What a beautiful experience we had at Whiteface Lodge! Everything was truly top-notch—the room, the service, and the activities. We had so much fun as a family. Even though it rained the entire time we were there and we couldn’t go out much, we were still able to enjoy everything the resort had to offer. I also want to mention that I’m vegetarian, and the restaurant staff and manager were kind enough to prepare a vegetarian option for me that wasn’t part of their regular buffet. I really appreciated how accommodating and thoughtful they were. We had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to visit again! ❤️

Our first time staying here and we can not wait to come back! We have visited LP so much and this feels like a hidden gem. There is no need to leave the lodge, but if you do they provide shuttle service to the main street village or it is a short enough drive. The restaurants are excellent on site. We tried Kanu and it was delicious. The decor inside was spectacular. Every staff member we encountered was polite and courteous. The Lodge is very clean and orderly. 10 out of 10 across the board.
Stayed here for three days a couple of weeks ago. There are not enough good words to describe our visit. The lodge is not only breathtaking, but it has also absolutely everything you need for a great vacation on site. It is also a very convenient location for trips into Lake Placid and the surrounding area. We enjoyed both restaurants multiple times but were especially blown away by breakfast in the main dining room. Service was world class. Would highly recommend Whiteface Lodge!
Attended a wedding reception here. Pre-dinner cocktails and d'oeuvres, reception, and going away brunch the next day. Very impressed with the friendly staff. Bartenders and servers in particular. Food and drinks was great. Reception room and dance area nicely sized. Bathrooms featured real towels. Nice touch. Beautiful location. Although I did not stay here, the grounds looked impeccable with a grand resort in the mountains feel. It's close to town where you could take a nice walk there. Could use more handicapped parking spaces is only suggestion. As a location for a wedding reception, could not be beat.
We had our wedding at Whiteface Lodge in 2016 and it was truly spectacular. We stayed several times leading up to the wedding to finalize details, flowers, etc. and every stay was fantastic, staff were always welcoming, grounds and the rooms were always immaculate and the accommodations were always top notch. We just went back to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and unfortunately the lodge has lost its premier feel. The staff at check-in, while they were friendly they could’ve cared less that we were coming back for our anniversary. Our room was dirty - urine stains around the base of the toilet, switch plates were filthy, most of the woodwork was very dusty, and the drawer in the vanity was broken. Surprising considering they just re-opened after “deep spring cleaning”. They were prompt about sending someone to clean the toilet at least. Moving onto the spa - my husband called several times leading up to our stay and left messages to book massages. No one returned the call until the day we were headed up and of course now they were fully booked. We did at least snag a spot at Healing Elements just down the road and they were fantastic. Breakfast was included which was nice because I don’t recall it being that way in the past, however, dress code is apparently no longer a thing. At breakfast there were several guests in tube tops or straight up pajamas. When we called to make reservations for Kanu we were told button down/slacks attire for the men and Skirts/dresses for the ladies. We arrived for dinner exited to celebrate in the same room our ceremony was, only to find only one other couple dressed- the rest were in t-shirts and shorts. And while we have a young child and understand kids will be kids, a couple was allowing their little one to literally climb on top of the adjacent table and they were videoing him rather than being worried about him getting hurt!!! The grounds are starting to be in disrepair. Rock walls falling apart and the tunnel between the main lodge and the clubhouse was flooding with water down the walls, from the ceiling and the carpet was absolutely soaked. This was not minor recent leaking, it was apparent this has been going on for quite some time. The same garbage from the night before around the fire pits from s’mores was still there in the morning, and the same popcorn and crumbs from the night before were still sprinkled all over the carpets in the hallways in the morning. Most of the staff we encountered were at least friendly and greeted you as you passed by, but that was really the only thing that still gave it a nice feel. Sadly I think we won’t be back unless things turn around.
