Alex was so much fun & a wealth of information! He was always eager to answer questions & insure we were enjoying our tour. High Line was so unique, food was great & sites pointed out we would have missed. Highly recommend!!

Claire Buckingham was wonderfully knowledgeable about New York City history and lore. The food selections were tasty, and the HighLine, Greenwich and downtown walks were steeped in the history and growth of NYC from a beaver fur trading outpost through the origins of the US to the present-day Wall Street. Claire was funny and entertaining throughout!
We did the Greenwich food and Historic Downtown combo tour. Our guide, Claire, was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She was also quite funny keeping the tour fun. The small tour size makes for the best experience.
Enjoyed the Historic Downtown Walking Tour with family. Our guide Annabel was both knowledgeable and a great story teller. We got to know one part of New York much better thanks to her!!
From the beginning to the very end, this tour was fantastic! Jake was our guide (awesome guide) and provided knowledgeable insights into all areas along the way. Food stops were great! Definitely would recommend this tour for those looking to get away from the Times Square crazy and enjoy some more scenic historical views. 10/10!
Jake was awesome. Super personable and knowledgeable. Great conversations and I love that he knew about so many broad topics. Great company and a great tour.
What a fantastic experience! I met Jake on a food tour/walking tour last year and was impressed by not only his knowledge of everywhere we explored but his enthusiasm. He's amazing! Manhattan Walking Tour has great options for exploration of all things NYC has to offer but Jake brings them alive. I specifically requested Jake on my return trip this year to guide and educate us on our adventure. He is fun to explore with and I hope to make it back next year to explore more with Jake. You rock Jake!!!! And thank you for making our trip special.
We have booked triple combo tour (high lines+greenwich village food tour-downtown). Out guide Jonathan started ok: First part of the tour in general was fine, the walk is beautiful, Jonathan had some stories to share. However, when we switched to food tour, it started to be very disappointing. Food selection was very strange and poor (especially for non-US) as well as the stories from the guide. He talked a lot, but he was not really good with names/places/dates etc (according to him), so it’s hard to really deep dive into history of the city..Also the story-telling skill was not really there. We were 4, other couple escaped before finishing the tour. We also tried to finish earlier, but guide wouldn’t let us go..we had to really insist. I guess one can easily find cheaper and better NY tour.
Our team was in New York for a leadership offsite and decided to get out of the office for a walking food tour. We found Cozymeal through Eventbrite and were very interested with the walking food tours. Claire reached out and curated a 2 hour walking tour of historical Greenwich Village. We arrived late for our appointment and were still able to get through all of the stops (plenty of food) walking at a New York pace! The food was delicious and the history lesson was informative (tons of information I did not know). We will definitely be back to do other walking tours with different groups!
Jake is an enthusiastic guide who is very friendly and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a fabulous day.
This tour was awesome. Claire was amazing so knowledgeable and willing to adapt the tour to visit a couple of T.S. Landmarks in the West Village that my daughter really wanted to see! The food we tried was amazing. Truly great tour- would highly recommend! P.S. Claire didn’t mind that we kept getting distracted to pet dogs either 😂
We had a wonderful experience on the High Line, Greenwich Village food tour. Claire was an outstanding guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We learned so much about the history of both the High Line and Greenwich Village. The food stops were fantastic. My friends and I highly recommend this tour.
What a way to see and learn about Greenwich Village. Jake our tour guide was fantastic! He was very energetic, funny, and very knowledgeable about the history surrounding Greenwich. The food was really good! Come hungry! 😊I highly recommend this fun tour.
Claire was an excellent guide. We took the Highline, Greenwich food, and Financial tours. Claire was very personable and gave us some great information and history. The food was diverse and great. I highly recommend Manhattan Walking tours.
We had an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Nicky, was very knowledgeable and tailored our experience based on our interests. The food was amazing too. Overall it was a blast, the time flew by!
Claire was Awesome, we had a great time she was very informative and made our tour exceptional. I highly recommend this tour.
I love waking tours and rate this one highly. With the small group we got incredible insights and snippets into the city and history. We covered a lot of the sights iand the food was next level, at places we would never have found on our own. Tour guide Jake was like a friend showing us the city. Fantastic.
Our tour guide Alex was very engaging, knowledgeable and made the tour a ton of fun. The food stops were incredible, best food we had in a Manhattan.
Took this tour with Jake whose knowledge and easy going personality made the day informative and enjoyable. Getting the right balance of history and fun facts. The food was varied and delicious. This combination tour was great value.
The whole tour was a great experience. Alex, our guide was a delight, The food was a great selection. The knowledge gained was extensive. The time flew. Couldn't be better.
I've been to NYC several times and this was a fun new experience to learn new things about the city...and of course eat some fantastic food. The food selections were all different and does include an absolutely delicious slice of NY pizza! If you enjoy doing things off the beaten path and learning about some of NYC's history in this part of the city, then I highly recommend checking this out. Our guide Alex was so nice, explained much about the areas history and was an absolute delight to spend a few hours with.
Fantastic and fun tours made all the better by our guide Claire who has a wealth of great information and stories. Recommended.
If you’re going to do a good waking tour do this one! Claire was everything and more from what you’d hope for in a NYC guide. Informative, entertaining, engaging and very funny! The food stops were brilliant, (the pizza sauce was to die for). Loved it and will definitely be recommending to friends. 10/10
Jake was lively and engaging in this walk along the beautiful high line and through Greenwich Village. We had some of the best food in Manhattan, from small local businesses that know how to do pizza, pasties, and pastries right! He gave us a sense of the history of each area and had some amazing stories – you have to take the tour to find out for yourself! 😊 Highly recommend this tour!
We went on this incredible tour for my birthday. Claire was amazing, so much good knowledge was shared. She was down to earth and we had the best time! I would absolutely take another one of these tours (& hope I get her as my guide again!)
Jake was our phenomenal tour guide. My husband and I, 2 teenage kids, and our dog did 2 days of walking tours. Perfect thing to do with a dog. Jake was highly informative and infused a fun energy into our tours. Answering all our questions and giving us tidbits of fun facts along the way. The food on the food tour was so yummy - we loved the variation. The story telling in the historic tour made all the buildings and monuments come to life. You never know what you're looking at until you hear the background story. Thanks Jake for an awesome adventure!
Great way to see a local neighborhood and discover some good eats... The guide (Alex) did a great job sharing the history of the area....
Clare was awesome. We had amazing tour guide with historical background knowledge. We learned so much in details.
Our tour guide Claire was amazing! Her information was education and also super interesting. She catered well to us and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. We had a great time and definitely recommend this tour!
Great tour! Alex was very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk with :) Really helped us a lot, we were traveling with a wheelchair and he was very flexible! Excellent food to :)
The tour guide Claire was fantastic! Although I have lived in New York since 1980, we were sharing the City with our grown children and it was great to see my City through her eyes. The food was fantastic. Love Aux Merveilleux (was thrilled to find out where they are located as a friend brought their delicacies for dessert when she came for dinner)! The pizza was excellent and particularly nice the owner spent time with us. Also, loved, loved Taco Mahal! Just the best. Will be back there soon. Everything was excellent. Thank you Claire for a wonderful time.
Listening to Claire explain the history & stories of the areas we walked through. Claire is an excellent guide & the tour was exactly what we were looking for.
Tom was a great, informative guide who was happy to answer all questions. All food stops were delicious, nice variety. We learned lots of interesting things about High Line, Greenwich Village, One World Plaza and financial district. The tour is definitely worth your money one and money.
Just had the most AMAZING experience with Jake on this tour. We spent all day with him and feel like we have a new friend. His knowledge of the area, historical facts, and little known facts were fascinating. We loved the local food places he took us to and learned things we never would learn on other tours. We feel like locals now! We will be back in July with our kids and will book with him again!
AWESOME TOUR, JAKE IS AN AMAZING GUIDE HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This was by far the BEST walking tour my husband and I have EVER taken. Our guide, Jake was fun, knowledgeable, kind and LOVES his job. The food was delicious and a lot of it! We learned more about The Highline, Greenwich Village and the Historical part of NYC by taking this tour than we ever could have on our own. Jake made this experience such a FUN day. Small group of 5 made the day very personal. WE LOVED IT!
Jake our tour guide was awesome! He was so passionate about what he does and took us to the most delicious places. So fun and delicious! You will have a blast!
Excellent experience with a fun tour guide. For me it was too long and thus four stars rather than five.
Tom was a great tour guide! Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Really got our money’s worth with this tour. Food was delicious and abundant.
The tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The food was incredible and plentiful. The details and information provided was so interesting and timely. I have been on many tours but Manhattan Walking Tours are always have the best information and tour guides .
Claire was amazing! So much knowledge and passion was shared about this great city while we walked through some of the lesser-traveled nooks and crannies of NYC. The food was scrumptious too! Would highly recommend this tour to all!
I've lived in Manhattan for over 10 years now, and I decided to learn something new about the city I live in. I went on the Greenwich Village Food and Historical Downtown Tours. I was not disappointed! I enjoyed the selection of food stops in Greenwich Village, and the historical commentary from our excellent tour guide, Nancy!
Jen was a wonderful person & tour guide. She should run for president. She was very knowledgeable and has a fantastic personality. It was one of the best tours that I've been on in a big city.
Billy was GREAT. Very knowledgeable. Probably the best tour guide I have ever had. Food in the village was out of the world Had reservations in Little Italy for dinner. Had to cancel reservations because we were so full. Probably would have been disappointed because of all of the good food on the tour even if we had room for more. Take this tour. You won’t be sorry
Amazing experience! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and engaging. We loved the private small group experience because it is so much more personable and we got to ask many questions. The Food Tour was So Delicious and we were totally satiated for both lunch AND dinner that day. The historical downtown tour was so insightful. Even though I have been coming to NYC since I was a child, we learned about special historical gems on smaller side streets that I have passed up for years. I Totally Recommend this!!!
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely tour of the High Line and Greenwich Village on our first trip to NYC. The food was amazing, the pizza being our favorite! There were just four of us on the tour which was nice as we were able to ask questions and get to know the neighborhoods and history. Our tour guide, Nancy, was a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable. We would definitely use Manhattan Walking Tours again and highly recommend them!!
3 of us took the Greenwich Village Food Tour (with an extended walk through Soho and Chinatown) with our lovely guide called Alex. It was an amazing experience, and luckily the sun had come out just for us. We started with some beautiful merveilleux pastries at Aux Merveilleux , then had the Nonna Pizza at Bleecker St (possibly the best pizza I've ever had), later moved onto Bantam Bagels for a new take on a New York Classic, and finished with a brilliant Vietnamese Banh Mi Biet sandwich at Thai Son. We also drank at The Malthouse and Whisky Tavern - in the latter of which we tried Pickle Backs, where you follow a whisky shot with a pickle juice shot (definitely worth a try). In between all stops Alex taught us loads about the culture and history of the local area, making the trip really interesting - he knew the city like the back of his hand! I would definitely recommend taking a tour with these guys, you won't regret it.
I took my first tour with Manhattan Tours and toured the High Line. It was a great tour, very informational and I learned so much! My guide Tom was very knowledgeable and did the tour with a very casual and comfortable style. The pace was great and the amount of time allotted was just perfect. I would definitely recommend this tour to a New Yorker or a visitor!!
Our guide was Kevin. He is born and raised in Brooklyn . A former history teacher and former police officer, he was a fantastic guide. Pointing out interesting details in architecture, endless stories about the different neighborhoods. I didn't expect to see so much in just a few hours and yet, we were not rushed, the pace was perfect. The food was awesome as well. I doubt you will be hungry. Overall, we were thrilled with our tour. I would definitely go on another tour! Ben
Four of us took the Greenwich Village foodie tour. First off, this is SO much more than a 'food' tour. Kevin was an excellent guide: born and raised in NY (Bronx), ex-cop, ex-high school history teacher, among many other things. Knows the city and it's history (even the esoteric stuff) like the back of his hand, and even took us into the 6th Precinct where he used to work so we could see the small museum there. Food sampling ranged from OK to excellent (really depends upon personal taste, so I'm not going to belabor it. If you like carbs, you'll like the tour :D). The real fun and value of this tour is experiencing the Village/Chelsea with someone who's lived in the city his entire life and LOVES it. Would recommend to any and all.
Whenever I go to NYC I always book a walking tour with Manhattan Walking Tours. The guides are so knowledgeable and friendly. This is one of my favourite tours to do as the highline is beautiful and you get SO much delicious food in the food tour. Loved all of it!
