Amazing spiritual experience and musical worship which you are encouraged to take part in as there are tambourines on seats to pick up and join in making music with the gospel singing and brass band. Also given a warm welcome and invited to give my testimony.

Great music and fantastic atmosphere in a charming Harlem chappel that offers good acustic and convenient walkng distance from the underground station on 125° Highly recommended

It's important to know that this is NOT a gospel choir. When we went it was a five piece ensemble. They did two classics ( This Little Light of Mine and Oh Happy Day) and the other songs were slow new original Spirituals. The sound is muddy and there's virtually no lighting so you can't really see their faces. Anyone expecting old fashioned, foot stomping, hand clapping gospel will be disappointed.

It was a Great experience. Being in the church listening to that awesome melodies and watching those incredible musician was unforgetable!! I hardly recomend Harlem Jazz Series.

I love singing, I love gospel and blues music.. and I would have liked to have had the time to follow an entire celebration.. My only issue was that it ended after an hour! Words cannot describe how great this was. A must see! Would definately go again next time in New York!!

The trip to see the Gospel Choir in Harlem was the highlight of our trip to New York! The experience was fabulous from start to finish! The voices of the choir are just WOW!!! We were encouraged to join in with the singing, clapping and dancing and how solid you not… what an atmosphere! The church is located on a beautiful tree lined street and after the singing we were able to walk the street to admire the beautifully decorated Halloween houses!! Do not hesitate to book this experience.

A truly amazing, authentic, vibrant experience. Held in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Harlem, with its beautiful stained glass windows, we were welcomed to join the gospel series concert. The singers were extraordinarily talented and sang with passion. We felt part of a warm, community celebrating life, singing and clapping along with the choir.

It was a very tiny church and only one singer, one pianist, drums and 1 guitar. It was not the experience I thought it would be at all. The people at the church was very friendly.

Absolutely loved it! Great singers, great music, great organ, great church - hard not to get into the spirit, and why not?! Very personable and talented - and their energy --- it would be hard to keep up with them. I will admit that this is my first time in a live Gospel, so maybe I do not recognize the potential differences between different choirs. True, this is not Sister Act, but we all enjoyed it very much. It was a full house when we were there, so might be important to reserve early.

I expected a Gospel Choir experience and that’s exactly what I got. All the singers were powerful, passionate and inspirational. Yes, it was loud but it was fun and interactive as well. Meeting the volunteers there and supporting their little cafe was a privilege. I loved it!

I expected church gospel. What I got was rock concert with drums and ear smashing loud shouting into 7 microphones at once. I had to cover my ears to get trough the performance but I could as well stay outside the church and hear just as well if not better. Long story short, if you value your ears, either bring your own earplugs or avoid this place altogether.

A must-do if you visit NY and want to get a first-hand gospel experience. Everyone was very warm and kind. I´ll definitely repeat it on my next trip to NY.

This is an amazing experience!!! Since the beginning, a kind lady welcomes you and makes you feel at home. The choir’s voices are astonishing. As the concert begins, the singers connect immediately with their audience, inviting us to clap and sing. Definitely, a must when visiting NY!!!

I wouldn’t rush back. Very touristic. Not authentic. The whole thing is a show rather than a true gospel preaching (if you know what I mean). Disappointing.

They made me reserve with a specif pass and once i was there they didn't accept it asking for money. Neither an apologize for their mistake. Not suggested

I arrived at the specified time, but there was no event. Site support informed me that I could come another day or my money could be returned. but my plans and the day were ruined..

The singers were amazing and had a real passion with each song. Very strong and talented voices. They also encouraged the audience to clap and sing with the music.

Can not recommend this concert. The singers were not the best but ok, but the sound was terrible. Very hard sound and too loud. Took all the charm of the music away. The best thing was the pianist he was good, I enjoyed his playing when we were entering the church. I would not recommend this concert.

We had the Anthony Morgan choir. They were incredible and brought so much energy to the room. Don’t hesitate in booking these tickets 🤗

We we’re happy to find out about this opportunity, to watch a gospel choir perform in a small church in Harlem. The program is offered on Saturday, i.e no service, just a full our or high spirit and joy. Great idea! (Not instead of a Sunday service experience but an additional option)

The choir was amazing, crowd involved, cheer and joy and couldn’t stop smiling. We entered the church was directed clearly to seating, there was a little wait as we arrived early but glad we did as it gets very busy. Everyone was lovely great atmosphere. A hand clapping event.

I was looking forward to seeing the gospel, but I was disappointed. I knew it would be a touristy thing; the date and duration (1 hour) were convenient, but it would have been much better to attend a real mass (perhaps, if it was too long, leaving early...). It was truly something solely and exclusively for tourists (the audience was ONLY tourists), and to be honest, I do not know much about music, but the singers were not exceptional in my opinion. I would not do it again.

We received two different addresses for the event, which was quite confusing. Then the event ended up taking place at a completely different location. We were disappointed that there was not a fair with locals, but only a concert for tourists was held. We would have wished to experience something authentic. Unfortunately, the acoustics were not particularly good either. However, the singers did their job well. Overall, I would say that I have attended better gospel concerts.

We had a great time. The troupe was exceptional and passed on beautiful values for just over an hour: love, brotherhood, freedom and joie de vivre. This experience is really dedicated to tourists wishing to live the “Harlem gospel experience”, which is also what we liked because we could hardly attend a full mass with faithful just to satisfy our desire to discover gospel. We might not have felt our place, when we were very comfortable there.

A very different mass, 90% sung by wonderful voices. The day I went there were five people singing and praising God. Punctuality. It is worth watching and experiencing this experience!

We were here for a concert on Christmas Day. We liked it very much, although it was a show rather than a service with gospel music, but we knew that in advance. Great voices and a great atmosphere. Also in advance everyone was very nice and helpful, you could wait early in the basement of the church and in the warmth because of the cold. We will definitely come back again on another New York visit.

I was at this Gospel show with my family on Christmas Eve, very nice, it seems to be really in an American film breathing their traditions. When we arrived there was a nice line but it was flowing, the show started 20 minutes after the scheduled time because they were waiting for everyone to sit down. Recommended.

Five screaming people and two drummers, had nothing to do with gospel. Just stirring up the crowd. The last 20 minutes were just happy day, and the crowd had to scream along. We feel incredibly ripped off. While gospel can be so touching and beautiful, this was only an insult to the gospels

The event was interesting, organized on Saturday for tourists but still valid. I think the organization is done by church volunteers. Recommended.
