Nyc Underground Subway Walking Tour

Our guide was very good, informative, and worked well with our small group. Worth the time, but maybe a little overpriced, which is no reflection on the guide.

We didn’t know what to expect going into this so I will share some of what we experienced: - lots of subway riding - lots of stairs (be prepared) - interesting history provided by our guide Overall, our tour was good, it was just not what I was expecting.

This was a very informative tour of current stations, the history of the stations, and seeing abandoned stations, including the old City Hall station. Our tour guide, Richard, was very informative and helpful. Highly recommend!

Pete was our very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide, providing a continuous flow of trivia mixed with history lessons of the NYC subway system. This tour took us through modern and old stations, 4 train rides and a peek at the abandoned City Hall station, very cool. We highly recommend this tour and definitely will request Pete for further NYC tours!

What an interesting learning experience! This is not a trip into the closed tunnels of NY but an exploration into the living history of the Subway. There are so many interesting artifacts and elements of over a century of Subway builds, tear downs, and rebuilds, and it is FASCINATING. Things a person walks by daily and never pays attention to. This is the tour for history hounds, train people, and anyone who is fascinated by NY or mass transportation.

This was a terrific tour! We learned a lot about the history of the subway system and saw parts of the subway system we don’t normally see. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable!

The NYC Underground Subway Tour was fantastic! Our guide, Pete, was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about the subway system. Even though I had visited some of the stations before, I had no idea about the hidden details and Easter eggs tucked away throughout them. Pete brought the history and unique features of the subway to life, making the experience both educational and entertaining. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in New York City's rich transit history and hidden gems.

So so glad we booked this tour!! A perfect way to learn more about one of my favourite things about New York - the subway system! Travelling with kids, it is sometimes hard to find a guided, informative experience that keeps them engaged but they enjoyed themselves from start to finish! Thanks in part for that is our fantastic guide, Cullen. Travelling in January, I was mindful of finding an experience that would be okay in all kinds of weather and this was perfect. This tour really did end up being one of our highlights of our time in New York so if you are thinking about it - go ahead and book!

Booked tour as quite interested in the history of the New York subway system. Pete was not only extremely knowledgable but also engaging and passionate about the topic. Very interesting tour with the right mix of information and travel to a few different subway stations. Plenty of opportunities to ask questions and general chat about the New York subway. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.

There are a lot of stairs. But it was worth it. Our guide was funny and engaging. Learned so much about our transit system.

Really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Pete was really knowledgeable and answer all our questions. It’s a little be different to the ‘normal’ tourist tour, and great to just slow down and actually look around and notice things you wouldn’t normally pay attention too. Fun tour...guide provided a wealth of information and offered multiple discussion points, which made for a very inclusive journey through the history of the underground. And catching a glimpse of the abandoned City Hall station was icing on the cake

I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about the history of the NYC subway system. AJ, our tour guide, was phenomenal. He expertly explained the beginnings of the subway and how it expanded throughout the city.

Our tour guide was Pete. He did a great job. He was very informative. I loved hearing about how it was built and seeing the abandoned stations. Lots of stairs so if you have mobility issues that’s something to consider.

I had a great afternoon exploring the subway with Pete and a small group. He provided excellent facts and told the story of the subway’s origins. We got to see hidden details and views of abandoned stations I never noticed before. I highly recommend this tour!

We took this tour with our teenage sons for my husband's birthday trip to NYC. Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and we learned a lot and had fun. We especially enjoyed checking out some of the abandoned stations and looking at beautiful tile mosaics and other decorative station elements from the early 20th century. Highly recommend!

lots of history and data about railway and trains. Guide is a railway museum expert. Enthusiastic. Some business history, but, missing stories about the people in the subway, singers, beggers, criminals (?) or even about animals there (?). So, a bit boring in my eyes. Plus, after almost 2 hours in the subway we felt short in clear air.

This is the fourth tour I have done and there's always something new I found out even though I have been a NYC resident for over 50 years! Excellent guides (Thanks Justin on this one) and a very reasonable price for two hours of info and entertainment. Mike

Our guide Rayn was beyond knowledgeable and a great story teller. My wife and I live in Manhattan and really enjoyed learning more about the vast network of tunnels right beneath our feet. I highly recommend this tour!
