We went on Christmas Day evening. It was super crowded, nobody's fault but it was difficult to stay with the group leader and not get lost. Houses were cool. Could have done a shorter tour. The stop on the way home was nice to take a picture with the city skyline. Our guide did a good job just so crowded.

You may even meet some homeowners who are a proud part of this festive holiday.

Our tour guide was fantastic on the way there and back he talked about the history of NYci ty and the buildings passed I would give him 110 out of 100
Daniel and Adell did a great job. So fun. The tour was well thought out and very exciting. The tour is 3 hours long while walking through the neighborhoods and then the Brooklyn bridge. Highly recommend
All in all, the tour was excellent! Camilla was great! I would recommend deleting the Bay Ridge part of the tour and reducing the tour maybe to 3.0-3.5 hours. We enjoyed the stop at "DUMBO". One recommendation...Camilla used music to alert her tourists of her whereabouts. It's a wonderful idea, except some of the Dyker Heights homes had music blasting at their homes, drowning out Camilla's music. She uses "What's App" if any tourists lost her temporarily, another great idea -- we used it at least once. (I'm not sure if there was a 5:00pm tour option; if not, it wouldn't be a bad idea to offer this as an additional time option.) Also, Johnny (the tour bus driver), was wonderful!
As a native New Yorker, this was one of my first NYC tours with a tour guide, and Steve exceeded expectations. He was very knowledgeable about NYC and made the tour very engaging. He took us to all the right spots, both secluded and crowded, to see all the best Christmas lights. Very happy with the experience and it was a major perk to have a bus with big windows and a bathroom.
Daniel our guide was very good and so was our driver Peter. Daniel set a nice pace to follow when we were on foot through the neighborhoods. Bus broke down but they put us on another in a timely manner. Loved that Daniel held up a lighted wand so we could see him easily as we walked behind. The house decorations were amazing! Great tour.
Danny was our tour guide through Dyker Heights Christmas City Lights. I have been wanting to do this for years, and this was the year the only way to appreciate NYC on in Christmas is at night and from the bridges. It was more than my expectations so as far as im concerned during Christmas you have to book one of these tours and get the heck out of the city.
The bus ride was very hot. We did not spend as much time at each location as promised and there was no visit to Bryant Park
We loved our tour guide, Camilla. She was fun and shared a lot of fun information about the city and history of Dyker Christmas lights. The lights were beautiful.
Excellent guide and bus driver. Lights were a little disappointing but the service excellent!! Brandon was the driver and Camilla was the guide.
The sight seeing trip to Dyker Heights was wonderful. I enjoyed seeing the houses in the neighborhood lit up with various colored lights and themes. It was a great excursion from the city.
Loved this tour.... wow, it was an amazing experience and loved every minute of it. Wish we could have gotten longer to look round more houses as there are so many! One of my favourite things i did. Daniel was our guide and what a fabulous guy! Friendly, funny, easy to chat to on the bus, got us in the festive mood with Christmas songs. Adele was our driver and he was great too!
Camilla and Johnny did an incredible job with our tour, and we really enjoyed the extra stops for photos. Camilla definitely set the tone for a fun tour of the lights - we had a blast! Would definitely recommend.
It more than the spectacular lights and mansions of Dyker Heights, but a city tour as our guide gave a narration of the sights we passed on the way there and back. It was snowing which added to festive atmosphere!
I loved the experience, I rated 4 out of 5 because we were not made aware that you should probably bring cash to get food from the outside vendors. I also feel like there should be an area or a block just for food purchases.
It was such a great experience! We loved every bit of it. Daniel, our tour guide was amazing! He gave us all his number in case we got lost. Our tour made a stop at the Brooklyn bridge park for picture before we headed home and it was so beautiful!!! Perfect ending to the night. Driver was safe, especially driving in the snow. It was overall one of our favorite things we did in New York! Highly recommend.
Everything that could be controlled was taken care of on this great experience. They were prepared for the huge crowds to allow us to see the decorations and not lose anyone!
Our tour guide was amazing! The tour was very well organized and despite the crowds, he guided us right on through. So glad we booked!
Gorgeous lights. Great bus ride to get there. Were given plenty of time to walk the neighborhoods and take pictures. Then quick stop for the Brooklyn Bridge.
Wonderful tour of the lights and a real bonus to stop and view the Brooklyn bridge. Crystal clear night so we had a spectacular view! Our guide, Eduardo, was very good and knowledgeable. Beautiful lights!
Overall good experience. Visiting the Brooklyn bridge was better in my opinion than the tour through Dyker Heights but our tour guide Ed was great!
During this excursion, my husband and I saw beautiful holiday light displays and got in a nice walk (thank goodness the weather worked in our favor. It was crowded but, our tour guide, Camila, played music by speaker so we always knew how to locate her ! A great benefit of this tour was that we also learned so much about NY, Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Bridge. She gave us so much history. We stopped and got great views under the bridge; photo ops too. Johnny was a great driver !
The most amazing magical festive trip! Our guide Eduardo was brilliant . I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone. Well worth the money !
Eddie the guide and Johnny the driver were fabulous! Very informative, and they gave us time for pictures, hot chocolate, and a special stop for photos of the Brooklyn Bridge which was a surprise and our highlight! Definitely a must do and worth every penny!
Our guide Camila made our experience a truly memorable one. She was so full of joy and happiness, and her rendition of New York, New York while at DUMBO the highlight of the night. Oh and the time spent walking around the lights was lovely too.
The trip itself was amazing! The lights were awesome to see and the tour guide was very helpful. HOWEVER when you get off the bus in Dyker Heights DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM the first stand as they charged us $16 for ONE HOT CHOCOLATE AND WATER. Wait till you get a little further down. Another person in my group was charged $98 for 3 items so please be careful.
Camilla made the tour so much fun with music and her great personality. She made sure everyone stayed together and was so knowledgeable. Recommend fully!!!
Both our driver and guide, Camila, were great. Her use of music to keep the group together is both logical and fun. She was also very informative about the city as we drove
Amazing, beautiful tour was worth the price, beautiful neighborhood. Highly recommended for the holiday things to do
Steve clopper and Victor were Excellent. Steve very attentive and knowledgeable. I will recommend to others. Victor is a great driver
The tour guide was very knowledgeable, the bus was comfortable and some of the lights were beautiful but we had a short visit to NYC and using 4 hours of it for this tour was not worth it. There were numerous homes with little to no lights at all so that was surprising and disappointing since Dyker Heights is such a large tourist draw. This would possibly be something I would do on our own via taking the subway if we were there for 3 days+ but honestly maybe not and just go look at all of the incredible Christmas trees, stores and window displays decorated throughout NYC.
It was very windy but such a wonderful time! We truly enjoyed the lights and our guide! Of course, make sure you dress for the weather- theres a good bit of walking involved.
Steve was very knowledgeable and was successful in keeping the tour organized and enjoyable at the same time! I will suggest this tour to friends and family when they visit NYC.
Dear Tour America / TripAdvisor Support, I am writing regarding our booking VIA-77909681, scheduled for 6:00 PM. We arrived at the meeting point at 6:00 PM, the exact scheduled departure time. Unfortunately, the bus had already departed when we arrived. We are aware that passengers were requested to arrive 15 minutes early. However, at no point was it communicated that the bus could depart before the advertised 6:00 PM departure time. The delay was entirely beyond our control. The New York subway was extremely crowded, and we were unable to board the first train. Additionally, the service was delayed. Under normal conditions, the journey would have taken approximately 30 minutes. To avoid any risk of being late, we left one full hour earlier than necessary. We also had another scheduled program earlier that day, which is why we intentionally selected the 6:00 PM departure. As the bus departed before the scheduled time, we were unable to participate in the tour despite making every reasonable effort to arrive on time. The ticket price was high, and we did not receive the service we paid for. Unfortunately, rescheduling is not an option, as we are leaving the country. Given these circumstances, we kindly request a refund or a partial refund. Thank you for your understanding and assistance. We look forward to your response.
Great tour. Got to see and learn lots about lower Manhattan as well as visiting the amazing Christmas lights on the houses and the bridge. Very cold so hand warmers, thermals and hats a must. Warm drinks and snacks for sale at the houses so take some dollars too.
We enjoyed being taken to Dyker Heights and shown around only down side was Didn’t Allow time to get refreshments on the tour in Dyker heights neighborhood
Well organised & the guide Steve was informative. He was caring of his guests! Driver was friendly & always pleasant. Definitely an experience worth doing during the Christmas season.
Look for Steve Clopper for a tour guide in New York City. He is very well spoken, loves his job and cares about everyone’s safety while exploring the city on foot!
Steve, our tour guide did a great job. He knew the best streets and did a great job giving advice on getting the best pictures. Pete, our bus driver, too!
Albert was great. I learned so much about the city. It was well worth the money considering how much an uber or taxi would cost. Absolutely loved the stop at the Brooklyn bridge, wish it was longer but it was bitter cold. Really cool lights in Dyker heights.
I have somewhat complex thoughts about this tour. I’m happy we did it as we got to see some really impressive areas we wouldn’t have otherwise experienced, but there were parts that made the tour a little less enjoyable for the amount we paid for it. We were told many times to “try to stick together” and keep our eyes on the Santa (a toy/decorative lit up Santa on a racket the tour guide would hold up for us to see), but this was almost impossible to do. The Dyker Heights area specifically was incredibly busy, and despite listening very carefully to directions and trying my best to keep track of the host, we lost her many times. She often would get what we could find of the group together and show us where to cross the street, and then would tell us to keep going while walking back to another area. I felt like I couldn’t stop to take as many photos as I wanted or purchase any of the snacks/hot chocolate from the houses she suggested beforehand as I was afraid we’d get lost from the group. There were many times we’d get to a street intersection m and look around for the guide, and couldn’t find her at all. There were lots of, “now where do we go?” questions from many of the people attending the tour. By the end, we were with a few people from our group, but definitely not the host. She told us where the meeting point would be in case we got separated, and I’m very happy I put that in my phone or otherwise would’ve been lost. She played Christmas music on the bus on the way back, and the speaker system was so loud right next to us; she then started singing along to the music with the mic, and it was even louder. I promise I’m a fairly flexible, laid back kind of person, but these things made the experience not as enjoyable. The driver, Johnny, was excellent, and I felt very safe in his care. So, again, I’m still happy I did the tour. If you’re okay with some disorganization and just want a ride around to see some cool lights, then this will be just fine. The places we went were really great, and I highly recommend doing some sort of tour to see these amazing displays. But, if you’re at all Type A, this specific tour may be a little frustrating for you.
This was a very good excursion. Our guide Alan was very informative about the history of the area and the history of the lights. All in all a very well run excursion. Would recommend.
Overall, the tour was good. Our transport and our tour guide were outstanding. Was underwhelmed by Dyker Heights. The photos you see of the over the top decorations consist of maybe 4 houses. Many more houses are festive and decorated with beautiful light displays but I probably wouldn’t pay to go on a tour to see them again.
It was a cold snowy night. Dress appropriately. Our tour guide Mo was delightful, very attentive to our needs, knowledgeable, kind soul.
This trip was well worth the price. Daniel was very nice and knowledgable. He was very good about keeping the group together while also not rushing the.slower people He gas us his cell number in case anyone did get separated Ivan was a very capable driver. Very safe
Everything was smooth and efficient! Enough time to walk around the 3 stops and easy to follow and entertaining tour guide (Lou Lou) and kind driver (Johnny). Hot chocolate and snacks are available for purchase near some of the houses (usually the owners selling) but make sure you keep track of where tour guide is as there are many tours happening (ours was holding a light up Santa to track!). Took about 3 1/2 hours and meeting and drop off places were easy and convenient. Good opportunity to see outside of Manhattan and some new sights!
One of the BEST & MEMORABLE experiences ever!!! Great tour guide and bus driver. Everyone should take this tour. Worth the $ for sure. So much fun!
Ed was a really good guide. Made the trip much more enjoyable. He was so knowledgeable in the history of all things Dyker Heights and NYC in general.
It's a lot of walking on slightly inclined roads. We had 3 in our party with mild handicapscwith knees and it was hard to finish but everyone pushed through. There are no benches to rest on. Very crowded. The pick up point was in a high traffic area so we spent a lot of time jammed up in the starting point. The houses were amazing. So, if you love Christmas it's a must do but consider the walking for long periods on terrain that may cause falls.
It was fantastic. My friend from Calif loved it. Daniel was a great tour guide. Very worthwhile trip, would highly recommend.
