The Ghost was our teacher and he was great! He was super nice, patient, and just made the class fun. Who wouldn’t enjoy spray painting on the walls for an hour? I would recommend this workshop!

My teenage daughter and I both had a great time on the tour and the graffiti workshop. The tour guide and graffiti instructor were full of knowledge and helpful. Highly recommend for adults and teens!
Great time learning about graffiti art, tagging and history around it. Located in a Brooklyn neighborhood with art all around to view. Good price, $60/ea. for workshop that sent us home with our own pieces of work (fine tuned by our teacher). Ghostface Mims was informative and helpful in leading us through the process which allowed us to practice on their walls before putting paint onto our personal projects. Whole thing was awesome for the whole family and lasted a little over an hour. Small class of 8 people made this feel very personable and we’ll be returning again on our next trip to NYC.
I took my nephew after he'd been expressing interest in graffiti and we had a great time. I went in not knowing how to do graffiti at all but the session was semi private, informative, engaging, and interactive. I really enjoyed all the knowledge shared. It was so cool to see my masterpiece come together by the end with the guide's help I'm genuinely proud of how it turned out!
They canceled the experience at the last minute and so far did not refund. Dishonest and untrustworthy. Stay away!
We had a great time! We were with family from ages 13-70s. "Ghost" did a great job, kept us interested and engaged the entire time, and we even got to go home with our own family canvas. I would highly recommend this for families wanting to try something different. There was also a birthday party there when we were there.... if we lived closer than Boston I would definitely consider that with my kids!
Isabelle was fantastic. SO talented and she did a marvelous job sharing the techniques employed at a level that the complete untrained could walk away with a semblance of knowledge. Hands down one of THE top experiences in our seven day trip. SO worth the money. PLUS it gave us a good reason to come to Brooklyn which gave us another NY perspective. Win/win.
The location of this activity is incredibly difficult to find and does not appear like the photo. Arrived late and the business would not answer the doorbell. We tried contacting them for 10 minutes with no response. There needs to be a phone # to call to get help from the business.
So fun! Enjoyed it and learned some good techniques. Can’t wait to get busy.
It was a lovely experience for my 10-year old son during the Spring break! I had no idea graffiti paint is so versatile - some works looked like water colors! And I was pleasantly surprised that there was no chemical smell in the room. The location in Bushwick was also great, very fitting to this activity. Our instructor was lovely and helpful. And I appreciated that as a parent, I could wait in peace outside at the kitchen counter, although some other parents chose to create jointly with their kids.
Great activity and opportunity to learn the techniques of graffiti! Got together with HS friends to do this after many years of walking the city to see street art/graffiti!
Super!! Would be better if I t was 90mins. End of session was rushed.

Really fun workshop my husband and I did together. We love graffiti and mad respect for the artists! It is NOT easy! But our artist Mims gave us a great lesson and really made the eperience a lot of fun. Super laid back and we took home a nice big canvas to hang of our artwork! Def a good time!
We celebrated our adult daughter’s birthday with a graffiti workshop. It was so much fun! We learned the basic techniques and were able to make something to take home. Definitely would recommend as a cool activity in NYC
The quality of the instruction was strong, providing education on the history, terminology and methods of graffiti as well as practical instruction and guidance during the experience of creating a piece of work. Patient and playful, encouraging and firm in terms of guidance, safety and other matters. The time was well used, great value for the money and a fun way to spend an afternoon together as a couple as well as meeting new people from around the world.
A++. We had Isabelle as our instructor and she was amazing! As a birthday celebration for a dear friend, everyone had a grand time! Can’t wait to do it again.
The experience was amazing. Our instructor was patient and wanted us to Learn. She really helped my boys 7 &10 years old who were really into it. We will definitely be back for another class
I recently took younger family members to Graffiti Tours to experience something new and unique in the hopes of inspiring them to become future street artists. We were not disappointed! The class was small, our instructor was very informative engaging, and enthusiastic! I would 100% recommend the experience to anyone who wants to experience the world of art where paint brushes are spray cans and walls are your canvas! From my younger family members I was told “it was the coolest Christmas gift ever!”
Leaf was absolutely amazing! My daughter (16 years old) learned quite a bit and really enjoyed herself. I would highly recommend this experience without hesitation.
Worth the trip to Brooklyn… kids (9 and 11) had a great time, too! Facilities are very ran down but that’s part of the experience I guess….
If you are looking for an out of the ordinary experience, look no further! We really enjoyed our time learning the art of graffiti and being able to put the skills to use with our own piece to take home. Small class sizes with an exceptional instructor!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The instructor was great/super friendly. It was not only fun but will also give you a respect for the art form. I would highly recommend this experience for any child or adult!
Such a fun, unique experience for kids of all ages! Our teacher was awesome and really helped the kids get comfortable and confident!
Leaf was our instructor. He did an awesome job helping us create something we were proud to bring home. He also helped us learn a little history re: NYC graffiti. All around really fun and beginner or intermediate artistic ability-friendly!
This was a different and fun event. Myself and my 16 year old daughter attended. The instructor was very good and helpful. He was a talented artist that facilitated us in producing a nice piece of work to photograph. Highly recommended.
We had a super fun experience learning how to create graffiti with Leaf! We were taught multiple techniques to use with spraypaint. It was fun creating art of our own. We then were given a street tour of graffiti artists in the area with a bit of history behind the art with Audrey. IT WAS GREAT! Highly recommend!
Mims (sp?) aka Ghost was great! He was excited about my sons desire to do graffiti and very supportive of my grom graffiti artist. He showed us basic skills and let us build on his instruction and direction. He explained different letter styles (block, bubble, wild style) and how to, using, "skeletons" create a tag, message, statement or piece of art that is individual but readable and easy to decipher.
This is a unique experience that everyone should do. Ghost was an amazing instructor who helped us to create a piece to take home. We will definitely not forget this workshop anytime soon.
Got my creative juices flowing. We were definitely not professionals in anyway and took home some fantastic pieces and memories of an unforgettable time. If you have time, make sure to do this workshop. You will not regret it. Ghost was an amazing guide and made the whole experience easy to do.
This experience was gifted to me and it was so fun to learn techniques and have free time to explore and create our own tags! Great balance of both within an hour and a good class size to feel like you had your own wall space to do your own thing. Thanks for a great time!
A great experience as part of our day exploring this area of Brooklyn. Thank you Ghost for a great experience and memory!
The artist is so easygoing and helpful. He was great with our shy teenager which we appreciated. An unusual and off the beaten track experience that I highly recommend.
This was a great activity whilst in NYC for a few days. Our teacher was very patient and gave us lots of time to practice and experiment. We all enjoyed it and came away with something we were pleased with. We’d definitely recommend to anyone wanting to do something fun and different.
I was drawn to this workshop because of the reviews. My 14-year-old son is an art lover who loves graffiti, and had been asking for months to come here. We drove from D.C. just for this experience, hoping it would be inspiring and memorable. Instead, we left feeling humiliated, ignored, and deeply hurt. I paid extra for both of us to receive personal canvases and arrived 15 minutes early, just as instructed. A white family of four (including two teenage boys) arrived shortly after us. When “Leaf” opened the door at 3:00 p.m., he asked me for my name and then turned away to greet the white family—giving them instructions, chatting, and stepping outside with them. My son and I were left standing there confused, having received no direction. Trying not to jump to conclusions, we followed them upstairs into the studio. Once upstairs, Leaf immediately pulled out two large canvases for the white boys and gave them further instruction. He did not acknowledge us again until 20 minutes later, when he casually asked what spray paint colors we wanted and told us to start painting on the wall. We tried to stay positive—for my son’s sake—but it was already clear we were being treated differently. When I asked about our canvases (which I had paid for), Leaf told me, “You didn’t pay for that.” I pulled out my paper receipt to show him otherwise. He checked his phone and said, “Oh, I didn’t want to throw you to the big dogs without practice first.” Meanwhile, the white family was already working on their full-sized canvases with his help. We had been given no instruction or acknowledgment. Finally, 40 minutes into the session, Gabe handed us tiny 4x6 canvases. This was supposed to be the individual canvas I paid for? The booking options only list two choices: paint on the wall or paint on a personal canvas. We paid for the same thing the other family received—so why were ours miniature? My son kept painting, trying to make the most of it, but Leaf never offered any guidance or encouragement. He continued to help the other family while we were left to figure things out ourselves. The final blow came at the end. Leaf signed the white boys’ canvases with his tag, and on the back of my son’s small canvas, he wrote: “Stay out of trouble, killa.” Why would you write that to a 14-year-old African American child? You didn’t write anything like that on the white boys’ work. What made you look at my son and associate him with trouble? My son has never been in trouble, never done a drug, and comes from a loving, structured home. He simply loves graffiti art and was excited to learn more. That comment broke something in him. I tried so hard to shield him from how Leaf treated us throughout the workshop, but the message on the back of that canvas said it all. He wanted to know why was he being singled out and referred to as a killer? This experience was traumatizing. I am reporting this business and writing this review to warn other families—especially families of color—that you may not be treated equally here. It is unacceptable for a white man profiting off a historically criminalized art form to stereotype a Black child for taking interest in that very art. And yes-I spoke to the owner directly and he completely dismissed my concerns.
It’s a great experience for parents and kids good workshop to bring out your artistic imagination it was amazing
This was so much fun! We booked this for my nephew’s 16th birthday since we were looking for something that was a little out of the box and fun to do with teenage boys. They had a blast. The instructor was great and showed us how to do a lot with a spray can! He helped us create a really cool piece of art to bring home. This really was an experience that we will always remember.

Middle of nowhere, got 20 minutes early and had to wait 10 outside. The class is basic rules of painting with spray, a short practice, and then the instructor does most of the creative work and you just color within the lines. More a workshop for Instagram than to actually do art. Guide not particularly attentive. Not recommended.
So fun and our instructor was super knowledgeable! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something creative and exciting in Brooklyn :)
This tour was so much more than I was expecting! We got there late and they were so accommodating. Our teacher/artist was kind, fun, enthusiastic, and patient. Not everyone with talent can teach, but he definitely had both qualities! I cannot stress how fun this was. I went with friends and we had a blast. As a native NYer it was great to pick up some paint and try to emulate an artform that I have seen every day of my life. Choose the option to take your artwork home with you, you'll be so glad you did!
My friends and I get together once a month for dinner and a fun activity. We decided to surprise one of our friends with a graffiti workshop, and he loved it! We all had a really good time. Our artist was Leaf, and he was super cool and guided us through the creation of our piece, which came out great! A few of my friends actually used to work with him many, many years ago, which was just a bonus surprise! They all got to reconnect! He was a super chill guy. We definitely recommend a private workshop if you're looking for something fun and unique to do in the city.
I volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters NYC and we had so much fun! I would highly recommend this for people. The instructor was great and so much fun.
We took our two teen daughters on a special birthday trip to New York City and scheduled the graffiti workshop for them on our last day. What a fun and educational way to end an amazing vacation! They learned so much and had a great time creating with Isabelle! Highly recommend!
We had a flight delay and they accommodated our last minute request for a family of four with a 12 and 9 year old. It was fun learning the skills and getting to paint at mural (with a lot of guidance). It was an awesome experience and a highlight of our trip to NYC. We took the L train from Manhattan and it was a quick walk through a safe area, then we had pizza at Roberta's before taking a share ride to La Guardia. Highly recommended!
I had the pleasure of participating in a graffiti workshop with Ghostface Mims as the guide, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Mims is not only a talented artist but also an excellent teacher. The workshop was extremely educational and provided me with valuable insights into the world of graffiti. Mims shared his knowledge about graffiti can control and the structure of a graffiti piece in a clear and inspiring way. His tips were practical and helpful, and I could immediately see how to apply them to my own art. I highly recommend the workshop and especially Mims as a guide. Whether you're a beginner or already have some experience in graffiti, you will definitely learn something new and have a great time! Thank you, Mims, for this wonderful experience!
Such a great, fun experience! Ghost was an excellent instructor, and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history, various styles, and the culture of graffiti. We love what we created, and we hung it up on the wall right away! We highly recommend this for any occasion! Ghost is such a talented artist, and you can tell Ghost loves creating
Great experience !! He was so helpful and informative - loved every minute - would definitely come back again
