Great location near Grand Central Station. Room spacious with very comfortable beds. Good food in bar . However the hotel did not live up to the reputation of Fitzpatrick hotels. Lacking in atmosphere. Reception staff were sitting behind desks, not something you see often, and with the exception of one young man they were not especially enthusiastic in their dealings with us. They were more like clerical staff than front of house representatives . I would have expected a more energetic approach from a 4 star hotel. Concierge staff were helpful and welcoming. If it were not for them the lobby would be a very dull space. I think this hotel may need an energy reboot.

This was my husband's and I first ever trip to NYC. We mainly went to see a Yankees game but spent a weekend in Midtown. Our stay was great. Love the boutique feel to the hotel. The employees were so welcoming and amazing. We kept having an issue with our air conditioner kicking off in middle of night and having to need it rebooted by one of the employees but that was just a minor issue that did not put a damper on our stay. The hotel is centrally located to so many things. Grand Central Station is right across the street which made it easy for us to get to the subway/railroad. Times Square is a 15 minute walk. Central Park, about a 30 minute walk. So many restaurants and stores need by. The hotel is attached to an irish pub which had excellent food. Rooms are on the smaller end compared to the more well known hotel chains but perfect for us for the amount of time we actually spent in our room. Will definitely come back in the future.
My best friend and I had the pleasure of staying at Fitzpatrick Grand Central for my birthday weekend, and it exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to Brandon-who went above and beyond to make our stay even more memorable. He was incredibly courteous and professional on the phone and kindly upgraded our room, welcomed us with champagne and treats which was such a thoughtful touch for the birthday celebration. He definitely made the experience feel even more special. The hotel itself has a unique charm; the aesthetic-warm, elegant, and inviting, created a cozy yet upscale atmosphere. What an exceptional service and a memorable stay. We will gladly return! Thank you so much.
It’s always a challenge when booking a hotel from the UK to know exactly what you’re getting but I’m absolutely delighted with finding the Fitzpatrick Grand Central. The upgrade to a King Suite was very welcome - spacious, quiet and comfortable with a gleaming bathroom with an excellent walk-in shower. The hotel is on only nine floors, which gives it a reassuringly intimate feel with none of the manic bustle of some of the bigger Manhattan hotels. The Wheeltapper bar is excellent (and is open for breakfast) and the live music at the weekend is a hoot. The location is perfect for Grand Central Station and Midtown generally. I really can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and a huge thank you to the front desk staff but Brendan in particular for making this feel like a real home from home.
Highly recommend this place for your stay in New York. We travelled from Ireland and honestly everything was perfect — from the friendly staff and clean rooms to the brilliant location. With Grand Central just down the road, it was so easy to get anywhere we wanted, and many attractions were within walking distance. We travelled with our 9-month-old and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The restaurant next door even provided an Irish baby bowl to accommodate our little one, which was such a thoughtful touch. We would definitely stay here again!
