Stayed two nights at the Thompson Central Park. Friendly staff accommodated an early check in and bag storage ahead of time. The building has very fast elevators and quiet rooms. Room was in great condition and housekeeping kept it well serviced. The only downside was the shower threshold was sloped away from the shower pan which caused water to pool outside of the shower. Linens were all fresh and in good condition. Relative to other hotels around this price point in NYC, this is one of the better properties.

We had a wonderful stay at the Thompson. When we arrived our room wasn’t quite ready, so they stored our bags for us while we went out for lunch. Our room was ready before the check in time, which was very appreciated after travelling. Check in / check out was seamless, and the hotel surprised us with complimentary prosecco, chocolate covered strawberries and a bowl of fresh fruit for celebrating my birthday. Very thoughtful! Housekeeping left the room spotless everyday, and we never had to call down to the front desk for anything. We booked the Studio King Suite which was perfect for a couple. Very spacious and comfortable. The service was impeccable, and we would be delighted to stay at the Thompson again!
Second stay at this wonderful hotel. The service is responsive and exceptional. I had a couple requests to help our trip run smoothly and those were executed beautifully. Studio King Suite has plenty of space for lounging and sleeping. My Mom-in-law as stayed in the Upper Stories on our last trip, which are nice rooms too, with lounge access. The location is two blocks from Central Park, with great restaurants around and a 10 min walk to the Theater District. This will be our spot in Manhattan.
The Thompson Central Park is a very nice hotel with a great location in Manhattan. We stayed in the Jr suite which worked out great for our family of three. My daughter was able to stay in the sofa bed. The room was very modern and clean. The room size was very large for NYC. My only concern was the breakfast. Mine was complimentary due to the Amex platinum package I booked. However, I would highly advise going somewhere else if you have to self-pay for it. A family of three could easily spend 150 on breakfast.
The front desk was courteous enough to allow me to check in earlier than what was on the reservation without any problem. They do ask that i have to be present in the hotel in order to request early check-in, which I completely understand. Everyone we encountered was super friendly and the interior was clean and maintained. Bed was very comfy, which is a plus. The location was convenient, in close proximity with the subway stations and main tourist attractions. The nearby coffee shops and restaurants were all very delicious. I throughout enjoyed my stay and look forward to staying with them again in the near future.
