No where else will you ever see this collection of replicas due to the fact that many of his works have been destroyed over the years. Fun stencil class at end of tour. Great exhibits. Enjoyed the format of museum. Learned a lot about Banksy.
Enjoyed it. Nice reproductions with some nice descriptions and background nearby. Ill give a knock on it with makeshift walls and taped off corridors that took away from the genuine feel of a museum.
Glad we did it !! was so good to see his work although not the real thing but great nonetheless would definitely recommend
Loved it, aesthetically but also so informative! Learned so much more about the artist and his work but also about the intent behind the projects!
I don’t think you can really qualify this is a museum, but rather an “experience”. While understandably all the immovable art are reproductions, the same goes for the moveable art etc. It’s interesting to see the life size reproductions of the street art, but of course you lose a huge part of the context of where the actual piece was physically created. A bit expensive for what it is l, as about the same price for the MOMA or the Whitney. A 10$ entry fee would be more commensurate.
This is an exhibit that should not be missed! Very informative and thought provoking. Well laid out, not overwhelming, and just the right size to spend an hour or so.
I didn't know this museum existed until I was researching another museum to go to and I saw the Banksy Museum was nearby. I never would have noticed the museum because it's located on an extremely busy street in Chinatown surrounded by vendors, hustlers, locals and tourists sightseeing and shopping, souvenir shops and restaurants. I went on a Saturday and the museum was blissfully quiet and peaceful after the chaos of the streets outside. The exhibit is well organized with informative placards spread throughout. A modest gift shop rounds out the one-hour tour.
Not a single piece of original art or authentic print in the building. Very disappointing I feel I have been robbed as this was not clear with a $30 entry fee
Precise facsimiles of Banksy's work with comments for many. And information on where the originals can be found.
Enjoyed the description of each piece. His work is clever and speaks volumes. The flow of the space is viewer friendly. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Enjoy, I did.
You don’t have to be a Banksy aficionado to enjoy this museum! Every piece said something. Worth every penny!
Great museum- small enough to immerse yourself for 2 hours and then Explore the neighborhood. I’ve been to other Banksy exhibits and this explored more of his current projects. Really enjoyed learning more.
Definely go! We thought we knew most of his major works and we didn’t. They are re-created so well in a layout that is wonderfully informative and keeps you motivated to continue through the exhibit to learn more around each ( literal) corner. My only negative is that I didn’t get the name of the thoughtful manager/ front desk person who answered many questions and was a delight!
Highly recommend this unique and dynamic museum for anyone and everyone, all ages! Super illuminating, and as cryptic as the artist himself! The Museum Director is knowledgable, effusive, enthused and a great host. The space is self directed, so you can spend as much time with the Art work as you wish. I took a group of High School students and they all enjoyed the visit immensely.
It's up stairs but not bad. Exhibit it self was great. Great balance. Would go again. Very good gift shop. Lots of options.
Very cool to see a large collection of Banksy’s works in one place, with helpful commentary provided so you understand the location and message intended.
Banksey's wit and wisdom are on full display in an astonishingly varied collection of his grafitti (murals?). The museum is up a flight of stairs in a very unimpressive part of lower Manhattan. The setting is perfect for this underground artists' anti-establishment 'guerilla art'.
It was a fun experience seeing his famous graffiti art. Its 2 levels that ends in the gift shop. It took me about 1 hour to see it all.
The exhibits are captivating, showcasing Banksy’s iconic works alongside fascinating insights into his artistic process, political statements, and cultural impact. The immersive experience beautifully blends art, activism, and mystery, making it both thought-provoking and inspiring.
As a big fan of Banksy, I expected a much more immersive and interesting experience. The collections remain quite limited, and the museum felt a bit "dead," lacking any real atmosphere. In my opinion, there are much cooler exhibitions in Europe to discover Banksy's works and universe. The price is also quite high for what is offered. The welcome was not particularly warm, and there was even no one present at the shop at the end of the visit. The neighborhood around the museum is honestly not very safe either, which does not help make the experience enjoyable. In the end, it is a visit that I would not necessarily recommend, especially if you have already seen other exhibitions dedicated to Banksy.
Yesssss!!! We were right to go and see this museum. A revival of the works of the great Banksy, well arranged, in one place! Enjoy the visit because it is really worth it!!
You must have seen it. Contemporary street art that draws attention to grievances brought to the museum, so that one can see various works of the artist faithfully reproduced.
One of the most formidable places in this great city. A moment of pure art and a reflection on talent. An experience to not forget.
