Phil was very knowledgeable and full of insight on the museum’s history and archives. I opted for the 3-hour tour and that is just the tip of this iceberg of everything that there is to know and see at the Met. I had been before, without a tour, and I had such a better understanding of things small and large by taking the tour. Highly recommend.

We did the two hour express tour of the MET and it was unforgettable! Phil had incredible warmth and he was very knowledgeable. A wonderful tour guide and I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting! I wish we would have done the 3 hour tour! :)
Thanks Phil for an insightful and thoughtful tour of the highlights of the mash. A great introduction to a beautiful gallery and just some of it fine works. Highly recommended.
I love the art at the Met, and have been several times, and having a guide was absolutely worth it. It helped to better understand the context of the paintings.
So nice and helpful. Obviously passionate about the topic and has so many extra photos and data to add.
Phil provided a brilliant and thorough tour. The tour was so informative. Phil has an encyclopedic knowledge of the Met and its collections. We absolutely recommend this tour.
Phil was an excellent guide. He exhibited a great appreciation for the MET, art, and his opportunity to lead the tour. He provided personal insights which weren't scripted. I would do this tour again. There is too much to see and understand without an introduction which a tour provides.
Phil was incredible. I enjoyed my experience a lot.
Our tour guide Ryan was awesome. Super knowledgeable and pleasant. Made the tour a great experience for our family 10yo boot teen daughter, wife and I plus some older couples. In one of the parts, Ryan gave an amazing story and message. I don’t typically write reviews but felt this deserved.
Kevin was very knowledgeable and brought a great perspective to the art. He listened to our interests and guided us through the crowd to maximize our experience.
John was knowledgeable, funny, and patient! Can’t imagine the Met without him!! We learned so much about various time periods
Kevin was absolutely an exciting and energetic tour guide that I highly recommend touring with him. He is born and raised in New York so has been coming to the Met all of his life so really appreciates what he is sharing.
Kevin is excellent and very knowledgable.
Phil was extremely knowledgeable and personalized the tour. Well done. Perfect amount of time for my family.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and approachable. Everyone in the group felt comfortable that we were moving at a good pace but not rushing.
The Met is HUGE! It was so helpful to have a guide like Phil, who was not just knowledgeable about the museum and the art, but the logistics of getting around, and the history of the buildings. We stayed a bit longer to explore a couple of our favorite areas a bit more, and had a snack at the balcony cafe. Great day.
Rob was an excellent guide -he gave enough information and still encouraged questions. I even was able to talk about Egyptian Labors and why the statues stood with the arms down and hands tight - plus left foot out. Saw this later in the Brooklyn Museum.
Kevin is a great tour guide and would love to join again
Phil was an exceptional guide! Deeply knowledgeable, he brought the art and history to life by weaving everything together as a compelling story. His insight and engaging style made the tour, both fascinating and memorable. Highly recommend!
Phil P was an amazing guide. His knowledge and expertise made our visit wonderful.
Phil was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Kept the pace moving well, without it feeling rushed at all. I feel like we got to see a lot of the museum, despite its massive size and limited time. Highly recommend!
We had a great experience with Kevin, our guide. He was very knowledgeable and created a tour based on the group’s interests. We enjoyed our time with him!
Kevin was great. Really great guide. Recommend!
Kevin was fantastic and provided a wealth of information. I highly recommended this tour.
Kevin was awesome, very informative 👏
Kevin was an outstanding tour guide. So knowledgeable. I stayed engaged the entire time! & I loved that he focused on what we wanted to see as a group.
Great experience with Kevin. Very knowledgeable
Kevin was absolutely wonderful. Really enjoyed the tour and would do it again!
John took us on the extended 3 hour tour of the MET. It included good cross section of artworks with the right level of explanation on sections and pieces. We enjoyed our visit.
Charlie was an excellent tour guide! Very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. We learned a lot and had an amazing experience.
thoroughly enjoyed our tour with kevin, especially his expertise with asian/chinese history and art.
Interesting and eye opening experience!
The tour guide was great and informative. She was funny and educational. She made the experience fun!
Great info!! Highly recommend!
Ryan was very good Enjoyed his extensive knowledge So so much to see Only way to experience the museum is with a tour and after 3 hours you only scratch the surface
This was an express 2 hour tour of the Met. It was the only tour with availability when we needed it, although we would have liked a longer one. Rob was extremely knowledgeable and made me think differently about the process of painting and the paintings themselves. We saw the highlights and got a feel for the place as a whole. It's so huge! We stayed afterwards for a deeper dive into some areas , and I would love to come back again to see others.
Guide told the stories of the art in a way you relate to. We had 3 younger travelers in our group and Katie embraced them.i to her tour.
Cherie was amazing! I appreciated her knowledge and her enthusiasm for the pieces she spoke about and even the ones that she did not. It was a pleasure meeting her and I will definitely be back. Thank you for your time today and making my first experience at the Met so special💕Andi U.
Great way to see the Met. We had a wonderful time! Ryan did a great job and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to see the Met in an efficient and knowledgeable way.
Had a great 2 hour tour of museum highlights with Phil D. He gave us enough info to enjoy what we were seeing but not too much. The museum as fairly crowded but we got around ok. The highlight was seeing Madam X. Two hours went by quickly.
Had the best time learned so much. Rob c is so knowledgeable and passionate. So much to learn and he covered so much!
Extremely knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Philip was wonderful.
Kevin, our tour guide, was amazing! He had a tremendous knowledge of art and history. Wonderful experience!
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. It was an excellent museum experience if you love fine art from Egyptian Chinese European you can’t beat the Metropolitan museum or the Frick. I highly recommend taking a tour through one or both and enjoying all the different. Great artists.
The tour does not give you headsets so it’s hard to hear the guide and the group can be up to 15 or 16 people. When I’ve done tours like this in the past, the guide would make sure to hit the most important works. This tour seemed rushed and unorganized. It was made especially worse because I couldn’t hear the guide. I would use a different tour company next time.
Knowledgeable Kevin Extremely helpful, wonderful person, and again an asset to this company!!!!! being a artist and a professor of art what else could you ask for for a guide in the Metropolitan Museum of our? I would definitely send my friends and family here and I would definitely have them take KEVIN’s tour.
The tour operator can’t be reached by phone. We are expecting delays due to traffic and the tour operator didn’t bother checking in on us by calling or texting. When we got to The Met, the tour already started and tour guide have our tickets and we can’t get in. We paid $345 for a guided tour ($30/ea if bought onsite without guide, btw!) and refused to refund us upon “thorough investigation”. It would be acceptable if they just have followed up on us and missed our tour.
Visiting the Met is daunting, but I’m glad I booked a 2 hour guided tour with Viator. Myself and family learned so much and actually really enjoyed the museum. Our guide Jett M. Is very knowledgeable and explained the highlights very well, he was patient and accommodating. Highly recommend Viator guided tours.
Rob was our guide and he was amazing! He was able to connect with all of us. He has a great knowledge of the museum and the art. With the size of the Met it was nice to have someone who could give us some highlights in many different areas. Rob's stories and info were engaging. We got so much out of our tour with him. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is one of the best tours I have ever done in any museum anywhere. Our guide was so well clued up on everything in the museum and took us to see a wide variety of different art forms in completely different parts of the building which would have been very difficult to find on one's own. She showed us some stunningly beautiful work and I stayed another 2 1/2 hours afterwards to go back and enjoy what she had touched on earlier. It was worth every penny/dollar!
