The Dyker Heights Christmas Tour was an absolute highlight and exceeded all of our expectations. The Christmas decorations were truly breathtaking, and the overall atmosphere was magical. I would especially like to highlight our tour guide Ryan. He was excellent, extremely knowledgeable, and led the tour with great passion and professionalism. His explanations and stories made the experience not only informative but also very entertaining. It was clear that he genuinely enjoys what he does. Ryan played a huge role in making this tour unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour—especially with him as your guide!

Wear comfortable shoes & warm clothes. Ryan was an awesome tour guide & gave us the inside scoop for the homes. A really fun tour!
We did the same tour 2 years ago. I gave to this guy 5/5. The current guide was indifferent at the best. His comments were not interesting not funny not anything
Wow! I've been wanting to do this for a couple of years and so happy that I finally did! Ryan was a great tour guide - he's been a tour guide for I think 18 years and you could tell the enthusiasm that he had for the city, the neighborhood and this particular tour. He explained a lot of the history of the neighborhood and the lights and also was great maneuvering a large group through very crowded streets and sidewalks. Definitely recommend and so happy that I did it!
We unfortunately missed the tour due to getting slightly lost on the subway. That being said, we went anyway and really enjoyed waking the estate and would highly recommend.
John was a great guide. We enjoyed the tour very much. The decorations were beautiful and the houses too. Would recommend this tour during Christmas.
It was amazing!! Great tour guide and loved the history of houses. Well worth it and great experience!
Exceeded all expectations. The tour guide had lots of information about the origin of this fantastic community event.
Derek was awesome!!! Great at what he does.we enjoyed the walking tour and got to meet other people from the same state we were from
Our guide was brilliant and very informative was a trip worth going to for a Christmas treat whilst visiting New York in December
Loved the interactive and informative tour! Great way to see the lights and not get lost in the crowds! Our tour guide was funny- but also great at answering all our questions.
Not worth it at all. We were friendly met by two guides nearby the subway station. Although they divided the group in half, we still were very many - definitely more than the advertised max of 24. Our guide wore a backpack with speaker and constabtly tried to animate the group, whilst christmas music blared from.the speaker). Pretty annoying and we felt like cruise tourists or a group of kindergarten kids on excursion. Though people didn't react (obviously- we were here for Christmas lights, not a show) he constantly tried to push farther. Maybe this was adequate for the Americans in the tour but it felt pretty awkward to most of the internationals). When arriving in Dyker hights (which can easily be found on google maps) we soon realized that there was no benefit from the tour so we dropped out after the first stop. The neighborhood can easily be explored on your own hand and in your own pace. Just walk the streets block by block up and down as long as you want and save the money for a drink in a bar. 😁
Slava was is a very good tour guide. It was very informative and very funny. He really helped us appreciate the area and what was happening there.
Besides the lights, the guide wqs the best part of this experience. He wqs engaging, knowledgeable, personable, and funny.
Excellent experience and must do if in NYC for the holidays! I would highly suggest using a tour guide as you learn so much about the history and houses in Dyker Heights.
The lights on all the houses were beautiful. Be prepared for a lot of walking and no bathroom nearby. But the people that did up their houses did a wonderful and beautiful job.
Great tour Slavon was fantastic. Dyker Heigts lights was fantastic as well! Walked a lot and learned a lot
Great tour for the holidays! Glad to be with a knowledgeable guide as we made our way through the neighborhood.
So magical! I expected every house to be lit up in the neighborhood, but there are several that aren’t. The ones that are, go all out!
Nice tour. We lived the christmas atmosphere. Our guide was funny and communicative. He knew where to get us. Looked after us so we dont get lost in the crowds and provided a lot of info
Disappointed in many things, none were the guide fault. Left late, not informed of the bus we would take after tour, so we were prepared with payment method, just was a little scattered. Would not recommend to our friends.
Excelent service. A great option to visit at Christmas. The guide gives a clear context of the event.
This is exactly what we wanted. Simple and nice guided tour. The length of time was perfect and it also allowed that if you wanted to see more after the tour was over you could just continue on your own. Meeting place was easy to find from the subway which was an added plus.
The tour was excellent. The only thing that we had a slight problem with was waiting around too long in one spot, especially when it became crowded.
Our tour guide was great. He played Christmas music while we were walking and knew lots of fun facts about the lights.
The tour guide, Nicholas, had us at a very brisk walking pace. Would highly recommend you advise anyone to bring a flashlight with them. The sidewalks are very uneven. I fell and sustained bruises.
Great time. Our tour guide was knowledgable and had a nice sense of humor. Was a great tour of wonderfully decorated houses with a rich history. So much to see. Only recommendation would be to have the guide to walk us back to o our original pick up location.
Tour guide was nice, very explanatory, and helped everyone around. Plan to come again sometime.
This was a lovely trip to Dyker heights with the very informative John who made this trip great. The residents of this area put so much effort into their houses to show them off. John gave us so much info, showed us the best houses and even took everyone back to the subway after. Can highly recommend this trip if you are looking to see the amazing Christmas lights in Dyker heights , Brooklyn .
The views were amazing, so was our guide Jay. He made the tour 1000x better, because of his authentic and joyful character. We had enough time to take photos. definitely would recommend this tour!!
Jay was a really great guide and the tour was very nice! Visiting Dyker Heights is a must at christmas time.
Our guide, Giacinto was very kind and funny! He told us many stories about Christmas and Dyker Heights. Super.
We were running 8 minutes late due to a subway delay and reached out to the tour operator to see if we could meet up with the group at the secondary meet up spot. But we never heard back, which was disappointing. However, we walked the neighborhood on our own and observed other tours passing us by. I recommend that others walk on their own and avoid the crowds.
The lights and decorations are very impressive (and a little bit ridiculous in places). We could have walked round and seen them ourselves, but it was better as a tour because our guide knew where the best houses were, and told us information and stories.
Study the subway beforehand if leaving from Midtown Manhattan!! Our tour guide was Kathryn and was wonderful she even made sure we made it back to our destination following the tour!!
Meeting point is about 20-25 mins walk from start point. This was in cold weather with kids and a Pushchair. The tour guide said this is done in order to meet next to subway stop however there should be a later (2nd meeting point) in order to have families walk 20-25 before the start of the tour. If this is the policy it should have been stated. We had to leave the tour half way. Will not recommend.
The Tour guide was rude and disorganized. I arrived 15 minutes before the tour time. Because it was a long ride to brooklyn, I had to go to the bathroom. I was told Mcdonalds was the closest so I went there.when I returned, they left. If they were gonna do that, They could have just told me! Or gave me some insight on what direction they were walking! And why tell me were to go to the restroom if you knew you would be leaving? I came a long way on the train to there meeting place. That was ignorant as hell!
We had John as our tour guide he was brilliant and very knowledgeable about the area was a great tour ❤️
This was my second Dyker Heights lights tour. I recommended it to some friends we were traveling with. Definitely enjoyed the festive holiday spirit. However, there were not as many impressive lights as previous when I went almost 10 years ago. Covid has ruined everything.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. He looked out for all of the people in our group and make sure everyone knew where to meet up.
Unique tour, with knowledgeable tour guide (believe it was John) who was able to take us to see the best houses and was sure to look after everybody in the tour, including how to get home. Very Christmassy and enjoyable, just make sure you wrap up warm!
This was a great way to start our New York vacation and get into the Christmas spirit. Enjoyed learning about the tradition and the stories about particular homes that participated in decorating
The tour started out very messy. It started at 6pm and although there were a few folks who arrived a few minutes late, they were told by my tour guide to wait for the next guide and they could not join our tour, which is just not a very customer-friendly thing to say to someone (i work for a corporate company on the guest services side) and put a bad taste in my mouth. my guide seemed frazzled and when we arrived at dyker heights, he was just walking by the houses so fast that i decided within 10 minutes of being there to just do my own tour as i remembered the walk back to the station and can easily google the info when i came home. this is the first time i've ever left a tour group and i could've used the $25 for something else. oh well. maybe it was my tour guide who wasn't great. speaking of the area, it's amazing! definitely take your time walking around after the tour is over!
Fantastic experience and a must do tour! The houses looked amazing! The tour guide was very knowledgeable.
Jeffrey had a lot of great information about the houses. Everything was timed well and the information was interesting
We enjoyed our tour of Dyker Heights. Katherine was wonderful. She was engaging, organized and gave a wonderful history of the area.
Not a great guide don’t feel I got my money’s worth. Would return without a guide The lights are gray though
Great night out, thanks Jeff for providing a fascinating insight into the Dyker Heights Christmas lights and for being extremely flexible in moving my original booking in a quick and timely manor. We were truly WOWed by what we saw and would fully recommend this tour.
Katherine is a charming host, keeping us entertained with an informative commentary whilst efficiently guiding us around the light spectacular. Well worth a visit.
Derrick was a fantastic tour guide! His music, stories and liveliness gave us a memorable experience. This is a must do!
