We stayed at this hotel thanks to Chase points and felt like we got amazing value! Its rooms are modern, its public spaces relaxed and quiet, its gym really well equipped, and its beds (and pillows!) crazy comfortable. The best thing about this hotel, however, is the staff. Every single person we encountered was warm, accommodating, and professional. A special shout out to Juan, who was the first person to greet us and the last to say goodbye; his enthusiasm and genuine warmth were infectious. The Pendry is lucky to have him!

We stayed at the Pendry and had an exceptional stay. This place has so many details to create a magical experience. The hotel itself is gorgeous, modern and reminded us of Japanese interior design. Our 2.5 year old daughter loved her crib, and the cute little stuffed animals she was given by the front desk. The staff were all so wonderful, kind and helpful. We loved the room design: our bed was extremely comfortable (we slept 12 hours one night due to poor sleep traveling), and the shower has a lovely and moody design + great shower pressure. Oh and I loved the scents of all of the toiletries that were specifically designed for the Pendry. Wonderful turn down service and they were very accommodating to our travel schedule. Zous zous was also super delicious. Couldn’t recommend more!
The average bureaucracy has more warmth than this hotel. When a booking error led to an extra night on our reservation, even though we notified them within 24 hours, and even though we notified them over a month before our reservation, they won't allow a modification without penalty. That's bad enough....... The worst part: I made the grave mistake of believing "one-time courtesy" meant an actual courtesy. Instead, it turned out to be hospitality's version of a mugging: "We're happy to help you shorten your stay...for the price of another night's stay." It takes a rare kind of creativity to market a penalty as a favor. I'm drowning and they throw a life raft with an invoice attached. This hotel loves to speak in the soothing language of "guest experience" until a human situation appears. Then suddenly you're no longer a guest—you're a line item trapped a policy that outranks common sense, reason, and basic goodwill. Especially for a "five-star" hotel. They are prone to one-star judgment, so that'll be the review.
Pendry Manhattan West is an excellent hotel, and this second stay confirmed it for me. I stayed here again with my wife and young daughter, and the experience was notably stronger from the moment we arrived. The bell team was sharp, warm, and eager to help, just as they were on our first visit. The real standout was Suela, the Director of Rooms, who handled our stay with real care and precision. We had been upgraded through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts, but because our daughter needs complete darkness to sleep, we asked to move back into an entry-level room with a better layout for splitting the space. The change was handled seamlessly, and the follow-through was just as impressive. What continues to set this hotel apart is the design. I still think Pendry Manhattan West has the best design (particularly, lighting design) in Manhattan. The aesthetics and soft wood palette give the hotel a calm, polished identity that very few properties get right. Our room was not large, but that was by choice, and it felt more like a compact studio than a standard hotel room, with a great view over Manhattan West Plaza. Bar Pendry is small but beautiful, and a very good spot for a pre-dinner drink. Breakfast was excellent, with standout service and genuinely strong food. Even my daughter, who usually eats quickly and moves on, was fully engaged with her meal. Hudson Yards would not be my first choice for a classic New York stay, but for easy in-and-out access, strong nearby dining, and a refined, comfortable hotel experience, Pendry Manhattan West is a very compelling option.
I had the most incredible stay at the Pendry Manhattan for my birthday weekend, and I truly cannot recommend it enough. From the moment I arrived, the team went out of their way to make the entire experience feel special. Every interaction felt warm, thoughtful, and genuinely personalized, which set the tone for the whole weekend. They even surprised me with a sweet birthday touch in my room, which was such an unexpected and meaningful detail. What really stood out was how attentive they were to the fact that I was in town running a half marathon. They went above and beyond to make sure I felt prepared and taken care of, which meant so much during a busy and exciting weekend. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, with a clean, elevated design that still feels comfortable and welcoming. And the location could not be better, making it easy to get anywhere while still feeling like a relaxing escape. It’s rare to find a place that combines beautiful design, an unbeatable location, and such exceptional, thoughtful service. This stay truly made my birthday weekend unforgettable, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.
