We had an absolutely great tour. The history we learned. The food. We had a fantastic tour. Would book again. Robin was a fantastic guide
We had a great time on our Hells Kitchen food tour! The guide was great! He made it super interesting and fun. Coming from a small town in the Midwest the food was all new to us, and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. We highly recommend this tour and Jake!
Fun activity if you like sampling different restaurant offerings, learning fun facts and meeting new people. The small group makes the pace and experience very pleasant.
It was a great experience. Our tour guide Robin was great and very knowledgeable. All of the food stops were delicious.
Jake did a great job showing and describing Hell’s Kitchen’s past and present. The restaurants he chose were from “around the world” and all very tasty - all of his favorites. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Manhattan Walking Tour again.
Tour guide Dena was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She provided lots of information and tid bits of knowledge we didn’t know. Variety of food was great, and it was nice learning about food in different cultures. Would definitely recommend this your, and especially with Dena!
My sisters and I spent a fabulous afternoon with Robin of Manhattan Food tours following the route of the Hell's Kitchen tour. The food stops each represented a different culture. They were plentiful and delicious. We had hanger steak at the Japanese BBQ, Puerto Rican/ Indian fusion, Georgian cheesebread and assorted Mediterranean appetizers. The dessert stop was not the last stop, but we didn't eat it and saved it for the end. Along the way we heard the history and stories of Hell's Kitchen - the gangs, the architecture and celebrities that have called Hell's Kitchen home. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a fun afternoon that will include a great lunch (you won't need a big dinner).
A wonderful tour of Hells Kitchen, giving both history of the area and details on the food we were eating. The guide was very knowledgeable and genuinely loved the places we visited. I highly recommend this tour.
A very interesting multi-ethnicity food excursion combined with rich and nuanced information about the local area. Even as a native New Yorker I learned facts I did not previously know. Dave, our guide, was knowledgeable, and took pleasure in introducing us to places and things he enjoyed.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable, fun to chat with, and every food stop was excellent. We did three food tours and this one was definitely the best !
We had a great experience with Hell's Kitchen food tour. Easy to locate met up spot. Robin was ready to show us the local vibe and eats. She provided Interesting histories, neat local stories, pointed out historic buildings, and had some people watching too! We experienced Asian, local cookie treat, Mexican, Georgian, and Mediterranean! I enjoyed them all but Cheeseboat (Georgian) is one of my new favs! Will go back given the chance to tryout Robin's other recommendations on or near Restaurant Row.
Our guide Robin was fantastic who was very knowledgeable and visited delicious venue to experience the food.
Robin our guide was very welcoming and provided fantastic information of Hell's Kitchen. Recommend this tour.
Hells Kitchen is a fascinating NYC neighborhood with an amazing variety of cuisines. Jake, our tour leader, is very knowledgeable and personable. He guided us through the history and the rich sampling of cuisines with great skill. We highly recommend the tour.
We Loved Alex so much !!!! He was so kind and had so many amazing stories !!! 10/10 would recommend. The food was also amazing
Go hungry. It’s a great variety of foods, so give them all a taste, you might be surprised. The guide gives great history of the area, and is very accommodating. Went with a bad back, and she really took care of me. And also, remember to tip, usually $15 - $20 a person is fair.
Alex was great! Very knowledgeable and personable. We would definitely recommend this tour or any other tour led by him.
Highly recommended tour and guide for the stories and getting to know the history of Hell’s Kitchen and NYC. The food sequence and selections could be better. First, when you get you cookie at the second stop - SAVE IT -DONT EAT IT UNTIL THE END. Nonetheless, eating it second did not overwhelm the Taco Majal - delicious. The Georgian cheese boat was interesting but cheesy and SALTY. The last stop was Mediterranean pita, hummus, tzatziki and stuffed grape leaves - would have preferred tasty pastries with an espresso to finish. Despite the need for improvement, Alex saved the tour with his stories.
Excellent tour and guide! Our guide, Alex made this tour top notch! He was so personable and filled with knowledge about the history of Hell's Kitchen...it was so interesting and his anecdotes and trivia on the infamous gangsters of the different time periods were fascinating. Alex brought our tour group of 6 to each restaurant seamlessly with no waiting on tables and our servers being polite and attentive. And the food....delicious! The Japanese BBQ, Indian tiki masala taco, Georgian cheesebread, Mediterranean mezzo, and the Schmackary cookies left us full and happy. A must do experience!
We had a fantastic experience on this small group food tour! All of their tours are small but this one was really small- just three of us! It felt like a private tour which was even better! It took us to five delicious restaurants, each offering amazing bites! It is a lot of food so come hungry! Beyond the food, we loved hearing the stories behind each spot and learning more about the local community—it added so much depth to the experience. Our guide, Dena, was wonderful. She shared so much interesting information along the way and made sure we felt taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore great food and local culture in Hell’s Kitchen!
Alex was a wealth of knowledge with great storytelling skills. My husband and I really enjoyed the tour and the variety of delicious foods.
Alex was a wonderful tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the area. The food was wonderful too. I specially enjoyed the japanese barbeque and the indian style taco. Had a great time on this tour.
My husband and I took Manhattan Walking Tours “Hell’s Kitchen Food Tour” with two friends, and we all had a fantastic time. We ate at five completely unique, absolutely delicious establishments, and we had a truly wonderful guide - Alex. An aspiring actor, he was a GREAT storyteller and shared super entertaining stories about this historic neighborhood, as well as many tales about its fascinating inhabitants over the years. We all agreed that the experience was a true highlight of our NYC visit. We highly recommend it!
Wow! If you want delicious unique food and a fascinating history of Hell’s Kitchen, this is the tour for you! Our guide, Dave, knew everything about everything and even took the time to show us some cool stuff, like the diner where the idea for Seinfeld was born (across the street from where Larry David lived). The food was plentiful, we were stuffed for the day! This tour is a must-do if you really want to explore NYC in a genuine way!
Amazing tour!! Learned so much about the history of Hells Kitchen. Alex was a phenomenal story teller!! He was full of fun facts and ready to answer every question. The group size was perfect. Just the right amount of people to not make it feel crowded or overwhelming. We got to try some DELICIOUS food and even went back the next day to one of the restaurants to try more things. Definitely recommend!
Great time and great food! Really enjoyed the history of Hells Kitchen from our knowledgeable guide. Well worth the cost!
Great history, full potions, nice paced. One of the best I’ve ever been on. It was so much fun and informative.
Alex was a fabulous tour guide. Really interesting stories of the history of Hells Kitchen along with delicious food.
Robin was great. A true story teller that was fun and informative. We had a great time and the food was diverse and delicious. Thanks Robin, you’re a pro. Do this if you get a chance.
Amazing tastings from Japan to Georgia, the Mediterranean. So much delicious FOOD! Don’t miss this food adventure 😎
We toured Hells Kitchen with Alex and had a great afternoon. There was a variety of food along with historical points and history of Hells Kitchen, NY. Highly recommend this experience!
We booked a food/walking tour of the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan as company outing. Our tour guide Robin was punctual, friendly and full of local knowledge! She came prepared with photos of "the old days" and explained the pace of the tour up front so we knew what to expect. The restaurants were prepared for our arrival and highlighted the diverse - and VERY delicious - flavors of the neighborhood. Robin was able to keep a large group engaged and moving on a super hot day. In addition to the history of the neighborhood, Robin, a former entertainment journalist, shared interesting facts about the celebrities who called Hell's Kitchen home. Overall, I recommend Manhattan Walking Tours and especially our tour guide Robin. I'd love to take her other tours - Greenwich Village and Lower East Side.
This NYC food tour is an absolute must-do! Every single bite was amazing, but the best part was our tour guide. She was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and knowledgeable, making the whole experience feel like a fun afternoon stroll with a local friend. Highly recommend!
Alex was a great tour guide and story teller. He gave us a really interesting history of Hell’s Kitchen. The food was enjoyable and filling. Highly recommend.
Alex was very knowledgeable about the history of Hell's Kitchen. He wove a coherent narrative - rich with details! The food spots were unique and very tasty! We highly recommend the tour.
Alex was an amazing tour guide and excellent speaker. He made it very entertaining and you can tell he loves what he does. The food stops were all great and we especially loved the cheeseboat! Would definitely recommend this to all.
Tour Guide Alex was fantastic! We ate delicious food and learned a great deal about Hells Kitchen. I would highly recommend this tour.
Cale was so very entertaining and the insiders knowledge of things (because he actually loves Hells Kitchen and spends his time here) is very fascinating. The food was quite yummy and unique but the stories of Hell's Kitchen were the best part!!!
Excellent tour history and great food. A great way to spend afternoon in nyc. Rain or shine Alex our. guide is the best
We had such a great time on this food tour with Jake! From the second we met him, his energy was absolutely contagious. Imagine if a golden retriever became a Broadway foodie historian 😄 Super friendly and genuinely excited to show everyone around Hell’s Kitchen. The food stops were all really good, and what surprised us most was how much interesting history and Broadway knowledge was mixed into the tour. It never felt like we were just hopping from place to place eating. Jake had tons of fun stories, local insight, and genuinely useful Broadway tips throughout. Our favorite stop was definitely the cheeseboat. We’re still thinking about it. We actually weren’t planning to see any Broadway shows during our NYC trip because ticket prices were looking a little financially disrespectful but thanks to Jake explaining how rush tickets work and sharing some insider advice, we ended up snagging cheap last minute tickets and got to experience a show after all with great seats. Overall, we really had a blast defintiely beyond the usual tourist stuff. Highly recommend!
The tour was enjoyable and the food was delicious. The tour lasted just over 2 hours, which is shorter than most. I've been on a LOT of food tours and they usually last 3-4 hours. That said, there certainly was enough food and the Hell's Kitchen history provided by Robin was quite good (from my uninformed perspective -- I knew nothing about Hell's Kitchen). The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is an odd behavior by Robin. Wine was offered at one of the stops and when I informed her that my husband does not drink, she -- without missing a beat -- said "OK, I'll take his portion!" I figured, oh well, I don't mind her getting to have some wine too. HOWEVER, it turns out she was already receiving a portion of wine. When the server began pouring she immediately extended her glass and said "I'll take his portion!" Obviously, she should have first asked if I wanted the portion. I've never experienced this type of behavior on any of the many food tours (all over the world) that I've enjoyed.
Good mix of international cuisine. The cheese boat was our favorite. Cale also did a great job relaying historical information of the area.
Our guide was fun and knew so much about the history of Hell's Kitchen. That made it really interesting. Plus, the food was excellent and varied.
Great fun day! Cale was the perfect host and guide through the city. took us to some great restaurants and he had a lot of history to tell us about the areas we were in. Enjoyed the day with him.
This was a fun experience and Alex was a great guide. We loved the history and stories, and most of the food was good. There were definitely some vendors that were not as delicious as others and we were a little underwhelmed by some of them. The experience was overall great and worth doing, but the food was not as good as other tours we have done.
Fantastic visit with Alex- learned so much amazing history and great food! When I originally booked this tour I didn’t realize it was so heavy on history, we loved it! Alex was entertaining and so knowledgable. We absolutely loved the food too! I brought my 14 year old and she said it was the highlight of our trip to NYC. Would 100% do it again.
Jake was excellent and the food was delicious!!
We had a great tour with Robin….fun history and delicious nibbles! It was a super introduction to Hell’s Kitchen!
Had a fabulous afternoon touring Hell’s Kitchen with Jake W.! Such a great guide, knowledgeable, entertaining, and so fun! Highly recommend!
