High-quality modern museum displaying uses for glass going back 3,500 years. Fascinating glass-blowing demo and flame work demo. Gives a new appreciation for something we take for granted. Could easily spend half a day here. Staff were all super-friendly. Great for all ages. Free parking located a block away. Well worth the visit!

Viator provided an easy, online process to purchase tickets for the Corning Mueum of Glass, prior to our visit there.
Never realized how many things are made of glass. Never knew anything about people working on improving safety with glass materials. Really beautiful glass works examples everywhere. It's actually in two buildings and you can get lost but end up back where you started. Recommend the cafe food choices, very knowledgeable staff of gluten free choices. Allot some money for souvenirs. Lots to see and learn.
Check in was easy and quick. The museum was completely amazing. Take your time to wander through all the exhibits. Totally worth the visit.
The museum was a real good experience. Very informative explanations for each exhibit.
This museum is huge with so much to see. I could have spent my whole day wandering around experiencing all there was to see.
Cafe nice and clean. Good food. Loved the fall items in shop. Found some Halloween type corning ware I liked.
Iconic museum with an exceptional display of glass spanning decades. The hot glass demo with master glassmakers held in the Amphitheater is a must. Thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at the museum. *On a side note, the cafe has delicious and well priced selections and the gift shop is a great way to purchase a souvenir.
The Corning Glass Museum is incredible. The Museum has a huge collection of glass from all over the world and throughout time. The sheer beauty of some of the pieces is astounding. The interactive areas of the museum interest people of all ages. There are also demonstrations of glass blowing and formation. Visitors can also take classes in various elements of glass making. To fully appreciate this museum takes some time so plan on a few hours.
What a great learning experience. The artwork was magnificent, and the collection was preserved and showcased in style. Cafe prices were too high for our liking but a good option for a day-log outing. The glass hands-on experience was pretty cool.
Allow for 3-4hours to see everything. The museum has some very cool exhibits. There is the scientific side with some cool, interactive exhibits. And there is the history of glass section with some incredible historic pieces. But for me, the live active glassblowing exhibits were amazing and answered some questions about how they make that. There is also a studio where you can make your own glass. If you do that, keep in mind it takes a day for the glass to cool, so you will either have to go back or have it shipped.
An amazing experience blowing glass and seen Glass from all different parts of the world and all different timelines from A.D. to BC. There were great examples of beautiful
Please stop sending me things about Corning Ny, thanks
Nicely done. Interactive glass blowing studio a really nice asset and fun. Suggest signing up for your individual experience. Museum thoughtfully laid out and with the addition of Demos makes it exceptional.
My 3rd trip here and it never disappoints. I've now been through the entire museum twice. It's truly Unbelievable what can be created with glass! The gift shop is a must see even if you don't purchase anything
Lots to see and do, very interesting. Also made a bead necklace. Fun experience, and artists are very nice.
Great little museum. The all white section was a little blinding to be honest. Thats might be a me problem, but both my wife and I found that part to be a bit disorienting. Otherwise place was clean, interesting and the live demos were cool. I think we enjoyed the shop area the most. Would recommend for sure
Making your own “glass” souvenir. Plan yo stay all day. Ticket good for 2 days… enough to see. There are demonstrations, glass collections dating back to 500 BC… incredible. The Welcome center was not “manned” and a distance from the actual msrum. There is a shuttle. .
Definitely a must see if you are in the area. The museum is very big with lots of exhibits. I really enjoyed the demonstrations. Make reservations early for special events (glass etching or blowing).
See all the demonstrations- very well done and such fun! The program was very detailed and easy to follow. All the pieces were easy to view and read throughout the museum. Gift shop was extensive and there’s something for everyone. I love that we could purchase items by one of our demonstrators. Cafe was terrific and had lots of choices for whatever time you would be there
I've been to this museum several times since moving not too far away in Upstate New York. It is always a hit with out-of-town visitors. But this time my husband and I were on our own. We came specifically to see the unique "Tough Stuff" exhibit, women glass artists. It was exceptional. I really appreciated not only the art but hearing the recorded voices of the women artists and reading their stories on the displays. Of course, we also toured the permanent collection and visited some of the interactive workshops. This museum is truly a gem worth visiting. It is a large museum with lots of parking. A shuttle bus will drive you from the parking area to the museum - and included on the return trip is a drive through downtown Corning's Gaffer District. The bus pass by the Rockwell Museum and they offer a joint ticket for both museums. We didn't do that this time but have in the past. They offer several ticket discount categories so be sure to check out the web site to see details. They also have charging stations throughout the museum for your mobile devices.
Allott plenty of time to see everything. 2-3 hours. Take the shuttle bus. Excellent drivers and easy. Sandblasting your own personalize glass A Must. Plenty of $$ for the unique gift shop items!!
Get there early so much to see take ti.e to watch demonstrations. Lots of walking wear comfortable shoes
Our family enjoyed this especially one of our adult kids being an artist. Many exhibits to look at, some to interact with. We did not do any of the shows. We would be willing to go back as exhibits change.
Great Museum Experience The Corning Museum of Glass is absolutely worth visiting! The museum is beautifully designed, with an impressive collection of glass art from different periods and cultures. The live glassmaking demonstrations were especially fascinating and gave us a chance to see the craftsmanship up close. The exhibits are well organized, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was both educational and enjoyable. Highly recommend it for families, couples, and anyone interested in art, history, or unique experiences!
If you have an artistic eye I’m sure you’ll appreciate it more than I did. I enjoyed the science/educational part if it. The glass blowing demos were good. Definitely some talented, knowledgeable employees there.
Great museum. Plan for at least a half day to see the demonstrations.
Extensive variety of glasswork & interesting glass-forming demonstrations
Spectacular! If you think this museum is full of pretty glass objects, you're right.....but it's much more than that. There are samples of historic glass from the Pharaohs on, it describes the discovery of fiber optic glass, several stages demonstrate glass blowing and you can even do one of your own! Fascinating place where you can spend a few hours or days. Prepare to be wowed.
Corning's live demonstrations re glass makimg are fantastic, making this much more interesting than typical museums w still exhibits. Highlight of my trip was the "Make Your Own Glass". Glass-maker Em Sexsmith was a great communicator and super cool in answering my questions. She and the beautuful vase we created made the added cost of the Enhanced Glassblowing well worth it!
So much to see so plan for longer than 1-2 hours. Go to the studio and take advantage of making a special souvenir of your time at the museum. Amazing experience and place.
Awesome! The next time we will doing the tour. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this trip for sure.
As someone who has done stained glass for 45yrs, the glass museum was a no brainer. The museum was great! But the BEST part was the glass fusing class I took. Shout out to LUCAS! He was SO helpful and knowledgeable. I made a picture frame for my friend's bday, it said "Laurie" on it. It came out great! The prices are reasonable, there are lots of interactive stations. Fun for all!!
We were amazed at the size of the museum and the amount of glass displayed. I would highly recommend this experience to everyone!
Be prepared to enjoy yourself. Just so you know--if you are shopping for a particular item made at Corning not everything is made there. There is a variety of options for gift shopping
The Corning Museum of Glass was amazing. Many different areas from the history of glass through modern glass art. It takes 2 days to see everything. The tickets are good for 2 days. Unfortunately we were unable to go the first day of the booking and could not pull up the code for the tickets the 2nd day. We ended up paying twice.
Plan 3-4 hours as it is a large museum with several live demonstrations going on during the day. Complete your visit with a make your own glass class experience—book in advance if possible as they do sell out. Pairs nicely with a Watkins Glen day. Busy on a Friday in July.
What a great museum! It exceeded our expectations. The artistry of the glassmakers is world class. The 35 centuries of Glass Exhibit is phenomenal. Beautiful, clean, well-organized building.
Steep admission, I thought. But, I guess costs are climbing everywhere! We spent a good three hours when we had thought that this would be a two-hour visit. Actually ran out of time as our itinerary only allowed for us to stay to noon. Fascinating historical displays of ancient glass through to today. The modern gallery (where we, and most others start a visit) was okay -- if you like that sort of thing. And I can't stay I didn't find some of it interesting. Never felt crowded. Demonstrations were well done. Good for families with primary school-aged kids (perhaps teens who are keen on science and engineering). We went as an older couple and found it engaging. Shop was huge for a museum, but then a section is really a Corning outlet!
This museum is very interesting, and the glass art beautiful.
Plan on spending an entire day at the museum. There is quite a lot to see and do, and you will find it to be fascinating and educational.
Really unique museum with lots to see and do. Beautiful exhibits that are really eye-catching (even for younger kids, it was mind-blowing to realize everything was made out of GLASS!). I recommend starting the trip by signing up for a morning workshop before going through the museum because the hands-on experience gives you a different perspective when viewing glass works of art. We booked the workshops online the day before to get the time slot we wanted (may want book earlier if you are going on a weekend.) They will ship what you make to your house (for a additional fee.) The demos (check out glass-breaking!) are interesting to watch and the exhibits range from art history to chemistry, science, and modern technology and advancements. Huge giftshop and decent food court with more than your typical selection of fast food. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and spent about 4 hours there (including the workshop.) If you want to make it a day trip you can head into the Gaffer District for shopping and food.
I had not been since I was a kid. There was a lot more this time and the art was truly beautiful! My husband walks with a cane and has some trouble getting around. Because we were there on a weekday the spaces were less packed but the facility itself is laid out wonderfully and gave him lots of easy access to resting places and the whole expedience was relaxed and unhurried.
The glass museum is located in a valley just off the highway and the campus consists of several buildings. It is the second building where the museum is actually located. There are thousands of exhibits that are amazing and enchanting. Although admission is steep, it is worth to visit the unique place. We saw many tour buses there with international tourists. Spend couple of hours there.
Don't confuse the Corning Museum of Glass with the place where CorningWare was made—they're not the same! This museum is absolutely fascinating and celebrates the art, science, and innovation of glass. From live glassblowing demonstrations to immersive experiences, you're surrounded by everything glass. The exhibitions are incredible, but my favorite was Innovations—it showcases the remarkable creativity and technological breakthroughs that glass has made possible. Whether you love art, history, or science, this museum is well worth the visit.
Located in downtown Corning just off I-86. Large, free parking lot with free shuttle to museum. The museum is only 2 blocks from the parking lot so probably faster to walk unless you have mobility issues. Admission is $25 for adults, $22 for age 62 and up and 17 and under are free. Admission good for 2 consecutive days. There are guided tours available but we did not do this so we cannot review. You will get a map and a listing of show times and their locations. Most shows are included in admission except the build your own glass workshop. If you get lost or have questions there are guides everywhere that can help you. Bathrooms are convenient throughout the museum. We did 4 shows and they were all excellent. There are 2 glass blowing shows where craftsmen make intricate glass pieces while an annoucer explains the process. There us a glass breaking demonstration which explains a lot about the physical properties if glass. This show is popular with kids as they ask for a youngster from the audience to help with the show. There is also a flame working glass demo where the artist will make a piece based on an audience members drawing. Most shows last about 30 minutes. Try to be at any show at least 10 minutes early so you get a seat, there are tv monitors at the shows that let you a have a good view even from the back row. There are also several galleries including modern art, which was interesting and baffling and the history of glass which tells the story of glass from ancient Egypt to modern times. Both galleries are huge and you can spend hours in each and it can be information overload. There are a couple smaller galleties that have rotating collections. There is a small cafe which we did not visit so we cannot review. There is a large gift shop which has everything from expensive original glass art to souveniers and cookware. Overall this is a fascinating museum and we spent all day here, plan on minimum 5 or 6 hours if you want to see all the shows and have time for the galleries. I would say this is best for kids 10 and up, young kids will be bored. We stayed at the Staybridge suites which is right next door and super convenient to get to museum.
It was not only beautiful to see, but immersive and fascinating to learn all the little known facts and history about glass and its place in our lives
The pre-purchased TripAdvisor ticket never arrived at Corning Glass Museum, they had no record of me. Thank God I took a picture of the reservation on my phone, and eventually they felt sorry for me and let me in.
What a great spot! So many interesting demonstrations! The tickets are good for two consecutive days which I would recommend if you can do it. We spent about 3 hours for each visit. The 35 centuries of glass exhibits was fascinating! Nice cafeteria and the gift shop is huge!
You can park in the main lot and take the free shuttle around and to the museum. Entrance was $22 for Srs (I believe). There were many interesting displays. We went on a rainey day. It was better than I was expecting. The place is quite big. There is a large souvenir shop and a Cafe. They also do demonstrations.
