Canopy By Hilton Ithaca Downtown

Almost 10 years as a Diamond Member I’ve never had an experience as bad as the one I’ve had at this Hilton property. Front desk is very unwelcoming and bothered. Showers were spot cleaned at best. The restaurant took about 10 mins to seat us although there was only one table having dinner at the time. This is a college town and it shows, thank goodness we only spent one night there. Hilton needs to overhaul the entire staff!

Very nice hotel. Good location from a lot of shopping and restaurants. Parking right now (September 2026) is a pain because their main garage is closed so we had to schlep our stuff ~2 1/2 blocks. But still not too bad. Room was fine. Bathroom was fine. All were very clean. Our only complaint, literally, was the "barn door" thing between the room and bathroom, a large sliding door that actually does look kind of cool but is functionally completely worthless. Leaves a large gap so that other people in the room can hear everything going on inside the bathroom. I love my wife but I do NOT need to hear everything she is doing in there. And the reverse is true as well, probably more so since I probably make a lot more noise than she does. I wish the entire Hilton chain would just remove these types of doors altogether. And the breakfast spread was also very nice. Big with lots of variety. Barn door aside, we liked this hotel

Stayed at the Canopy Ithaca and honestly, it rivals the best high-end hotel chains in terms of style, service, and comfort. The lobby immediately sets the tone — gorgeous design with a chic fireplace that makes you want to just sit and hang out. The rooms continue that thoughtful design language: tasteful light wood accents and genuinely smart use of space, nothing feels wasted or cramped. The gym is a standout too — industrial chic aesthetic, and somehow always empty, which is more than I can say for most hotel gyms I’ve used. Food-wise, the Strand Cafe delivers. Get the harvest salad — and they do a great job spotlighting local wines, which was a nice surprise. But what really elevated the stay was the service, especially Tiara, the night manager. She was warm, accommodating, and clearly great at finding creative solutions when you need something. That kind of hospitality is rare and made the whole stay feel effortless. Also huge plus: they’re dog-friendly, which made this an easy choice for us. Highly recommend — stylish, comfortable, and exceptionally well run.

We visited Ithaca with our Dog ....and we were able find quite a few Hotels that were pet friendly. A few things that I didn't think through...this hotel is downtown so traveling with a pet is challenging. Green space is not readily accessible for him to walk. Parking was terrible. You have to park at a garage a few blocks away so going somewhere not walkable is not convenient. Lastly...there is a Pet fee. Not a deal breaker but a consideration as 75$ extra can make it an expensive stay. The Hotel itself is Great....Clean with a nice social bar area in the lobby. The staff were super friendly and even suggested we go to " yappy hour" with our pup. They put together a little gift bag for him with treats and a toy. Wow....I was amazed 👏. Rooms were nice, clean, comfortable with nice amenities like Nespresso. Great Hotel..just some things to consider if staying downtown. Thanks for making our stay great
