The room did not have enough plugs for stuff. Very noisy as we got balcony room facing highway. The room esthetics was amazing. We arrived when they had an event. Parking was a problem. They need to have parking separate for guests. I also left a message with the front desk. As we were overcharged, sixty dollars for 2 sandwiches. That's not what the menu said. And I still have yet to get a call back. Customer service is poor. Also we ate breakfast and the weird was more concerned about setting up for an event and took him twenty minutes to even give us coffee. Its like a ghost town in restaurant. I would say to not stay here in my opinion based on needs. The elevator also smelled like rotten feet.

Hotel Nyack never disappoints! We have stayed here numerous times, and every visit is just as enjoyable as the last. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a stylish, sleek atmosphere that feels modern, welcoming, and unique. Even the aroma throughout the hotel adds to the overall experience and makes it feel special. The rooms are amazing—beautifully designed, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. The staff is always pleasant, friendly, and accommodating, which makes each stay even more enjoyable. The bar and pool area are wonderful attractions, providing a great place to relax and unwind, and having a restaurant right on the premises is another added convenience. We always look forward to returning to Hotel Nyack. It has become one of our favorite places to stay, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish hotel with great amenities and a memorable experience.
I would not stay at this hotel again. The hotel charges mandatory extra fees for amenities like the pool, fitness center, and other facilities, whether you use them or not. What makes this even more frustrating is that, due to my health condition, I do not use either the pool or the fitness center at all. On top of that, I arrived on a rainy day, so using the outdoor pool wasn’t even possible. Yet I was still required to pay these mandatory fees. Charging guests for amenities they cannot or do not use is simply unfair. Check-in is not until 4:00 PM. If you need your room any earlier, you have to pay another $25. After already paying for the room and mandatory fees, this feels like nothing more than another way to charge guests extra. The most shocking part was the lobby service. In most decent hotels, complimentary coffee and tea are available throughout the day with free refills. Here, even a simple cup of tea costs $6. Charging guests for such a basic courtesy is honestly outrageous. And then there is the décor. A carpet with a giant skull design? Seriously? I found it completely inappropriate and unwelcoming for a hotel. Instead of creating a relaxing atmosphere, it felt bizarre and off-putting. To make matters worse, my check-in date happened to be my birthday. If the staff paid even a little attention to their guests, they would have noticed it. Instead, there was absolutely no acknowledgment—not even a simple “Happy Birthday.” Complete indifference. It perfectly reflects the overall attitude toward guests. Overall, the hotel seems much more focused on collecting mandatory fees than providing genuine hospitality. Between the hidden mandatory charges, expensive basic amenities, indifferent service, and strange décor choices, I left feeling nickel-and-dimed and genuinely disappointed. I would not recommend staying here.
Baffling design choices and an unsettling ambiance hold back what could be a perfectly pleasant hotel experience. The rooms: The rooms are relatively clean, but leave a lot to be desired in terms of both design and execution. The first thing you'll spot when you enter the room is the high ceilings. Rather than feeling airy and inviting, these feel industrial and cold, with exposed I-beams and ventilation shafts. There's no storage anywhere in the room—no dresser, the nightstand is a single shelf, and the small shelf under the TV was not anchored properly and was too small to put anything on anyways. The chairs were small and uninviting. The acoustics were poor within the room because of the plain walls, high ceilings, and lack of soft furnishings. Across the room, some of the furnishings were worn or stained—the curtains were stained, while the lamp had a stain on it and one of the sconces was falling apart. The room overall felt poorly taken care of. The bathroom feels especially bizarre. It's subdivided, with a trash can by the toilet but not by the sink. There were also splatters on the bottom row of tiles next to the toilet, indicating a subpar cleaning job. The towels had a rough texture. Our balcony had a nice view of the river beyond the highway, but otherwise felt cheap. The railing was made of cheap material and was joined together with unfinished edges. There was also a gutter directly below the balcony with trash accumulating in it. The dividers between the balconies were made of a tarp-like cloth stretched between metal rails. These flimsy barriers did nothing to stop sound from traveling. The balcony furniture consisted of two small, plain metal chairs and a tiny ottoman—hardly a luxurious or comfortable feel for the space. The design elements overall felt cheap, much like the towels: the headboard of the bed was made of particle board, the unfinished edge of which was exposed. The nightstand shelves were made of formica, the edges of which were chipping. The tile in the bathroom resembled a gym locker room, rather than a nice residential bathroom. The room also lacked some useful amenities. There was no water or coffee provided within the room, and instead there was a paid minibar. The minibar also took up the entire fridge, meaning the fridge was off-limits. Instead of a microwave, there was a safe. The bathroom door was sliding, so while the bathroom door was open, the minibar/safe area was closed off and vice versa. Across the hotel, some elements of the design feel unsettling, rather than cozy or inviting. Within the room, this includes a bed located in the middle of the room, the aforementioned really high industrial-style ceilings, and the prominent skull pattern on the rug. The room decor is incohesive and feels as if it was pulled together at random: teal ombre curtains, the industrial metal desk, a single zebra-print chair, and one wall covered in rorshach-test patterned wallpaper. That same wallpaper lines the entire hallway and is accompanied by bright-red carpet. It's both ugly and unsettling (see attached photo). Nickel-and-diming was pervasive through the hotel. The paid minibar rather than complementary snacks is one example. The hotel website promised complementary breakfast, but this was especially disappointing. The breakfast area was a single table (pictured) which featured coffee, a small handful of pears and oranges, and a handful of shrink-wrapped pastries, which tasted incredibly greasy. The ingredients for the pastries were also not listed. The disappointing breakfast offerings make no sense, as the hotel has an onsite restaurant (which itself is extremely overpriced—eg, $14 for a mocktail). The pool was also an upcharge which was not listed on the website. Overall, each individual issue appeared minor, but all together it left us dissatisfied at the experience for its price. With scant amenities and a cold, unsettling vibe, we would not choose to stay here again.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Hotel Nyack and would strongly advise others to think twice before staying here. From the moment we arrived, the experience was poor. The elevators and hallways had a strong smell of marijuana, which is completely unacceptable—especially when traveling with a newborn. Things only got worse from there. We ordered food from the hotel restaurant and waited over an hour for it to arrive. When it finally did, it was cold and completely incorrect. Basic service standards were clearly not met. As a parent of a 5-week-old baby, I needed something as simple as a kettle to prepare formula. I went to the front desk and was told they didn’t have one. When I asked the staff member to check, he dismissively told me I was closer to the bar than he was. That level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I ultimately had to leave the hotel and go to Target just to purchase a kettle myself. The most serious issue, however, was the cleanliness of the room. There were ants throughout the living area, bedroom, and both restrooms. To make matters worse, I found ants crawling on my newborn’s crib (that the hotel provided) . At that point, I had no choice but to remove my baby immediately. This is beyond unacceptable and a serious health concern. To add to the frustration, the front desk made multiple incorrect charges to my card while attempting to process credits. This only created more confusion and inconvenience. A 1 night stay and the lady at front desk managed to charge my card to the total of $1048.93 While the hotel did refund the room and food, that is not compensation—that is the bare minimum for services that failed this badly. I also attempted to resolve this through Hyatt Hotels Corporation customer service, but they treated the refund as if it was sufficient resolution. It is not. This stay fell far below any reasonable standard of hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism. I would not stay here again, and I would not recommend it to others.
