 Mike and John teach so much and in a fun way, it was a wonderful experience. We'll definitely go again and bring friends! Mike is very passionate about the things he talked about we loved it! Thank you!
I would put The Birthplace of Hip Hop Tour on my must do list for New York. Mike C was our host and Tuffy was our driver. The two of those guys were so knowledgeable about the neighborhoods, artists, and the early days of hip hop. Mike C was there for the birth of Hip Hop and hearing his personal accounts and stories were amazing. Standing on the hallowed grounds of Hip Hop on Sedgwick Ave while Mike C recounted the stories was the highlight of the tour. This is a tour of heartfelt passion and emotion surrounding the world of hip hop.
This tour was incredible! My wife and I are in the US from Australia and me being a huge fan of the golden age of Hip Hop and especially NYC it was everything I hoped for! The knowledge from Mike C and our driver Toughy on the origins of not only Hip Hop but also the history of Harlem and the Bronx is second to none. Any fan of Hip Hop around the world needs to do this pilgrimage to the birthplace! The Mecca!
Absolutely an amazing and informative experience! Traveled to NYC for a quick weekend trip and I must say this tour was one of the highlights of the short weekend! Mike C as the Tour Guide provided a fun, educational experience! This tour is a MUST!
Mike C. was a great guide! He’s very knowledgeable and does a great job keeping participants engaged. We learned a lot and enjoyed the tour.
Easy booking process, meeting point published in detail and easy to find. Great tour guide and van driver, also the Breaker we met on the way. Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, entertaining and swept us with him. Saw and learned a lot. Thanks for a great day!
Mike C was a brilliant host! The tour was awesome. You get to see so many hip hop landmarks and hear some amazing stories about the music, the history and culture of hip hop. I highly recommend this for any hip hop fans who want to see the roots and walk in the foot steps of legends.
I had a great time at the Hush Hip Hop Tours! As a Hip Hop fan, I learned some new facts. Our tour guide Mike C did an amazing job and made the experience a memorable one!
We wrapped up our 6-day NYC trip with this tour of the birthplace of hip-hop in the Bronx and Harlem, led by rapper Mike C of the Fearless Four. We spent about half a day out and about with Mike, a fantastic storyteller who shared a wealth of first-hand insider information about the hip-hop scene. During the tour, we visited many different and incredibly interesting places. The tour was also very varied; in addition to the birthplace, you stop at a graffiti wall, a breaker putting on a little show, and Mike rapping a rhyme by the legendary Kool Moe Dee. You also stop at the Apollo Theater, Yankee Stadium, the Joker Stairs, and various murals. Meanwhile, Mike points out the neighborhoods where the stars lived and tells juicy stories. Highly recommended for music lovers and a must-do for every hip-hop fan. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
I had a great time on this tour. Tuffy was very knowledgeable and personable. I learned a lot; this tour one of the highlights of my visit to New York City.
Excellent tour of hiphop history and places! Mike C and John were our guide and driver and were outstanding! Take this tour!
Amazing tour. Razor was amazing. Energy, wit, and surely one of the most knowledgeable people on the planet when it comes to the history of hip hop. I'm not even a hip hop person - but loved it
This was an absolutely amazing experience. Rayza gives a timeless experience to all hip hop fans. You ride in comfort while getting to see the sights of the foundation of hip hop. This fun filled 3 hour excursion keeps the vibe rolling while incorporating lifelong knowledge.
We had an absolutely fantastic time. Our guide and driver was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the origin of hip hip. Riza had high energy and made sure we were just as hype. He made sure we had a full experience. Highly recommended on your next visit.
This was a great experience. The guide and driver were both high energy and knowledgeable about how Hip Hop began and all those that contributed to its origin and continues success. Very friendly and encouraged participation during the entire tour. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Riza, you rocked!
Really great tour, lots of fun, learned a lot about hip hop. We got an in-depth look at several areas and saw a ton of awesome graffiti (made for great pics!), shot some baskets at Rucker Park and even got a breaking lesson. Razor has a ton of energy and made the tour extremely informative and fun. Enjoyed his rapping too. John navigated the traffic excellently and kept us on time. The two of them make a great team. This tour was great from beginning to end. Even better than I thought it would be.
Tuffy Questell was are guide for the day. His passion and knowledge for Hip Hop, is Nxt level. The break dancing and graffiti, the music and film locations were so good. The experience was absolutely amazing, he such a funny friendly guy. And the areas he took us to felt like I was actually in a HIP HOP video. Actually in the streets you hear your favourite artists rapping about in New York City!! To have had the opportunity to experience this is a privilege and something I will never forget. As a lifelong HIP HOP fan I cannot recommend this enough. Thanks HUSH HIP -HOP TOURS, for making this experience so Good! Keep up the good work 🔥🔥👊👊🎤🎤
Mike C was our guide and was so much fun!! Loved him as our guide and highly recommend booking this experience!! Appealing to all ages on the tour, from age 10-60yrs. Information was so interesting and fun and we all learned something new!! Interactive tour for sure.
We booked the tour, but due to personal circumstances we could not participate. We called Hush Tours and they really did their best to provide alternatives for us.
It was an amazing tour and so glad I did it! It was me and my son and we both had so much fun and learnt so much! Mikey d was a great tour guide, he engaged with everyone from the kids to the adults and really had a laugh, the driver was also really knowledgeable and lovely too.
This trip was unreal. Rayza is sharper than a razer... loved this .. big shouts from the Belfast brothers. Highly recommended..
Couple from London, UK Absolutely amazing tour with our guy Rayza, big hip hop fan and it gave me chills to go to the birth place of hip hop. Rayza was full of energy even though it was -8! Tunes in the bus were on point and Rayza had so many facts and cool stories for us. He looked after us so well and hes always got a home in London now. Really love this company cus we booked a walking tour but then it was scheduled to be a storm and they got in touch with us 3 days before and planned a new tour for us, earlier than the one we booked. We didn't even need to ask. Thats top planning. Also really good if you aint a huge hip hop head my husband is not as into it as me and he loved the tour and learned loads about the culture. Also shoutout my guy rayza cus he knew my guy giggs in london, TALKIN THE HARDEST We will be back for the brooklyn tour, love x
Hush Hip Hop Tours is an absolute must-do if you love hip hop culture. This isn’t some watered-down tourist experience, this is the real, raw, authentic history of hip hop told the right way. RayZa was a dope-ass MC host with serious knowledge, energy, and presence. From the moment the tour started, he had us locked in with stories, facts, and that true hip hop spirit. You can tell he lives and breathes the culture, not just talking about it, but representing it. The tour takes you straight to the birthplace of hip hop, showing you raw, iconic locations you’d never find on your own. Every stop felt meaningful, from historic battle sites to places tied to classic music moments. It wasn’t just history, it was a living timeline of hip hop’s roots and evolution. What really sets this tour apart is how interactive and real it feels. You’re not just listening—you’re experiencing the culture, the struggle, the creativity, and the legacy that built hip hop from the ground up. If you’re a true hip hop head, or even just want to understand where the culture really came from, Hush Hip Hop Tours delivers on every level. Major respect to RayZa and the whole team for keeping the culture alive and unfiltered.

This was an incredible experience. Razor was the perfect host, him and the driver give you an unprecedented view on what life’s like in the hood. The knowledge of Hip Hop that these guys have is second to none. The culture you experience in such a short space of time really shows you what life’s like for people in Harlem and the Bronx. Loved every minute and learnt such a lot. Made us all feel like family. 11th of August 1973 a date I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Salute Razor you did the culture proud my brother 👊
I came for the history but stayed for the vibes....honestly I was about 10-15 min late haha. Before I left my airbnb I called the Hush Hip Hop Tours contact number and communicated that I was running behind schedule. I asked whether it was still worth it to try to make the tour (typically most tours start promptly, understandably). The nice lady on the phone, who I believe was John's wife, encouraged me to still come out. If the group had left the meeting place, I'd still have a chance to meet them up at the Graffiti Hall of Fame. Low and behold, I was late and gave the contact number a call again. She helped direct me to the Graffiti Hall of Fame where I then met up with RayZa and John and the rest was history. Great group, amazing vibes, irreplaceable memories. Loved the energy RayZa brought throughout the tour and knowledge shared by him and John. From the apollo theater to Rucker Park to the birthplace of hip hop, I'm so happy that I was able to attend. Even got to bust a freestyle. Might be too late to ask for the photos and vids that were taken by RayZa that day but memories stay vivid in my mind. Thank you Hush Hip Hop Tours, definitely a highlight of my New York trip. All Love.
Mike C is the GOAT. Best tour ever! Showed us around and told us good stories. Very nice tour. Will come back
This was by far the funniest, most exciting tour I have ever done. Why? Because our guide, RayZa, is from the hood, knows everyone, everything and makes you want to dive deep into the Hip Hop culture. You don‘t only see milestone sights that were and are important for the scene but also get many many stories that make you go Wow! Of course it helps when you are affine to the music - but even if you don‘t (I‘m a Gen-X Metallica fan), you are blown away by the energy boost. And if you are lucky, like us, you walk away with new friends (my two Canadian hip hopsters) you would have never met otherwise.
Great tour with very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. We see many iconic sites and buildings from the history of hop hip as well as places where film scenes were shot. Tour guide was very engaging.
Amazing tour guide! High energy and a lot of great hip hop history. Finally getting to see the place where Kool Herc threw the first hip hop party was priceless!
