My 16 year old son and I took the tour today with Bruce and we loved it! Bruce demonstrated a lot of knowledge of American history, particularly New York history is a very compelling and easy to understand way. He made the tour interactive and funny too! In addition to the buildings and monuments, Bruce had also many pictures, documents and maps that he used throughout the walk that my son and I both really liked also. I really recommend this tour to anyone interested in American history. My son and I both recommend Bruce.

A walking tour with an expert in history is both intellectually stimulating and an ideal way to get some exercise! Bruce makes the time fly by with his story telling, maps, photos and invites questions along the way. I really enjoyed learning the history and fun facts that were shared. The maps and quotes provided bring it all to life even among all that is modern in Manhattan.
My family and I loved this tour! We learned a lot and Bruce was a really engaging guide. He shared a lot of stories that brought the history to life, and also shared a number of quotes/excerpts that contextualized things as well as showed us maps and paintings that made the whole experience really engaging. I love history and have lived in NYC for years and still learned so much on this tour, and Bruce kept it fun in addition to being really interesting.
Very knowledable guide and lot of fun. We will do his other tours. He has a great passion for history and great delivery.
Bruce was an outstanding tour guide! The knowledge, paired with a plethora of visual aids, added to a palpable experience. Highly recommend it if you love life, liberty, honor, and hope.
Absolutely love the Hamilton & Washington Revolutionary New York City Walking Tour with Bruce! He is a wonderful tour guide and a history expert. Highly recommend it!
The guide was very knowledgeable. He the kept participants engaged throughout the 3 hour tour. He asked throughout tour whether there was any questions.
I am local to the NY area and was eager to learn more about the Revolutionary history of NYC. I signed up for this tour focused on Hamilton and Washington, and was blown away by the experience. Bruce was an exceptional guide - passionate, knowledgeable, and kind, with a deep expertise in American History. He patiently brought to life NYC's history in a way that was memorable, engaging, and fun. While I had previously seen many of the sites on my own, this was the first time I had the full story behind every spot that we stopped by. I learned a lot and will definitely be signing up for another tour; I have already shared my experience with friends. I highly recommend this walking tour with Revolutionary Tours NYC!
Our guide was friendly and engaging. He knows his subject!!!!!!
Amazing Experience learning about the history of lower manhattan. Visiting sites like Trinity Church, Bowling Green, and Federal Hall and so many sites educating me about George Washington, Alexander Hamilton. Best Tour I have ever taken
Outstanding itinerary, enthusiasm of presentation, and quality/depth of the material shared. That was an exemplary tour! Bruce Racond is excellent.
Our guide was wonderful and so knowledgeable!
Bruce gives a great overview of the importance of New York City, Hamilton, Washington to the Revolutionary War. This is an easy walking tour that covers a lot of ground in lower Manhattan. Even if the historical structures are not present, you're on site to where historically significant events took place and get a sense for certain strategic places. Bruce has an encyclopedic knowledge of people, places, and dates relevant to the subject matter - all relayed in an entertaining and helpful manner. This tour is good for young and old alike. We had some teens and preteens on our tour and they seemed to enjoy the history and presentation.
I love American history, so my wife bought me tickets for this tour while we were on vacation in NYC. It was an amazing experience. Meeting point was easy to find, and the tour started right no time. Bruce is an exceptional historian and engaging story teller. He really made the history come alive. There are amazing things about NYC that I learned that I had walked past without ever knowing dozens of times. I enjoyed every part of the experience and would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who is interested in the American Revolution and the role that NYC played in that story.
This is an amazing walking tour that can be done in rain or shine. The guide, Bruce, is a magnificent storyteller of the revolutionary period. One of the best tours I have taken in NYC and highly recommend this tour for visitors and seasoned New Yorkers too! You have no idea how much history you just walk by doing your daily. New York stuff! Looking forward to doing another one of his tours in the future.
Our Hamilton and Washington Revolutionary Walking Tour with Bruce was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to New York City. It was raining when our tour began, so rather than rushing us outside, Bruce gathered us under cover and gave a fascinating introduction to pre Revolutionary New York City and the American colonies as a whole. My daughter and I were hooked from that moment. His ability to paint a vivid picture of life before the Revolution made everything we saw afterward so much more meaningful. Bruce is far more than a tour guide. He is a gifted storyteller who has mastered the art of bringing history to life. His passion for America's founding is unmistakable, and his knowledge of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, and Revolutionary New York is truly exceptional. Rather than presenting a string of dates and historical facts, Bruce skillfully weaves together the people, places, pivotal events, historical documents, and timeless quotations into a rich and unforgettable narrative. As you walk the streets of Lower Manhattan, you begin to imagine the conversations, conflicts, and sacrifices that unfolded there, leaving with a deeper appreciation for the remarkable individuals who shaped our nation. As if the experience weren't memorable enough, we happened to take the tour on the anniversary of the day Alexander Hamilton was mortally wounded in his duel with Aaron Burr. Bruce thoughtfully acknowledged the significance of the date. Standing in the city where so much of Hamilton's life unfolded made the day especially poignant. What stayed with me most, however, was the way Bruce concluded the tour. He reminded us of George Washington's words from his First Inaugural Address, describing our republican form of government as an "experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people." It was a fitting conclusion that connected the past to the present with wisdom and humility. If you enjoy American history, appreciate great storytelling, or simply want to experience New York City in a way that goes far beyond the typical tourist attractions, do not miss this tour. My daughter and I have taken several guided tours over the years, and Bruce's ranks among the very best. We will be talking about it for a long time.
Bruce was an outstanding tour guide! Even as someone who lives in the NYC area, I learned so much. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and made Revolutionary-era New York come alive with fascinating stories and historical details. We also really appreciated the book recommendations he sent afterward. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in history or looking for a unique way to experience NYC!
Great and informative tour, the time flew by. Bruce did a great job great stories, great history. Highly recommend!
Bruce was a great guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and made the 3 hour tour very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour!
Bruce Was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgable and very enthusasitc. He really did an excellent job. Greg Mancini
Bruce is an incredibly knowledgeable and deeply passionate New York City tour guide. More than that, he is exceptionally gifted at sharing historical stories about the city, places and spaces that tell the story of our nation. My 11 year old daughter and I took the 3-hour Washington & Hamilton Revolutionary walking tour. We learned so much! We saw so much. When we return to the city, we will go on another one of Bruce's tours - - he made history come alive.
My husband and I were visiting NYC from London. We had a great time learning about early American political history from our very knowledgeable guide. It was raining a bit, but it was just fine. Our guide really brought history to life and we learned a great deal…thanks so much for the badges! Would highly recommend!
Bruce was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. The pace of the tour was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
Great walking tour to learn about Washington and Hamilton and their time in New York. Informative and enjoyable tour with lots of details that we didn’t know. Highly recommend for any history buffs and even children who enjoy learning a piece of American history. My son truly enjoys this walking tour!
Bruce was incredibly knowledgeable and presented the information in an engaging and interesting manner. I think everyone in the group came away knowing a lot more about Washington, Hamilton, and NYC!
Even though the weather wasn’t the best for a walking tour that day, I had my umbrella and a rain jacket, and I LOVED this tour! Bruce was an AMAZING tour guide, and he really brought history alive with his enthusiasm and details on these remarkable people. You come away with a real appreciation on how important NYC events were with the start of the United States as a country, and you just want to study even more after you get home. I loved walking in the footsteps of Alexander Hamilton and George Washington, and I’m grateful I was able to do this. Bruce also generously sent us a follow up email with a list of additional resources, books and movies. Fantastic tour, and I learned so much.

After a lot of research, we chose the Washington & Hamilton walking tour because I’m a big fan of Hamilton (the musical) and was curious how it connects to real history, but I also wanted a tour that went beyond the musical. Bruce absolutely delivered. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about American history (and about making sure every guest on his tour has a great experience). We left having learned so much that was completely new to us, along with a deeper appreciation for the complexity of the Revolutionary era and the real people behind the story; far beyond what you get from the musical alone. Hamilton fans will especially love this tour, particularly the fun Q&A Bruce weaves in throughout. Highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in American history or Hamilton or both! Touring with Bruce is a must do when you’re in the “greatest city in the world.”
Guide was exceptionally knowledgeable – – – however I do not like being required to put 100 characters minimum in this evaluation
I had the pleasure of joining Bruce’s “Hamilton & Washington in New York” tour twice—once on my own and once with friends. As a longtime fan of the musical Hamilton, it was the original reason I chose the tour, but the experience far exceeded my expectations. Each time, I learned new historical insights, and the tour truly opened my eyes to the pivotal role New York City played during the American Revolutionary War. Bruce, a certified tour guide with a degree in American history, brings remarkable depth and energy to the experience, and his passion shines through in his engaging storytelling. His parting remarks even brought tears to my eyes! I highly recommend this tour not only to Hamilton fans, but to anyone interested in learning more about these two founding fathers and New York City’s rich Revolutionary-era history.
My six year old son and I took the Washington and Hamilton tour. Bruce made booking the experience easy and was flexible in regard to time and length of tour. The tour itself was fantastic - Bruce came prepared with materials we could take home to remember what we learned and somehow managed to make the tour engaging both for me and my son. We both learned a lot and had a great time on the tour.
Amazing historical tour of downtown Manhattan. Bruce is an amazing storyteller. He shares his vast knowledge with charm and delight. Highly recommend.
Bruce was amazing!! His knowledge on Washington, Hamilton and the American Revolution was nothing short of amazing! I could listen to him talk about this topic all day!!
Had a great time with Bruce. He really knew his stuff and was very engaging. He was also very accommodating and found places to get us out of the rain. Also appreciated the comfort break and the stickers!
Very informative. We learned a lot!
If you’re interested in tour steeped in American history with insights exceeding a college professor, this is the tour for you. On a day with windchills in single digits, Bruce kept everyone engaged (and warm with some indoor stops). All ages will enjoy and learn! Can’t recommend highly enough. Great communication with and accessibility to Bruce ahead of time for planning purposes. Bruce even advised with best sledding places in Central Park for our family (snowed about a foot in Central Park the day after the tour). When we return to NYC, we’ll 100% take another tour of Bruce’s!
If you think you know George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, take this walking tour and prepare to be joyfully corrected. This American Revolution walking tour through New York City is nothing short of spectacular, and Bruce is the secret weapon that turns history into a living, breathing epic. Questions are welcomed and answered with insight that feels tailored, thoughtful, and endlessly engaging. By the end, you don’t feel like you finished a tour. You feel like you walked out of a particularly great historical novel, except the skyline is real and your feet are tired. This tour is an absolute must for history lovers, Hamilton fans, and anyone who wants to see New York City through the lens of revolution, genius, and grit. Bruce is a phenomenal guide, and this experience is easily one of the most memorable ways to explore NYC.
It was a rainy, and cloudy day. Despite the weather, the guide painted a captivating picture of Washington Hamilton, and of New York City during the revolution. If you’re thinking of going, it doesn’t matter if it’s rain or shine, you’ll thoroughly enjoy yourself.
Excellent tour. We were a family of three with a 9 year old who loved it as much, if not more, than we did. Bruce was outstanding and we hope to take his Central Park tour on our next visit.
Bruce recently led my family on a tour of downtown Manhattan in celebration of my Hamilton-obsessed 11-year-old daughter's birthday. Also in attendance were her 9-year-old sister, parents and grandmother. Bruce seamlessly guided us in a tour that educated my two daughters and provided the adults with additional knowledge. He did a wonderful job of abbreviating an otherwise longer tour to meet the attention span of our children, while making sure to stop at both famous and little-known locations to help us understand what this area of Manhattan both looked like and meant to New Yorkers at the time. He validated all of my children's questions and patiently answered each of them. We look forward to booking another tour with Bruce in the future!
A lot of walking and standing, but very much worth it! Our tour guide was especially clear and knowledgeable- a delight! It was great to learn about, and see actual locations and buildings from the 1776 era.
Our walking tour around lower Manhattan with Bruce was one of our favorite parts of our NYC trip. It was extremely apparent that Bruce really loved the history that he was talking to us about, and that made it all the more enjoyable to listen to. Though there is very, very little still around from the time of the Revolution, Bruce does a wonderful job bringing the history to life with his stories and visual aides he brought along in a binder. I will be excited to do another tour with Bruce when we come back to NYC.
Very interesting tour. Entertaining as well! Our guide Bruce was incredible and we had a great time. We will be taking more tours with him!
We were in NYC to see Hamilton and wanted to center our trip around the history of the city and Alexander Hamilton. And let me tell you - our tour with Bruce was the perfect way to do this!! We are history nerds anyway, but we had SO much fun with Bruce. He is so knowledgeable and his passion for history shines. We learned new things, saw new things, and made memories. Honestly, it was the highlight of our trip. 10/10, hands down!
One of the best and most informative tours I've been on. Our guide, Bruce, was well educated and entertaining. I would recommend to everyone.
Bruce is engaging, enthusiastic, and made history exciting even for those who are not natural history buffs. The pace was good. Would gladly do another tour with him!
Bruce was an incredibly knowledgeable guide. His tour was full of interesting details that brought history alive.
This was our second tour with Bruce and it was even better than the first. Bruce gave us tips on other places to see on our own which greatly enriched our trip, he took us to places that were not on maps or tour guides. He is clearly an historian that is passionate about New York City and its history. He was very knowledgeable about the Revolutionary War, answered all of our questions thoroughly and offered information specific to our interests. The places we went were interesting and we felt like we had a clearer picture of the New York Hamilton and Washington knew and lived in. It was fun being "in the room where it happened" for an afternoon. We didn't want the tour to be over it was so interesting. He followed up after the tour with more information bases on our interests and questions for further research and study on our own.
It was a very interesting tour. We learned a lot, and our guide (Bruce Racond) was an amazing storyteller. It felt as if we were back in the middle of the 18th century :)
Kudos to Bruce our guide. He really made the lives of Washington and Hamilton come to life. He’s a good storyteller and I appreciate his extended knowledge of the battles and their lives. His knowledge went beyond that. His knowledge of the buildings surrounding us and the streets and parks etc.. glad to learn that Andrew Jackson’s $20 bill will be replaced with Harriet Tubman‘s face. Feel like I learned so much! The admission fee was money well spent for sure. Our tour went a bit over the three hours but I viewed that as a plus.
