Room was extremely outdated and building needs a lot of work. Lobby as well as hallways are very well maintained and very extravagant and antique looking with many pictures of historic New York. However, the rooms definitely are antique with multiple carpet stains. I did not have any hand soap in my room and also the room was showing signs of wear and tear and in need of repair. Also, there were pubic hairs in my shower and stains in my shower from a previous guest, as well as a poorly maintained shower, which did not seem to be appeared clean before my stay. However, the front desk was very kind. I did not bring up this issue to them as I did not want to create a scene.

I needed to visit Syracuse for business and stayed at this Marriott. Since my business in town involved meetings, I also reserved a conference room on the 10th floor. The staff here was very helpful, accommodating, and easy to work with when booking the conference room. They were equally helpful when I arrived and needed access. The room had a TV in it as well as a large table and it was comfortable for the all day meeting we had. Regarding my staff, checking in was great. The folks at the front desk were friendly and helpful. They have an M Club here, which I visited a couple of times. I wanted bottled water, which they don’t have in the M Club, rather you need to get it from the front desk. They use water refilling stations in the M Club, which I hate when staying in a hotel, I’d rather have the bottled water in the fridge in my room, so I’m glad they were able to accommodate me on this. The guy working the M Club both times I visited (in the evenings) was great, friendly too! The hotel itself is BEAUTIFUL! Honestly, I stay in hotels weekly and I’m pretty much done with the typical design of the average Marriott and this one breaks that mold! It’s historic, beautifully renovated, perfectly operational, and centrally located. My room was very nice! They upgraded me to a suite and when they told me this during check in, I wasn’t too impressed, as I hear that I’m “upgraded” all the time, but when I get to the room, they look typical. This room was HUGE! It had a living room, two king size bedrooms, and two full baths in it. The living room had a nice desk and plenty of seating for a family. There were also 3 TVs in this room. Bathrooms in the rooms were beautifully renovated to have a period look and they worked nicely. Housekeeping even did a nice job keeping everything polished in this room. Overall, I really enjoyed this stay. I’d most definitely return here in the future!
The staff serves with joy and professionalism. Other than the food service is a bit spotty, one day it took an hour and a half to get our order, not busy and no explanation why. Rooms are spacious and lovely. Highly recommend this hotel.
This place was our life saver. We were in the area for my nephew H.S. Graduation. We had an incident with our original booking at another hotel. We were not having luck getting another hotel and when we reached out to the Marriott it was as our luck changed. I spoke with Ms. Kasaan. She made sure that we had a room. She helped us every step of the way. She was so accommodating. Kasaan was so humble and understood what we were going through and rest assured we would be taken care of. Every staff member we encountered was simply amazing. The restaurant and pub was nice. The food was great. We had an amazing time. This will be our home every time we come out here. Please come and try this hotel and you will see I'm not joking about this place. Everything and everyone was heaven sent.
I come several times per year, the hotel is fine and usually the staff is overly accommodating. This morning at 4:30AM I meet the one service member that was anything but accommodating while trying to get my rental car keys from the front desk. The valet was nice enough to put the vehicle out front the prior evening since we had such an early departure. From experience I know the few keys for those cars that are left out front are at the desk. I did not have my claim ticket (100% my fault) and had my handicapped mother-in-law waiting at the front door so that we could catch our flight. The only man at the desk began to tell me that his computer system was updating and it could take 2 hours and said there was nothing he could do. I explained that I can’t wait, I have a flight, an elderly woman in a wheelchair downstairs , and that I’ve been through this before, that there are only a few keys at the desk for those vehicles, and described the car in detail. After a bit of banter with this horrible employee, he again was rude and unhelpful and actually told me that he didn’t HAVE to do anything for me. After a bit more back and forth, he literally reaches over 6 inches with his right hand where the few keys were kept for those vehicles and gives me my keys. I am really shocked at how this one individual could be so unhelpful. Good hotel, mostly great staff, but 1 bad apple can certainly ruin the bunch. Not a great way to treat your Ambassador Elite patrons. Will stay somewhere else from now on.
