Save yourself the hassles and book somewhere else. We’ve been to New York multiple times and this was the worst hotel experience for us by far. What ruins this hotel is the staff, they seem to lack the meaning of hospitality. On the plus side, the room was clean and the location is convenient. That’s where the pluses end. From wrong directions to the self parking, clogged toilets, noisy Spanish nightclub next door, the burning smell from the air conditioner and denying my daughter the “free” breakfast, this place was a disaster. By the way, the free breakfast has to be served to you by a waiter and is only a piece of toast, yogurt and a piece of fruit. We paid for the breakfast but never bothered with it because they made such a big deal about my daughter even though I showed them their own email confirming her stay. Most hotels just put that type of continental breakfast on a table in the lobby and let you grab that on the way out. What struck us the most is how uptight the staff get if you have a concern or request. Absolutely zero friendliness, it’s a job and that’s it. In comparison, we walked into a random hotel a few blocks away when my son needed to use the bathroom and they treated us like royalty even though we weren’t staying there. We do not recommend this hotel. Plenty of better options in the same price range.

The hotel is modern, but with some funky geometry and layout. Lots of elevators, but sometime a confusing route to your room. Roof top lounge is great for evenings, but needs a reservations, especially on nice evenings. Our pricing was high (our price was 3x a currently shown price), but that was due to limited availability. Service was on point from check in to bellhops. We did some walking or taxi from the hotel for access to midtown, broadway, times square, husdson yard, food, drinks... I also used a city bus (M50 - 49th and 50th streets - each is a 1 way) to access down to broadway/radio city music hall. At first I was 1 of 2 passengers eastbound, but as the M50 is a cross town bus, the second stop filled the bus with a variety of commuters and families going about their every day. Some were only 1 for 1 block. We also walked to the subway using the blue (A,C, or E) and the yellow (NQRW)...but wish these were closer. Subways are by far the fastest way around town and safe by day. We stayed pre cruise, with the Pier 88 Cruise port being at the end of 48th street, very close. We also used a ferry to pier 79 to get us close to/from the hotel from NJ, but with luggage, we used a taxi ($12). Would definately recomend for a pre cruise day or days in NYC, but not so much for access in Midtown..
Clean and spacious rooms with kind staff, who strive to make your trip even more pleasant. Perfectly located for walkability to various attractions. The hotel lobby restaurant is excellent too! Rey is so welcoming, personable and comical! Left us feeling as if we were getting a meal and a show 😂
I have stayed here a few times before and really liked it which is why returned but now it’s in need of an update and a lesson in customer service. Booked months ago and requested a high floor and my request was not met. Lower floors are noisy because of the street noise. If you are a light sleeper beware. The roof top restaurant was not available during my stay due to private parties. It was heavily promoted through emails and even the front desk personnel. When we were finally allowed to take the elevator up, the restaurant manager was very arrogant and he basically wanted to hear from my group as to what our story was and we begged him to spend 5 minutes on a roof top to see the view. He enjoyed the begging. The bar was already closed and it was 10:45, we had our 5 minutes and were rushed out. The ladies I was with just wanted to see the view and take some pics. It was a very disappointing moment. Shower tile is disgusting, I felt like I should have worn shower shoes and there’s mold on the ceiling. Carpet is filthy. Look for the pictures I added. Not worth the aggravation or the price. Try elsewhere.
The hotel was in a good location. It was little further from Broadway that I expected, but it was walkable and quiet. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and we slept good. The service was decent, but I had to request something that housekeeping missed everyday. I don't know if there was a washcloth shortage, but they only left 1 on the first day and none on the second day. The soap in the shower was empty and only refilled when I requested it on day 2. Hand soap was never replaced and no lotion either. Overall, it was a good stay but $45 "resort fee" was annoying especially considering the missing housekeeping supplies.
