Two elevators. No service elevator. Disaster wait times much of the day to go up or down. Gym is ok at best. Small with weights only up to 30lb dumbbells. Cardio equipment good. Room lighting and AC is weird with motion activated lighting and finicky controls. TV is erratic with the media controller acting up often. Location is super. Staff is great.

This is a small boutique hotel in a great area in midtown (Nomad/Flatiron). The rooms are small, but well designed. Comfy beds. Great location. The gym is tiny and a very poor excuse for a gym.
This was my first experience staying with AKA Hotels, and Hotel AKA NoMad was a fantastic introduction to the brand. I stayed in the penthouse, which was beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable and had an absolutely massive private terrace that honestly felt like having your own little piece of Manhattan outside your door. But as impressive as the space was, what really stood out was the service. Everyone I interacted with was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming without ever making anything feel forced. Even having breakfast set up on the terrace one morning turned into one of those simple experiences that you remember long after checking out. The location in NoMad is fantastic, the residential feel makes it very different from a traditional hotel stay, and there’s a real sense that the property is designed for people who want to actually settle in rather than simply have a place to sleep. After my first stay with AKA, I completely understand the appeal of the brand, and I’ll absolutely be looking forward to experiencing more of their properties.
Great stay here overall! From the moment you walk into the hotel it feels luxurious. Location is unbeatable truly. Rooms were a bit underwhelming compared to images online, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
Worst hotel stay I’ve had in NY in a long time. Stayed 2 nights. First night room smelled like mildew/mold. And the AC unit is so loud I had to put a pillow over my head, but eventually shut it off, and then the room got muggy. At 9am the next day I asked for a different room. They said ok and I packed up and pulled my stuff. Came back at 11:30 and they said room wasn’t available yet. I said no problem, I was off to a Mets game and would get the room at 6pm. Come back at 6 and they give me the keys to another room and I go up and the room hasn’t been cleaned. Go back down to tell them and they say no staff available to clean room so manager will clean room. I get a call at 8:30 while I’m at dinner that my room is ready and I get my room at 10pm when I get back. The new room is clean but the bed is the creakiest bed I’ve ever been in and I’m sharing the bed with my son. They have no other rooms available. All night every time one of us moved there was a loud creak and we would wake each other up. Today I’m exhausted after two shitty nights. They offered to take $45 a night off my room bill for the inconvenience. That is pathetic. I didn’t have my room for 10 hours yesterday and they offered me a beer at the bar for my troubles. DO NOT STAY HERE. Also, the elevators are small and slow. The TV didn’t work well and the bathroom was very dark and the floors were slippery. Ps - management did contact me and give me a discount, which was the right thing to do on their part, but it doesn’t get me my weekend back. Nothing worse than being exhausted on vacation because you can’t sleep due to room conditions.
