Such a fantastic experience. Neeha was a wonderful host. Facilities were incredibly clean and the cooking class was superb. I will be returning! The market walk was a real treat too. Overall, we had a fantastic day and I feel confident cooking a few new dishes.

Excellent experience overall. The website paints the picture accurately on the options, length of the class, fees, etc. There were three people in my session and it was a very homey vibe. The item I want to highlight most is that the host, Neha, can be flexible and customize the experience to your preferences. Two of the recipes I learned were not part of the regular class. Deep knowledge from the host means you will learn new things if you’re at all interested in cooking North Indian dishes.
This is an absolute MUST in Delhi! If you think you know how to cook Indian food, you haven’t met Neha. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or have never cooked in your life, you are in incredibly good hands. Neha has such a calm, confident presence that immediately puts you at ease. For first-timers especially, she is incredibly reassuring — nothing feels intimidating or beyond you. Her personal attention, expertise and — ummm… appreciation of spice levels 😳🌶️ — were absolutely amazing. This isn’t one of those “Okay, this’ll be fun…” activities you squeeze into your itinerary. Plan your day around it. This is a magnificent culinary adventure. You’ll challenge your skills, challenge your palate, learn what authentic Indian cooking really means, and discover just how much goes into creating these dishes truly from scratch. And the best part? At the end, you sit down knowing you actually cooked it — and then get to enjoy every mouthful. We left full, proud and slightly humbled by just how much work, skill and love goes into making Indian cuisine from scratch. No jar off the Woolies shelf here! 😂 We walked away with an entirely new appreciation for Indian food — and for the people who create it properly. Special thanks again to Neha. We loved every moment. An unforgettable Delhi experience. Do not miss it. 🌶️🇮🇳❤️
I have always wanted to learn more about Indian food and I am so pleased that I found Saffron Palate. This was time well spent in India’s capital, being taught by Neha who is welcoming, knowledgeable and generous with her time. Prior to the session Neha was proactive in finding out what I wanted to cook, what my preferences are and offering a range of dishes from her menu. I was happy to go with anything and Neha picked a really good range of dishes so that we could look at a variety of skills. We cooked a chicken korma, a chickpea dal, vegetable pilau rice, a potato dish and 3 kinds of bread. All were delicious. The kitchen was well organised. To learn how to use spices was important and her smoking technique took the flavours to another level. Neha provided a wonderful cook book to take away and the confidence for me to do this back at home. Thank you Neha. I loved my lesson with you.
It was a fantastic day spent cooking and learning about the food and culture of the area. Couldn’t recommend recommend highly enough.
This was one of our travel highlights! Neha was an amazing teacher and wonderfully warm. We felt very privileged to be learning and enjoying beautiful food in her home. Her cooking studio is very well set out. Instructions are clear. Eating together was such a treat and meeting her gorgeous dog was a bonus! The walking tour of the market taught us more about spices and Neha clearly loves food and people.
I had a wonderful couple of hours learning to cook some awesome dishes. It was so much fun, and I learnt a lot of new skills too. The market tour was so interesting.
We had a wonderful experience with Neha’s cooking class. She took a lot of care to explain everything and the food was delicious! A lot of detail went into her class to make sure we were well prepared. We also loved the spice market tour - it was great to buy the spices we used to cook. Many thanks to Neha for her warm hospitality
Very friendly welcome from our host. The demonstration was very interesting and informative. The resulting meal was delicious. The cooking techniques, oils and spices used were described and will be transferred to our efforts back in the UK. We were given a small book with recipes which will be very useful. Following our meal we were escorted to the local market where we could see the various ingredients for sale at first hand. Well worth a visit.
Such a great experience with lovely people to learn how to cook the typical plate from India. Kitchen is amazing. Thank you so much !
Great teaching, amazing food and a unique way to experience Indian cuisine, this cooking class was awesome! Neha is a wonderful, friendly teacher with deep knowledge and skill. The food we got to make, her knowledge of the ingredients and the techniques she shared made sure our Indian cooking is going to be next level. I highly recommend doing a course with Neha if you’re just stopping into Delhi, are part of a longer visit, or even a long term resident, good food made simply is something to benefit from.
Wow! What a fantastic experience from start to finish. If you want to experience the best of Indian cuisine, why not learn how to make it yourself? The cooking experience with Neha not only gave us the opportunity to taste delicious local food, we now have the ability to make it at home. Of course, we will miss Neha's fantastic instruction, but it's a start! The class itself is very well structured, we were paired two to a cooking station and each given pre-portioned trays with all of our ingredients neatly laid out. She then walked us through each dish, ensuring we were all keeping up with proper timing and cooking instructions. She also accommodated the vegetarians we had in the group. By the end of the class, we all sat down and enjoyed the delicious meal we had prepared for ourselves, and then headed off to the market to see how locals shop and buy some fresh ingredients for our home. I highly recommend this activity for anyone in Delhi, whether you are a local or a tourist. We will certainly be back.
We had such an amazing time at Saffron Palate! Neha was so hospitable and took great photos of us. The butter chicken recipe was my absolute favorite, best I had in Delhi! Neha was even kind enough to hold our luggage on our last day since our flight was late at night, and her driver even provides us with a drop off nearby. The house and kitchen is beautiful with a gorgeous patio. Also, her dog is adorable! We would definitely return next time we visit Delhi.
Excellent lesson in local cuisine set on a beautiful rooftop terrace. Neha is a fantastic cook who is warm & welcoming & makes you feel at ease. We made 3 types of bread, Bombay potato’s and a chicken curry, which we ate afterwards and it was absolutely delicious. Afterwards Neha took us to a local market where we were able to purchase some local spices. Than you do much Loved this experience I will definitely be visiting again
The class was amazing! We started off with a guided tour over the market to buy some missing ingredients which was a brilliant experience in itself. Afterwards we made 3 dishes and prepared 3 types of bread, Neha is a wonderful teacher who keeps an eye on everyone’s progress and helps where needed. We felt very welcome in her home and kitchen!
Nena was a consummate professional and a very enjoyable person. She graciously opened her home to the four of us and was interested in who we were. Her class was organized and informative with hands-on steps along the way. She had a gorgeous dining room where we ate the fruits of our labor then walked us through the somewhat chaotic market energy though it was late and almost about to close. It was a very enjoyable experience and we would highly recommend it to those looking for a unique and authentic Delhi experience.
An evening spent with Neha is delicious! Wonderful experience. Spending an evening cooking in her lovely penthouse is great and she is instantly likable
A fantastic day, learning so much about Indian cooking and spices. The visit to the spice market was a highlight. We joined three others which added to the fun. Everything was well set out and explained clearly. Couldn’t believe I was making breads and roti, so easy. Eating what we had prepared with a local beer was a wonderful way to end our time. Neha was an excellent, knowledgeable and friendly hostess. Would definitely recommend and would do it again.
Excellent service! Very friendly! She is a great teacher and will provide timely corrections if you’re going of course in your cooking. Highly recommend
Lovely evening. Great experience shopping at the market for the spices. Relaxed cookery session with lots of practical advise on Indian cookery. Very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend.
Neha was absolutely amazing! We can’t say enough positive things about her. Her passion for cooking shows and her past experience as a trainer is a great asset. My husband and I had a private class that was one of the best highlights to India. We have taken many cooking classes and hers was literally the best for learning the native cuisine and enjoying the meal like we were eating with a long term friend. Thank you Neha, we look forward to making the recipes when we get home! And thank you for the great little cookbook!!
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish and we couldn’t recommend it enough! With Neha, we created 3 amazing vegan Indian dishes + bread. The setting was beautiful, the instructions clear and adaptable depending on how much spice/dietary requirements etc and we never felt rushed. We opted to take part in a market tour also which was interesting. Neha told us lots of information about different spices and foods used here in Northern India. If we are ever back in Delhi we would love to take part in another cooking class at Saffron Palate :)
An excellent cooking class with Neha who is very kind and helpful. We did 3 different dishes and 3 breads before heading to the spice market for shopping. I’ve learned a lot and can’t wait to try the recipes at home!
What a great evening, learning more about what goes into Indian food, preparation and then cooking it. It was a top experience and really recommend if you want insight on how to cook Indian.
We signed up for an Indian cooking experience given a recommendation from our local travel agent. We weren’t sure what to expect but pleasantly surprised to be invited to the home of Neha who welcomed us! The backdrop of her terrace flat was beautiful. She took the time to get to know us then fit a menu in our timeline. We cooked traditional butter chicken, aloo masala and 3 types of bread. We each had a role and it felt like we were like family. She demystified the ingredients for our friend who are not Indian and made the hands- on class engaging. We enjoyed the meal together in a traditional thali plate overlooking her garden. Her hospitality and home cooked feeling of the dishes is a treasured memory and one of the highlights of our trip. We didn’t get to experience the spice market due to our schedule unfortunately. Thanks Neha!
The best cooking course ever! Neha is supperattentive and kind and we got a lot of insights on indian cooking and the origins of the plates, plus a fantastic guided visit to a neighborhood market. Simply unforgettable!
We had great fun in Neha's cooking class plus we learned so much about Indian cooking and spices. The market visit was an additional bonus. So glad we had this experience and definitely recommend. Thanks Neha.
We had a lot of fun Very good teaching. Interesting recipes and discovery of the Indian spices Really a good experience that we recommend
I was beyond satisfied with my cooking class experience. Neha is a wonderful teacher and we had some great conversations. She made the process effortless and makes things accessible for cooks at various skill levels. This was a special experience and an unforgettable part of our trip to Delhi. If you are into experiential activities while traveling, this is a must do!
We had a lovely time learning to cook delicious butter chicken, spiced roast potatoes, roti and parathas. The walk through the market was great. Neha was fantastic, very warm and obviously a great cook. Would highly recommend!
Such a wonderful experience taking the Spice Knight Market Walk with Indian Food class! The welcome from Neha was really warm and genuine. We had time to talk, get ready and start cooking! She was patient, informative, and so well prepared. The food that I cooked under her tuition was superb! (I would never normally say that about my own cooking!!). We made 3 dishes, plus breads. She explained everything carefully, but allowed me to try things and explained in careful detail what we were doing and why. The market tour was equally excellent. She helped me to buy my own spices to take home, and was really informative. It was genuinely like shopping with a new friend!! I can't recommend this experience highly enough - please try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
We signed up for the Spice Knight - which is the combination of the walkthrough of an Indian market (INA Market) and a cooking class at Neha’s home. The walkthrough of the market was super informative and Neha is very knowledgeable about the ingredients, spices and the local culture. The cooking class was really well organized and put together where we focused on both the techniques and the know-how of the dishes for home cooking. The instructions made if very easy to follow along and also understand which spices were being used and why. Highly recommend this cooking class if you are looking to immerse into Indian food and explore the local culture.
This was an awesome experience! Neha is a very welcoming host, and she is very knowledgeable when it comes to Indian cuisine and traveling in Delhi! She was extremely kind, and she gave us great recommendations for places to visit, shop, and tour around. I would highly recommend this experience, especially at the beginning of your trip to Delhi - although any time you go will be worth it! She was fun to cook with and she made great conversation! She also helped us find the spices and gifts we were looking for at the local market. You won’t regret choosing to spend an afternooon with Saffron Palate :)
I had a wonderful time, from the tour through the market with the explanations about the various vegetables and spices, to cooking some delicious dishes following Neha’s excellent advice. Highly recommend this to anyone interested in learning about Indian food and cooking.
The cooking class and market visit with Neha was a great learning experience and delicious to eat. Even my 10 year old granddaughter participated and enjoyed. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful day. As self-professed foodies, were impressed with the quality of the food! Neha’s easy-going nature was definitely a highlight too! We loved it!
Neha showed us different spices at the market and answered all our questions about Indian food and culture. She has been hosting people from different countries for over 10 years so she has excellent understanding between different cultures and takes good balance of each one. The vibe of the class is warming, cozy and with small size which let you ask as many question as you want. She and her family has good taste at the place where you get to feel like you are in a small gallery or boutique, in a rather quiet area of New Delhi which is very different compare to the chaos in old Delhi. The food we made was not difficult but very tasty. As the menu changes every 2 weeks I would like to do another class with her next time I visit Delhi!
Had the best time learning how to cook some yummy Indian food! Very accommodating to me, even when I made such a last minute reservation! Had an awesome time and strongly recommend this experience to everyone visiting Delhi
Neha was wonderful! We took a walk through a local market before going to her home to make traditional breads and a curry. Very relaxed and knowledgeable experience. Would definitely recommend!
My daughter and I attended the cooking class and market walk. They were both excellent! It was our first day in India and it set us off to the perfect start. The venue was charming, the equipment first rate and Neha’s teaching clear and instructive. We made the best Indian food ever and enjoyed our post class lunch very much. We cannot recommend Saffron Palate too highly. It was awesome.
We had a very good experience cooking at Saffron palate! We prepared a lighter homemade version of butter chicken, a vegetarian dish with chickpeas and paneer, potatoes with masala and different types of breads (dough already pre-prepared by Saffron Palate) and afterwards had a nice lunch.
Off season; just my wife and I for a private class. Suited us perfectly. Peeled back the layer of mystique around Indian food and took out the fear factor of trying at home. All questions answered. PS: cold kingfisher was a nice surprise with our meal.
I thought the concept will be different, that we will buy fresh ingredients in the market and then will cook. But it was cooking and then a short walk around the market. I would expect more cleaness and fresher ingridients (some of them were wizen). So honestly I think it was a bit overpriced experience.
I take local cooking classes whenever I travel and my experience with Neha was excellent. She made preparing each dish simple. Her directions were very thorough and given it was a small group we all got personalized attention. I finished the class feeling confident I could replicate the meals at home. We concluded the experience with a walk through a local market where we were able to buy all the spices we needed. This is a "not to be missed" activity when you are in Delhi.
Great Experience very professional, mega lot of information given. Great knowledge of local habits and culture
This was my first travel cooking class, and a great introduction! Neha's instruction was thorough, patient, and very helpful. I consider myself a decent amateur Indian cook, but the class significantly improved my technique, and added to my recipe collection. Everything was delicious, and Neha made it all quite easy to learn, including Indian flatbreads which I'd been wanting to try but not bold enough to attempt on my own from a recipe book. Though she had a bit of a schedule conflict, Neha was able to send me to the market with her delightful mother. The whole experience was well worth it!
My wife and I really enjoyed our cooking class with Neha. She was a very good instructor, who taught us how to prepare some of our favorite Indian dishes (vegan style) and new ones. Neha is also a kind and gracious host, who makes you feel very welcomed in her home and kitchen. I highly recommend taking her cooking class!
We had a great time with Neha. We meet up with her in her own house which was very easy to find and super close to the metro station. The course took around 3 hours and we made three dishes plus bread. We learned a lot regarding Indian food, their cooking style and but also about Indian life . Which being in India for the first time, I had so many questions. Neha is a great host. Unfortunately my husband had an upset stomach from the night’s dinner before, so she offered comfort for him and spoiled him with ginger tea. Therefore, I had Neha all to myself. Due to my husband being unwell, she then offered to meet up the next day to the market so my husband would feel better. Which was very kind of her. The market was great and we bought so many spices and more food which we would have never before such as cakes. Now we are cooking together curry and think of her and out great time in India.
Neha is an excellent instructor, both for the cooking and providing general information about Indian food. We had a great time and learned a lot. :)
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening with Neha. We met at the markets where she guided us around the spice and veg stalls then went to her lovely studio to cook. The recipes were so quick, simple and absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to try them when I get home. Thank you Neha for a wonderful evening. Lx
