This was so much fun! I really enjoyed learning about the city in this way, it was unique and fun. The host was absolutely fantastic too.

We had an awesome and spooky time on this tour. We had Joel and he was a great storyteller!
Great tour, fascinating history. Highly recommend.
I enjoyed learning about some of New York history !
This was an amazing tour. Joel was a great guide, an amazing storyteller, and very knowledgeable on the subject matter.
Really fun and interesting Our tour guide was very informative. She was a lot of fun. Enjoyed our walk around Greenwich!!
Maddie was such an excellent guide – incredibly knowledgeable about the local area and full of amazing facts. The two hours absolutely flew by! This was genuinely one of the best tours I’ve ever done. Maddie’s wonderful energy and personality made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Thank you so much, Maddie!
Joel was a great story teller. Very informative and entertaining. Seems to genuinely like giving the tours. I highly recommend the city pass. We have been doing 3-4 things a day.
We had such an amazing informative tour last night. One of our favorite ghost tours of all time! Our guide Joel was so knowledgeable and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Highly recommend.
Brianna was the best tour guide!!! It was amazing. The best ghost tour I ever had.
Maddie was a great guide and is very knowledgeable and entertaining. This was a fun way to spend our last night!
Attending ghost tours is one of our must-do activities whenever we travel. It’s a fun way to uncover hidden history that you’d never learn about in a classroom, and it gives you a completely different perspective on places that might otherwise seem like ordinary everyday scenery. Joel absolutely nailed this Greenwich Village ghost tour with his extensive knowledge of the neighborhood and its history, as well as his incredible storytelling skills, undoubtedly shaped by his theatrical background. He brings the past to life so vividly that you can easily picture the events as they unfolded. Some stories are so chilling that you’ll find yourself thinking about them later that night when you return to your old hotel room in New York City. There are plenty of ghost tours in NYC, but if you’re going to take one, it has to be the Ghosts of the Village Tour with Joel. It will be an unforgettable experience!
I wish we could have gone inside some of the places, but we still got a lot of good information. Joel was a great tour guide.
Joel is friendly knowledgeable and you can tell he has a passion for this subject and his city!
We had a fabulous tour of the ‘Village’ with our wonderful guide Ferdinand. He was very knowledgeable qbout the history of the area and pointied out the clubs, theaters and national historic sites that are well known. Our tour was in the evening so we could really appreciate the lively nature of this classic NYC neighborhood. He gave us lot’s of good tips on entertainment venues we might check out on a future visit.
Maddie was an AMAZING tour guide; her sense of humor and knowledge really made this tour one of the best we've taken!! We were able to ask questions about everything from film locations and restaurant suggestions during the tour! Walking through one of the most beautiful and vibrant neighborhoods of the city was incredible, and we happened to be there on Pride weekend, which was even more energetic and fun! Since we went in a summer month, our tour took place as the sun was setting, which was really beautiful. It wasn't as 'spooky' since it was still light out, but the stories and the history from some of these places were enough to rattle some of us (in a good way). For anyone who is hesitant to book because they may be slightly frightened of 'ghost tours,' I'd say it's more a historical tour than a 'scary tour.' We loved it!
What a sneaky and spooky way to get in a history lesson of Greenwich village! Went with husband and niece, who loves a ghost tour and is also looking at colleges. Did you know that one of the NYU bio / chem lab buildings was the site of a tragedy that led to early labor reforms in the US? We also saw the building where Edgar Allen Poe introduced the world to The Raven and the Tell Tale Heart. Our guide Brianna, was just so engaging and charming. My niece loved her!
Perfect tour. Joel was a great storyteller and the information he provided during the tour was educational and presented in such a fun way
Maddie is a well versed historian and eloquent storyteller, and it was a win to have her as our tour guide. Book a little later in the summer months for a moodier, quieter surrounding - and a greater chance of sighting ghosts!
Super informative & entertaining!!
This tour was great! Joel was our guide and he was amazing! Thanks so much!
A great walk through the neighborhood while learning about its history, both the macabre and the settlers that developed it. Joel, our guide was so engaging and knowledgeable.
My 13-year-old daughter and I had an amazing time with Maddie! Our family loves history, and the depth of her storytelling based in her experience as an historian made our tour so enjoyable - academic, yet spooky. We will remember the things we learned about Greenwich Village forever!!
Joel was absolutely phenomenal, he was informative, and was very entertaining. This was a wonderful tour.
Our guide on Greenwich Village tour was awesome
Super spooky and gruesome tour that gave me the chills I wanted. Cant go on a ghost tour and not feel some sense of uneasiness and this tour did just that! Brianna was our tour guide and was fantastic. Dressed in so many different colours and looked like a Disney character but then started telling the stories and was great at it and getting people engaged. Highly recommended to anyone and if you can request a guide, Id go for Brianna as she was also very friendly and made everyone feel comfortable!
Tour was fantastic, the best stories were the Death House and Mark Twain (Samuel Clemmins) and the story of the fire at the fabric factory! Our tour guide, Brianna, was super bubbly and outgoing and was dressed like a Disney princess with all of the different colours she had on, but then would tell the most gruesome stories which was awesome. Quite the mix and match but it made the tour so much better! Highly recommend this tour to anyone and if you could request a tour guide, I would take Brianna again any day! Overall 5/5 stars experience!
Guide Brianna was knowledgeable and fun. Family age range was 13-70. Interesting for all, made for an enjoyable evening even on a rainy night. Thanks Brianna! Communication prior to tour with any questions was excellent.
A lovely stroll through the village with some not so lovely stories! We enjoy ghost history tours whenever we travel to a new city but hadn’t done one yet in NYC. Glad we had time to do it on this trip. Our guide, Joel, was a great storyteller and we enjoyed hearing some of the hidden history of this neighborhood.
This was a great tour that went by fast. It wasn't overly scary or "ghostly," but a great blend of history and true crime, with a little bit of the ghostly sprinkled in. This neighborhood is such a beautiful area of the city, and strolling around at night, hearing the history and lore, was a great way to experience the city. Our guide, Maddy, was very knowledgeable and a great host.
Excellent tour. There was a mixture of history and ghost stories. Maddy was very articulate and informative. Also gave food recommendations at the end. Not more you could ask for! Would recommend.
The tour was a ton of fun and our guide Brianna was really knowledgeable and great at storytelling. My friend and I live in NY and always wanted to learn more about the city we live and work in. It gave us deeper appreciation for the city, even tho most of the things we learned were incredibly morbid… but that was apart of the fun!
Brianna was a really nice tour guide. She led our small group with charm and told us all sorts of stories. She was very interested in everyone and was open to questions. I would definitely recommend the tour with her.
its NYC so expect it to be loud at times. Our guide was Joel and he was very good. Animated and engaged not matter of fact or tedious.
Briana was excellent! Highly knowledgeable and an engaging story teller. She’s very high energy and has great vibes. This tour gives you a great understanding of not only paranormal history but also local city planning and environmental history. Loved it!
It was so fun!! I forgot to tip because I was stressed about needing to use the bathroom but it was soooo good!!
Myself and my daughter loved this walking tour with Brianna last night. It was a great way of seeing some of the Greenwich village neighbourhood and a fun couple of hours Thankyou
Great tour of Greenwich Village. Brianna was an amazing tour guide with interesting stories and extra trivia.
Very fun, would totally do it again!
Bree was an excellent tour guide. My sons and I really enjoyed learning about the spooky history of Greenwich Village. My sons and I would totally go on this tour again.
Breanna was a very knowledgeable tour guide and was extremely supportive of the group’s walking speed and style. There weren’t as many haunted stops I was hoping for, with a lot of walking between stops, but there were interesting stories for each stop.
Brianna was great! I had a big group come to celebrate my birthday and she was funny, interesting, informative, historical, and spooky. Would highly recommend!
Great tour! Brianna was a wonderful storyteller and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Family of 5 ages 10 and up. She kept things PG but still enjoyable for the rest of us adults.
Overall a good ghost tour in the city with a combination of history and the tales that lead to sightings. Ended up in a smaller group which made it so q&a was easy.
My teenager and I absolutely loved this tour. My teen was hooked at “ghost” but I was compelled by the rich history that Maddie shared in such a wonderful and deep storytelling manner. We learned so much! This was so fun we forgot we were cold. An excellent activity for a first night in NYC!
It was our first time to New York and Maddie did a great job with our tour. It was the perfect mix of spooky, informative, and we a lot about the history of Greenwich Village. It was a super cold night, but we had so much fun!
We had a wonderful time with Maddie on our ghost tour in Greenwich Village. She mixed historical details with ghost stories that were interesting and engaging!
Joel was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, there was no rush, was a very interesting and relaxed experience
Joel made our Greenwich Village ghost tour an absolute highlight. From the first stop, he had the perfect mix of spooky storytelling, local history, and genuine humor—so it never felt “scripted,” it felt like wandering the Village with a friend who happens to know everything. He’s incredibly knowledgeable (the kind of guide who answers questions with extra fun details instead of rushing you along), and he kept the group engaged the whole time with tons of personality and great pacing. Even if you think you “know” Greenwich Village, Joel adds layers—hidden corners, eerie backstories, and those little neighborhood facts you’d never catch on your own. And the best part? After the tour, he didn’t just point and say “good luck”—he was genuinely helpful and walked with us to the subway to make sure we got where we needed to go. That extra care says a lot. If you’re booking a Greenwich Village ghost tour, ask for Joel. Funny, informative, and truly thoughtful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was such an amazing way to see the city. The stories were great and our guide told them so so well. I learned so much and saw so many amazing things we’d never have seen. Can’t recommend enough. It is a bit of a walk so bring the good shoes.
