Itinerary
Begin near the Red Fort and step into Shahjahanabad, the historic Mughal city now known as Old Delhi and discover Chandni Chowk’s unmatched diversity — a 1.5km stretch where Hindu temples, Jain temples, mosques, churches, and Sikh gurudwaras stand side by side. This isn’t just a walk, it’s a deep dive into the spiritual and cultural fabric of Mughal-era Delhi that continues to thrive today.
Stop at a historic shop dating back to 1890 to taste freshly prepared samosa and jalebi, two much-loved Old Delhi classics. The tasting is optional for guests who prefer not to eat.
Visit one of Delhi’s most important Sikh gurudwaras and step inside its community kitchen, or langar. See how volunteers prepare and serve free meals to people from all backgrounds, and learn about the Sikh traditions of service, equality and community.
We stop at one of Delhi’s most photogenic and peaceful spots — a vibrant Jain temple that offers a moment of calm amid the chaos. Intricate carvings, spiritual energy, and postcard-perfect architecture make this a favourite for both reflection and reels.
Hop aboard a tuk tuk time machine and ride through the beating heart of Old Delhi. We weave through centuries-old lanes where the smell of frying samosas mingles with the sound of temple bells and azaan. Every alley here holds a story — and we’re here to tell them.
Step into the aromatic chaos of Asia’s largest spice market and do spice tasting. Learn about the historical spice trade routes of medieval India and how this buzzing bazaar still dominates Delhi’s wholesale economy. From turmeric to dried rose petals — every turn is a sensory overload.
End your walk at Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest and most beautiful mosques. A masterpiece of Mughal architecture in red sandstone and white marble, it’s not just a monument — it’s a living symbol of Old Delhi’s soul, surrounded by bazaars and stories still unfolding.

The tour was beyond our expectations and felt like a real anthropological experience. Our guide was very professional, knowledgeable, patient, and caring. He answered all our questions and shared so much interesting information with us. Everything was exactly as arranged, including the pickup from our hotel and the return. We really connected with our guide and felt that this was exactly the kind of experience we were looking for. We learned a lot and truly enjoyed the tour. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful experience exploring Old Delhi. Anas was an excellent guide who brought the city’s history, culture, architecture, and hidden stories to life. His knowledge as an anthropologist and his engaging storytelling made the experience truly special. We explored the fascinating lanes of Old Delhi and discovered hidden gems beyond the usual tourist attractions. The walk was insightful, engaging, and a wonderful way to understand the city through the eyes of someone who truly belongs to it. If you want to experience the real Delhi and discover its stories, culture, and heritage, I highly recommend Unzip Delhi. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
Rithvik was very flexible and agreed to meet us at our hotel and then booked an Uber for us all to travel to Old Delhi to start the tour. He was very knowledgeable and personable and focussed on the things we wanted to see such as the spice market. Great tour, we really enjoyed it
Wonderful. Rithvik was on time. We took in an easy trip with judicious use of rickshaw. Has a taste of lip smacking alu paratha. Also spent time at Jama Masjid ( grand) and spice bazar and a quaint Jain temple. Rithvik was fluent and knowledgeable. He took good care and dropped us back to the metro station. All in all it was different and enjoyable…
We had a great tour of old delhi. Anas was a very knowledgeable guide with plenty of interesting stories and information. He carefully shepherded ua through the market, we would recommend this tour for an authentic experience of old delhi.
Our guide shared history and cultural context in a warm and friendly way. We especially enjoyed visiting the Jain temple.
A really wonderful tour - our guide was very informative and helpful. A must do on your travels
A really beautiful experience. I've lived in Delhi, visited these lanes but never knew the story behind them. Thanks for sharing 😊
Excellent, I have attended Anas's walks earlier as well. His knowledge on facts is just brilliant. Very intriguing, keeps you asking for morem
Lovedddd the tour, it was very insightful and enjoyable! Got to learn a lot about Old Delhi, and its rich history, culture and food!
This is actually more than a heritage walk. The amount of knowledge Anas khan, the host hold is unbeatable. First I thought he will only take us to lanes, but he described the historic stories behind every area. We were lucky enough to get the favourite kheer of Madhubala, All thanks to Anas khan. Thanks for the mesmerizing sunday.
Anas crafted the beautiful story of Shahjahanabad, where he seamlessly connected the 17th century to modern days. We ended our journey standing inside Mirza Ghalib's house and enjoying Madhubala's hot kheer. Loved the journey.
Amazing experience walking through the bylanes of Old Delhi to find the beauty hidden in the chaos. History, poetry and storytelling, all rolled in one walk on a Sunday morning.
Very nice experience and really informative. Would love to visit again. Perfect for solo travel as well. Information provided was very in deep.
Good one the guide has thoroughly knowledge. Great tour, good communication skills of host and i will definitely recommend it.
It was very informational. These things are not something you would get to know if you come visit the city by yourself. You need someone who's from there, to tell you stories that these walls hold.
Great experience! Love that u went out of your way for the kheer. Was informative and fun, perfect winter walk. Will definitely come again
Anas is very good with words and has a great way explaining his walks. He mixes knowledge with easy charm and humor. Highly recommended.
He’s not just extraordinarily well-read about Delhi and its history, he’s also a captivating story teller who kept us engaged for hours. Can’t recommend a better way to discover (or rediscover) Delhi.
These are not standard tours. These are story sessions. What they lack in structure they make up for in whimsy and rustic charm. Anas is clearly fascinated and passionate about this city. He also recognizes that his stories are stories and oral history itself is a negotiated and cultivated art. I had a fantastic experience. Will defo go again.
Wholesome walk and a 10/10 weekend activity. Anas is an amazing host with in depth knowledge and eloquence. If I had such an interesting history teacher , I would have never left school (in a good way 🫠)
I went for the Purana Quila walk - centred around Mughal Love Stories - and I absolutely loved it ! His storytelling keeps the participants hooked and we all lost track of time ! Definitely recommended! 😊✌🏻
It was one of the best experiences of my life. It’s always good to know about places you visit and Anas makes sure that you get to know facts in the most interesting manner. I really liked the atmosphere of his walk. I attended his qutub minar walk and would like to attend other walks in future.
We recently went on a heritage walk to Qutub Minar with Anas, and it was truly an eye-opening experience. Even though we had visited Qutub Minar before, it had always been about just being there and clicking pictures. This time was completely different, Anas brought the history, stories, and hidden details of the monument to life. We learned so much. I would highly recommend taking a heritage tour with Anas.
It was fun experience to learn about history with some stories which were not heared often. Anas explained history in a way which seems more imteresting and make us think how were life during particular time frame
Undoubtedly Anas is the best storyteller of Delhi. I think his usp is that he makes it so interesting for you that you end up falling in love with Delhi ♥️
As a wandering malang musafir, I joined Anas Khan’s Unzip Delhi heritage walk. His storytelling turned Old Delhi’s lanes into living history—cobblestones, hidden shrines, and vibrant bazaars came alive. The evening light, street aromas, and Anas’s warm humor made it unforgettable. A perfect blend of culture, flavor, and soulful companionship. Highly recommended for fellow wanderers seeking authentic
Excellent, felt like walking into history 💐👏Time told tales of bygone days, felt as if we are really in the story. Fabulous story teller.
Delhi is not just a city — it’s a theatre of memory. Anas’s walks probably make you feel like you’re stepping into a play where emperors, poets, rebels, and common folk all share the stage. The beauty lies not only in monuments but in the stories that stitch them together, turning Delhi into something more than geography: a poem written across centuries.
Love the way you weave memory, landscape, and politics into one narrative. The way you talk, opens up ways of looking at a site that stays long after you’ve left.
There are experiences you simply attend… and then there are experiences you feel. Unzip Delhi falls into the second category — the kind you carry home with you long after the walk is over. I joined expecting a guided heritage tour. What I found was something far more intimate — a story, a connection, a slow unfolding of a city I’ve lived in yet never truly seen. Delhi has always been history wrapped in noise — but with Unzip Delhi, it becomes poetry wrapped in silence. As we walked through old arches, forgotten courtyards, and timeless tombs, I realized this wasn’t just about monuments or dates or dynasties. It was about the invisible thread linking the past to the present — the way love, power, loss, art, and faith echo through these stones even centuries later. The storyteller didn’t just describe history — they made me feel it. Their words had warmth, their pauses had meaning, and their curiosity was contagious. I didn’t just see Delhi — I met her. I sensed the pride of kings, the grief of lovers, the quiet dignity of those who built, healed, prayed, and lived here before us. I heard stories I never knew, and emotions I didn’t expect found their way in — reverence, nostalgia, even a strange kind of belonging. Unzip Delhi reminded me that cities aren’t built only with stone — they’re built with memory. And somewhere between the walk and the whisper of the evening breeze, between history and storytelling, I fell a little bit in love — with Delhi, with time, and with the beauty of slowing down. To anyone living in or visiting this city — go. Unzip Delhi. You won’t just learn something. You’ll remember something you didn’t even know you forgot. Also, ther Agra trip was awesome!
Anas is truly the best host, he is warm and charming. You realise even though you’ve always been in Delhi, you haven’t seen Delhi. Sign up for sure!
I have done several heritage walks and food walks with Anas, and every experience has truly been wonderful. His knowledge, his style of storytelling, and the way he connects history with real-life examples make every walk unforgettable. Whether it’s exploring old lanes, trying local food, or discovering the hidden stories behind monuments, Anas makes everything interesting and enjoyable. He is very polite, professional, and extremely passionate about his work. I genuinely enjoyed every walk and learned so much. I would highly recommend Anas to anyone who wants a real and memorable experience...
Wonderful experience, love the way Anas bhai narrates the story and of-course enjoyed the vibe. His narrating skills open up a new perspective which is different from the hearsay!
Very well curated and insightful walk. Highly recommend to people who want to explore dilli in a real sense. Thank you Team.
I have been going for Anas’s heritage every week since the time I got to know about it. Great experience overall, Anas is a great guide and story teller, with ample knowledge about the heritage. Highly recommend!
With anas it’s always complacent his slow storytelling makes you read through the walls which otherwise remains overlooked 🫶
We did the Old Delhi walking tour with Anas and his assistant at the end of September, and thought it was a special way to experience and explore a side of Delhi that not everyone gets to see. Anas has an anthropologist's view of his city and India, so he really understands the history and complex cultural context underlying modern India, and makes it easy for you to understand it too. Old Delhi is an overwhelming place the first time you step foot in it, so we appreciated having a knowledgeable and welcoming guide like Anas. There are so many different faiths, languages, architectural styles, sights, sounds, colors, etc — it would be impossible to really find your around on your own. Because of Anas, we were able to step inside a Sikh temple during a musical ceremony, explore the hidden beauty of tucked-away corridors and buildings, and learn a ton about the city's history. And when it started raining heavily in the middle of the tour, he was flexible and rerouted so we could do some shopping/negotiating with his support. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wishing for an experience that makes you feel connected to Delhi, rather than just being an outsider floating around.
I had a great tour around old Delhi. My guide was knowledgeable and answered any question I had. The tour included some interesting stories about the different religions and visits to multiple of the temples. I strongly recommend it, the only thing I would do differently is to book it earlier in the morning to avoid the crowd at the spice market.
Lareb took us (4 visitors + 2 locals) on an insightful tour of old Delhi showing us a side of the city not everyone can access or experience. His pace, storytelling, and knowledge were exceptionally good. This isn’t your typical tour - Lareb gives you more than facts you can read online. He contextualized history and painted for us a picture of Delhi from the past. The highlight of the tour for me was Khari Baoli where he brought the pre- and post- independence story of that space to life. So glad this tour exists. Whether you’re visiting or live in Delhi - check this tour out. You will not be disappointed.
this experience is tailor-made. We ventured into untouched corners, slipped into historic little shops, discovered hidden sunset and sunrise spots, riverbanks, and were captivated by a storyteller who turned ruins and lanes into chapters of history. What made it even sweeter? Everything felt authentic, affordable, and smoothly arranged, as though Agra had quietly opened itself to us. It wasn’t flawless—yes, we were tired, yes, some spots needed patience to find—but those very imperfections made the experience all the more unforgettable. It was contemplative, exhausting, and downright beautiful.
anas is exelent story teller, i learned lots of history from him and he is a great humble guy. #unzipdelhi #heritagewalk
The trip was amazing, I truly enjoyed it. Although I had been to Agra before, this time I experienced it through Anas’s perspective, and it felt even more beautiful. Words can’t describe the charm of seeing the Taj at night from the ghat, the serene view of the river, and visiting Itimad-ud-Daulah for the very first time. There’s so much to say, but in short—thank you, Anas, for giving me such wonderful memories.
Anas Khan aka Unzip delhi, more then a host… Got lucky to be part of his Tour To Agra in August 2025. Join him all the way From Surat Gujarat. Agra The 2 tier city of UP has the The One of seven wonders of the world known As Taj Mahal Symbol of love… Anas guide us through 3 days To sikandra - Agra and Fatehpur Sikri. His immense knowledge about history is deserved highest appreciation . His story telling is next level. Apart from being host He is gem of a person. Would love to join this amazing group again. Thanks Anas khan For Trip of life… Gujju ✍️
Excellent tour, interesting and informative, a good pace and diverse selection of sites. Guide was a good storyteller and able to ask a wide range of questions.
I really enjoyed my Old Delhi tour with Lareb, which was actually already my 2nd tour with him. I really appreciate his good service, friendlyness & knowledge. All sights we discovered where amazing & I felt really safe in his company, especially as a woman solo traveller. He took me to places which I would have never found on my own. I gained a lot of insights into the culture of Old Delhi & highly recommend this tour! For me, Lareb is one of the best tour guides you can have.
Anas’s knowledge, storytelling, and passion for Delhi history truly brought the monuments and streets to life. I went with my friend. Really appreciated the insights and hidden details he shared- made the experience both enriching and memorable. Looking forward to joining more such walks in the future!
This was my third time joining an Unzip Delhi tour, and it just keeps getting better. It’s honestly one of the most genuine and enjoyable ways to meet a group of people who are all curious about our heritage. What makes it truly special, though, is our guide Anas. He has a way of making everyone feel welcome, no matter where they’re coming from. By blending deep knowledge with a light, humorous energy, he keeps everyone at ease throughout. His storytelling brings the past to life, and you walk away feeling connected not just to the place, but also to the people you shared it with. It doesn’t matter if you show up solo or with friends, by the end, you’ll feel that sense of connection. And if you’re anything like me, you might even walk away with some great friendships too. Can’t recommend it enough.
The recent walk at Chandni Chowk was truly an amazing experience. A huge shoutout to Anas, whose storytelling was nothing short of magical. The way he weaves history with lived experience is so unique and engaging, it felt like the past was unfolding right in front of us. His energy, passion, and true Dilliwala spirit brought every lane to life. Highly recommend to anyone looking to truly feel Delhi.
