Greg was such a great host! He’s so knowledgeable about the neighborhood, it’s story and the stories of its people. The food was amazing and truly felt authentically Italian! He clearly knew the people around us and was so friendly to us and others. We will absolutely book him for another tour next time we come to NYC☺️
Greg is an excellent guide. He is really knowledgable, personable & brings you to the mom & pop shops you could only find from a local. I found my new favorite pizza place on this tour! I am dairy free & Greg did a great job of making sure I was taken care of. Highly recommend!
My son and I had a wonderful combo tour with Greg: the Italian food tour followed by a private tour of Liberty Island! I can’t recommend Greg enough! He is smart and informed AND fun and engaging. I have traveled throughout the world and taken many walking tours. Greg Walks NYC is my favorite and really was a highlight of our trip to the City. Even after having lived and worked in Manhattan for over a dozen years, I learned things on this tour that I hadn’t known. Combined with the delicious foods and Greg’s personable style, Greg Walks NYC is a winner! Cate Miller DeMartino
We absolutely loved this food tour! Learned so much about the local neighborhood. All the food was absolutely amazing! It was a great way to spend a couple hours on a beautiful afternoon. Greg was a fantastic guide and you can feel his pride and love for his family and their neighborhood. Highly recommend
Let me introduce you to my new and very amazing friend Greg! Greg will Bring joy and smiles to your NYC trip from the first moment you meet him! His love and knowledge of NY coupled with personal family anecdotes will entertain and delight your group while walking through warm bustling SOHO❤️. Greg will go out of his way to share his favorite locally owned food establishments that are the pure essence of this charming neighborhood! You will taste true quality, delicious Italian foods that will impress even the most complex pallet! Thanks to Greg for making our trip extra special, memorable and fun!🇮🇹❤️. Worth every penny! I can’t wait to go back and do the Polish food tour!
The vendor canceled the night before the tour. Then getting the refund from Viator has been a nightmare. I’ve been on hold 2 hours trying to get it resolved. Save your time and money and book through another vendor who has their schedules organized. We also organized childcare for our kids and are out on that now too. What a horrible experience that we had really been looking forward to.
Greg was such a fantastic guide to the neighborhood- you can tell how much he loves and is loved by the many people he works with and passes by every day! Tons of great bites, wonderful conversations and stories, and many ideas for future meals in the village- thank you Greg! 💖
Keep your breakfast light the day of your tour. Viator needs to work on their survey requirements. What I said above was plenty!!
Both my wife and I planned for a tourist week in NYC which included a food tour. We booked the NYC Greenwich Village Italian Food tour. Greg was a both a charming and knowledgeable host and exceeded our expectations. Greg introduced us to places in the Village that only locals would be familiar with and we would never of ventured into on our own. If you are looking for a NYC tour that includes both food and history I highly recommend you book with Greg
We rate it 5/5. Coming from the midwest you think of Greenwich Village as some as a tony exclusive neighborhood. Instead, Greg showed us a warm friendly village where century old businesses thrive and providing the true Italian flavors. Greg also talked a lot of history of both his family and other Italians who used to live there. It is a very diverse community now where you can be comfortable visiting.
I cannot say enough good things about our Italian Food tour with Greg. He was an amazing guide and host and we had a wonderful afternoon with him. Not only is the food and tour top notch, but Greg was a pleasure to get to know and spend time with. Our family is already looking forward to another trip to NYC and another tour with Greg.
Greg gave a very informative walking tour and the food stops were excellent. Also enjoyed hearing about his local family history and the historical sites.
The tour guide was informative and knowledgeable. He was very enthusiastic. It was evident he enjoyed what he does.
Great tour! Greg was personable and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious and honestly better than other varieties of the same bites we had eaten elsewhere. The proprietors were friendly and obviously happy to have Greg’s clients in their establishments. Bravo! Recommend this tour!
Excellent tour. Excellent personality. Excellent experience overall XD. I had the best time ever for my first food tour and the best pizza l've ate in my life thus far. Highly recommend, Greg is the goat don't sleep on him if you want a real and authentic experience! ✨☺️
Greg was an amazing guide! He was very know about the area, and he really helped us explore the amazing foods in the area. Highly recommend!!!!!
Greg spoke with our waiters in fluent Italian and ordered us a variety of pizzas, meatballs, and salsa to try. He included facts about the surrounding SoHo neighborhood and was full of boisterous, joyful energy. Thank you, Greg!
Fantastico! We had the most interesting, informative, and insightful tour of Greenwich Village with the fabulous Gregorio, a native New Yorker and a 5th generation resident of the area! In addition to delectable meats, cheeses, and sweet treats, he shared delightful stories of his family and the fascinating history of Italian churches and long-standing local family businesses. What a wonderful tour!
Great tour. Informative, delish, and fun. Greg was very entertaining and the food was great. Until next time. Will do again.
Fantastic few hours spent with Greg with unrivalled knowledge of not only little Italy food scene but also NYC as a whole. What a lovely man, full of life, fun and love, highly recommended
We met Greg at St. Anthony's Church on Saturday. It was a rainy day and cold but well worth it! Greg told us about the history of the church. He told us about a story about his parents and how they met. We tasted proshutoe and were on our way to a deli. Went into a shop that made homemade pasta since 1923. The ravioli was amazing. We tried lemonchello drink. Had delicious pizza that was to die for.went to a coffee house and tea. Had eaten homemade mozzarella cheese with salami. Ended our day with a fruit dessert that was incredible. We made some new friends Natalie and Gayla and Greg! Highly recommend this food tour.
Greg was top notch and enthusiastic about the area and the food was authentic to the area and amazing! We saw the area like locals which is what I love! He was very nice!
Greg was a nice man. I thought I was paying for and inviting friends to a food tour. It was mostly walking and hearing about Greg -his grandparents’ experiences as Italian immigrants, his philosophies and life antidotes. I expected it to be more focused on food. He brought 2 items for us to taste at the church where we started, then we made 4 stops for other tastings. Stops were him going into a store, then giving us a tasting portion to pass around. I checked reviews before we purchased the tour and the ratings were high. The above was our group’s experience.
Greg, our tour guide, was amazing! We had so much fun trying different kinds of food and touring NYC at the same time!
Greg was an excellent and fun guide. The food on the tour was excellent and the people we met in the stores were very friendly. Really fun experience.
This was so much fun!!! My friends and I had a blast and Greg was engaging in knowledgeable!!! All the stops were delicious!!!
Brilliant tour, peppered with interesting facts, an insight into local life and the history of the area. It was a great opportunity to try delicious food and visit places that we’d have otherwise not spotted! Greg was super friendly and knowledgeable.
This was such an excellent food tour and Greg was a fantastic guide - friendly and knowledgeable. On holiday with my mum and sister to New York (mum's first time) and it's one or our stand out memories. Food was delicious - felt very full afterwards, and really valuable to be shown around by a local. Can't recommend enough!
I had such a great time touring Greenwich village with Greg, trying out different food samples. It was very relaxed and Greg gave us insight into New York local life. Would definitely recommend as part of your New York trip.
Greg was a great tour guide for the Italian foods of SOHO and Greenwich Village. Greg was very passionate about the neighborhood since multiple generations of his family once lived there. He was very informative and easy going. On of the highlights for me was his conversing with the shop workers and neighborhood people in Italian. It gave the tour a homey touch.
Greg was a great tour guide. He talked all about the history of SOHO and Greenwich village and how his family once lived in the heavily Italian neighborhood. Greg's talks were passionate as they should be for someone who has ties to the neighborhood. Greg chatted in Italian to several of the shop workers and locals on the street which made for a friendly feel to the tour. The bites of food at each of the stops were all very tasty. I would book another tour with Greg if I return to NYC!
Excellent experience! I liked Greg's Polish food tour so much that I came back for his Italian food tour. And this one certainly did not disappoint! Greg offered delicious food, of course -- who doesn't love a meatball? He also shared some really interesting facts about the neighborhood's past and present... I was amazed at what he knew! As with the other tour, I felt like I was walking around the Village with a good friend. I came for the food, but I was captivated by Greg's entertaining and warm personality. He offers fun, food, and great stories! Don't miss out!
Mamma Mia! If you are looking for a local guide, Greg is the best. This was one spicy meat-a-ball of a tour. My wife and I have come down with a serious case of the yum-yums after eating all the fresh mozzarella and prosciutto.
This was a tasty and informative tour. Greg focused on generational family owned businesses that offered excellent morsels at each stop.
On my actual Birthday while in New York I booked this food tour. I really enjoyed taking the train in from Times Square to get to Greenwich Village. Our tour guide Greg was the best I could wish for and family has a lot of history in the community which he shared during our walk. A few fun facts learned along our route his grandmother being born and raised in the neighborhood, we actually saw her old home and we took an inside tour of one of the most beautiful churches his family has belong to for over a hundred years 😊. Every food stop was delicious he was very family with the owners and staff. I won’t tell everything we sampled so others can be surprised. One of the best highlights is our group surprising me with a birthday song and treat as I was walking back to the table. Of course they made me I was so touched ❤️ P.S. New York pizza does taste good! 😊 and I’m from Chicago home of the best pizza ever!
Greg was a great tour guide. He was very friendly and covered a lot of interesting food stops. Very enjoyable!
Knowledgeable, funny, great with young kids and adults. We were from Hawaii so he also knew a lot about Hawaii. Recommend him highly. Very gregarious and outgoing with us and all the places we visited. Best food tour we have ever taken.
Greg was great. He has vast knowledge of the area and many generations of his family lived there. I went with my daughter and we both think it’s a “must do” for tourists and locals alike!
Greg is great. He has vast knowledge of the area, and has generations of family that grew up there. The food was also great. It was a hot day, but Greg always managed to find us shade and as much water as we needed. I went with my daughter and we both think it's a "must do" for tourists AND locals alike!
Greg is a wonderful guide. He explains the different locations and the relevance to Greenwich village. The food was great and We had a wonderful experience. Took family for Father’s Day and we all enjoyed.
Greg the tour guide was awesome! Food was amazing and I loved the authentic Italian experience! 100 recommend!
Great experience because of the theme topics and because of a great tour guide. Highly recommended for foreign and local tourists.
Greg gave us an insider tour of Greenwich Village with some tasty Italy tidbits. His personal knowledge really brought life to the area; he comes from several generations of locals so he had stories of what life was like in the past. He is also very thoughtful—spent extra time helping us get reduced rate tickets for the subway. A great tour that made NYC come alive.
Absolutely wonderful!!! Fantastic food, great stories, lots of history and all around a perfect tour!!!!! Highly recommend Greg!!!
Meg and I enjoyed every minute with Greg. Greg knows everybody along the walk, and he brings you along like an old friend. It was a fun way to experience NYC!
The NYC Greenwich Village Italian Food Tour with Greg Walks NYC was wonderful. He is so knowledgeable about the neighborhood and the food was great!! Fun tour - highly recommend!
I have taken several food walking in NYC -- and this was, by far, the best one. Greg was so knowledgeable and fun! It felt like walking and talking with family or friends! We learned so much -- and ate even more. Great variety of foods -- and so plentiful! I can't wait to get back to NYC to take another one of his tours.
This walking food tour was amazing. Greg is wonderful. He is knowledgeable of the neighborhood and food. He provided great stories along the way and was well known in the area, so many people said Hi to Greg. The food samples were awesome and plentiful and diverse, with sweets and sandwiches and cheeses. I would highly recommend any tour with Greg, he is a great ambassador for the area.
We wanted to see Lower Manhattan on our latest trip to NYC. SO why not a Walking Food Tour? We reserved a spot with GregWalksNYC for a chance to see Little Italy and Greenwich Village. What a treat! The tour started at St. Anthony's church where we sampled the most decadent chocolates while Greg told us about the building and the Italian immigrant families who founded it more than a century ago. As we strolled thru the neighborhood, we learned the stories behind the storefronts. The market where fresh pasta is made daily...we had authentic hand-rolled meatballs and rich creamy, (Arborio)rice pudding. We drank cappuccinos from a family importing coffees and teas for generations. We ate wonderful lunchmeats and finished with Italian pastries. When Greg leads the tour you won't get an inside look.you will become an insider.
