I’m actually writing this review while I’m still staying at Motto, and so far I’ve had such a great experience! The service has been amazing and the staff are some of the best. Everyone is really friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with. One thing I especially love is that you can contact the hotel directly from your phone by texting them whenever you have a question or need something, instead of having to call the front desk. They respond quickly and it makes everything so convenient. The hotel itself is very clean and has a really nice, modern design. The shower pressure is also really good, and I love how easy it is to get the perfect water temperature. The restaurant at the hotel also seems to be really popular. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to try it during this stay, but I definitely want to try it next time! The only small issue I noticed is that the lights in my room sometimes turn off by themselves, which might be some kind of electrical or sensor issue, but honestly it hasn’t been a big deal for me at all. I would also recommend asking for a room on a higher floor if possible. Since you’re in the city, you may hear emergency vehicles driving by during the middle of the night, so being higher up might help with some of the street noise. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my stay here. Great staff, great service, very clean rooms, modern design, and a super convenient location and communication system. I would definitely stay at Motto again the next time I’m in New York!

Best decision on our visit to N.Y! Location is perfect, neighborhood has lots of food options with a whole foods nearby. Not to mention the subway is easily a 3-5 minute walk. We literally took subway straight to the Statue of Liberty ferry. It is also walkable distance from Empire Building. The rooms are limited but have exactly what you need for a full rest- comfy beds, great showers, tv and small fridge. We went out every day so as a family of 4 it was more than we could ask for. - There's a gym on level 4, there you will also find fresh oranges and a water bottle refill station. (Another refill station is in the lobby next to the bar) - 2nd floor is an open lounge area that's nice if you want to get out of your room but not completely go outside to the busy streets of N.Y. - We paid for early check in and glad we did! Our room was ready when we arrived. - Friendly staff, coffee maker upon request only and there is a restaurant, Lulla that we unfortunately did not get a chance to try. You do get 2 complimentary water bottles and $10 daily to use in restaurant. *Make sure you take your room card as you will need it to enter the gym And use the elevator. Reserve your stay before it gets booked!
Located in a great part of Manhattan to enjoy doing touristy stuff while also exploring local culture! Hotel staff were so kind as to hold our bags before our check-in times AND EVEN AFTER our check-out times which allowed us to explore the city without carrying suitcases everywhere! That’s a lovely service that no other hotel has ever offered me. The building also smells very nice! (the picture here is from one of the good view rooms you pay a bit extra for- totally worth it in my opinion!)
We stayed here for the World Cup and I do have to say it was an excellent base. We paid the extra for a high room and wow, waking up every morning with this view was incredible. Watching the fireworks from this high up was even cooler. The gym was decent/well equipped and despite the small size was great for us. The location I thought beforehand would be incredible but to my surprise the walk from Penn station was mostly terrifying. The immediate area of the hotel is great, and it’s so convenient for everywhere I would stay again. But just some warnings, the FIRST thing we saw in NYC arriving to Penn station and walking to the hotel was crazy people throwing cans randomly (fortunately not knocking anyone out) straight outside the station and a slew of very drugged out people shouting/screaming I did find quite shocking that close to the high line and Chelsea. But this is NOT the hotel’s fault at all, just a reality of being close to Penn station (get a taxi or metro, don’t walk!). Other than that, just a small flag that laundry is outrageously expensive (but good quality) and I still can’t wrap my head around the 7 seperate taxes charged every single night which is frankly completely insane (but probably not the hotels doing!). The room is “tiny” for most people’s standards, but similar to London/Paris size, it’s very well laid out with the size you do get and so functional it wasn’t an issue at all. Would stay again saying all that, the view and location really is good.
Motto by Hilton Chelsea is a smart, well-designed hotel that makes excellent use of a small footprint. The rooms are compact, but the hotel delivers exactly what many travelers need: a great location, clean spaces, and thoughtful design. The hotel still feels brand new, and everything was exceptionally clean during my stay. The room itself was small, but the layout made very efficient use of the space. For a solo traveler, it worked very well. Two people could certainly stay here, but it would feel tight, especially with luggage. One of the pleasant surprises was the view, which was much better than I expected. Combined with the modern design, the rooms feel more open than their size suggests. The room includes an empty mini refrigerator, which is always useful, but there is no coffee maker in the room. Complimentary coffee is available in the lobby starting at 6:30 a.m., breakfast service begins at 7:00 a.m., and room service breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. Early risers should plan accordingly. The hotel also offers complimentary bicycles for up to two hours, which is a nice perk and an enjoyable way to explore the neighborhood. Overall, Motto by Hilton Chelsea is an excellent option for travelers who prioritize location, cleanliness, and efficient design over room size. I would happily stay here again, particularly when traveling solo or on a short trip to New York.
