Always do a cycle tour wherever possible to get familiar with area. This operator however needs to maintain cycles better as worst I’ve been on.

The company has 2 locations and when I showed up for the tour I was told that the meeting location was at the other location. In their email confirmation I was possibly deliberating given the wrong meeting location, as I was told I was the only one to have booked a tour that day. The company hasn’t reached out to apologize or give me a refund. Untrustworthy outfit.
Our bike ride with Ben was brilliant. He showed us all the sights, explained the history of each of them, pointed out the unusual and kept us safe. The route was good and the bikes were great. Highly recommend.
Our city biking tour was excellent! Gunther, our Belgian tour guide, made the trip a blast. He knows a lot of history facts that make the trip even more interesting.
The tour guide, Carla, was fantastic. The bikes were very good and appropriate for the tour. This may be the best way to experience NYC.
Freezing cold and still had a blast! The bikes were great and we felt super safe. We will definitely ride again.
I did the tour with Carla. She was great, gave a lot of historical information and was very safe in the way she drove the group. It is a nice way to begin my stay in NYC with some of the main landmarks.
Great way to see the City! We were guided along a safe path, mostly in bike lanes. (You do need to be prepared to ride in some slow traffic.). Saw sites and stopped at waterfront parks you just miss in a motor vehicle. Our tour guide Johannes kept good track of the group and offered some historical inisights. I’ve spent a lot of time in the City and have biked much of this route before. It was a new experience for my partner. We both really enjoyed it! A great way to see part of NYC and get some great views, especially on a beautiful day! The bikes were perfect for the terrain and in excellent shape. Other than one rider having her chain slip off (not uncommon and quickly fixed), there were no mechanical issues. This was much better than many other bike tours we’ve taken. Highly recommend.
Bob was a great guide. He tailored the tour to our interests. Lots of useful information and a little bit of New York gossip. Absolutely loved the tour!
Great bike tour and the tour guide Richard was really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The issuing of the bikes at the start was a little chaotic and the tour started later than planned. But Richard still kept us out for the full 3 hours which was great.
Cycling tour was good. But I had booked an English tour and also got a confirmation for the English tour. But when I showed up they said I was the only English speaker so they put me with the Dutch group. The guide Petra said she'd adjust by translating some. While she did translate some parts it wasn't the same experience. I felt I didn't get what I had paid for. If they didn't have English tour they could have informed in advance and given an alternative date with an English tour instead.
Great overview of NYC’s top attractions. The tour covered many landmarks, and the guide was passionate. A bit rushed, but worth it for first-timers.
The guide John was great and the experience itself seeing Manhattan by bike is cool. BUT we did this tour as a family with two kids for whom it was important to have a tour in Dutch so I found this option and booked it weeks in advance. But when we came, the manager said: the tour today will be in English guys. No explanations, no apologies…just like that. Kids were disappointed not being able to understand and so were we by bad management of the very special experience which was spoiled for us.
Great ride in NY with a great tourguide Bob. Very enthousiast, funny man.. Great experiance for 3 hours. Tells a lot of info about NY and it’s history. Shows a lot of spots in manhattan. It was a good start for week of fun in NY.
Very well organized, top of the line e-bike, super comfortable and easy to ride, knowledgeable tour guides and office personelle, warm and friendly and very welcoming operation, felt safe and loved the itinerary and areas covered. Gorgeous views of NYC, especially riding back and forth over the Brooklyn Bridge. We all had so much fun. 👍👍👍
I have done bike tours in NYC before as well as in France, England, and Italy. So here’s my feedback. Alex our guide was great and very knowledgable. He spoke a bit fast but perhaps that was due to the intense heat! It was a super hot day. The bikes were only in fair condition-all of our brakes squeaked. Making all our stops a bit loud. The pouch to hold items in the front was very old, and only some bikes had an installed rack for water. The person who was to ‘fit’ us to our bikes really did not. I asked him to help as I had 2 teens with me, he said it’s personal preference, but it reaked of he just didn’t feel like it. Not white glove here by any means. There was no lunch break, which was fine, but I think people should be well alerted to this in advance. As our tour was 11-3, we thought there would be an organized perhaps brief stop. Our guide was kind and offered, but I didn’t want to suggest something that others might not be amenable to. The return the bike location cross town offers no sights to see and is an additional 10 minutes on the ride, this could be executed better. So. Alex was great. But…
Ride was fun and Alex was a great guide. Downside is that it was very hot and sunny. Plus my bike seemed to have only 4 gears.
Highly recommended. Great guide, knowledgeable and patient. You get to see the city as a local. I'd recommend keeping the bike after the tour is finished and doing a loop of Central Park.
Great NY Highlight tour with Bob. The tour was very well organised. The bikes felt like-new and well maintained. We saw and learnt a lot of fun facts. There were 14 in our tour but we never got left behind and Bob always made sure everyone was looked after. Little Island was a nice stop, especially for the toilet. The bike collection/drop off didn't have any restrooms! Luckily, Sweet Green half a block down from the Brooklyn Bridge shop had restrooms, and the Bread and Butter bakery at the Central Park shop too. One thing it doesn't say on the website is that you don't finish where you start; our start was near Brooklyn Bridge and we finished at Central Park.
Alex the best tour guy! If you' re lucky to have him.. that woull be awesome ! Very funny and so much informations about all the mportant points he will show you.. We love it ! And we will love to do it again next time with him!! Ludmila and Antony
Terrible customer service experience. I was in NYC for prior Sunday, so I decided to book the NY Highlights bike tour. - The site had 1 spot available in the "NYC Highlights tour (English or Dutch)", which I selected. - There was a drop down allowing me select English or Dutch, I selected English. - I received a confirmation email that said "NYC Highlights tour (English or Dutch)" in the title, yet the email confirmation body said "Dutch" and the confirmation ticket said "English-Guide". - I take the 1 hr train ride and subway ride to their downtown location - I was informed that there was no actual English tour (nor guide) available that day - I tried to get a refund, the operator keeps saying it was my mistake for selecting the wrong language even though the WEBSITE STILL OFFERS ENGLISH when they said it didn't actually have an English tour (yet the confirmation ticket screen shot I showed them clearly showed "English-guide"). Don't know which guide you're going to get when you show up, book with them at your own risk!!
What a great way to learn about this amazing city…on two wheels, in the fresh air and through the eyes of a lifelong New Yorker. Chuck shared fun insights from growing up in the City…the history and changes through the decades.
We booked this tour through Fat Tire Bike Tours, who we have used numerous times before What a brilliant tour, our guide Bob was very good Only 6 of us, which was great and made it more personal Saw a lot of the city and this is the best way to do it
Skilled guide on the streets of Manhattan, negotiating traffic and construction. Places we would not have discovered on our own. Interesting information, especially about the marathon held this week.
Johanes was a great guide and the tour was lots of fun. Such a great way to orientate your way around the city.
The bike tour with our wonderful guide John exceeded all our expectations. John was so knowledgeable and fun, a third gen New Yorker who knows everything about the city. It was a true gift to spend a day with John on our bikes. Thank you John, you‘re the best guide ever 🌟🌟🌟
Bob the guide was great fun, loves his city and has a wealth of knowledge, loved the pace of the tour got to see lots of amazing sites thank you
Great tour. John was our guide and he loves his city. Highly knowledgeable, gave us local hints and tips, details of a great bar in Greenwich and directions to a club we wanted to find. This tour gave us a great insight into the city. Got to be aware of what is going on around you, but to cycle Central Park, through Times Square and lots of neighbourhoods was a great opportunity. Nice and flat, no issues with the bikes. Ladies I recommend the basket for any bags. I carried a rucksack but it did get quite hot! Thanks John, pleasure to meet you. 🇬🇧
Very nice experience! Small group size and a great guide: Johannes. Bikes were in good condition overall. The tour takes you past some of Manhatten's many highlights. From the northern edge of Central Park to the foot of Brooklyn Bridge in 3 hours (just over 20 km). Must do if you want to explore NY in a different way!
A great excursion with Alex our guide from Central Park down the East side and finishing near the Brooklyn Bridge. Lots of information and history to absorb with interesting little known facts. Lots of links to where well known movie scenes were filmed and passing the homes of the rich and famous. Alex gave us useful tips on how to enjoy the rest of our holiday - places to eat, drink and visit. Highly recommended.
This was an awesome trip! Our exceptional guide Kevin felt we should head north into Columbia University, then south all along the Hudson River, to a little man-made island, and we ultimately flew down Broadway! Our college kids loved it, as did we! This was a rigorous ride with a fast clip and was great fun for the whole family! We really got to see a different part of New York and really enjoyed our guide Kevin as well! Definitely would highly recommend
We had Dan as a tour guide of our contiki group Central Park bike tour on the 31st of December 2019. He was super informative but also really funny and interesting to listen to. He engaged everyone really well and it was an overall great experience. He showed us all the must see areas and gave us some good advice for the rest of our trip. 10/10 would recommend to friends
Highlights tour was the highlight of our short trip to NYC. Great way of seeing the city and Kevin was a great guide telling us lots of stuff you wouldn't ordinarily learn. Would recommend this trip and Kevin to all. Bikes are good quality (Cannondale) and the cycling not too strenuous. I'd say kids over 12 and any adult that's even moderately fit will be fine. A lot of the riding is on bike paths and even on the road you never felt unsafe, even cycling full tilt down Broadway, which is as bonkers as it sounds and chuffing good fun. And putting the worlds to right - we did it all; great banter/discussion/knowledge share with Kevin and the group throughout. 2 from Holland, 2 Canadians, 2 Brits and a New Yorker and we felt like we'd known each other for years. Vive la Revolution Kevin my friend.
This is a bike tour we would highly recommend to see the sights sounds and smells of Harlem. This is an area of NewYork with much history, and Debra does a great job of sharing it. We learned more about the area during the two hour ride than we ever could have on our own. Rich with music, art and famous people, Debra navigated us through it....And she had great advice for food and activities to come back for.
Our first time in NYC, this tour gave us a great overview of the city and inspired some of the itinerary for the rest of our trip. Our local guide Debra was fun, entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. She couldn't have done more to make us feel more at home on our first visit to this amazing city. Thanks.
Debra was a great tour guide and we all really enjoyed our bike tour. It's a great way to see more of the city without having to navigate yourself. The bikes were decent quality and well maintained.
First thinks first: ask for Kevin. He will give you a three hour ride through New York and he will share his knowledge and wisdom with you. Not only will you meet one of the nicest persons from New York but he will share HIS view on New York from his perspective with you. You will see highlights of new york that you won't find on any common postcard. Do you know where John Lennon and yoko Ono lived in New York? Guess what, Kevin will show it to you! If you are curious about the silicon chip he also will bring you to its birthplace. This tour was money very well spent. To us it was like meeting an old friend who shared his thinking with us, told us about his city and his life. You will be in good hands even when you are riding through new York city traffic! If there is just one thing you want to do in New York, this should be it! Ute and Marc from Bremen, Germany
I highly recommend it and my family too
We had the best bike guide ever, Ghünter, he guided us through New York and showed us all the things. Wherever we could cycle through he did. We have learned and seen a lot. Top guide, we were very satisfied.
Perfect way to see a lot of the city. Benjamin is a very enthusiastic and good Guide. Several neighborhoods visited with good explanation.
It was a very good tour that showed more of New York than just the standard attractions. In addition, we had e a super Guide, Benjamin, who could tell very well about the background and history of the places we visited in New York
Chaos when picking up the bikes, the tour therefore started 1 hour later than agreed, the guide was nice and had a lot to say, the tour did not quite stick to the schedule, it was stated that we would also do the Brooklyn Bridge, but it was skilfully skipped, seemed to be a different tour, had I known that, I would have discussed a different tour.. The tour itself was quite chaotic, also because it was really busy in the city. The group was actually too large (15 people). Returning bicycles was also just as chaotic. It seemed that people were not fully prepared for the crowds.
Unieke ervaring met een Amerikaanse gids die het verschil maakt 👍 We hadden geluk met kleine groep en mooi weer, was leuke ervaring
Enjoying New York with a group full of Dutch people. Nice explanation from the guide, you are agile and fast everywhere you go. Plenty of breaks and fun things to see.
There is no Dutch guide available in New York. Moreover, the exact same bike tour is included in the GoCitupass, so it can be done much cheaper. The tour itself was fun to do.
Guide Manny was not to blame, the 3-hour bike ride through the different neighborhoods of New York was a lot of fun to do. The sun was shining and it didn't rain once. The bikes were fine, as were the bike paths. I would definitely recommend it. But... The logistics were very poorly arranged, there were more participants than bikes and we had to wait 1.5 hours for new bikes. In itself that can happen, but the staff kept claiming that there would be cycling within 10 minutes. After several customers ran away, the remaining ones received a 25% discount on their bike ride. Nice to see that NY is becoming more and more of a pannier.
