Our guide, Jonathan, was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgeable. In addition to sharing information about the art and collections, he also shared interesting stories about the museum's history. The tour was a highlight of our trip.

This is a tour not to be missed. Our guide Jonathan did a wonderful job making the history and beauty of the MET come alive with lots of facts and fun stories with some humor.

Jonathan was exceptional!! He was very knowledgeable, had great stories, and a good sense of humor. The time flew by!! If you are in NYC well worth your time and money.

Jonathan was such a great tour guide and had so many awesome stories!! We heard stories about Egypt, Chinese culture, and history about the Met.

Marianne was a fantastic guide and truly brought the Met to life! She was informative, engaging and never overwhelming. We covered a lot of ground (no small feat given how enormous the museum is) in the two and a half hours we were together and this was the perfect introduction to such an iconic place. If you’re worried the Met might feel a bit too much then this tour is the answer. Would highly recommend!

Our guide was called Nicola and he was a great story teller and passionate about the MET, which for someone who hasn't been there before was inviting as I wouldn't of had a clue where to go by myself. The meeting point was good and the Nicola was easily identified as per the instructions on the booking. He Took us round the museum with a logical order and told a story which linked into each other. The visit was roughly 2hrs and we were in a small group of 8 people which was nice. There was a point where Nicola passion made the room silent whilst everyone listened to him explain for Van Gogh was a very clever painter, which was admiring to witness, giving others a new perspective on how to look at the paintings. Would recommend this tour for someone who is beginner like me when it comes to art or someone who wants more in-depth details, we could ask him questions and he would do his best to answer them during the tour.

Our guide, Marianne, provided an engaging and informative private tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. (She even managed to keep our two teens interested!) Having a knowledgeable guide made all the difference and brought the Met to life in a way that wondering on our own never could. A memorable experience that I would highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience on this tour! Our guide, Marianne, was the perfect mix of knowledgeable, entertaining, and genuinely fun. The props she used were such a unique touch — not only did they make the explanations clearer, but the extra layer of a visual help me remember. Our Met tour with Robin was excellent! Contact was easy and seamless, and we were able to meet Robin immediately upon entering the museum. Robin is extremely knowledgeable of the museum and made our tour a wonderful experience. We really didn’t have a plan for what we wanted to see but Robin came up with a tour that exceeded our expectations. You will not be disappointed with this tour or Robin as the tour guide. I would love to do it again because the museum is so large and there’s not enough time to see everything.

This tour was informative and a lot of fun. It was super helpful to hit some highlights when you are dealing with something on the size and scale of the Met. Johnathan was very relaxed, and it felt, in some ways, like taking a leisurely walk through the museum with a friend. It was the best. Highly recommended.

This is the only way to make the most of your visit. We covered so much ground! Our guide, Katherine, was the best I’ve ever had. Her knowledge was amazing and so interesting . She encouraged our questions. I’m a native New Yorker and she told us so much history about the building itself, I had no idea. Best decision & so lucky with this fantastic guide.

My husband and I did a Highlights of the Met Museum Tour with Katherine from Cicerone Travel. Katherine had a wealth of knowledge about the museum, was fun and interesting. The two and half hour tour flew by! Also, Cicerone was efficient and I expect we will do future tours with them.

My husband and I wanted to get an introduction to the MET as it was our first time going and Marianne did not disappoint! Marianne's friendliness began pre-tour as she introduced herself a week before and was available for questions with quick replies until we met day of inside the main lobby. Away we went to get an overview of the MET with fascinating, stimulating information shared by Marianne. It was a fast-moving tour as there was much to see and learn about. Marianne kept it interesting throughout making me want to have a round 2 of seeing the next layer of the beauty that resides there. Thank you much Marianne!

Johnathan was great! It was father daughter birthday trip. My daughter is a young aspiring artist and Johnathan went out of his way to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for history and art. What a great experience!

My husband and I booked a small group Highlights of the Met Museum tour, which ended up being just the two of us! Jonathan was our guide and he was great. I appreciated him texting before the tour to check in, and then providing a picture of himself so he was easy to find. He was personable, knowledgeable, and interesting. I enjoyed that he not only talked about the museum pieces, but also incorporated some history of NYC. It was also nice to talk about our travels and commiserate over our shared sports teams. We could spend days in the museum, but this short tour was a perfect way to get a small taste of what it has to offer!

Jonathan was an amazing guide at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I've taken several tours in the past and I learned new information and saw new things today! He carried a notebook with visual aids on what the original Met building looked like and how it has changed over the years. Quite a nice guy and very enjoyable. 2.5 hours was just long enough.

I had a wonderful time with Katherine. She was very knowledgeable, charismatic and fun. We definitely learned a lot and had a great time doing it. She was very attentive to our interests but there is so much there to see, I’ll have to schedule another tour with her one day to try and see the rest of the museum

We did some Tours in NYC and Boston, this one was by far the best! The Met Tour with Jonathan was a Highlight! We enjoyed the very well composed, fun, interesting, informative Tour through this amazing museum. We highly recommend Jonathan - as my sister Said „I wish we could do an entire New York City Tour with this guide“. Alltogether an excellent experience!

Had a wonderful experience. Jeff was our very knowledgeable art guide. We were lucky enough to have Jeff to ourselves for our own private tour. Jeff showed us the hi lights but also asked us what art we were interested in and tailored the experience to our preferences. We had a lovely time looking around The impressionists and my mum was thrilled to see 2 Caravaggios

I highly recommend the highlights tour as it prevents attendees from wandering aimlessly and wasting precious time. Jonathan was a great guide and showed us all the best areas of the Met. He was very professional, fun, and informative.

Amazing museum, mediocre experience. We've recently been to the Louvre and the British Museum, the former with a guided tour. We've done many guided tours in the past. The hope is to get a guide that is very passionate about the museum, which we certainly got. Unfortunately, he didn't seem to know much or care to tell as much about the actual pieces in the museum. We got a lot of personal anecdotes and a few stories about how the Museum obtained certain pieces. Nothing specifically about the pieces themselves. The couple that was with us asked a few questions about certain pieces, for which he had no answer (despite reportedly working for the museum for the past 40+ years). For instance, he didn't point out or tell a story about a single painting. We paid for a 2-hour tour but he was ready to be done with us at 1 hour in and kept asking if we wanted to see anything else. We said we wanted to see the Renaissance area, he brought us up there and left us unceremoniously at an hour and 30 minutes in. The sad part is, we were ready for him to go. Extremely nice guy, amazing museum, not a great guide.

Jonathan was an outstanding tour guide! He gave us so many insights not just about the collections, but about the origins of the museum and a number of its benefactors. We learned so much. I highly recommend this tour!!

Our guide Katherine was very informative and gave my son (17) and I insights into the art as well as the evolution of the museum itself. You couldn’t see all the Met has to offer in 3 days, let alone 3 hrs, but Katherine gave us a great overview.

Viewing and appreciating in full the Met Museum's collection is the work of a lifetime. But, we enjoyed and benefitted immensely from the introduction provided by the Highlights tour. Bob our guide was very knowledgeable on not only The Met Museum but the general history of New York. His knowledge was very impressive. He took time to answer all of our questions and was pleasant to talk to. We didn't feel rushed at all .

We took a 2 hour family tour of the Met with Marianne. She did a fabulous job of taking us around and managed to keep both my kids engaged for most of the tour which is no easy job. Working with Cicerone Travel was also super easy. I needed to add an additional member to the tour a couple of weeks before and the response was fast and courteous. I would highly recommend this tour for those interested in seeing the Met with limited time (or attention spans).

Because of weather in NYC, we switched our Met day (and to Cicerone Travel's tour) at the last minute, from another very well reviewed similar tour. We were cautiously optimistic it would be comparable and we found it to simply outstanding. Jonathan, our guide, contacted us prior with instructions on finding the tour, breezing through security, etc. We had about 13 people in the group and it was a good size, could move around easily, yet hear everything. Jonathan was knowledgeable, well prepared, easy to understand and interested in the group's members. We saw literally the best highlights of the Met, yet still were there for several hours, moving at an efficient pace. No reservations in recommending this tour to anyone interested in seeing The Met (and not getting lost/sidetracked in the process).

Jonathan was able to take my husband and me on a private tour of the Met Museum with only a few days notice. The last time we were in NYC, we wandered around the Met on our own for a few hours. It’s a fantastic but huge museum and we felt that we unknowingly missed some significant exhibits. At the last minute, we decided that we wanted to be more organized this time and Jonathan was great with guiding us through the museum. As he pointed out the highlights of the museum, he also gave us the history of how the museum came to be. He engaged us with his enthusiasm and knowledge of ancient civilizations and different schools of art. We ended the tour by going to the rooftop garden (we had no idea it existed) where we had a fantastic view of the neighborhoods surrounding the museum. Jonathan was instrumental in helping us navigate through this awesome museum.

Every part of this tour was our favorite! Kevin was AWESOME!!! He showed us many parts of the MET and explained many aspects of each area shown. Kevin is the best tour guide for the MET. Book it today!
