Fun historical stories and great food! The guide pointed out several famous locations in Greenwich Village along the way. The experience felt like a taste of culture and food.!
We had an incredible food and history tour of Greenwich Village in Manhattan with Robin, and it was THE highlight of our trip! The food was absolutely unbelievable, every stop was delicious and thoughtfully chosen. Robin was truly exceptional. She was so kind, answered every question we had, and had an amazing depth of knowledge about the area and its history. The way she tells stories is completely captivating, whenever she spoke, everyone listened. She brought Greenwich Village to life in such an engaging and memorable way. If you’re considering this tour, definitely book it, and if you can, ask for Robin. Highly recommend!
One of the highlights of our Manhattan trip. Jake, our guide, was great. He shared many interesting and useful tips for Our visit. Pro tip - be sure to book walking tour early in your visit so you have time to put Jake’s recommendations to work.
I went on the Greenwich Village food tour with Cale as my guide right before Christmas this year and had an excellent experience. Cale was extremely knowledgeable on all things NYC, was entertaining and friendly, and provided excellent company for the entirety of the tour! Cale was also quick on his feet as one of the restaurant's ovens went out - he quickly offered a solution that we were all very satisfied with! The food was delicious and my personal favorite was the slice at Bleecker Street Pizza. The variety of food was excellent as well - Indian, Pizza, French Pastries, and cannolis. This tour I would highly recommend for solo travelers, families, or groups!
Great tour - balance of a variety of food (with back stories), history (including A. Hamilton facts), and culture (Friends, Sex In the City, T. Swift, and Jake's celebrity sightings). Jake was a great host.
We did the double tour of the High Line walk followed by the Greenwich Village Food tour. Dave reached out the day prior to make sure we were all set and instructions on where to meet him. We had Dave all to ourselves! From the moment we met until we parted ways, he was so professional and knowledgeable. Let’s start with the walk. What a lovely surprise in the middle of New York. The history is so interesting and the walk is jut lovely. The various architecture and the history behind them is fun. Even with it being so hot, the grounds weee green and beautifully maintained. The walk took us right into Chelsea Market. This was the beginning of the food tour and oh my goodness, what a treat! Let’s say if you have never had a pasties de nata, well, you are in for a treat! I will not give away everywhere we went as you need to take the tour, meet Dave, and get ready for some incredible food experiences! This is a special treat! Put your walking shoes on and get ready for a fabulous day! I hope you get Dave as your guide as we thought he was awesome, thoughtful and so kind!
Fun and delicious! Excellent tour guide, Cale! Friendly, smart and knowledgeable guide! Will request Cale in the future!
Dave did an amazing job with us on the Greenwich food tour. We had a delicious tour and learned so much about the history of NYC. Informative. Engaging, and delicious!
Be prepared for great insight and history of Greenwich area of Manhattan. Cale was our tour guide and did a great job making it intriguing and engaging. Wr had great food as well that is a must to experience.
We had a wonderful food tour of Greenwich Village and the Highline in NYC. Jake was incredibly knowledgeable and had such a way of highlighting interesting historical and current event info along the way. The extent of his knowledge was truly impressive, and he went above and beyond to be helpful in planning the rest of our stay. This company has been a dream to work with, and their customer service and policies make them our preferred food tour company.
Wonderful tour. Claire was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. There was confusion as to our meeting place but she took us to Greenwich Village on the subway and gave us tips for future rides. The food was abundant and delicious. The weather was frigid but she cheerfully Carrie on.
Claire was an amazing guide!! The food was fabulous, and Claire’s knowledge of the city was so interesting and unique. I recommend this tour!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the Greenwich village food tour! Nicky, a native New Yorker, is an engaging and knowledgeable guide. We not only enjoyed great food (including chicken tikka tacos and NY style pizza), but also saw and learned about local historical and pop culture landmarks.
Learning the history of Old New York from a native son was exciting. I am fascinated by New York history and it’s fun to learn about hidden gems that only a local can impart. Dave is knowledgeable and has great people skills. His choice of food stops were excellent too!
We had an absolutely wonderful walking tour experience hosted our tour guide, Claire. Love listening to her historical lecture about Greenwich and Downtown. Claire was very knowledgeable about the history of where we tour. She picked the most amazing eateries for us to sample the goods.
Great type of tour, food and local guide! David is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, who knows history and can guide in a very interesting way.
Hi All I arrived in NY on 11/25 to kick off my first solo trip. I need to give a shout out to Manhattan Walking Tours. I did the triple combo tour of the High Line, Grenich Village and Financial District tour yesterday and today Hells Kitchen, Central Park and Times Square. The guide Claire was so knowledgeable and fun. It was amazing. I’ve learned so much of the history and fun facts that have really provided so much satisfaction to the trip as I was concerned the trip was going to be overwhelming I’m definitely not affiliated with this tour group just hoping this recommendation may help another solo or group travelers 😊
Not any one specific detail Entire afternoon was excellent!! Dave was extremely friendly and knowledgeable
Our guide (Alex) was excellent- very informative about the history of the area and also very friendly. We went to five stops for bites and we liked all except the English Pasty. Like an empanada with super bland potato filling. It was a VERY hot day and a couple of the places had no place to sit. We had to eat the food standing on the hot sidewalk.
Cale was amazing - we spent a really enjoyable few hours with him and enjoyed good food and interesting history - he is a lovely guy - the pizza was the best we had and the tour a great way to experience Greenwich village - would definitely recommend
We enjoyed the food tour. Everything we had during the tour was delicious. We also enjoyed learning some of the history of Greenwich Village and see its more "famous" sites. Alex C. was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable on the area and food choices. Well worth it!
was a great tour with a great tour guide! loved the food and history. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the City.
The tour was amazing for a multitude of reasons, but what made the tour so special was our tour guide Dave Turk. Not only was he very knowledgeable about the historic areas that we visited, but he was also hilarious, friendly and very personable. There was never a dull moment. I had the best pastries, pizza, and tacos. I went on this trip with my young daughter . We had a great experience. I would highly Recommend this tour.
This was a really interesting tour. Jake Wallace was a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. This is a must-do tour in New York.
This was the 3rd tour we have done with this company. Every time our guides have been very knowledgeable and the food has been incredible. On our most recent trip, our guide was Nicky. Nicky is a former 5th grade teacher and was wonderful with our 10 year old! We did the High Line Walking Tour followed by the Greenwich Village Food tour. He kept the tour interesting and engaging for the entire time! Additionally, I have reached out to Alex (who was our guide on our very first tour about 8 years ago) many times over the years for restaurant recommendations when we visit the city. He is always helpful! We highly recommend this tour!
Nicky provided not only delicious food stops, but the history to go along with the neighborhoods. Stops included exterior filming spots for popular shows and several “celebrities” former apartments. There was a little something to keep everyone interested, including my 10 year-old grandson. A fun way to eat and learn at the same time!
Great tour with terrific food stops and a guide, Dave, who was both a foodie and NYC historian. Can highly recommend this tour.
I have been traveling to NYC for over 40 years and I believe that I have done most everything visitors love to do in the city. This May I went with two of my daughters to go to a couple of shows on Broadway. One of my daughters recommended a walking/food tour of the lower West side. To my surprise it was fantastic. David Turk was our guide and he was interesting, informative and fun. We learned history and trivia about Manhattan and stopped and sampled food at 5 uniquely Manhattan eateries. As we walked through neighborhoods, we saw multiple points of interest while learning both historical and contemporary items about the city. The entire experience was one of my favorite things I have done in NYC. Thank you, David Turk, for a most enjoyable time with my daughters and two other visitors from England that were on the walk with us.
We spent 4 stupendous hours with Nicky. First two were a High Line tour with myself and two buddies. Nicky was full of historical information: Pritzker winning architectural gems, NYC historical perspectives, present day management of the High Line, and some arcane stories that only a dedicated tour guide would know. We then joined a lovely couple and their grand child for the Greenwich Village Food tour. No disappointments! We were amazed at the history of the Village (e.g. why are there different size staircases on the town houses??) and were full with NYC pizza, British pasties, French pastries, and a cupcake finale!! Nicky is friendly, full of information, and welcomes questions!!! Highly recommended. You will NOT be disappointed.
Nicky gave a great tour with history and great food! Would recommend time and again. We learned that brown signs meant a historic district and the food also spanned ethnic boundaries
An absolute must tour if you are visiting New York. Our host, Nicky, was so knowledgeable and relaxed on the tour and we learned much about the areas we visited while sampling delicious food (a highlight was visiting with the owner, Greg, of Bleeker Street Pizza who took the time to sit with us and tell us about the history and background of the restaurant. We highly recommend this tour!
Dave was the best! We enjoyed great food from some really fun spots in Greenwich Village while learning fun facts about the history of New York. I would definitely recommend this experience.
Dave was an excellent guide! I would definitely recommend this experience if you want to eat some good food and learn a lot about New York. Great tour!
We did the Highline, Greenwich Village, and Historic Downtown with Jake. We lucked out and it was only my friend and I on the tour so we received a personal tour! Jake was amazing! Very knowledgeable and had a great personality! I would recommend this tour wholeheartedly, mostly because of Jake and his infinite knowledge of the city but also because of all of the out of the way places we visited and the food was incredible(some that I would have never tried on my own)! Thank you Jake for such a wonderful day!
Our tour with Manhattan Food Tours was outstanding! The food was superb and there was a good variety between the dishes we tried. Our guide, Jake, was extremely kind, and very knowledgeable not only about the businesses we visited, but also about the history of Greenwich Village as well. You can tell how much passion he has for the city, and he was more than happy to show us cool nooks of The Village we probably wouldn’t have thought to look for. He was even kind enough to be our photographer for a few photos, and continually checked in with us throughout the tour to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. A very intimate, very delicious tour! We will definitely be booking with this company when we come back to New York.
Alex was a fantastic tour guide. Some great insights into the Greenwich area. Amazing to hear all the history. Great food and especially loved the Bleecker Street Pizza!!
Cale was awesome and the food was great. I really enjoyed our experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for interesting food spots in the city!
We enjoyed the stories and food. I have a teenage girl and boy, Even my teens loved it. Not too long but worth the money. Jake was great!!
We had a wonderful time on our walking food tour. Jonathan was an awesome your guide. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. He spent extra time to show us thing we wanted to see. We had a great time.
Jake was fun and was able to answer all our questions. The history of Greenwich was fun to learn about. I would recommend to everyone. It was the coldest day in NYC in a long time and we still had a blast. That pizza and taco were delightful!!
First time to Greenwich village despite many times in NYC, charming village, great guide! Foueth to 14th street in less than a block and the last gas station available!
Our tour guide Jonathan far exceeded our expectations in terms of history, unique food stops, and sharing NYC stories. We'll definitely book another tour with Manhattan Food Tours! Be sure to ask for Jonathan, too!
Excellent historical information of the area. Fantastic trip! Guide was knowledgeable and ver attentive. Guide answered ever question without hesitation. I would recommend Nicky as a guide to anyone wanting to enjoy their New York City trip.
Not only was the food delicious and diverse, our tour guide, Jonathan, was a great ambassador of New York’s and specifically Greenwich Village’s history. Highly recommend this experience.
What a treat! Our fabulous tour guide, Tim, took us to try amazing foodie places all around Greenwich Village. We were spoiled because we benefitted from a private tour for my daughter's birthday trip to New York. Everything was spectacular and we received all kinds of brilliant information about the food, the area, and the architecture. I would love to do this tour again as a whole family next time we visit!
Our guide, Cale, was fantastic! He didn’t cut it short, even though we walked all over in the rain. His facts were interesting, and his knowledge was impressive. The food was delicious! And he helped us with our subway issues!
Claire was a great guide. We enjoyed learning the history of Greenwich village. The food was delicious especially the pizza and the taco.
I have been on several walking and food tours and my tour with Jake Wallace with manhattan walking tour was brilliant. It was the right mix of history, food, local stories of the people of Greenwich and engaging story telling. Jake was a wonderful and informed host and he knows Greenwich very well. I greatly enjoyed my afternoon in Greenwich with Jake and highly recommend taking this tour.
I loved learning about the history of the area. It was very interesting to learn about civil rights and how Hollywood people helped the movement
