Cora was amazing. She knew so much history off the top of her head and was able to answer all the questions we threw her way. Her presentation was top notch. Her pace was perfect with our group.

Patrick was phenomenal. He was personable, attentive and a walking, talking textbook! His historical data was presented in interesting and captivating ways. I learned so many things I did not know. Absolutely a delightful experience!
Guide was very good. Very knowledgeable. He did show up 20 minutes late for our meeting but I guess it was subway trouble which was not his fault?
Great tour guide! Michael Kaish was awesome!
Our guide was provided great detail regarding the history of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Patrick was engaging and had a passion for history. He was able to answer all questions. Overall a good tour. A 3 rating was provided because our guide was late, and no details were provided by the tour operator beyond an address where to meet our guide or details on how to recognize the guide. Even though we had requested this information when confirming our tour. The meeting point is the corner of a very busy street an open courtyard with museums, small park area and a subway entrance. Several tour operators have guides meeting groups in this location.
Michael was our tour guide he was so understanding and caring during the tour I’m 71 years old and he held my arm to make sure I didn’t fall.He was knowledgeable I am going to recommend family and friends to take your tour
Excellent knowledge by our guide. He went at our pace. Highly recommend!
We booked a tour for this morning Through Top Dog and OUR Guide was Maddie. She was a very professional, very knowledgeable, very articulate and knew how to manage our time amazingly well. Her stories will remain forever etched in our brains. It was a lovely day! We toured the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It was just my husband and myself and it was a full 5 hours +. Without her, we would never have enjoyed it as much. Please book with Maddie.!!
Maddie, our tour guide was awesome! She was friendly and professional as well as very knowledgeable of Lady Liberty and Ellis Island! We loved it! 5 stars plus for Maddie!
We had a fabulous private tour with Maddie. We did Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. Maddie was extremely knowledgeable and professional. We learned so much and truly enjoyed the tour. I would highly recommend the tour & Maddie!
This tour was very interesting and our guide Patrick was very knowledgeable about the history of both sites. He was friendly and fun.
Maddie, our guide was great! She was knowledgeable, told us a lot of fun facts and just a pleasure to be around. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Maddie!!
Maddy was a brilliant guide - we learned so much. Definitely the right approach.
Michael was great. He knew a lot about both islands and I feel very informed.
Very knowledgeable guide, great personality
Thank you, Cora, or being such a friendly and knowledgeable guide! The stories that you told taught us much more than we'd have learned from a self-guided tour.
Thank you, Cora, or being such a friendly and knowledgeable guide! The stories that you told taught us much more than we'd have learned from a self-guided tour.
Our tour guide Patrick was very knowledgeable and informative and allowed us to customize our day. The rainy weather didn’t faze him while he presented many facts about all parts of our tour. Patrick was very engaging and enthusiastic about the information he presented. Thanks Patrick for making our tour a very special part of our trip to NYC.
We had an incredible tour with one of the most knowledgeable guides we’ve ever experienced! Patrick was absolutely perfect for the two of us and brought an impressive amount of bonus material from his portfolio to enrich our experience as we explored each site. He answered all of our questions, engaged us in fascinating and in-depth historical discussions, helped us navigate around the crowds, took photos for us, and went above and beyond in so many ways. The day was everything we had hoped for—and so much more. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better experience!
Our tour of Liberty & Ellis Islands was a very worthwhile and enjoyable endeavor. Our guide, Michael with Top Dog Tours, was great. His experience with the ferries availed us of several strategies to place us in position to avoid long lines and instead devote more time to experience the sights. His knowledge of the Statue of Liberty, from its inception by Laboulaye to final assembly on Bedloe’s Island, was very impressive. He set the stage for the tour by taking us back to New York City of the mid 1800’s. And he was able to answer our many questions. We would use him again for other tours of the City.
Patrick was PHENOMENAL! He completely blew away all expectations we had for our tour. He was very organized, friendly, passionate, and super knowledgeable. We are grateful to him for providing such a thorough tour and great memory for our family….on a very busy 4th of July!
Patrick was our private tour guide to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. He was full of information, friendly and personable. Would highly recommend him with Top Dog tours.
It was nice to have a one on one guide to be able to listen to the history instead of fighting for position in a large group setting. Cora was fun & engaging answering all of our questions.
It’s nice to hear the history with a one to one guide instead of fighting for a spot to hear. Cora was an excellent guide and fun to interact with our many questions.
Tour was not worth the money. Tour guide was 30-40 minutes late, felt rushed the entire tour, tour ended 30-40 minutes early. Did not get adequate time to enjoy the Statue of Liberty museum, pedestal/crown. Should’ve done my own tour and just did a little more reading on my own of the facts about the sites.
Patrick was incredibly knowledgeable. It makes such a difference when someone knows the history! We really enjoyed it!
Great experience and Cora was such a lovely tour guide! It was great to learn about the two islands and landmarks, and appreciate how friendly Cora was throughout.
Wow. What an amazing tour with the most knowledgeable tour guide we've experienced. Patrick was absolutely perfect for our trio and had a lot of bonus material in his portfolio that he provided as he walked us through these sites. He answered many questions, engaged in some deep historical discussions, escorted us around the crowds, took photos for us, and more. The day was what we hoped for and more.
There's something wrong with these people. I bought two tickets because that was the minimum for a tour. It's just me, but I bought two tickets. I was willing to do that because this was the tour at the time and day that work best for me. I've done this with other tours before, and I never had a problem. Well, when I got there the guide said the minimum is two people per tour. But if I paid for two tickets, what does it matter? They said it needs to be two people because it's for safety reasons and for a witness lol. What does that mean? If I wanted to run a scam by taking the tour and then claim I never got the tour or that it was low quality, and ask for a refund, wouldn't the person with me be an accomplice in the scam? How would that protect the company? It makes no sense. The manager I spoke with on the phone said when he gets contacted by Viator, he'll authorize the refund. So I requested the refund. I got an email back saying the company denied my refund request. I called the company who said they did not deny it. Then I called Viator again who called over and spoke with Nicole. He said Nicole denied the request "because he kept calling" lol. I didn't even call once! Even if I did, wouldn't anyone call for a refund when they spent $380 and didn't get anything? Like I said there is something wrong with these people. They are scammers and not to be trusted. I had to report this to my credit card as a disputed transaction. Don't waste your time with them like I did. Top Dog Tours? More like Low Down Junkyard Dog Tours.
We booked with Top Dog Tours and had a fabulous time. Our tour guide Cora was absolutely amazing. We completed the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour with her and she was very knowledgeable about the history of each location and made us feel very comfortable as we took a walk through the past. She mentioned other tour options that they offer and we cannot wait to book our next experience.
The entire experience was well planned and organized. Our personal tour, Joel, was amazing!! He gave us so much history about the statue and Ellis island, which we very much appreciated. He was also very personable and fun!! Fantastic tour, great job Joel.
Francesca was our guide and she was excellent! She was quite knowledgeable about the history of NYC as well as Lady Liberty and Ellis Island. She kept it fun and interesting and flexible. I’m very pleased with our experience and highly recommended this tour!
Patrick was very informative and took very good care of my elderly mother in law
Patrick was a great tour guide. Super informative and great delivery! Not boring. He was able to navigate through crowds and ferry boat lines so we never had to wait.
It was fantastic ! Our guide was well informed and shared a great deal of information with us which enhanced our experience. I highly recommend this experience.
This was amazing! Cora was our guide and could not have been more knowledgeable and a wonderful person to have for a guide. She was willing and able to answer all our questions. She was so helpful to us when we needed to find an Uber! We would definitely recommend Cora to anyone who wants a wonderful time learning about New York, The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island!!
Well organized and prepared tour guide Cora made this a really memorable experience.
We had the best experience! Private tour with John, which was well worth it and more. John was an excellent guide. I told him in the beginning that I was having issues walking. He was very caring and considerate! We learned so much from John! Above and beyond! We would never have anyone but him as our tour guide!! Many personal touches. We wish him on his endeavors! Thank you, John! Donna and Carrie
Cora is a very knowledgeable, friendly guide. The tour is perfectly prepared and organized, however it is also flexible, you'll find some time for a chat.
We did the private Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour. The guide, Patrick Kelly was just terrific. Super knowledgeable and great personality. I highly recommend taking this tour. Totally worth it.
Highly recommend! When we return to the city again we will definitely book with this company again. Patrick was very knowledgeable, catered the tour to us, and really made our tour memorable.
He was very knowledgeable, fun and extremely patient. We love the tour. We definitely recommend this tour and the guide.
"Visited on a chilly day, but our guide Patrick made it absolutely worth it. He was informative, friendly, and incredibly accommodating — I truly cannot imagine doing this tour without him. Highly recommend requesting Patrick if you can!"
A great way to see the Statue of Liberty and tour the Ellis Island Museum. We learned things we hadn't known before and Annie told stories of our history we enjoyed.
This was a lovely historical walking tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Annie knew her stuff and made it fun and interesting to learn old and new information. A great way to spend the day with my mom whose grandparents emigrated through Ellis Island.
Michael gave us a fantastic tour, with rich information about the history of the statue of Liberty and more. I was surprised to hear my eight-year-old switch from saying "Ellis Island" to "Little Oyster Island," in one of his recountings of the experience. We learned a lot! As the travel planner, I was able to take a true vacation and hand over the scheduling worries to the guide, which is another sign that the tour was wonderful. I lost track of time and took a vacation myself! As a novice to the city, I was worried about finding the starting point. It turns out that a large number of train lines connect quite near the plaza where the tour begins. I strongly recommend booking the tour and catching an early train to the start. The trains can be paid for without any extra apps on your iPhone, if you have Apple Wallet, or with a contactless credit card. (Couldn't be easier.) You can grab coffee and some breakfast nearby, without necessarily sitting down, and you'll be ready for the day. As you make your decision about this experience, you'll have to choose between climbing to the pedestal and/or crown or taking this tour. I would vote for the tour. There is a free playground near the exit for the ferry, along with a cool merry go around that charges $6 per person, where younger people can work off any extra energy after the tour. Overall, this experience was worth every penny. The museums and statue will mean so much more with the help of the guide. Oh--and in a small detail that I value, Michael steered the eight-year-old to the best souvenir machine: the one that has the copper-looking commemorative coins in the café, not the numerous machines with gold-looking coins that cost more and look plasticky. Whatever you want out of this trip, I think you're more likely to get it with a guide.
Absolutely awesome experience with Patrick Kelly. He made the experienced super meaningful, personal, informational and fun!
We had a phenomenal private tour with Maddie! Her knowledge and passion for Battery Park, the Statue, and Ellis Island were contagious. She tailored her approach for our teenage kids and gave us all kinds of insider info, which we loved. Highly recommended!
John was an extraordinary guide. His knowledge of US history, the statute of liberty and Ellis Island brought everything to life. He was very engaging and had the interest of my sons 13 and 15 as well as my wife and me. The tour flew by. He had passion and enthusiasm. Hard to imagine a better tour guide. Strongly recommend John. He made the experience one we will never forget.
We had a wonderful day and learned so much along the way. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared his love with us.
