John gave us a great, and knowledgeable tour of Brooklyn! We all enjoyed the day! Would highly recommend to others and we may be back to do one of his other tours soon.

Jeff our guide was great, made the trip educational and entertaining. Plus there are not great ascents and stopped for a coffee break (or lunch ) if wanted. Overall definitely recommend.
Jeff was a wonderful tour guide and wanted to make sure we all enjoyed ourselves. Being in a small group was especially nice! The bike ride, however, is not for those who are faint of heart. You are biking in a city. Bike ride went longer than scheduled, but Jeff made sure this was fine with everybody. Very generous of him with his time!
Our tour guide Jeff was great. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Jeff constantly checked in the the group to make sure pacing was okay and to see if anyone needed to stop for anything. Jeff adjusted routes and stops based on feedback from the group. We even went a bit longer than scheduled as there was no afternoon tour that day. I really felt I got to see about half a dozen neighborhoods in the west side of Brooklyn. I would estimate the total tour was about 15km with some slight inclines. I wouldn't say it was particularly strenuous though. I would recommend if you want to see alot of Brooklyn in a short time frame.
An amazing bike tour customized by John to fit the guest. With a combination of Marylanders and Brazilians. With a combination of bike and margarita/distillery/miscellaneous stops, the bike tour was exactly what we wanted. The bikes were Cannondale and in great condition as well. John is super knowledgeable about Brooklyn and it’s many advantages. We definitely went to places we would not have found otherwise.
What a fabulous experience! Jeff, our guide, was hospitable, knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. We biked about 14 miles and saw MUCH more of Brooklyn than we could've on our own. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our afternoon with Paul. He is quite knowledgeable and a great conversationalist. This is a great deal!
We had a fabulous tour with Jeff. My friend and I loved cycling round Brooklyn and Jeff was very knowledgeable about the area. My friend had a close encounter with a car mirror (all ok) it was the trucks fault, honestly.... Thanks Jeff for making our day. A side note if you are thinking of doing this tour, the address is easy enough to find but because the bikes are stored in a lock up on a small industrial type estate, we found it most confusing as there was no signage at all for Giro Bicycles or indeed a note such as mine explaining in a little bit more detail - it would be helpful to future customers if the owner addressed this.
Had a great bicycle tour with Jesse. She was very informative and accommodating. The tour was a great combination of exercise and sightseeing.
Jeff led us on a fantastic adventure in Brooklyn! This was a fantastic way to spend our day - we hit so many neighborhoods, and Jeff knew the best ways to make the most of our time. So much to discover in Brooklyn, and each neighborhood had its own unique charm. Thank you to Jeff for a wonderful experience!
Great weather. Guide was nice. Very thorough tour. There were so many parts of Brooklyn that I didn’t know about. I learned a lot. Brooklyn is absolutely gorgeous!
Awesome bike ride with John and Sebastian. It was great to see everything that “began in Brooklyn”. 😆
Jess was a wonderful tour guide. The route was full of great sites and her knowledge of the history of the area was fabulous.
We had an awesome day for the bike tour. Very personalized experience. Would just highly recommend upgrading the seats to a saddle.. The road bikes were nice, just the seats were a challenge.
We had a great time with our guide Ben. He took us on a 4-hour biketour through Brooklyn. He showed us some must-see places and told us interesting facts about the different spots. I definitely recommend this tour. If Ben is your guide, you’re good.
Our guide was phenomenal! He knows more about Brooklyn, than the natives! He was very conscientious to keep us all safe, calm and stress free! We would not hesitate to use Frank V. again!
If you’re tired of walking and want to see most of the Brooklyn area this is a great way to do so. Even still, the tour was 4 hours and could have been 4 more. John was a great tour guide and Brooklyn native. You do ride in the streets close to cars - but there are bike lanes on a lot of the streets. And they do offer helmets ( which I recommend!) Stopped at a cool brewery on the water that had great views of the Statue of Liberty. I definitely recommend this tour!
We had the best time with Frank, cycling through Brooklyn. He was able to answer all our questions and it was accustomed to our needs, as due to bad weather, my partner and I ended up with a "private tour". Best pizza in town, stunning anecdotes about history and architectural spots were all in for us. The hours just flew by and we had such a blast, that not even the heavy rain in the end was able to kill our good vibes that day. Thanks so much for the great tour, we will absolutely make sure to book the Manhattan tour as well next time around!
While our tour guide John was excellent and the tour itself was lots of fun, Viator was terrible! On our electronic ticket, under “Location” there was no address other than “Brooklyn NY,” and when you clicked on that, you got a GPS map that did NOT take you anywhere near the starting location for the tour. I emailed and text-messaged Viator and got no response. My recommendation is to avoid using Viator and go directly to the tour operator’s site. John at Brooklyn Giro Bike Tours was very patient. He and the rest of the group waited for us to arrive 15 minutes late because Viator had provided us with such vague and useless directions. Once I reached John on the phone, he stayed on the line with us and gave us correct navigation. I highly recommend John and his tour company, but I will not go through Viator again!
Pluses Frank a great guide delivering the right amount of historical perspective mixed with contemporary information and anecdotes, the best tour guide I have had ever The tour touching covering the most relevant places in Brooklyn The pace, leisurely without ever becoming boring The bicycle that fitted and worked perfectly The routes and bicycle paths chosen always very safe Minuses None I can think of except for the location a bit far (20 minutes) by foot from any subway station
Frank was a terrific guide - provided the perfect mix between history, current events and celebrity gossip. Went all over Brooklyn. What a fun afternoon!
Absolutely incredible tour! Our guide, Frank, really took the time to customize the ride to fit what we wanted to see most. I've been on tours from other companies that sounded scripted or robotic and this was certainly not the case. We learned a lot and covered so much ground. Our tour happened to line up with a heat wave, but Frank did a great job of finding shady spots for us to stop at which helped to keep us cool. I would definitely book another tour next time we're in NYC. Thanks for a great day!
Holden was very knowledgeable. Shared lots of historical info as well as current day info about Brooklyn and made the ride much more interesting and fun. He was very nice and has a great smile.
We had the most fantastic day, interesting stories and great history of the different districts of Brooklyn. Frank answered all our questions(of which there were many) and helped us understand the way Brooklyners think. Would love to repeat the tour with this company when they have famous people from Brooklyn. Highly recommend to home wanting to see how this part of the city came to be.
Joined this group by accident because my boyfriend and I were lost, but by fate we found legit the best bike tour in NEW YORK!! We ended up on the tour of Brooklyn and our tour guide Brandon was Amazing. He was so knowledgeable, funny and guided us safely through the Brooklyn streets. We were on a mission to find this restaurant by the water and he went above and beyond to get us to our destination. We were guided through some of Brooklyns prime real estate, shown historic churches and movie scenes and even got to see New York’s only Red wood tree that was smuggled in from china that was still growing in Brooklyn heights!! It was my first time visiting New York and I will definitely rebook this tour when I return in the spring. I would love to see where he guides us to next??
Such a great ride. Loved every minute of it and learned so much history of Brooklyn. I really recommend it.
We couldn’t have asked for a better Brooklyn bike Tour. John provided the need-to-know the nags while we biked around Brooklyn Heights & DUMBO areas. Tour was adjusted to our family needs (10 & 12 year old children attended). Thanks John!!! That was awesome and we are looking forward to our next (hopefully extended) tour!
All parts were very interesting for us. We consider to book next time a trip again and even stay in a hotel in Brooklyn
When we heard the tour was 4 hours long we were worried it might be too much but the time flew by. Frank was a wonderful guide with so much knowledge and a great communicator. He was also so accomdating when we asked for a coffee break 30mins into the tour. The bikes were so good I didn't feel tired despite cycling over 20 miles. Frank knew the roads to take us on which minimised both hills and traffic.
Frank was a great tour guide. Showed us amazing areas, took us to a wonderful pizzeria, and was observant of all our surroundings.
The guide was great. He knows the neighborhoods, which are old, yet changing for the better for bikes.
Customisable tour, tailored to meet guests needs. Cycling, sightseeing and checking out local bars/restaurants. Great day out!
Great experience overall. Tom was a super guide, great with the history, sensitive to group needs, even advised us on transit and restaurants. Good bikes too.
Great tour! Guide from the neighborhood with a lot of -historical- info on Brooklyn. Nice spots and good ride!
John at Brooklyn Giro is the best! I highly recommend him. Our original Manhattan bike tour was canceled due to weather issues. He offered his Brooklyn tour and provided round trip transportation to Brooklyn from our Manhattan hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. John's knowledge of Brooklyn is extremely comprehensive, and he tailors his tours to his customers' interests. We plan to take a bike tour with him again when we return to the area.
We were greeted on our tour by John, the owner of the company. His Brooklyn charm made us feel comfortable right away! His passion and knowledge for Brooklyn was very obvious and he was able to customize our route based on our interest in history, buildings, and celebrities. We were a bit nervous with the traffic but John always made sure that the group was together and adjusted his pace as needed. We also bonded over our love for TGIF! After the tour was over, John was able to give us a great recommendation for pizza, coffee and gelato. I would highly recommend this tour if you'd like an intimate and customized tour 🙂
I have literally had cycling tour guides around the world and John (the owner) and Brooklyn Giro are at the top of the list! Three days of touring, which included a private custom tour and John even allowed me to take a bike for the TD FiveBoro event! John is not afraid to think out of the box – he will take you to off-the-beaten-path places if you are willing and want to go (or even suggest them). Two “regular” tours – Brooklyn with John and Manhattan with Tom. On the Manhattan tour, there was a couple who took the Brooklyn tour with John a year earlier. The best form is testimony is repeat customers and I will certainly be one of them! Thanks John for a great NY experience!
This bike ride was disappointing. According to the reservation it was 4 and half hours, but after 3 hours we were 'done'. According to the guide Seth, that was because we came from the Netherlands and cycle so fast. That was not true at all, because he was leading the way. I also missed Williamsburg in the tour, which I had been looking forward to. The guide indicated that it was because he would do Williamsburg with 2 from the group. The had the full day! Another hour! Real disappointing and not worth your money.
Excellent tour! Met our expectations and more. Tour guide was great, very informative, plus super patient when we wanted to stop for whiskey at Widow Jane. Would 120% do another tour with Brooklyn Giro the next time we're in Brooklyn! Also, if you're a regular rider, the hybrid Cannondales were fantastic; in very good shape and absolutely perfect for riding around Brooklyn - you won't want to go back to Citi Bikes afterwards! Highly recommend.
We had a great experience cycling through Brooklyn. The tour offered a great variety and the guide was very nice and found the right amount between cycling and sharing informative insights into brooklyns history. We will definitely come back and take another tour again (probably the brewery tour ) 😂
Seth was a great guide, gave us a great tour of this part of NYC that we had never visited before. Easy to ride although I would recommend to use a city bike type. Much easier for everyone to ride, less muscle and bum ache.
Seth did a wonderful tour, adding a load of local colour and interesting anecdotes. Such a nice guy and couldn’t do more to help. If I could score it more than 5, I would!
My 11 year old son and I had an incredible day with John. We visited many neighborhoods in Brooklyn, enjoyed pizza and ice cream. Very safe riding and John’s historical knowledge of the area enriches the experience. Highly recommend a private tour for families. This is my second ride with John and will be returning in September!
Wonderful team wonderful ride - it was amazing! You should not miss the opportunity to do this perfect tour, we enjoyed every minute. Thanks for this amazing day!
Thank god I got rebooked on the Brooklyn bike tour! So for Giro it's all about quality over quantity. One tour a day, small group size and a very knowledgeable tour guide straight out of Brooklyn. Being told facts, trivia and personal anecdotes made that whole experience a memorable day. 10/10 would do again and recommend!
We had a fantastic day on the bike. John showed us the most interesting spots and taught us all about history, present and future of Brooklyn. Thank you!!!
I really enjoyed the tour. Got lucky with the weather for February. Seth was a great guide. He gave us a good sampling of Brooklyn neighborhoods and he obviously knew his stuff. Go.
Exploring Brooklyn and surroundings, its so beautiful, and diversed community. I have learned great deal of history ,art, and culture.
Really enjoyed the experience. Safe and informative. Seems like the absolute best way to see all of Brooklyn. Plenty of stops along the way to catch your breath and a lunch/bathroom stop half way through.
Great 4 hour tour with Seth. Well paced and mostly flat. Several opportunities to stop for a bite to eat along the way. Would recommend bringing your own water bottle. Helmets were available but optional. Riding is mostly on quiet streets or greenways.
