Very informative walking tour. Wear comfortable shoes. Our tour guide, Michael, very knowledgeable and I learned quite a bit from him about the history of the area. Tour did run a bit longer than 3 hours. I enjoyed it

Itinerary
Starting from the Manhattan side, walk across one of New York City's most iconic landmarks, the Brooklyn Bridge. Completed in 1883, it was the world's first steel-wire suspension bridge and a groundbreaking engineering achievement designed by John A. Roebling. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River, the Statue of Liberty, and Brooklyn's waterfront as your guide shares the bridge's remarkable history.
Stroll along the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, a scenic pedestrian walkway overlooking the East River and Lower Manhattan. Stretching nearly one-third of a mile above the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, the promenade offers some of New York City's most spectacular and photographed views of the skyline, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Statue of Liberty.
Explore the historic streets of Brooklyn Heights, widely considered America's first suburb and one of New York City's most beautiful neighborhoods. Discover elegant 19th-century brownstones, hear stories of the Revolutionary War and the Underground Railroad, and see the former home of Truman Capote, where he wrote Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Explore DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), one of Brooklyn's most vibrant waterfront neighborhoods. Walk its historic cobblestone streets, admire converted warehouse buildings, and discover the area's transformation into a hub for art, dining, and culture. Along the way, stop at DUMBO's famous photo locations for unforgettable views of the Manhattan Bridge and New York City skyline.
Stop at DUMBO's famous Washington Street viewpoint for one of New York City's most iconic photo opportunities. Capture the Manhattan Bridge perfectly framed between historic brick buildings as your guide shares the history of this once-industrial neighborhood.
Visit Time Out Market New York, where your guide shares the history of DUMBO's waterfront and its transformation from a thriving industrial district into one of Brooklyn's most popular neighborhoods. Take in spectacular views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan skyline, and East River.
See Jane's Carousel, a beautifully restored 1922 carousel housed inside a striking glass pavilion in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Learn how this historic carousel was preserved and relocated to the waterfront while enjoying one of DUMBO's most picturesque settings.
Explore the historic Fulton Ferry District, the site of Brooklyn's original ferry landing that connected Manhattan and Brooklyn long before the Brooklyn Bridge was built. Learn how the ferry helped shape the city's growth while enjoying waterfront views of the bridge, skyline, and East River.

Renee aknowledment is so wide and fascinating... As she walked us through the Brooklyn Bridge and exploring DUMBO streets and stories. She's nr 1
A great experience! Informative, awesome views,, great place to eat in DUMBO after the tour. The guide was wonderful. It felt like we really did a classic New York City experience
Michael was extremely knowledgeable and had a great personality. He was patient and didn't rush through things. We really liked this tour and saw things I hadn't seen living in nyc for 5 years. Thank you for doing such eclectic tours.
Renee was a knowledgeable guide when we walked the Brooklyn Bridge and explored DUMBO. Ask for her!
Great tour with very kind, knowledgeable guide. Enjoyed it very much, but so cold that by the end we were frozen. All part of the wonderful experience of NYC. Highly recommend. The only small thing is that the full information on the website said that ferry tix back across at the conclusion of the tour were included. This turned out to be not the case and the lovely guide Michael seemed surprised that I mentioned it. See below: Enjoy a classic New York experience by walking across the Brooklyn Bridge • Uncover the industrial charm of Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood • Learn about NYC's history and culture from your guide • Includes complimentary ticket for the East River Ferry, traveling from Brooklyn back to Manhattan. No major issue with this but it does need to be taken out of the information because I did my planning to get back to our accommodation from where I thought we’d end up - at Pier 11. Thank you.
Good informations! Small group! 👌 Our tour guide Renée listened to the interest of the people and ajusted her tour. Well done!
All in all our tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable also very personable. He answered all our questions and did not rush the tour.
Excellent tour and Meredith our guide was fabulous, she had so much information. DUMBO was in my NYC bucket list and did not disappoint.
We enjoyed hearing about the history of the bridge and walking across the deck. Lori was well versed in the history and had lots of pictures and stories to show and tell. If you are interested in learning about the history of the bridge, I recommend this tour.
Meredith was great … very informative, answered our questions and curiosities, gave some fab photo ideas and took our photos. Knowing the history of the bridge and area around it was amazing.
Just finished a fantastic waking tour of the Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO area with Renee. What a delight! Renee was a wealth of facts on all NYC buildings, the Brooklyn Bridge, the DUMBO area and so many other historical and geographical facts. I look forward to another walking tour with Renee the next time I visit NYC. I highly recommend this tour and Renee as your guide.
Excellent tour! Jon was an amazing guide - professional, knowledgeable - and entertaining!! Would highly recommend this sunset tour and Jon as a guide -he took some amazing photos that he shared and coupled with the breathtaking views - was an amazing experience.
Great tour with Jon, learnt loads about the area in an interesting way. Pointing out good places to take photos from and he also took some fabulous pictures of my friend and I - so we have some great memories to look back on.
Jon was exceptionally knowledgeable, entertaining and attentive. Thank you for teaching us so much! Marie and Luke from Canada
Jon is a superb guide. He is well informed and interesting. The tour included many fascinating facts about the architecture, the history of New York and Jon took some great photos. Fantastic tour would recommend to first time or seasoned visitor to NYC
Garrett was super informative and charismatic. I learned so much history behind the Brooklyn Bridge. One of the best tours I’ve been on. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!!!!
We did the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO tour on a Sunday morning. Onel did a great job. The tour was interesting, informative and delivered at the right pace, allowing time for photos and questions. Onel is a proud Brooklyn resident and we really enjoyed our time with him.
One of our most favorite parts of our NYC trip was this tour with Garrett! He was super knowledgeable and kept us laughing the whole time. I highly suggest you take this tour!
Had a great tour with Garrett of the Brooklyn Bridge/DUMBO. Lots of great photo opportunities, and the city was amazing at night! We appreciated his insights as a native New Yorker and enjoyed all the historical info. We learned quite a bit and were glad to start out our weekend with this experience! It is quite a bit of walking - so definitely keep that in mind, but well worth it.
Garrett was great. Patient knowledgeable and Caring trip was interesting and we had amazing weather as a New Yorker I was surprised. How much new info I learned
Our guide, Katherine, shared her knowledge of the Brooklyn Bridge and the area around it in an interactive and engaging way. Before I joined her tour, the bridge was just a bridge with a great view. It has a great view indeed. But after her deep dive into the history of hardships surrounding its construction, it is now, at least for me, a bridge with great human drama, particularly a story of a family of innovative engineers. She made these technical details, which can often be difficult to follow, fun. I recommend anyone with an interest explore the area’s past and present with her.
Kathrine was amazing! Very knowledgeable and awesome personality! Highly recommended. Amazing pictures and sights of the city
It was an excellent tour!! Onel was very precise and emphatic when highlighting Brooklyn's relevance to New York City. Highly recommended! It's the second time I've done it, the first was in 2019!
This review is for the 6:45pm walking Brooklyn bridge/DUMBO tour. The tour is listed as a 3-hour tour on TripAdvisor, yet our tour guide said we had to get to the last ferry by 8:30pm, which forced us to hustle through all the sites of interest talking points. The ferry is 4 minutes long and there are 2 more ferries after within that 3 hour tour time. The guide was very knowledgeable and this felt like a mad dash. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge at a leisurely pace would have been more enjoyable.
The tour and views were amazing! Our tour guide Garret was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of history of New York. We took the 6:45pm tour which was great timing we took amazing pictures of the sunset and night time. Absolutely recommend this tour.
This tour is absolutely worth it. Our guide was fantastic his expalnation was amazing especially for someone like me who gets easily bored with the history. There were plenty of breaks within the tour. The DUMBO area is very cosmopolitan and has lot of restaurants and wide variety of food.
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was an incredible experience, especially with the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. We had such a great time on this tour! My kids loved the tour. The guide never let us get bored. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was very well organised by the company. Thanks for the great expeience.
I absolutely loved this tour! Walking the Brooklyn Bridge gave us stunning views of the NYC skyline. Our guide was super knowledgeable, sharing cool facts about the bridge and the city’s history. DUMBO was a great stop, full of interesting shops and beautiful views of the river. We had some time to explore and grab a coffee before heading back on the ferry, which gave us more great views of the city.
The combination of the bridge walk and ferry ride offered some of the best views of New York City. The guide was well-informed and engaging, making the tour both educational and enjoyable.
This was my favorite tour of all time! Not only were the views beautiful, the stories were engaging and informative. Tours By Foot is outstanding from the office to the tour guides!
This was such a great experience.y family and I joined Lori to walk across Brooklyn Bridge and I’m really glad we had a tour guide. She was great at giving us time to take photos but also sharing stories and pointing out features and views we will not have seen otherwise.
Great Tour,it was super, Thanks to tours by foot for great time. We would definitely recommend this tour for families......
We took the Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO tour. The host made several attempts to flirt with my partner, which made her feel quite uncomfortable. I was annoyed about how shameless and offensive the tour guide was. The tour itself was not outstanding, but OK.
Onel escorted a small group of us across Brooklyn Bridge and Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass (DUMBO). He is a long time resident of Brooklyn and very knowledgeable about the bridge and the area generally. We had a lovely morning finishing up with advice on where to get the best pizza and ice cream! We enjoyed several walking tours with this company including a tour of Harlem with a lady called Altovisa and a 6 hour tour with Garrett which took us from Wall Street to The Highline. We thoroughly enjoyed each one! Thankyou.
Fantastic! (Really.) I know, you can walk the Bridge for free and see the sights, but why would you? You can go with an expert guide (John) and delight in the history of Manhattan and Brooklyn coming alive with a master storyteller + take in some spectacular views along the way. It was a pleasure to pay 50 bucks for this memorable 2.5 hour guided walk and I will enthusiastically recommend it to friends! So. Darned. Fun. ~Roma & Paul
Loved this tour! The walk across Brooklyn Bridge had stunning views. Our guide shared fascinating stories about the city’s history. DUMBO was full of character, and the ferry ride was a relaxing end. I really enjoyed this tour with Tours By Foot and will surely plan on doing some more tours with them. Definitely worth it!
Magical new York evening with Aline cannot ever forget the views and the history and such quintessential NYC stories! Best tour of new York that I hope every visitor gets to enjoy! Trust the reviews and go with Tours By Foot.
My wife and I were lucky to have Jon all to ourselves on a Tuesday night tour. It was a gorgeous evening, and Jon was a great guide. He's very energetic, engaging, informative, and entertaining. He clearly cared a lot about making sure we had a great time and received good value for the price. He customized the trip on the spot based upon our interests. He knew exactly where to get the best photos, at just the right times when the sun was setting (and he took some of us too, and sent them to us at tour's end). The bridge is an easy walk, with some of the best views in the city. We were surprised how much we liked DUMBO, and again the views were fantastic. We took the included quick ferry ride back. Definitely a worthwhile tour.
Highly recommended - the entire family were thrilled to be part of the walking tour. Jon is an incredible host. Very attentive knowledgeable and engaging
The tour with Tours by Foot and Mary was amazing. I loved about how our guide explained everthing. She's an excellent storyteller! Now I understand and appreciate why this bridge is so important to NY.The views were amazing, we managed to get some brilliant photos. The East River Ferry ride was a scenic and relaxing finish.
This tour was an absolute highlight of my visit to New York City. DUMBO, was the best part of the tour where we explored the charming neighborhood known for its cobblestone streets, trendy boutiques, and vibrant art scene. The East River Ferry ride was a relaxing way to end the tour, offering beautiful views of the city from the water.
A fantastic tour covering some of NYC’s best spots! Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge offered amazing views, and our guide shared interesting facts. The East River Ferry ride was a relaxing end, showcasing the skyline beautifully. We enjoyed a Lot.
I took a walking tour with Lori. Although I grew up in Queens and live there, I learned so many interesting things I never knew before the tour. I really enjoyed it, and I plan on doing the other tours, too! I did the Little Italy, Chinatown and Soho tour but it was not a choice in the "menu" so I chose the Brooklyn Bridge which I have not done yet, but I plan on it!
Amazing- we’ve done quite a few tours in NYC and elsewhere and Marie was a top notch guide. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learned so many historical points of significance along the way. I highly recommend Tours by Foot team for anyone considering a future tour, they truly enhanced my Brooklyn Bridge experience.
A wonderful tour showcasing the beauty of the Brooklyn Bridge and the vibrant DUMBO area, topped off with a scenic ferry ride
I invited some theater friends of mine to take this tour with me and they LOVED it. It was my 5th time taking this tour. Each time , different guide, MORE information.

Jon was an exceptional tour guide who went above and beyond to provide great information and answer all our questions. The views were fantastic and Jon was extremely entertaining, energetic, engaging, and knowledgeable as he shared interesting stories about the history and development of the area we toured. He made a point to advise regarding all the best photo opportunities and gave time for everyone to take photos. We look forward to more walking tours with this group while we enjoy our time in New York!
