Kevin was amazing! So knowledgeable and personable. He asked us all what we most wanted to see and structured the tour around that. Small group was also a huge plus. Would definitely recommend!

Ross did an excellent job highlighting numerous masterpieces throughout the vast Metropolitan Museum of Art. We are locals who have visited the museum (on our own or with an audio guide) many times in the past, but thought it would be wonderful to experience the Met via a guide's perspective in a small group. There were 10 guests in our tour group so it was easy to hear Ross and to follow him from room to room. We started early/once everyone was present and finished on time. There were a couple of galleries where you could sit for a few moments (if desired) while listening to Ross' narration. We really appreciated: how the tour flowed from one era to the next, how the Temple of Dendur came to be at The Met, and learning how the "impressionists" got their name. There was a lot of variety, good pacing, and interesting anecdotes shared. I would definitely recommend this tour to locals and visitors alike.
Enlightening experience! My teen granddaughter and I learned how to understand art in a whole new way! Our tour guide Kevin was very knowledgeable while sharing stories and presenting the art! Thank you Kevin! We left wanting to come back again soon!
This tour provided a fantastic overview of the Mets collection with some interesting and amusing insights and stories of the history of some of the artifacts. Out tour guide, Jett, is extremely knowledgeable of the Mets collection and art in general and was able to provide great information in an easy to understand and engaging manner. The tour was a highlight of our time in New York.
The met is a beautiful place to visit and also have a tour, also our guide was articulate and had so much knowledge in art, this was our first introduction to NYC and its people. She was impatient and made others in the group uncomfortable if they were not keeping up. The rush did not make the tour worth the money or experience.
Emily, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable. The small group size was a real advantage, and the two‑hour tour flew by. She shared great backstories and historical details throughout
Our guide was awesome! He was very knowledgeable of all the arts!
Alex was a fantastic tour guide and the whole experience as a result was very engaging
Lots to see. It was amazing. More than you can possibly see in a day, but you will enjoy every minute.
Our Tour guide was rude and inconsiderate of her tour group . There is a difference between being a direct person versus being down right right rude. At one point I heard her tell another tour guest how ridiculous it was that I and another guest couldn’t keep up with her . She was leading us at such a hurried pace that it felt we needed to speed walk to keep up with her . We felt like we were robbed of the experience we were hoping for when we booked the tour . If you asked her question avout some of the pieces or artifacts there were alot of “ I don’t know” flipped responses . In short , horrible experience. If you can’t deliver a better experience to guests , please stop being a tour guide .
The guide was knowledgeable and considerate. She shared her personal favorites as well as some of the icons. The museum is simple too large to get more than an overview in the 2 hour time but it provides a jumping off place for further exploration.
Jett was very knowledgeable, and didn't mess around! We moved briskly from place to place, hitting the highlights (including some often skipped by most people). His stories were entertaining and full of interesting insight and trivia about the pieces.
Our tour guide Ross W. was wonderful! He shared with us such interesting insights about the museum, and was very generous with his time (folks had additional questions so he went over time for us)! He was easy to understand, shared interesting stories and fun facts along the way, and provided opportunities for us to rest and sit whenever possible. I would absolutely recommend Ross and ExperinceFirst tours!
Ken was a wonderful Guide! Very knowledgeable!
The tour of the Met was our favorite thing we did in New York City. I forgot our tour guides name but he did an excellent job providing interesting information about the artwork.
Kevin was absolutely amazing!! So knowledgeable and helped curate the tour to what we wanted to see!!
The Met is so amazing. Our guide Kevin was so knowable and made everything interesting and relatable. He was great!
Ross was a wonderful tour guide; so informative, easy to understand and follow along with. We would definitely do another tour with Ross and the Met!
Our guide, Chris, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and full of interesting information about the museum and its history and history in general. Made our experience their quite enjoyable. Highly recommended
It was a great condensed tour of highlights at the Met. Our guide Alex was super knowledgeable and we loved hearing everything he had to share. Highly recommend!!
Erika was fantastic! So knowledgable. She grew up going to the met since she lived in New York City. I would highly recommend her!
Christopher was a great tour guide, he showed us the amazing highlights of the met. Thanks again this place was amazing
We were extremely happy with the highlights tour of the Met! Ross was a fantastic guide, and we learned so much in such a short time! I would definitely recommend this tour and we will look into other similar tours with him and the company.
Excellent tour and Ken was great at explaining everything and making it supwr interesting
The guide Erika was not at all impressive.. She spent a lot of time in the Egyptian Sculpture section.. Just took us to the European painting Section.. and left us in front of Rembrandt painting.. Did not discuss any painting of any Impressionist/ post Imperial or for that matter of any era.. Kept saying that you guys have a lot of time on your own.. SEEMS SHE HAS ZERO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT EUROPEAN PAINTINGS… Total wastage of money and time… Could have done it on our own..
Ross did an amazing job showing us the highlights of the Met! Very knowledgeable. Highly recommended
Great experience. Very knowledgeable guide who shared interesting information. And navigated the museum with ease.
Chris was a very knowledgeable guide with academic qualifications in fine arts. He was enthusiastic about the tour and said he enjoyed doing it. He gave us a wonderful overview of the development of Western art and lookedafter us well.
There is NO way you will see everything in one day!!! Alex was a phenomenal tour guide! He's super knowledgeable and answered all questions anyone in the group had.
Our tour guide, Ken, was amazing. He gave us a comprehensive deep dive into highlighted pieces. I learned an incredible amount of information about artists, the narratives behind the pieces, and the interpretations of the pieces themselves. He increased my appreciation and love of art. Highly recommended!
The meeting point was easy to identify. Our guide Alex was very helpful. The group walked in good pace with a couple of short breaks. This tour chose to focus on a single or two items in selected exhibit halls and provided insights for the noted items. So it is not a whirlwind of photo ops. It omits the Asian hall for example. Overall it is a very good introduction to the MET, yet with some in-depth information. As we did an afternoon tour on a Friday we could also take advantage of the late closing hours of the MET.
Excellente guide, Erika. Very knowledgeable, captivating and very nice!
The Met is too big to digest on your own. The tour provided good overview of highlights. Alex was a fun, respectful, and knowledgable guide.
Wonderful highlights tour! Very informative and entertaining.
Excellent experience - guide’s enthusiasm was infectious and made the tour memorable.
Ross was extremely helpful and very informative. he also offered salient details about the exhibits we desired to see.
Ken was very knowledgeable and interesting. The museum Is huge and he helped break it down.
John was amazing. He was very informative about the art as well as the museum itself. He was full of fun facts. We were very happy with our tour!
Kevin was a great guide! Learned a lot from him!
This was our first ever visit to The Met. Alex, our tour guide, was excellent. The two hours went by very quickly and would have been much less enjoyable had we tried to go by ourselves. Would definitely recommend to anyone for their first visit to The Met as it would be overwhelming otherwise.
Our tour guide was Owen. He was amazing and would highly recommend. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and a great value.
Ken - clear and knowledgeable. Great introduction to the museum. Highly recommend.
Jett was a great guide - super informative, high energy, and humorous. Best way to see the Met. Great experience. Would book with Experience First again.
Jett is amazing, but the gift shops close well before closing time. VERY disappointing.
Alex was extremely prompt, explained expectations in detail, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. A very enjoyable walking tour. You should be justifiably proud of him in your employ.
Not a good experience at all. We ( 2 grandparents, adult son, and granddaughters ages 11&14) left the 2.5 hr “tour” after 1/2 hour. We were told to be at the meet up spot 1/2 before the tour. We got to the Met early so that we could get lunch and use the restroom before the tour. But we couldn’t do that because our tickets were with our tour guide and the Met won’t let you in to either the cafe or the restroom without a ticket! Our tour guide arrived 10 min late and did not have a Viator badge or sign and did not wear an orange vest as we were told to expect). We had 20 min to use the restroom where we encountered long lines. 30 min into the tour we had only only seen 3 ancient statues. Very boring descriptions but we learned a great deal about our tour guides life. We couldn’t take it anymore! We had 2 hrs left before the Met closed to get a quick bite to eat and see as much as we possibly could. Beyond disappointing experience.
Alex our guide gave one of THE BEST tours I have ever been on [50+ years travelling!]. Informative, educational., funny .it had everything you want to help you navigate your way around the Met Highly highly recommended..
Erika is amazing!! Her knowledge of the art at the museum was expansive, and she even provided some books and videos for more information on some of the exhibits. It was also great having insight from a native New Yorker! It felt more like a walk through a museum with a friend than a tour guide! I highly recommend Experience First Tours!
Erika was very knowledgeable and a great guide. She didnt just regurgitate facts, but wove the information into a fascinating story. We learned so much from Erika and she made our experience in NYC enjoyable.
I had Ken Cushman as a guide and I really enjoyed the two hour highlights tour at the Met. I learned so much and I can’t wait to revisit some of the spots he showed us. Thank you, Ken!
