Mark offered an excellent experience in the MET: he was engaged and very informed. Also did the Central Park tour with him in the afternoon which was a very pleasant experience on a beautiful late fall day. Highly recommend both.

This was a wonderful experience! I had seen this museum many times without a tour guide and learned so much and enjoyed each exhibit so much more today with her expertise. Highly recommend
Cheri with Babylon tours was an excellent guide. Very caring, passionate and informative.
I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s website to find a docent-led tour. I was directed to an affiliated site offering morning guided tours lasting two and a half hours. I expected a qualified college or university instructor, lecturer, or art historian to lead us through the museum and highlight its key works. Instead, our guide was an energetic actor who seemed to enjoy the performance as much as the museum. His strong enthusiasm felt awkward and made us feel like schoolchildren. We had expected a relaxed, engaging museum visit.
This was a wonderful tour! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and kind to really Taylor the tour toward what our group found interesting. It was really great tour. I had been to this museum many times on my own and feel like I had hardly seen anything compared to what I saw in Highly recommend! 2 1/2 hour tour.
Michael was an awesome tour guide for the Met. My family and I have been so many times, but never had an opportunity to have a tour guide show us around. He was so friendly and made us appreciate so many different types of art that we otherwise would have missed. I would give this tour a 11 out of 10!
Robin was excellent! Although when u book with Viator u need to know it’s a third party ticket and the excursion is actually thru Babylon.
Cherie was great. The MET is very big , she made it look easy to navigate . She was a storyteller and historian making it easy to learn . Quite fascinating. Great guide!
We booked this tour to get as much as possible out of our time at The Met. What we didn’t know we were getting was a personalized experience full of captivating stories about the artists' lives and the people who brought the art to the museum. Robin was a wealth of knowledge and a highlight of our trip to New York!
Mark was incredible, would do it again
Great your. Our tour guide Rob was very knowledge and made the tour interesting, informative and entertaining.
This is a highlight tour. There is so much at the Met, you need to schedule days. Having said that, Charlie was well educated and had tid bits of tantalizing info regarding paintings, sculptures, and exhibits. 10/10 tour, would do it again. He knows the place like the back of his hand. My mind is still reeling over Rembrandt’s, Van Gough’s, oh..and a little hidden Michelangelo. Absolutely superb morning.
Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He knew a lot about the city and the museum. I left with a newfound respect for American art.
Our tour guide, Alex, was phenomenal! His love for story telling was truly impactful! Great tour! Highly recommend!
Mark was fantastic! Fun, friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable!
The tour was enjoyable on every level. My daughter & I had not been so we needed a good introduction to how to navigate the space and we got that. Mark was fabulous
We had such a wonderful private tour of The Met with Charlie! He is an incredible historian and storyteller who made everything we saw feel interesting and engaging, while also being so personable and easy to talk to. We had our nine-month-old with us, and Charlie effortlessly helped us navigate the busy museum, making the entire experience feel relaxed and seamless. His knowledge, warmth, and ability to bring history to life made this one of the highlights of our trip to New York & we plan on booking him again on our next trip out to the city. We couldn’t recommend Charlie more highly!
Absolutely loved this tour of The Met! Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the incredible collection so much more interesting and enjoyable. The exclusive guided experience was the perfect way to discover the highlights without feeling overwhelmed. Highly recommended!
Our tour of the Met with Kevin was incredible! Very knowledgeable and friendly and made sure my daughter and I had a great experience!
Mark V was an amazing tour guide. He showed us all around the Met with joy and spirit. He was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Charlie was our tour guide for the Met. We found Charlie to be entertaining, knowledgeable, engaging and enjoyable. His stories at each exhibit were full of interesting facts.
We had a great tour with Charlie. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend.
Our tour guide Charles was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, personable and fun all at the same time!
Charlie! You are a gem!!! We loved your enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour today at the Met. Unforgettable! You are a worldly class act. Many thanks from rogan and Sarah, Calgary, AB.
Charlie was an awesome guide. He made the experience educational and interesting. He also was a wealth of NYC knowledge helping with things to do here. We have done numerous tours like this and this was definitely in the top three. Thanks.
Robyn was amazing! She knew so much about the art and was so funny. She definitely gave me a new appreciation for the back stories.
Mark V was incredible! Navigated the Met in a way that was perfect for a first time visitor. 10/10 will definitely be booking again.
We had a great experience with Cherie! The best way to appreciate a collection this large is to have a guide to help explain it to you. Cherie gave us a lot of interesting information that we couldn’t have gotten just from reading the cards. Highly recommend!
This tour is a great way to see the highlights of the museum so you can stay longer afterwards and explore on your own. Our guide Robin was very knowledgeable because she used to be a curator. It was great to get her insight and feel her excitement as she explained the art. Wonderful tour!
Our tour of The Met with Robin from Babylon Tours was absolute perfection! Robin’s depth of knowledge is incredible, but what truly set the experience apart was how seamlessly she tailored the entire visit to our personal interests. She brought the museum’s collection to life in a way that was engaging, insightful, and completely stress-free. If you’re visiting NYC, book with Babylon and specifically request Robin!
Mark Venaglia is an outstanding tour guide. He is incredibly upbeat, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we got the absolute most out of our visit to the Met. He explained the exhibits and art in a way that was both engaging and easy to follow, and he constantly pointed out fascinating details and historical context we would have completely missed on our own. He gave us a wonderful grounding in the museum’s history and was extremely personable the entire time. Best of all, he customized the tour exactly to what we wanted to see and do. I can’t recommend him highly enough — we will definitely work with him again on future visits.
We took a wonderful private tour with Mark V, who was energetic and enthusiastic and conveyed interesting material both to my friend - who’d never been to the Met before - and to me (who has been there lots). As we were 2 women, I loved that he made sure to stop and analyze women painters, female subjects, and women pharaohs. He introduced us to the marvelous painter Henry Tanner. My friend was able to see the museum’s most famous highlights as well. We had a fun time finding some surprising objects in the painting of Washington Crossing the Delaware (a painting we thought we knew since grade school). Best way to introduce someone to an art museum! Thanks Mark!
Kevin was so knowledgeable. A good story teller. Kept a good pace. Respectful. Can’t wait to tour with him again.
Kevin was amazing and gave us a huge experience on the top point of MET !
Michael C was an excellent tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and has a heart for all things art! I highly recommend you booking this tour. It was a highlight of our trip!
This tour experience with Charlie was an educational and cultural adventure. Charlie shared context and education that brought the art to life. A true highlight of our trip to NYC. Thank you, Charlie & Babylon tours!
Our tour guide, Jonathan, was amazing. His way of telling the stories behind each highlight was engaging and incredibly knowledgeable. Every piece he selected to discuss was fascinating, and my daughter loved every minute of the tour. We learned so many interesting facts, and the interactions between Jonathan and the group made the experience unforgettable. I will never forget the two faces of Van Gogh and the story behind the museum’s most expensive painting. Never visit without a guide—you will miss so much valuable information!
Catherine was a gracious and energetic tour guide. She was so well-versed on the displays that we wound up taking notes. The best thing is that her energy and awareness has encouraged us to visit the museum again. There’s no way to take it all in in just a few hours.
This was my first visit to The Met and I knew it was huge. The guide was very informative & made the tour fun not just a bunch of facts. He stressed that you can not do the whole Met in one day so we would be seeing some of his favorite go to exhibits. The tour size was small (8) so easy to hear & stay together.
Super fun tour Mark was an excellent guide He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Met itself and the art and art history Wished it were longer but we thoroughly enjoyed it
Jonathan was amazing! My partner and I had an amazing time seeing the MET with Jonathan and our small group. Jonathan involves his group members throughout the tour and was so personable and knowledgeable. I could not recommend this tour enough! If you’re going to see anything at the MET definitely consider using a tour guide. I’ve gone it alone at the MET which is amazing but there’s so much to see. You could literally spend months trying to see even portions of the MET on your own. With someone like Jonathan you’ll get an in-depth look at multiple sections across tens of pieces of significance and have memories that last that bring you back for years to come.
Our guide Jonathan was fantastic! He delivered as promised, the highlights of the highlights of the MET. My partner and I could not have been more pleased with our tour that includes storytelling, accurate telling of the history of the artifacts and their context and a personalized experience for our group that drew us all in. This was my favorite trip to New York City, one of the reasons for that was this guided tour. I highly recommend this tour. The MET is amazing but can definitely be overwhelming. If you want to enhance your experience and make it really memorable, definitely consider a guided tour!
Our tour guide Kevin was great, very knowledgeable, gave us an amazing experience, and had good in-depth conversations. Overall, a pleasurable venture in The Met.
Really the only way to see the highlights of the extensive collections at the Met if you're short on time! Jeff D was an amazing guide and we were the only ones on the tour that day, so it was a private tour - an amazing value! Jeff is obviously a pro and we were so lucky in that the most popular exhibits (self portrait of Van Gogh, for example) were not crowded. Additionally, he led us to one of the earliest works of Michelangelo which was lost to history and then discovered in a garden. He was quite engaging with our 15 year old niece, who remarked that she missed him when the tour was over and we were looking at some collections afterwards, without the context he provided for the works. Would highly recommend this tour and Jeff D!
MARK IS OUTSTANDING . Energetic, positive, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and a great smile. Great communication skills. The best!
Charlie is da Bomb! THE BEST travel guide ever! Make sure you request him. You will be so pleased!
The highlights of the Met was a great quick intro to the most important pieces in the MET. You can definitely spend 3-4 weeks trying to see everything, but this was a great experience for my 16 year old kids to give them a “taste”. Rob was a phenomenal guide and was able to compress thousands of years of history and hundred of years of paintings/ art in just 2.5 hours. I highly recommend this tour and Rob as a guide.
Robin was an excellent guide. She shared her vast knowledge of the museum’s exhibits and artifacts in an enthusiastic way that our teen really enjoyed. We were in a small group and were able to see all of the museum’s highlights while learning about how the collections were assembled and the history behind them in addition to learning how to appreciate how each successive period in art history of the exhibits we viewed contributed to the one that followed. Our family was most interested in the Impressionism period and we learned additional details of the artists, their techniques, and their interactions with each other that we found very informative. We highly recommend the tour and our guide, Robin.
Learned a lot about art and the met.
Had a great time. Charlie was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. He made it a great tour. Would definitely recommend the tour and him.
