Recently stayed at this hotel and would NEVER book here again. The only good thing about this place is the view, and even that isn’t worth it. First of all, the hotel looks NOTHING like the pictures advertised online. The rooms are outdated, the walls are chipped, and the bathrooms are disgusting. There’s no ventilation fan, leaving the bathroom damp and musty, with what appeared to be mould in multiple areas. The elevators were by far the most concerning part of our stay. Only one was working for most of our visit, and even that one felt unsafe. There was a huge gap between the panels that you could literally see through while riding it, and the ceiling was damaged. Toward the end of our stay, the second elevator finally started working, but its ceiling appeared to be held together with DUCT TAPE. There’s also no restaurant, bar, or food available. The front desk staff were unprofessional and the overall atmosphere felt poorly managed. Our TV remote wasn’t working, and even after someone came to “fix” it, it stopped working again the second he left. Another uncomfortable feature was the frosted glass separating the shower from the bedroom. You could still see someone’s silhouette while they showered, offering very little privacy. For a hotel in such a prime NYC location, the lack of maintenance and basic hospitality is unacceptable. It’s clear they’re relying on the location and views rather than the actual quality of the hotel. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere. The pictures online are incredibly misleading, and this place is absolutely not worth your money.

I don’t know what’s more depressing—this sad, sad excuse of a hotel or the fact that I paid $400 night at this catfishing, bait & switch hotel for a family/birthday/anniversary trip Oct, 2026😞 This is NOT a budget hotel price like previous reviews said they got. Believe all the negative reviews…I read them and still knowingly booked because at $400 night—this WAS the going price for a BUDGET hotel in NYC/Manhattan…this is US Corporate MAFIA at its finest! Gawd, I wish I was a class action lawyer! The hotel corporate pictures are 100% a LIE!!!! That fun, beautiful lobby bar?? CLOSED! Lobby?? DARK, DESERTED and DEPRESSING! Rooms?? DIRTY and DEPRESSING!! I probably should’ve cleared all my cookies when booking because I definitely got surge priced for every hotel in Manhattan at time of booking—and this was the cheapest!! The Reviews are all correct, but the VIEW isn’t worth the depressing state of the room and lobby—DON’T DO IT!!!!!!!!!! When we arrived, the lobby was dark and deserted with the exception of a lovely front desk attendant and a sad, depressing water cooler where guests would fill their personal water bottles or take hot water up to their rooms to make tea that they either bought or brought…for $400 night, there are no in-room amenities except a fridge…I won’t go into how dirty and depressing the rooms are except for the fact that I cleaned the disgusting black mold and awful dirt and grime from the shower before using it because I wasn’t going to use it otherwise!! The lovely room attendants would try to “clean” our room at 9:30am each morning (my husband noticed that he never, ever heard a vacuum in other rooms the entire time we were there). If you want to spend your trip dreading going back to your room for a little break between sightseeing and events, go ahead and book this place—especially at $400 night!! The NYC hotel industry is insidiously nefarious and is just getting worse—they are the new MAFIA thanks to corporate greed and private equity 😞 Just 11 months ago we stayed at a beautiful boutique hotel around the corner from this dump for $300 night—now that same hotel wanted over $600 night—less than one year later!!! Corporate greed and surge pricing at its finest!! I still can’t believe I paid $400 night for this SHITE-hole!!
We just wrapped up our stay here, and really enjoyed our experience overall! The front desk staff was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, and we were upgraded to a room on the 22nd floor without asking for my husband’s birthday, which was an amazing surprise. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the view of the WTC was beyond breathtaking. The cleaning staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. We would love to stay here again in the future!
This hotel is okay, served me well for 5 nights recently. The interior of the hotel is incredibly dark but the 5th floor lobby area has an amazing outdoor balcony with views of WTC plaza area. The rooms are overall nice, larger than most NYC hotel rooms, daily housekeeping service was done well. The window opens up just the slightest bit for fresh air, which is a huge plus for me in any hotel these days. I was there during a bit of a heat wave and A/C was ice cold and relatively quiet. Was a little nervous about cleanliness after reading other reviews but I was quite pleased - the rooms and hotel really just need some TLC and attention to detail. For example, bathroom surfaces were sparkling clean with the exception of grubby caulking that just needs to be redone and grout that needs a good cleaning or redoing. The bathroom outlet was punched into the wall a bit which made it hard to plug things in. There was a small rip in my bed sheets which were otherwise pristine white and well-made. Mattress and pillows were comfy. No coffee maker in room is also a huge bummer. Even a Keurig would do! Small quirks with the elevator and only one from the ground floor to lobby (5th floor) seemed to be operational. I was there mostly during the week so I was often the only one on the elevator so this didn't impact me too much. Staff were friendly even if they seemed bored during the times I passed by the front desk; check-in was easy. I've stayed in other hotels in the area that were a bit nicer but tried this hotel because it was the best deal at the time of booking. Really excellent location with (in addition to WTC and 9/11 memorials) easy access to multiple subway lines, Hudson River Greenway, Battery Park, ferry landings, gorgeous views of the Hudson and NJ across the way.
The location and view is great, but the room was awful! Everything is hanging on by a thread waiting to break. They purposefully left everything near to breaking to charge the customers so they wouldn’t have to waste money on maintenance. The towel holder, toliet paper holder, and faucet were all loose and coming off. The hotel was dirty, needed a new paint job and just very underwhelming for the price I paid. I expected it to be just a normal hotel nice for a small trip but it’s dirty in many areas and everything is near to broken or already broken. I only recommend this hotel if you want a quick place to stay and just want a nice view and if you don’t mind some dirt and dirty walls. The front desk was also very rude and loud when speaking. The lights in the lobby were cool though! My bed sheets also had disgusting stains!!!
